Also, your IP/SP are VERY old. You may experience problems with using newer ROMS (such as the latest 6.5 builds). Not saying it's doomed to failure, just saying don't expect miracles.

[Q] Repurposing an old Treo 750

I have an old Treo 750 that I no longer use as a phone. I would like to find cool new uses for it other than just an mp3 player or standard PDA functions. I've read suggestions like making it a universal remote, a straight alarm clock, stuff like that, but I think there are probably better ideas than that. It's not unlocked (yet), and I haven't updated it since 2009.
It's running WM6.
Treo750-1.13-ATT
Firmware - 1.54.27.00
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
did you ever get any answers? would love to turn mine into a roku remote or some fun project running android...

[Q] SPL 3.14 restrictions. PLEASE HELP!

Hi. T-mobile fixed my HTC HD2 and have installed SPL 3.14. This seems to be preventing me from installing TomTom and Android. I've tried several versions of Android from the XDA site and have tried lots of TomTom versions, but no joy. I've even tried to downgrade the SPL version, but it doesn't let me. It keeps saying there's an error or something.
This is frustrating, especially in respect of TomTom, as i had this and was able to use it on my phone previously.
I'm am not technically minded, so do not know what to do now. Can anyone help me?

[Q] Update Error C00D070A There's a communication error with your phone.

Hello,
After following the following thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415 ([CAB] Official WP7 Updates List: 7.10.8107 + ALL LANGUAGES complete + OEM updates) to the letter I repeatedly receive the same error on two different PC's. UpdateWP: (Device ID Left Out) Update Error C00D070A There's a communication error with your phone.
If I run UpdateWP.exe /list I can see my device.
I read through the entire thread, all 75 pages and could not find an answer to my problem. I also scoured the rest of the site for two days to no avail. @jellenl post: Problem with 'WP7 Update Cab Sender' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1291536 was the closest reported issue similar to mine. I have replied to that post and am waiting for additional information.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, the newer software is needed to address the Exchange 2003 bug on our phones.

Problem Solved!
After manually backing up my data (there are automated tools you can use) I factory reset my phone and attempted an update to 7740 using the following tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315179 with a custom CabData.xml that I created for my phone (VZW Trophy). I updated my OS (7720) and Languages (English - United States (0409) and Spanish (0C0A), the two languages installed by the default) to 7740 successfully, and then updated OS and Languages to 8107 succesfully. After the update process I reseated my battery and factory reset the phone once again, and as expected the latest OS 7.10.8107.79 (8107) is still present on my phone.
It's important to note that I have a factory ROM and my phone already had it's firmware updated automatically (via Zune) to the levels noted in my original post. I believe the WP7 Update Cab Sender would have worked as well but preferred the slick interface wCabSender provided, thanks guys!
No thanks Verizon and HTC, a BIG Thanks to all at xda-developers!
How does your phone work using this method? I attempted to cook a rom with 8107, but Phone app would't load anymore. XD
Also, using this method, can you dial ##PST# without the phone freezing? The current DFT Freedom V1 from Verizon Wireless Trophy can't use ##PST# with their cooked 8107.
I have yet to try to manually update to 7740+ and beyond. I wish VZW would get off their butts and support our phone, but I'd wager that we've seen the last updates. Verizon isn't even interested in putting more WP7's on the network last I knew.
Also, how did you edit CabData.xml?
@TheXev, Thanks for your post
As I mentioned earlier I have a factory ROM (at no time did I ever attempt to alter the phone), We purchased the phone a month ago to test in our enterprise (as a BlackBerry alternative - we had already tested iPhone and Android and were not happy with the results) and it wasn't until we rolled out a second device (beta group) that we discovered the Exchange 2003 bug (email responses had original data removed) and determined via the Windows Phone Website that OS 7740 had corrected that bug. I still am not clear on why my phone would not upgrade without a factory reset, but it was a small price to pay for the bug fixes and enhancements brought through to OS 8107.
I wasn't aware that I could dial ##778 for field diagnostics (thank you for that information) my phone dials the number correctly and without freezing.
If you decide to upgrade I would encourage you to use the wCabSender, it can be found at this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315179 I have uploaded my updated CabData.xml at the end of the thread.
On a side note I already had the Windows Phone Engineering Flash Tool installed on my machine when I attempted my upgrades using WP7 Update Cab Sender, this tool is not installed with wCabSender and I'm not certain if it's necessary, if you run into trouble using wCabSender (it not launching) you can download WPEFT from this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415 also keep in mind that wCabSender has prequisites (I believe) .NET Framework 4.x, etc.
As I mentioned earlier I have uploaded the edited CabData.xml via another forum, my updated version includes the latest Firmware: 2305.13.20110.605
and Radio software version: 1.53.00.12.01_23.17w.05.13U and all OS updates and Language packs (Eng. and Esp.) needed for a Verizon Trophy. The wCabSender's slick interface allows you to download the updates into the /Downloaded directory. The CabData.xml can be found in the /Models directory and can be updated by a text editor, I used notepad.
It is unfortunate regarding Verizon and their apparent lack of enthusiasm for WP7, we have hundreds of devices (mostly BB Not WP7) and even their T2 Enterprise Technical Support was unable to confirm if they had received notification for the update. HTC reported the same information and redirected me back to Verizon. Hopefully in the future MS can push the updates directly to the phones, until then I will continue to use invaluable resources like xda-developers to overcome these issues. Thanks Again!
I believe MS has a hit on their hands with the Windows Phone, which I believe will become more apparent with the release of Windows 8.
I concur on all points. Last night I was able to upgrade the stock 7720 rom to 8107 and have a working phone (I missed the language pack between 7740 and 8107). I used cooking methods and HSPL, so I didn't have to modify any files after tinkering.
In an enterprise environment, it isn't a good idea to void the warranty of the equipment with HSPL (or open up another can of wax my using an a unlocked phone).
I'm glad to see the phone fully works with 8107, but I have to wonder why Verizon didn't at least push the 7740 update for the reasons you stated.
I'll have to continue to work with DFT to see if we can figure out why their testing rom doesn't run ##PST#. My current 8107 build works fine with ##PST# now, but I haven't been able to fully unlock it (here is to tonight's digging).

[Q] Interop-Unlock Lumia 800 using student's developer account possible?

Hi guys, first of all I don't know if you need a General presentation of me... anyway... I have that good toy mentioned in the title and I'm looking for a way to interop-unlock it... I've studied for a week (I'm a computer programmer and I spend much of day on the computer so it's usual for me... ) and I would like to know if after the download of Network _Setup v.1.0.0.0.xap I can reset the phone firmware to the first (the one that was on the phone when I bought it, with no upgrades...) and try to fully unlock it (I have already unlock it with the student's developer account, app hub and so on... but it's not enough for me... ) with the Heathcliff interop-unlocker.xap... Is this possible?
Here's my device information:
Nokia Lumia 800
Vodafone SW variant ID212 v.01
Windows Phone 7.5 Mango
OS version: 7.10.8107.79
Firmware Revision Number: 1600.2487.8107.12070
Hardware Revision Number: 112.1402.2.3
Bootloader version: 7.35.0.0
SOC Processor Version: 0.74.2.1
I used the Nokia_Interop_Unlock_by_Heathcliff74.xap but no results, now I can't install more .xap, I have the error Error - 0x81030120
I tried too... Same results, but I think it should be due to the updates of OS... Windows, as I read, made an update to fix a bug that allowed app to entry or modify register keys... but... If you don't have the updates (virgin OS, the first) you should be able to do that... Am I wrong guys of xda?
So probably if you reflash the first OS that was in the device, and retry the heathcliff hacking after got a "Network Setup" not upgraded (v. 1.0.0.0 ???) version and deployed it in the phone using the Application deployer...
I think I will try this way soon... If anybody as any suggestions.......
Hi,
Unfortunately not possible (yet). No-one managed to do this on a NOKIA so far. I'm trying, but the NOKIA's are well-protected.
I hope to find an unlock asap, but there is really no way to tell if or when I will succeed.
Ciao,
Heathcliff74

[QUESTION]: HTC 7 Pro T7576 - 7.10.8107.79 - Unlockable?

I recently purchased a new HTC 7 Pro T7576 and am looking to unlock it to install the root tools.
I have spent several days trying to read up about unlocking prior to posting in this thread, but have not had much luck.
Based on my research, I understand that there exist several different type of unlocks. For the work I'd like to do with this device, I require that root tools are installed and understand that the INTEROP unlock would suffice for this as the tools are not native tools.
I have followed most of the instruction online with out much luck for setting up the device yet. The details of the device are:
Name: HTC 7 Pro T7576
Software: Windows Phone 7.5
OS version: 7.10.8107.79
Firmware rev number: 2250.21.51202.111
Radio software version: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Boot loader version: 2.2.5.0
The steps I've taken thus far are to take a backup of the device using zune, download the HTC_Interop_Unlock.xap and tried to install it using XAPDeployX-v0.9.
The error message I get back is:
Deployment FAILED with the following ERROR:
Failed to connect to device as it is developer locked. For details on developer unlock, visit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=195284.
Is there any luck for this device?
Thanks!
Based on some additional reading... I would require to flash the boot loader and put a custom rom.
Can anyone confirm?
After several days of research, it appears that the Interop method does not work any more.
Additionally, can someone provide some direction? I'm looking to flash but the instructions aren't clear and I don't want to brick my device.
Thanks.
Any tips from anyone? I'm trying not to avoid bricking my device.
ANy help would be greatly appreciated.
My journey for unlocking this device is still moving forward.
From additional reading, it looks like my SPL is 5.2.2.5.0 which means I must downgrade it...
The only way I see so far is with a gold card.
Given I have an OTG cable? Can I use this cable? to somehow download the bootloader?
Hi,
use this Method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456200
This will work on my boot loader? Even with an SPL with 5.1.2.2250.0?
To close the loop, I used a goldcard image with the RUU_Gold_HTC_Europe_1.22.401.01_Radio_5.63.09.13_3a_22.36.50.15U_by_ansar.zip to create the GOLDIMG.nbh to downgrade the firmware.
Was a bit finicky, but eventually it took the update.
Next to install a custom rom...
Update: Trying to install RSPL and HSPL, but no luck
Does the DFT tool work on these devices? I've tried to go through the 126 page DFT thread (below) but no really confirmation
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
If anyone can help this would be great!
Moving right along... Got the HSPL flashed. Had to use another PC.
The original PC I used was a VMWARE workstation with Windows XP, which did not detect the device.
Used a physical Win7 Laptop, everything worked just fine.
Now onto a custom firmware....
Hmm, tried to flash Dynamics v2.0, but it needs a special radio version.
I got the radio, but not sure how to flash it, can someone help explain how to do this with RUU?
Thanks.
Hi dustbyter
are you still interested in this topic? I just did the same on my HTC 7 Pro T7576

Hello,
I have been given a HTC 7 Pro T7576, Windows Phone 7.8, OS version: 7.10.8858.136, firmware rev. no. 2250.21.51101.401, hardware rev. no. 0002, radio software version 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U, radio hardware version A.102.0.D4, Bootloader version 5.11.2250.0, chip SOC version 2.2.5.0
I love everything but the OS of this phone.
I am a total newbie at mobile OS but have 10 years experience with Slackware linux.
Please help me out with detailed instructions to replace Windows Phone with Android on HTC 7 Pro.
Thank you!

I second this. Windows Phone 7 is a dead-end street. Therefore, nobody even cooks ROMs for these phones any more (the newest ones I could find are from 2013).
That's pretty bad since otherwise, the HTC 7 Pro is a good phone - I love its keyboard as my fingers do not seem to be compatible to touch screens
It was possible to port Android to legacy devices like the HTC HD2. Wouldn't it be possible to do that for the HTC 7 Pro, too? That would be, I think, the greatest thing since sliced bread
Kind regards,
DAC324
