Smart Dialling

I have recently upgraded from WM2003SE to WM5.
In WM2003SE there was a 'Smart Dialling' feature that meant I could tap, say, '4 6 6 3' on my keypad and 'Home' would appear amoung other possible numbers in my contacts.
THis feature dosent seem to be in the 160.b WM5 ROM and I'm having trouble locating a cab that works.
I have tried http://www.dmmh.nl/xda/files/view/?fid=343 and many other Intellipads etc but none seem to work.
Answers in am informative and well written post as soon as possible please.

dont think that feature is a std part of 2003SE
most likely it's a program from the extented rom
which one could copy out and try to see if was compatible
with 2005 and if it were you would be set

How would I do that? Im still not sure what all the RAM/ROM combos are on my SPV M1000...

about the other thing then all you need is the cab file
you could
1. revert back to 2003SE unlock and unhide the extented rom and copy out the cab file
2. get somebody using the 2003SE to do it for you

I'm amazed that no-one else is looking for this cab as I found it absolutely invaluable. How else do you dial a number with ease or when driving?

donno maybe voice commander of cause there you have to press the talk button first

I really like the MS voice command and will be buying it soon. I still like the Smart Dialler though for when you dont want to 'show off' by talking at your phone (then having it do the complete opposite of what you just asked! )

WM6.1 Cloning software? Also WM6.1 Webcam software?

- I finally got my PPC set up perfectly how I wanted it and was wondering if theres any kind of application out there that I can download that will make a clone of the whole thing, including the storage card. I was hoping to beable to make something so that if I had to hardreset and I could just run the clone image and it would auto instal and configure everything exactly as it is now.
- Secondly I was trying to find some kind of software that I can run on a desktop PC and my HTC Touch and see on the desktop, what im seeing through the camera on it. Kinda like video conferencing. I've tried Live messenger on it. also Skye just straight up freezes with wm6.1
Any ideas? Suggestions?
SPB Clone didnt seem to work real well. It suggested the clone size would be 15mb when it should be closer to 200mb.

Wish I could help but I'm hoping someone else will answer these 2 questions.... How i'd love to be able to just load 1 image back onto my phone when it F*#$%S up.
Someone posted a link to software that converts your phone to a webcam but it costs and I'm a poor student who can barely pay the rent (had my phone before I became a student in case anyone is wondering)...... A freeware version of webcam software would be great.....anyone?...Bueller? Anyone?

Whats the one that costs money? I'm curious.

How about SPB Backup, isn't that much better. It has an option to backup the storage card too, but it is unticked to save memory consumption.

Real VGA on x7510

Dear Tobias and friends,
I would like to install Real VGA and the other 2 DPI cab files into my Italian htc x7510 WM 6.1 pro but, beig really a newbye,...WHERE have I to put these files ? In wich Folders ?
2nd Question...Is there any risk ? It seems someone in the forum had problems due to the WM 6.1... Is there someone who tried successfully Real VGA on an Italian version ? With wich precautions ?

I've used RealVGA on my x7510 since I got it w/o any problems at all. Works great and it makes the huge display really worthwhile.
When you install it be sure to install to main memory, not the flash drive or a storage card -- that's true for the RealVGA program and both dpi programs. Then reboot your x7510, open RealVGA, select whichever dpi you want and it will reboot again -- should then work fine.

I had a similar problem (not ony with excel but with any program with a box to edit a number).
I think that the problem is with the SIP keyboard that does not work on 96/128 dpi. Install another SIP keyboard (like resco keyboard) and all should work fine again.

Or you could just drop the three files in the attached RAR into your Windows folder...

I installed Real VGA and also the file you suggested but there are still problems:
1) first of all there is a message that msimit.128.dll and msimit.96.dll are missing. Where can i find them ?
2) some programs do not run properly: e.g. in Agenda Fusion 8.60 contacts, the icons commads at the bottom are not displayed.
3) If it will become necessary, how can I go back to the original display ?

you must copy the msim.128.dll and msim.96.dll to another folder, rename it to msimit.128.dll and msimit.96.dll, and copy back to windows-folder
if you want your original display with 192dpi, start real vga and set it to 192dpi, restart, ready. some progs are not working with that, eg s2u2 will not go back to 192dpi

Dear All,
I solved the problem with missing msimit : it was enough a files' rename.
Still open instead the problem with Agenda Fusion 8.6 (Developer One). At 192 dpi works properly but, at 96 and 128 dpi, even working well, the icon buttons at the bottom pages disappear, so that commands are not available.
Anyone knows a way to solve it ?

How to remove/change HD2 windows files

Hey, this question maybe was asked before, but couldn't find it any where. We can do a lot of tweeks with removing/ changing file in WM6.5 folder, but every time i try to do so it says "Acces denied". what i do wrong and what i need to do. your help and tips are welcome!

Try Total Commander
For the language tweaks on this forum, and other stuff where you need to "overwrite" ROM files, use Total Commander.
It won't allow you hardcore stuff, but for many tricks advertised here it works.
Thinking of it, I wouldn't be able to come up with a good search term for this either. However, the threads with tricks do tell you to use TC.

Total Commander runs on the phone. It's basically a file explorer alternative that does a few other things, like registry editing, as well.
It allows you to overwrite read-only and system files that aren't in use.
You should have no problem replacing the startup images with it.

hey johncmolyneux, i see you are one of poor UK HD2 owners with skinned rom. i'll show up stupid again but where do i find TC on UK O2 rom. i had one on my touch pro but i just can't see one on HD2. maybe because O2 removed it? maybe you know link to download on for HD2? thanks in advance

Glad you sorted it. I just found it by googling.
Incidentally, I'm an O2 user, but my phone isn't an O2 one - I bought it SIM free. Also, Total Commander doesn't come on the standard ROM either, so you would have been looking for it regardless!
I didn't think O2 were doing anything to the phone. Have they skinned it then?

yeap, first what i missed is wifi router! and believe some other small bits and bobs as i haven't seen hrc rom yet. another thing bastards locked damn phone and need sim free as i travel alot to europe and use foreign sims. by the way i rcopied files for lock screen and welcome screen to win dir, soft it but no changes happened. any ideas where did i go wrong?

I've only played with the lockscreen myself, and I did that by copying the cpr file and the associated png files into the windows folder, and then just to be sure, I copied the cpr file into the \windows\lockscreen\ folder as well.
That worked for me.
As far as the start screen goes, I'd raise the problem in the thread that you got the screens from.

just go here get this package:

then put haret in fat partition and rest in ext3 partition on your sdcard!
ext3 has to be first part on sdcard!
works fine for me
but before use change pin not to contain "0" emergency call is preventing "0" from being pressed!
if you want to install apps(yes it works w/o market)
just put a filemanager in right place(extract and organize files by yourself!)
then you can put them anywhere opening apk using the filemanager!
works fine for me
playing paper toss (right screen is black a few rows because of wrong resolution! but at least it works
even mp3 works sms works put files in sd card folder on ext3 part. =)
that is the folder the sd card should be mounted!

got a problem with my ext3 partition: on windows i can do nothing. ubuntu can find the ext3 device, but i can´t move anything onto it - access denied, no permission.

I anyone trying to bring the Android to i780
I know there is a strong i780 WM6.5 users community here on xda, but maybe someone would be able to cut the Android system in order to work with this phone.
As i see in WM 6.5 thread -> this phone's processor can work at 800 MHz flawlessly, and i observe that there are plenty of android phones with slower cpu.
Maybe some skilled person could work it out?
