sooo, because i'm a cheap basta*d i'm going to buy a dvd player with gps for my car on ebay and i've noticed a lot of them, or even all of them?, run on windows ce. So here's my question, will any cab run on windows ce? i mean, winmo 5, 6, 6.1 and everything before that ran on windows ce right? so how easy would it be?
Picture this, a 8-16gb sd card, jam it into the card reader and start up S2P (slide to play) for one bad ass cover flowin' music center! obviously other thing would be useful to, and since these bad boys are only like $300 buckaroos it isn't a bad idea, especially for us gadget pr0n guys right?
what about flashing a rom from a SD card (only heard rumors/speculation about that, probably not possible)? or just loading up manila 2d/3d via throttle launcher and getting the think looking pimp? no phone antenna, no problem, just sync it through the bluetooth and make calls (new app required i'm guessing, or at least adapt/beautify some existing cab/exe). get internet sharing to work on it somehow and you're seriously looking at a pretty cool carputer. well, with all i'd want to use one for anyways. Who wants to do more than what a good rom on one of our phones can do while in a car anyways?
I'm not sure if it will run out of the box like that, with nothing more than some cabs on and sd card, or if you have to do something else (file explorer and whatnot), but i figured xda would be the best place to start for the right answers. I've never gone wrong before with you guys, so speak up! let's see what we come up with!
or at least give me a link to a better place if you know of one and i'll get off my soapbox...
anyways, i've got access to a few vogues, a wing/herald, and a touch pro to do testing with, along with the dvd player/win CE unit--in about a week or two that is--so i'm more than happy to put it on the table.
Man i hope you guys are reading this and as pumped as i am.
anyways, pm me with anything, or i'll just keep looking to see if anyone else posts here

does anyone know if this would even work?
This could work.
First of all, you need to look up how to disable OEM's shell (factory "software" of the player) and enable Windows CE interface.
Next you either install Handheld PC apps, or install libraries which allow you to run applications from PocketPC.
Myself I tried it with a cheap GPS. Yeah, WinCE + apps are a major step up from maps only, but it is not anywhere close to even a non-phone PPC. Because of, for example, lack of WiFi. The big advantage is, that I can install any WinCE compatible map instead of outdated OEM maps.
Hope I am right, and this helps
Where did you find information about your GPS? I just got one, model# TID-7626GPS that I'm going to try to mod, but i can't find information about how to get the WinCE.
if you could pass on any links to places i could look it would help a ton. For how do disable the factory OEM and those libraries?
First you need to find out real manufacturer of your device. I googled model name you said but there's nothing
Or, connect that device via ActiveSync (yes, the same) and see if there's a file \Windows\autorun.inf
If it exists, backup it. Then change it so it will load \Windows\explorer.exe
That should unlock WinCE UI.
However, the file may not exist. In this case you have to look for instructions over the web.
Ok, theres a lot of threads out there on getting Debian working "with" Android side by side. What about getting Debian working primarily and natively? You can easily modify the bootloader to boot into Debian.
No I'm not talking about chrooting into debian from the Android environment.
With this being said there are plenty of possibilities. Debian works natively with ARM, so you can go ahead and install Xorg with touchpad driver etc. and get Debian working up to fullspeed. Believe me, it works a 1000x better than using AndroidVNC and tightvnc server. You can actually use mplayer with ffmpeg to play any type of vidoes off your sdcard at fullspeed.
So anyway, what do you guys think? Maybe theres a way to modify the bootloader so at boot time you can choose to boot into debian or android etc. or maybe it would be possible to lets say "boot debian" and vnc into androids fb to "make a phone call" etc., kind of a like a reverse vnc method we use to get into X on the debian side. Heck - we could maybe even figure out how to access the framework to make calls natively through debian. The possibilities are endless.
Also, I'll edit this post and try to get a guide going here in a couple days on how to get Debian ARM/Xorg working.
I was actually wondering myself if this could be done. Heck, not like I do not enjoy android or anything. It would be great to be able to run a lot of my *nix apps natively on my phone.
I already have Debian runnin off my 8GB sdcard(unfortunately a class 2) and I enjoy it. Problem is having to shut it down and restart it so much to get functionality out of my G1.
Keep me up to date on your progress and let me know the best GUI to use for better performance.
so whats the deal, anyone actually got this working? i have no use for my brothers g1 considering the low call quality/not recieving mms'es, i mean literally if i put them side by side, my excalibur has better service/reception. and id be pretty sweet to have crystal fvwm running on g1. so it doesnt really matter to me if i could get it to make calls, as theres always skype/amsn w.e. so pretty much anyone got any links on getting a native debian install?

ahh thx for the link i saw this before but misplaced the bookmark. but im afraid thats not exactly what im looking for but that probably doesnt exist. as this is only set up to have dual boot booting android/debian of 3rd part on sdcard. and as far as i am seeing in the thread it isnt working to well. that im just going to have to wait and see what happens.
This is an old thread, but still a very interesting topic.
Would be *great* to but debian at the bottom of things.
A note about the bootloader: It is ***ALREADY DUALBOOT***. There are TWO boot partitions on the phone: "boot" and "recovery". If you want to set it up to dualboot, but your primary (automated) boot kernel into "boot", and your secondary in "recovery".
As long as you have an engineering SPL, the actual recovery is not required -- in fact, if you WANT to boot into recovery, you can always "fastboot boot recovery.img" without even having to flash the recovery to the phone.
I tell you the thing that really bugs me about android: that it doesn't support existing X.
What I dream of at night is running the ANDROID stuff ON TOP OF X. It would present a little bit of a challenge in terms of having the PHONE app (or whatever) be able to pop up to the top. There would also be some RESOURCE challenges. DREAM may not be the best hardware to implement this on.
Native Xorg
A slight off-topic because I have Samsung Galaxy
I was also fascinated by this possibility of running debian linux, Xorg on the phone.
So I created this project "linux-on-android" (sorry, I am not allowed to post links yet) on the google code where I am going to post instructions and code. Please, join the project if you are interested. It should be completely open.
The idea is to start with something simple but working and move slowly. In order to run X server from the Debian distribution it is enough to just use the Android kernel, with only a little change to the framebuffer driver. I don't change the boot procedure - only turn off the android services and put things like startx instead. Now I am trying to use matchbox+LXDE and they look nice and fast. Wifi and touchpad work. Nothing else does. I thought about what would be the minimal working configuration and decided that power management + telephony would be very good.
With the telephony I plan to leave the android RIL daemon and write a small python program that would communicate with it and act as a dialer. It appears to be not such a problem, at least I am able to communicate with the daemon now and all requests are nicely wrapped in python methods. The next step is to write phone GUI/dialer.
I think it would be already very nice to have Xorg and debian running on top of the android daemons and android kernel replacing this "zygote" stuff. Also if we do something in this way, it would probably work on any android-based phone without big changes.
About dual-boot: I am still using chroot, I don't find anything bad in it. I have two different boot.img files, they only differ by init.rc, one which starts zygote, and one which starts Xorg. In Android I press a button and reboot in debian, in debian I press a button and reboot in android.

Wow klinck you really seem to be making awesome progress here man. Just looking through your project page and i see it being updated every day. I just watched the video proof and i must say it's really quite impressive.
What needs to be done now is make a guide for this, so people can easily install this on their G1 and test it.
Also, this will give it more developer attention. I really think this deserves a chance

To Jefmeister: thanks for posting the links and your interest.
About G1: As I said, I have Samsung Galaxy, so I don't have a chance to test it on G1. But still I can probably make a "binary distribution" for G1 and somebody else can test it. There are some hardware differences, to summarize, there are 3 things I need to change:
I need a kernel for G1 with ext3 support, and patched framebuffer driver which turns double buffering into single buffering and automatically updates screen at regular intervals
I need to know if tslib driver works with touchscreen from G1 and what is the corresponding device (it is /dev/input/event2 in my case)
I need to know where to put the debian distribution. In Galaxy we have a separate 1Gb ext3 partition on SD card which is normally used for '/data' directory, so there is a plenty of free space there. But I guess it may be different on G1.

(3): You could certainly put it all on the sdcard in exactly the same way. As long as you have the sdcard driver built into the kernel, the sdcard is just like any other storage device.
I dont know if this is going to be of any help to you, but as I was searching around for a way to nativly install linux on my dream I found this.

Hi all !
I have actually an Debian NATIVE on my G1, both Debian/OpenMOKO/Android on the SAME phone.
android are into NAND FLASH, OpenMOKO (for tests and few binaries/config files) into SD2 Partition, and Debian with all tools to compilation, into SD3 Partition.
Actualy work on my Debian G1 :
USB NET
Xorg
Keyboard (but one touch not responding)
Touchscreen (but the calibration into Worg not work, into FBCONS it's OK)
Trackball (but the ball not "click")
I trying to make call, with OpenMoko I can ring my phone.
I trying also WiFi : Crash :'(
for bluetooth, I don't have the fu***** firmware ...
For ALL : You can boot debian with fastboot or recovery.
Debian CAN be into SD1/FAT32 parition, into loop file. I make an boot img, who can boot from SD1 part with loop image you don't must repartition SDCARD, or have dedicated SD card.
Hi everyone
I am in need of urgent Help
I upgraded my Motorola Milestone XT720 from 2.1 to 2.2 using Cincinatti Bell Manual.
I referred this
http://www.cincinnatibell.com/milestoneupgrade/#howtoupgrade
Now, After successful upgrade, I have some serious issues
1) My Camera's Flash isnt working. I cant enable it.
2) Performance is low
3) Lost MotoNav. How can I get it back?
4) Even if I keep Pattern lock, the slide lock do appears
5) Also, How I can merge duplicate contacts? like one contact has 3 numbers saved that are same..
Thankyou
1. im not sure. should work.
2. performance is low. you can overclock using milestone overclock if you are still rooted. however, if you are not the kind who maintains you phone everyday, i suggest you go back to 2.1 as its the most stable.
3. just google motonav apk
4. thats a flaw in the rom, cant be fixed. if you'd like to try out custom roms and maintain you phone like most of us do here, then go ahead. its very exciting lol
5. you can merge duplicate contacts by signing in to gmail on a computer, click contacts and just look around the buttons. its called "find and merge duplicate contacts" if im not wrong.
hope this helped
1) Tried all level best best to start flash... It didnt. Installed Sleekcamera apk.
2) Google find and merge always crashes and unable to do the action
3) Whats overclocking? Is it a self explanatory software??
4) Dont feel like going back to 2.1...Love App2SD
5) I also have some issues - cant play HD video and my internal video player isnt working to its full potential as I am unable o avi file. I feel, that there is codec problem, as Ringdriod isnt working too...

if you like to have apps on your sd, there's a more advanced way to have it. i think its better than android's own move apps to sd. many roms we have around here have app2ext automatically set if they detect any ext partitions on your sd card. it moves all user apps onto an ext partition on your sd card (you have to use a partition tool to make this ext partition).
overclocking is actually just controlling your cpu clock speeds. most of us overclock our phone because it sometimes get laggy if we use the stock speeds. theres an app that helps us overclock on the market called milestone overclock. please remember that you need to be rooted do these stuff.
for the camera, you might have hardware problems. i dont know. contacts you should try doing the find and merge duplicates again. i'll upload a pic to show you what it looks like.
i recommend mioze's cm6 rom if you ever want to play around with flashing stuff. the stablest i've tried so far. Cyanogenmod is very versatile lol. there are a lot of themes for this rom too, made by Sileshn our master themer. for the videos i dont think i can help. you could try mobo player from the market (i think?)
Thankyou - Sorry to buggin u again n again. One last help

This is baffling for me. I feel like M not too smart for smartphone
for the videos i dont think i can help. you could try mobo player from the market (i think?)
Yup, I have that. Unable to to pay HD vid. It shows a lag of sound and vid. Tried soft decoding. Didnt work.
Couple of things about this. Are you still Rooted? CBW gave root permissions and then I think later in the tutorial they tell you how to give it back. Don't give it back. For what you want to do, you need to keep Root permission of your device.
Next are you comfortable with flashing custom ROMs and doing realtive non-beginner stuff on your phone. We can help you and walk you through stuff but unfortunately, there isn't an "app for that". If so, then here we go.
If you successfully were able to upgrade your phone, then you can do this. There are many custom ROMS in our forums that you can use. CM6, Hellmonger's, Kahl's V4, Bravo (wip) and CM7 (wip). I suggest CM6 or Kahl's V4 as they are stable enough for beginners to learn on. The have 99% working everything and what doesn't work, is either being fixed or there are already work-arounds. (search the development forums for these)
CBW's ROM doesn't have app2ext. It only has the native Froyo app2sd where you can go to settings>apps>pick your app>move to sd. This is not the same as App2ext or Link2sd. In these you have to partition your SDcard with an ext partition. Do you know how to partition your SD card? All the above ROMs do have the native Froyo app2sd, so if you don't know how to partition your SD card, that is fine too.
Answer those and then you can decide to move forward or not. It isn't hard and you don't have to be super smart to do it, although the more you read around, there are some seriously intelligent people in here. It is just from reading your posts above, how comfortable are you? You will not brick your phone and make it a paperweight, we can bring it back from the brink, if need be. We've done it before.
**Milestone Overclock is an app in the market (requires Root) that is free to download. Just download it and set it at preset 1000/66 and you'll definately seem a boost in performance.
**Google contacts. If merge doesn't work for you, go into google on PC and look at your contact and you may have some duplicates in there. When i first got it, i had 3 of everyone too. Also, go into your phone and go to settings>account/sync and see what is sycnhing. Side note: if you have a Google+ account, unsych that as everyone in your circles will be put on your phone and vice-versa.
**Moboplayer. I use this all the time and have no problem seeing HD vids. Might want to take another look at the preferences. It even says it on the thunmbnails that it is HD.
**Camera. If you don't like the the camera function, there are a few on the market (mostly paid though) that work well. I use Vignette, but there is Camera360 and I think one for LG too. If your flash isn't working though, that might be a hardware issue.
Figure out what you want to do with your phone (flash custom ROM or not) and we can help. If you already flashed the CBW upgrade, then you are really half-way there.
Also sorry for the manifesto sized response.
Hi
Actually thankyou for detailed resonse. I find it very helpful. But, M disappointed to tell, that in afternoon,I installed Moto-optimizer after I couldnt work on Motorola Overclock and Started the process at 800...and then, its only M logo which is showing up.
Will give it to service centre tomorrow and get back to 2.1. I hope, they are not ale to detect this s/w fault..
Will love to learn our SD card partition,

See this before you do the below. Easy read but might work for you instead of flashing back to 2.1.
Here is a recent troubleshoot that we fixed.

No need to take back to service. We can get you back to stock pretty easily.
All you need is to download RSDlite on your computer, install it and run it.

Hello,
I do hope my questions fit in here.
I recently bought the LC-Power MIRA-1 10.1" tablet. In google play it is called "unknown M105F"
the tablet has a 1,2 GHz A10 - ARM Cortex A8 CPU and a Mali 400MP GPU
i do have some experience with backup/root/uc&oc and even custom mods with my motorola defy phone (currently running cm7.2 stable)
when "playing" around with my defy i found it was sold in big numbers and is very well supported not only here but in any number of other communities. however, since my new tablet is pretty new to the market and no brand tablet, finding information on it is near impossible.
i do hope this will change in the future, especially since I really feel that my tablet is well suited for a number of tasks and with the price tag of ~150 EUR might even have a chance of finding its way in the hands of many people
anyway, even if the tablet is fine as it is now, it could be better. i am talking about modifications and this is what this thread is about.
1) BACKUP
in case i screw up, I really would love to have the possibility of resetting everything(!) back to factory defaults.
with my defy it is as easy as downloading the official sfb and flashing it with rsd lite
this wont work here for obvious reasons
is there a possibility to download the firmware to the pc (from the tablet) and later restoring it? probably not
so the only way left is nandroid backup?
easier said than done with a new device and without root...
also, i would very much prefer to have a backup without root / be sure to be able to remove all modifications i made like installing clockwork mod and rooting...
2) ROOT
for various reasons I'd like to have root. according to my information, rooting 4.0.4 is dependant on the device.
considering i have an unknown device, short of trying every possibility, what else could i do/try?
3) UNDERCLOCK/OVERCLOCK
I would LOVE to try to UC and OC the tablet. I know this might fail miserabely, but I could try.
IF i had root and any idea on how to find (again, short of trying every possible app) a working app.
any ideas?
4) GENERAL CUSTOMISATION
i learned that a well made custommod (like 7.2 for my defy) can make a huge difference in customisation and performance.
I would be willing to try a stable custommod but for now, I dont think that is viable since they usually are device specific.
So all I can do is use another launcher and hope for the best. I really like the performance, functions and especial the ability to customize the AWD Launcher that came with the cm7.2 for my phone.
According to google play the awd launcher is not compatible with my device. i cant imagine why, but there it is.
now, is there a way to still try it?
and what launcher comes closest to the performance, feel and customizability of the awd launcher (i do NOT care about special visual effects on which most launchers seem to concentrate)?
5) SIMILAR DEVICES
the best way to approach all those questions might be to find a (very) similar tablet and try to extrapolate answers from there onto my device.
however, I have no clue on how to figure out what chipset my tablet uses and what other information might be needed to try it that way
---
thats it for now
any and all help will be appreciated!
thank you for reading this
Catwiesel
Hello
okay, I have some news...
since no one had anything to say I went ahead and started trying stuff out...
Apparently, the tablet is rooted by default (or my measurement of being rooted is wrong):
- when i run the app root checker, it says it is rooted
- when i run adb shell / su the prompt is root:directoy #
- i can create and delete files from /system/app
still, something is up...:
- using the adb shell i can create a file in /system/app (touch test.tst)
- if i try to delete/move anything in the adb shell from /system/app apparently the file can not be found
- it works in terminal emulator
- ive installed superuser, but have yet to see the "application asks for superuser rights"
- with the default file browser or es file explorer i can not get to / (stuck in /sdcard) EDIT: Resolved, layer8 problem!
ive also tried some overclocking apps
- they either do not go beyond 1.2ghz (stock) - the apps however is more or less to uc, not oc
- they crash the tablet even with 1248mhz - maybe the scaling gouvanours fault?
- underclocking seems to work (by accident i set the mhz from 1200 to 60 and well... it was SLOW)
i also found out some stuff (quick info system pro)
- ARMv7 processor rev 2(v71) (ARM Cortex A8 1,2GHz - at least according to the tech sheet at the manufactorer)
- sun4i
so, i wonder:
- is the tablet actually sold rooted? then why do i not get superuser permission popups?
- is my hardware not overclockable with (those) apps (i have) and/or do i actually need a custom kernel (ive read abput self compiled kernel for sun4i and another tablet)
ive gotta say, even with a bit of experience in android (acutally, very little) and a bit of linux (not too much, but decent enough) i am sorta confused
...not alone
I´d bought 2 devices LC Power Mira 2 yesterday...they should be delivered on friday...so hang on...you´re no longer alone...
It could be that the device is rooted...as far as I know...
Google runs some kind of an quality assurance by denying some "nobrand" manufactures the total Android 4.0 compatibility.
For an example the Arnova (Archon´s budget line) 10b G3 is running 4.0 but without the Play Store, ´cause the device is not fully supported as an "Quality Android 4.0 Device" and you have to use a custom rom on that tablet.
That´s one reason to spend 5 Euros more for the Mira2 which have it all onboard...or am I wrong...?

Yes, indeed, at least the MIRA-1 tablet does come prerooted. This is of course nice (since I do not have to try root it myself) but also troubeling, since there is a good reason that android devices usually are not sold rooted. The bigger problem however seems to be that the superuser app is not working properly, i.e. I do not get the "this app is requesting superuser acess" question and probably for the same reason can not get my file browser (ES file browser) to go into the / directory.
what and if other apps could have trouble with the root access that apperently not every app is "finding" i dont know. i do hope not!
however, using the android sdk or shell emulator, all kinds of SU operations can indeed be executed.
concerning your google play store question (was it a question?), yes, the MIRA-1 tablet has google play installed and it can be used without any peticular limitation. its a safe bet that the mira-2 will be able to, too.
my experience with overclocking the tablet does not bode well. even a 48Mhz (smallest step) increase will freeze it. I have tried multiple apps.
i do not have any absolute answer so far. it could be that the oc apps have trouble with the root or are plain the wrong apps or simply that the cpu is already at its absolute limit and just can not be oced.
further investigation into this issue has revealed that apparently other tablets with similar hardware configuration may be able to overclock but apparently it would be neccesary to edit config files and with those compile the kernel. this is far beyond of what i can do and would be willing to do.
i am a bit sad about that, then yeah, the tablet is nice and good enough for me and worth the money, but a bit more speed could not hurt. it does happen that the tablet gets unresponsive for .5-1sec when browsing the web.
one last thought. the gpu does seem to be pretty "powerfull" (please, do not take me to literal.)
but i have yet to find any game that does not run smooth and looks good. according to my information i came across, the gpu is indeed well known for its good performance in 3d and full hd playback
(one exception. snes emulator is unplayable slow. but here i too blame the cpu, not gpu)

...sounds good to the fact that I won´t expecting more for this price. Hey 157€ is´nt very much for an 10.1" tablet...
...I´d got also my LG P990 as Android device and smartphone...believe Me...I know what it means being betrayed...no updates...Tegra ? - nVidia ?...I don´t wanna talk about it...lol
It´s rooted and I never got problems with some apps about this fact...ok it´s still on 2.3...thanks LG, by pretending the update comes in May 2012...
I´d send an e-mail to the support of LCpower, by asking about an list of compatible 3g Sticks...10min. later...Answer and an Exel-file with the whole list...great service...´til now...
I just hope that I´d bought 2 "nice" family tablets for a few funny games, sometimes a movie, some social networking...nothing more.
Hope I did´nt misunderstood something here...
...is it only possible with another Explorer (like Astro and ES) to get to the files of an external SD Card or not ???

well, the external sd card behaves a bit strange (at least for my understanding of android)
in short:
we have 2+1 memories in the tablet:
1 internal memory (small, i think 256mb, quite full with the android os and the apps)
1 other internal memory (the 8GB)
1 slot for the sd card, the +1 memory
now, everything begins at / (i figure this is the small internal memory)
the 2nd internal memory with 8gb is mounted under /mnt/sdcard and i believe /sdcard (where i would expect the sdcard!)
the sdcard itself can be found at /mnt/extsd
es file explorer has some trouble with that. if you launch it, it will start in /sdcard
since it does not recognize root, you can not go to /
since you cant type in the path by hand you can not go to /mnt
so apparently you cant browse the sd card with es file explorer (or i havent figured it out yet)
the preinstalled file explorer has no trouble with it at all. in fact, it even actually sends you to the right memory when you tap the corresponding symbols (as preinstalled file explorers go, it is actually not so bad)
ive tried setting up some symlinks but failed. maybe i did it wrong, maybe it just wont work.
another possibility to fix it could be editing fstab. but this could be dangerous and/or cause more problems then it helps
i filed that as a minor inconvenience to be adressed when im bored enough
...
Ok...this means...that I just hope that the Mira2 is accepting my microSD16GB and I can use it quite as normal...
In 2.3 it´s still the structure: " /mnt ---> /mnt/sdcard ---> /mnt/sdcard/_ExternalSD"
Is this structure changed in 4.0 ?

well on my mobile phone (motorola defy with cm7.2) i have /sdcard and /mnt/sdcard - actually being the sdcard
i also have /sd-ext which is empty
i dont know if that is the default for all android versions and/or if there are differences in sd-card mount points in android
however, the behaviour of the phone seems more logical (or its just that i am used to it)
whatever it is... the sd card of the tablet can not be accessed by /mnt/sdcard/ANYTHING
however, further research especially with the es file browser has shown that indeed you can browse the sd-card /mnt/extsd by switching the two in the favorites options.
so, maybe it makes sense, maybe it dont.
maybe its andorid 4.0.4 conform, or not.
what is important is that apps apparently dont mind (they do get installed on the 8gb internal memory mounted at /mnt/sdcard and /sdcard) and so far have yet to refuse to work/show strange behaviour
also, it is possible to move/copy etc files between /mnt/sdcard and /mnt/extsd and browse both directories, at least with the default android file explorer as well as es file browser.
So...a little update...the 2 devices are now in our hands...for about one week...
....and everything I can telling 'bout them...
,,.they're working great. Not a single bad issue, no freezes, and as far as we can see...
...for a price around 160€ there is no better tablet on the market.
Since yesterday I run the game Wild Blood (Unreal Engine 3 Game) which is most famous for an app who killed some tablets and phones...but nit the mira2 ...it's playable.
The device was also rooted "out of the box" but I can't find a single problem with the external SDcard or other USB Hosts I tested.
Sent from my MIRA-2 using xda app-developers app
Had the same issue thanks for the help guys
I been having trouble trying to run Quake 3 Arena CE on my Dell X51V PDA. I did exactly what the install notes say but I get this
"The file 'Q3CE' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file."
I have basically converted the PAK0 file already using the converter it came with and put that in the baseq3 folder. I got the PAK0 file from the full game of Quake 3 Arena on my PC so it should work fine. All I can say that even after I converted the PAK0 file it still is around 440mb so it's a big file but I used a 2GB SD card so I have enough room. The PAK0 file is updated since I was using the latest version of the game on my PC.
I have Windows Mobile 5 on my PDA now basically the original OS that came with the X51V. Also I took the libgles_cm.dll file out since my PDA has hardware acceleration.
This is what I have inside my Q3A folder on my 2GB SD card but doesn't work for some reason.
q3ce.exe
gx.dll
baseq3\q3config.cfg
baseq3\pak0.pk3
baseq3\cgamearm.dll
baseq3\qagamearm.dll
baseq3\uiarm.dll
If someone can help me on this I would truly appreciate it. I would want to play this game when I goto Japan in 2 months from now.
I tried using WM 6.1 and it still shows the same error message. I don't know if the 6.1 version will run better than 5.0 eatherway but both don't run the game. Just wondering but does Quake 3 run better on Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.1 Pro? That's if I do somehow make the game run that is.
Is there anyone here that knows how to run this game? I see a lot of views on this topic but no replys? I really want to make this game work. Please help me.
Btw I did restore back to WM 5.0 since that was the original OS that came with the PDA. I did only wanted to test to see if the 6.1 would work but it didn't same thing happened.
Now there must be something wrong that I did since it doesn't work but all I know is that I put the q3ce.exe and gx.dll file in the Q3A folder and made a new folder called baseq3 and put q3config.cfg, pak0.pk3, cgamearm.dll, qagamearm.dll, uiarm.dll
But that seems to not work since I got the error message. I really need help on this guys. Thanks
Does anyone know how to make this game run on my PDA? What did I need to do exactly to make it run on WM 5.0?
I trust that no one is ignoring me here since I know people here are to help each other but it's strange I get no replies back. Did I post this question on a wrong forum?

I can see from Google that you have posted exactly the same question on at least 5 different computing forums. You're not being ignored, but I suspect that nobody knows, or really cares, about the answer. XDA is, primarily, an Android development site and you are asking about a Windows CE - I suspect that you are going to get no answers to this anywhere unless you are extremely lucky.
