Real VGA on x7510 - Advantage X7510 General

Dear Tobias and friends,
I would like to install Real VGA and the other 2 DPI cab files into my Italian htc x7510 WM 6.1 pro but, beig really a newbye,...WHERE have I to put these files ? In wich Folders ?
2nd Question...Is there any risk ? It seems someone in the forum had problems due to the WM 6.1... Is there someone who tried successfully Real VGA on an Italian version ? With wich precautions ?
Thank you for an answer

I've used RealVGA on my x7510 since I got it w/o any problems at all. Works great and it makes the huge display really worthwhile.
When you install it be sure to install to main memory, not the flash drive or a storage card -- that's true for the RealVGA program and both dpi programs. Then reboot your x7510, open RealVGA, select whichever dpi you want and it will reboot again -- should then work fine.

Hello,
I try to use the sw but I have problems with the excel program, dont run if the realVga is intalled in my HTC 7510 spanish.
when I made the installation I have a message that said: Missind 128 DPI resources
ipsecvpnres.dll is not found.
Can you help me?
thanks a lot

I had a similar problem (not ony with excel but with any program with a box to edit a number).
I think that the problem is with the SIP keyboard that does not work on 96/128 dpi. Install another SIP keyboard (like resco keyboard) and all should work fine again.

Or you could just drop the three files in the attached RAR into your Windows folder...

missing msimit
Thank you all
I installed Real VGA and also the file you suggested but there are still problems:
1) first of all there is a message that msimit.128.dll and msimit.96.dll are missing. Where can i find them ?
2) some programs do not run properly: e.g. in Agenda Fusion 8.60 contacts, the icons commads at the bottom are not displayed.
3) If it will become necessary, how can I go back to the original display ?

you must copy the msim.128.dll and msim.96.dll to another folder, rename it to msimit.128.dll and msimit.96.dll, and copy back to windows-folder
if you want your original display with 192dpi, start real vga and set it to 192dpi, restart, ready. some progs are not working with that, eg s2u2 will not go back to 192dpi

Dear All,
I solved the problem with missing msimit : it was enough a files' rename.
Still open instead the problem with Agenda Fusion 8.6 (Developer One). At 192 dpi works properly but, at 96 and 128 dpi, even working well, the icon buttons at the bottom pages disappear, so that commands are not available.
Anyone knows a way to solve it ?

3rd Party keyboard problems

hello all i have XDA mini S wm5 unit..wanted to load 3rd party keyboard which i can do fine..but can i get the damn things to work !! when selecting the the new keyboard (different language) the unit defaults straight back to the keyboard installed..wont even attempt to show the new one..any ideas ? have even change the registration to different code but even doing that still shows default keyboard..do'h
thanks
Hi plasticplanet!
Sounds like the system can't find the DLL for this keyboard.
The simple solution is to re-install it, and make sure you install it in main memory.
The not so simple solution: If you know the name of the DLL for the keyboard, get a registry editor, search for it under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{keyboards CLSID}\InprocServer32
and make sure the DLL is in fact in the path specified.
There is also a chance that the DLL is present but can not initialize for some reason. You should check the following:
Was the keyboard installed properly with its installer as directed?
Does the keyboard support your OS (WM5)?
Is registration required? (licence, key etc.)
hi levenun...thanks for your suggestion..i contacted one of the 3rd party companies about this problem..apparently in wm5 (fecking bill gates) the rom version i have which is 1.5 has a bug in it..apparently the memory used to change keyboards is the same that is used for today screen..so if you have plug-ins it wont allow you to change certain things...the company DynaType suggested that i switch them off and then try it..and guess what it worked after that i could then activate my today plug-ins once more
thanks for having a think about my problem

No mate, No Blackberry in this ROM probably the next one...
Running it for a few day's now and it's perfect. Thx
Flash junky gotta try........
I just finished installing all my goodies...so far so good.
It's not as snappy as I expected but definately stable, most importantly...everything works. If it survives 2 or more days on my device...you got a winner.
What I liked about this rom is that I use what's already cooked into it...less for me to install & more storage space for me.

Thanks mate, Last night i posted a lil' patch, its on the first post, get it guys!
Hi WizeMan,
I tried your patch but I had to uninstall it. I couldn´t have changed the lanugage in phonepad. It was always in english. After uninstalling it works OK.

I don't quite get it. What do you mean you couldn't change the phonepad language? Please explain me, because the patch does not affect phonepad nor smart dialing... It just has the correct registry values for SMSDRFix and the new .exe for PPCPimBackup (replaces the old one)
If someone has also installed it... post here m8s
With PhonePad you can use T9 in different languages (I use Czech) and if I install your patch it´s no more possible to use another language but english. You can change it, but if you open the settings once again there is selected english. After uninstalling it, czech language works fine. So I´ve installed just SMSDeliveryfix and it also works as it´s supposed to. I haven´t tried just PIM backup. Maybe it´s caused by it.

1. PIM Backup : Backs up your Contacts , SMS-MMS-EMAIL, Caldendar etc, into a file and you can restore it later using again PIM Backup.
2. Sip Config : Is a nice program made by a user of this forum, in order to configure VoIp function of WM6 (the provider)
3. Pocket Media Player is a freeware Video player that can also decode divx files
4. You can Install the Muns' keyboard cab, it will just replace the ROM's msim.96.dll.0409.mui from the Windows Directory. And of course you 'll get your keyboard.
5. You cannot uninstall TC, as it is into the ROM. I also have Resco Explorer but after a Hard Reset TC will be there ready to help you browse the files.
6. No, the software added (except TCMP which is installed from the extended rom) cannot be upgraded with a cab file that comes from the original software makers, because the file locations on a Cooked ROM are completely different. Only if a Chef re-makes the cab to change the file installation locations it will work.

I tested that (The Phone Pad Problem) and it works just fine. Czech is selected, I also wrote sms with Czech T9 and then in the Language settings tab, Czech was still selected. And of course I have the patch installed.
So, I don´t know. Maybe there was another software collision. Never mind. Btw. I still have your rom ;-)

Nice to hear that, I tried to cook the ROM with the most useful Packages so it is has all the needed software to begin with plus its super fast and lightweight.
My first non-offical ROM
Wizeman I thank you for this ROM.
I've been using it for 3 days and i'am pretty happy with it.
Just that automatic lock thing that I don't know how to disable.
Language pack would be a good idea. I have a French (azerty) wizard.
I finaly succeeded changing the setting but the on screen keyboard is still Qwerty. The word completion is now french and english. If a little software can do this correctly this would be very easy for all non-english people around here.
I'm also waiting for the blackberry edition of this ROM.

Approach to make the great TouchPal work on special devices

Oh. I eventually got TouchPal work on one of my friend's device. Very special way...
(if you don't know what is TouchPal, please go to http://www.cootek.com)
Step A> Common steps:
1. Install TouchPal
2. Soft-reset your device
Step B>Check with your device version:
1. Make sure you can find "\Program Files\TouchPal" folder. If it exists, go to Step C directly.
2. If not, try to find another folder named "Programme". If you can find it, copy TouchPal folder, create a folder under root directory named "Program Files" and then paste TouchPal folder into it.
3. Soft-reset and try again.
Step C> If it doesn't work, try the following steps:
1. Install a workable SIP (PocketCM in my case)
2. Install a registry editor (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/phmregistryeditor.shtml)
3. Find the registry key of that SIP under:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\
if it is PocketCM, it is HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\BB25F2EB-688C-4698-ADFC-F422A148AD4F
4. Go to InprocServer32 key, change the "default" value to:
"\Program Files\TouchPal\touchpal.dll"
5. Save and exit
6. Soft-reset your device, TouchPal works now!
Caution: After Step C, your PocketCM doesn't work anymore. You need to change that value back and reboot to make PCM work again. But actually, I don't really need it anymore, do you?
Hope more and more people could use this really cool SIP just like me~
Nice going there.
I assume you are from Germany as you refer to your Program Files folder as being "Programme" - How did you get around the missing dictionary and special characters used in your language (äöß)?
Tried to perfrom your approach on a Dutch Mio PDA I have here, just for testing. Did not manage to get it to work. I will wait for my Touch to arrive in 2 days and give it a go again then. To me all of this sound like a badly written installer for the SIP. But must say the Sip itself looks promising, would even buy it I think.
Found another workaround, based on JerryChan's workaround, so credit goes to him:
This is when installing on anther CE OS then English !!!!!
1. Install TouchPal
2. Install a registry editor (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities...ryeditor.shtml)
3. Find the registry key of that SIP under:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{802C691C-EB46-442c-BC54-DC2C42B156C3}
4. Go to InprocServer32 key, change the "default" value to:
"\<your program files folder name>\TouchPal\touchpal.dll"
5. Save and exit
6. Soft-reset your device, TouchPal works now!
Regards,
John
I am not sure whether it is the bug in SIP or in Windows Mobile. Actually it is quite common that a third-party SIP couldn't run on some Windows Mobile. I actually bet "SIP cannot load on some devices" must be a windows bug. But I think at least, the "Programme" issue must be a setup bug in that SIP. Going to report to CooTek! Hope they can fix this issue in coming release. Overall, TouchPal is still the best!
BTW, I didn't find the way to type those characters. Cannot wait to see international version of TouchPal.

Sorry, John. Seems this approach will kill customized word feature. That is, you cannot add customized word anymore.
I suggest you just use my solution on "Programme" like device.
Thank you so much - I finally got TouchPal working on my HTC Touch !
Now it works! Thanks jerrychan.
@jerrychan,
You are right noticed that also, probably due to hardcoding the path to the dictionary also.
So if you combine both our suggestions, you no longer need to install PocketCM.
John
Hi there
I really would like to use TouchPal as my default SIP but it is rather 'unstable'. Maybe I've installed other SIPs, such as CE Star, Phonepad etc.
Anyway, the steps mentioned here by the two gentlemen seems to be for those who didn't have TouchPal installed in the correct place. For my Trinity Asian ROM (official from HTC), the installation is as per what's being described here, so no changes are needed. But still, TouchPal refused to run sometimes.
Last night I tried installing some XT9 cab files which doesn't seem to work. After that TouchPal didn't run properly anymore. I've to delete it. Sigh..
Not sure what's wrong..

RealVGA on a 7510

Hi All,
I've just got my 7510 (1st time Advantage owner) and have loaded RealVGA on to the 16GB Flash Drive apparently with no problem. Similar to the issues faced by 7500 and 7501 users it screws up the Com Manager. I found the post from Tadeusz back in Aug '07 advising to install the Comm Mgr cooked for the Athena PK v.2 ROM. However, when I try to load the Comm Mgr Cab also on to the Flash Drive it reports that the program does not have sufficient permissions. I know that Tobias has not been around for quite a while. Can anyone else suggest a solution?
Thanks a bunch.
Real VGA on 7510
Well maybe I spoke too soon - I'm now getting a white screen straight after a reset. It seems that the only way to recover is a hard reset. Any thoughts on whether RealVGA will not work on the 7510 after all?

Are you sure it was caused by realVGA? Did you do any soft reset with a third party software such as Tweak2k2? I had that exactly same problem when using Tweak2k2, and the creator of the program explained that his soft reset logic is outdated for the newer OS and advised me to poke into the hole and not use the soft reset feature.
In other word, each time when you're asked to click OK to restart, don't click the ok, but poke into the hole.
May be this is not the problem, but since it is so similar to what I experienced before, I thought you may like to try.

You can ask someone who can copy the .exe file of comm manager who is using the VGA file and just copy & paste that to your ROM then soft reset.

Real VGA on a 7510
Hey Eaglesteve,
Good to hear from anothet Aussie on this - I'm from Melb & Bris before coming to LA six years ago. Actually I don't think it was the realVGA that caused the problem cause it happened again after I reste everything - have not worked out what it was yetbut being more circumspect in reloading the other apps this time.
RealVGA
Thanks for the suggestion cktlcmd. Can anyone respond to give me that .exe file for the tweaked Comm Mgr whilst running realVGA?
Also, would you advise loading realVGA into main memory rather than the flash drive or does it not matter?
Thanks
The rogue program??
At the moment I'm thinking that it was SRS_WOWHD_ARM.CAB that cause the white screen - I hope so cause I am not looking forward to reloading for the eighth time!

It does matter. It should be loaded into main memory. When the OS starts it is building its interface in parallel with setting up devices so it can happen that your SD card is not active yet when the OS needs files for interface.
Thanks Tadeusz. I have it seemingly running successfully with it loaded on to the flash drive rather than the SD card. Does your comment regarding the delay in time for the SC card to wake up apply to flash memory also?
realvga problem
I have just installed the realvga and I have seen the permission problem.
The way to do it is like this. After you installed the realvga, the screen is still in 192dpi (i.e. normal mode). You then install the comm manager, you will not get any problem with permission. then you activate the 96dpi mode from the realvga software. The machine will reboot and you will be ok. At least this is how I did it.
hope this helps,
Sorry to say that I followd your suggestion and I still got 'The program cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions". To clarify I'm trying to load "PK 2.0 kaiser 10B Comm Man for VGA" which was the recommended file. I have tried one with (fixed) in the name as well as one without, and I've tried them both in main memory as well as on the flash drive. I've also tried them both with RealVGA both in main memory and on flash drive? I've even tried loading sdkcerts - no joy.
You have to tweak it from the registry:
Allow the unsigned application to be installed by:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies
Change value 0000101a from 0 to 1
Do a soft reset.
Can you post a screen picture of how this Comm Manager looks at 96dpi? and maybe the Cab file too?
Thanks cktlcmd - the registry change fixed the problem. THere are 3 files that I found - I'm using the PK 2[1].0 file. Actually I've tried all 3 and cannot really see any difference. I've loaded the file on to the on board Flash Drive.
I've attached screen shots - you'll see that it looks fine in 96 and 128, but not good in 192 although it still appears to work. I'm currently running my x7510 in 128.
The things that still do not come across running realVGA are:
1. the Domain Enroll icon under Connection Settings disapears
2. ActiveSysc icon at the foot of the ActiveSync window in Programs is not quite there (no real big issue).
3. All of the program icons disapear from the HTC Launcher selection dialog (where you go to select programs to appear on the launcher grid). Once selected the icons apper on the grid just fine.
The biggest issue I have is that when selected RealOne Player hops all over the screen from landscape to portrait until it finally loads. Looks as if I'm having some issues with Skype also.
Two steps forward ..... one back!?

Hello,
no one find problems with sms apps in 96 dpi display mode ?
Problem with installation...
Hi, got the following error message when I try to run the realVGA. Any advice on how to solve?
"Missing 128 DPI resources: ipsecvpnres.128.dll"
Tried 96 as well, same problem about missing DPI resources. Tried continue but soon get into continuous looping in resetting...
Thanks.

Thanks should be directed to him.
Just copy and paste the needed files to Windows Folder before activating the desired dpi.
Thanks cktlcmd for pointing to the VGA answer!
For my x7510 when i did the 128dpi setting on real VGA it did do everything smaller and a comfortable dpi. Its just all the icons in the "programs" menu are kinda not smoothish, as in they have jagged edges. Thats what i don't really like about RealVGA program is that the graphics kinda look bad.

Kaiser , TYTN II Slim WM 6.1 ROM super Fast and stable

Reserved for bugs
Reserved for bugs
I had lot of troubles with Kaiser Rom's since most of them are packed with a lot of stuff, which in the end degrades the performance, so, I have decided to make a super fast ROM.
Any application you need, you can simply get the cab file for it, so why have it in the ROM? Most applications now can be installed on the SD card, and thus saving the precious space for storage, and most importantly RAM.
I tried many Rom's and all of them were not giving more than 80 MB of RAM on TYTNII, this one gives 101 MB, after installing all the apps.
One benefit for having everything on the ROM, is when the device crash, and you need a hard reset. OEM packages are just automatically installed. Instead, I cooked inside the ROM TAutoInstall, which would automatically lookup the root of the SD card for any cab files, and after the hard reset, will show you a list of the cab files, and prompts you on which one to install.
Apps installed:

Known Issues and how to resolve them
Issue : The right and left soft buttons are not properly configured.
Resolution : While you can add the buttons manually through registry, I am using AEButtons plus which allows to configure many functions for each button.
Issue : Arabization
Resolution : I use FeeJaibi Ain, works perfect with English interface

Yes, Camera V5 is there, and works great, together with HTC photo Album. What is really missing is an MMS application. I did not include it because I am not subscribed to the service

isn't here anyone to help
this now 7 post thread was abandoned over a year ago, so help will be limited. Try a newer 6.5.x rom instead, much more better than 6.1 fo show

I am glad that you liked the ROM, and yes, it is the fastest
Now, here is the catch... There are 2 versions for Kaiser, one is with only one camera, and the other with 2 cameras. This ROM was written for the one with one camera, (the AT&T version) , and all buttons wor out of the box. I have 2 Kaisers, one the AT&T version, and the other, with 2 cameras. For the other one, I used aebuttons plus to configure the buttons to work,as well as add more functions to the buttons, such as double click , tripple click, long press...etc.
