I am going insane sometimes with this phone....
Getting it do the simplest of tasks and behave itself should not be a lot to ask. Too many times i feel like the lag, unresponsiveness, hanging, etc. is just unacceptable. I need this phone for work and can't seem to understand why on earth it can't do such a simple thing as flip the screen and allow me to edit contact details without freezing!
It's not the ROM, i flash pretty regularly, and i would doubt it is my SF installed...
I just now did a soft reset and it still comes back way less than optimal.
Is anyone else as frustrated as i am by this phone?? I just feel like it should be so much more reliable than it is, and at times i feel like my Hermes was better.
Is it that 6.1 is still too new, and i need to go back to 6.0? I need better stability and am ready to sacrifice some cool new looks if that's what it takes to get it.
what ROM are u running on? i have no problems with mine
i have no problems either. what programs do you have installed? i had tnt battery meter installed and it KILLED the performance of my phone. It had a small ram footprint but htere was a 1 second lag per key press while typing and during touch flo use, etc.
maybe you have some program like that too?
I would have to say it is something you installed. I use mine for business as well and do not have any issues with responsiveness. I am constantly running notes or excel as well as adding editing contacts and it snaps right to what I need. The biggest problem I have is my fingers. I tend to try to do things I should be doing with the stylus. Other than that it is ten times the phone that my hermes was. In fact my brother still has his hermes and I hate working on that phone because it isn't nearly as fast or responsive as my fuze.
Right now I have Romeos latest Randium ROM (ROMeOS2_ENG_21042_1954_070409_RAnDIUM)
The only thing I can think of, and I have this installed every time, is Garmin Mobile XT GPS Software.
This goes on every ROM I have, and there's really nothing else I can imagine that could be as big a potential for issues as this (I also have like Google Maps and Lordsmiff's Battery Indicator and a few tweaks and things).
I absolutely live off of my Garmin software, but I guess I will have to try to flash and leave it off and see if that is what is causing the pain. It is becoming too much to bare and if that solves it I suppose I will have to look for another GPS.
Why don't you make a custom 6.5 ROM? 21210 is working so good for me that its not even funny.

so after doing some searching...i think lordsmiff's = tnt battery meter. Try uninstalling it and if it hangs your phone while you are trying to uninstall, you have your problem. Hard reset and install everything BUT Lordsmiff's and your fuze will be 5x faster!
Google TNT battery meter and see if it's teh same thing as whaty ou have if you're doubtful. I was told it's not made for vga screens and that might be what's messing it up. really hope this helps, let us know!
Dont use randium!!!

I tried the Randium edition of ROMeOS but it is too slow!! I switched from ROMeOS to RC3 [just to try it out] then RRE [for a few minutes] and back to the latest build of ROMeOS and I would definitely recommend ROMeOS w/ Raphael Manila!!
The most important thing to me is that my phone should never lag when sliding open and i should never see a lag when typing and ROMeOS handles those well.

I would have to agree that it is probably somewhere between the battery meter and the TF3D2. Before you reflash try turning TF3D2 off and killing the battery program and see if the phone responds better. I know RRE hasn't included TF3D2 in his roms yet because of the bugs still in it.
Yep most likely a problem with one of the Cabs you put on it! I had this same problem with NRGZ28's 041409 build. Installed some of my usual stuff on his new 041609 build and now it is really nice and fast!
This is why I LOVE this forum - You people are AMAZING! What excellent feedback and concern!
The lordsmiff program DID indeed hang my phone when trying to uninstall, and I am trying now to reflash a new ROM and will not install that app and see if that changes things.
I do love that type of notifier though, my eyes so easily find it on the screen so if anyone knows a similar app, please let me know.
I do also agree about the TF3D2 on there, and while i am not sure it's the "problem" for me on my phone, I do notice it's bugs big time. Is there an easy way to tell straight away, if you have TF3D or TF3D2 installed? It also has some serious annoyances to me and i just don't at all like the design of some things that have changed - I hate how the SMS response has changed, and I wind up hitting "back" after typing a mssg (b/c that's where "send" used to be). So annoying after just typing out a mssg. Also the call history screen is trying to be too cute and it's not nearly as functional as the old design (i can't find a way to see my missed/outgoing/incoming calls broken down).
It seems to be very annoying when versions jump so fast from one to the next , before the current/previous version is even optimized. I'm not as into the bleeding edge stuff, i really prefer something that is reliable and just works WELL. It just feels to me like the Touch Pro development stuff moves so fast (at least compared to my experience at the end w my Hermes), but at least others seem to be having good success.
I am trying some of these suggestions now and report back soon. Thank you so much friends!
yeah lots of battery indicators seem to cause problems i had one that ran along the top of the screen it didnt seem to be a problem for a while then it started making the phone lag and freeze constantly
took it off and everything was fine

As of late, my new Fuze (the 3rd one, I exchanged the other ones out because they got kinda scratched up) has been showing poor performance. And then today, the touch screen just stopped working. It still registers the touch, but it's like no matter where I touch it can only go to one of the two soft keys. Has anyone else been having this problem?
I'm going in to switch it out again, but I'm really not sure if I want to keep using the Fuze...overall, it's slow, buggy, and the GPS is trash. I love the phone, but it's just not working.
Are you using the stock ROM or did you use one of the cooked ROMs? I have a Fuze (upgraded from a Tilt) and everything works fine on mine. I read that a lot of people are having issues with the GPS. I did initially --- I could not get any GPS connectivity. I ran HTP GPS Tool and everything worked fine after that. Even after I flash another ROM it works fine. I use TomTom and GoogleMaps regularly and even GoogleMaps can get a GPS lock within 1 minute.
You may want to check the settings for the TouchFlo. Download DiamondTweak and Advanced Config 3.3. They have settings to improve the sensitivity of the touch screen... maybe you need this or at least give it a try.
As for slow, I think this has to do more with the ROM. Since I got my Fuze, the first thing I did was flash one of the cooked ROMs (of course, after HardSPL ).
Good luck.
I'm using the stock ROM, I'm kind of scared to flash a new one. I did all the performance tweaks and it made a pretty big difference, but it's still kind of slow. I can live with it though. The GPS works occasionally, but it isn't nearly as strong as other phones I've used/seen. And the touchscreen problem has nothing to do with the sensitivity, I'm fairly positive it's broken. Like, when I touch somewhere on the screen, it registers the touch as far to the left as possible (ie. I'm trying to close a program or open the task manager and it registers the touch as pressing the Start button). It may have something to do with the fact that I cleaned the screen with a monitor wipe, although I would assume that that shouldn't affect anything. It's just such a coincidence though; I literally used the monitor wipe like 2-3 minutes before it broke or screwed up or whatever. And it's not a software issue. I hard-reset it and it took a good 20 minutes to get past the screen alignment (I think it just gave up on me and went to the next screen). I'm just going to exchange it out for a new one I guess, although I'd really prefer an Xperia X1 at this point (or any point I guess...I just don't want to spend 700 dollars on it)

Dude, I hear ya..... I'm getting the same issue, it registers touch etc, you press your home key it vibrates you softrest with button on back and it starts up and I know its booted WM as I can hear the windows startup sound, It's not the first time this has happened to me, one other time after flashing a cooked rom, It did the same thing then I managed to blindly navigate the device into the bootloader then reflash the device, the screen suddenly decided to come back on at the "tap to setup device" stage, you know with the screen alignment...., then I did like 2 hard resets, cause at the time I thought that this was something to do with it, then everything has been working good as gold up untill last night when I flashed the cooks latest version, it worked for a lil bit but in my messing around with the device, the screen switched off then stayed off, I've been trying the same process that I tryed before, but it's not working, maybe I should of did the 2 hard resets straight away rather then fart arsing around loading cabs etc...?, not sure, as I'm at a loss with this one... maybe it was just on it's way out, upto HTC heaven and there's nothing I can do about it ?, God, I hope not !!, MY next thing I'm going to try is load a stock HTC ROM onto the storage card, and maybe that will work...hmmm??, anyway...do you know anymore or are you at a loss as well ?... Oh BTW, I'm using a Touch HD, with a manilla 2.5, 6.5 ROM, from one of the popular chefs, (I'm not gonna publish the chefs name) as I think it's not really his fault....everyone else seems to be OK, so must be something else, I've wondered sometimes about the amount of writes available on some types of memorys having something to do with it, but it can't be that..?, something with the screen, I've noticed it happens when the battery is running real hot as well !!, anyway if ya find out something, I'm keen to hear as well, as no one seems to be answering my post about it.....
I was excited when I got this phone, everything was going cool and all that....
The battery is the worst thing I have ever seen. I've tried all the radios, got all the power tweaks applied, I get down to 75% battery on EDGE, only texting in less than 5 hours. WTF is this? Is this a joke? It's not even funny! And not to mention the unreliabilty of the phone. I plan to send an email to HTC and ATT to see if I can work out anything. Never buying a phone from HTC again.
I think it's your rom. I get through a full day on H no problem. Which roms have you tried?
Also it could be radio and what most likely is the signal strength. As weaker the signal, as more power required to compensate.
WAAAAHHHH! Don't buy a smart phone then.
I get a full days use. About 2 hours of music playing, signed into an IM client and do some msg and talking and still have 75% at the end of the day.
My guess that its your rom, but i am betting you didn't change the setting in HTC's task manager.
Go to Settings > system > Task manager and change the close action button actually close the buttom. The default action for WM task manager and HTC task manager is to minimize or hide the apps.
So let's say i open WMPlayer, Google Maps, Contacts, Text, Microsoft word. I hit the X, but if i don't change that setting, when i press the X, those programs are still running consuming battery and memory.
Try making sure no unneeded tasks are running and update your radio to 1.14.25.05, and Da_G's 6.5 rom and lets see how ya do next week.

Yo PwnCakes193..
I feel yur agony.. I used to experience shi tty battery life too.. My raphael can only sustained for like 5 hours.. without battery draining applications like music player even running..
However, Things took a turn when i flashed my raphael to the following rom and radio:
ROM Version: ROMeOS v1.95.4 WWE
Radio: 1.12.25.19 (With matching rilphone version)
It is so much better now !! I have calls and sms coming in while Garmin GPS is running for like an hour with battery dropping only 15% from 100% to 75%... !! And i **** u not.. And by the way.. my raphael's been with me for like 5 months now.. I'm loving it more each day..
Good luck and hav fun!
Too advanced for you?

Well go buy an iPhone and stop cluttering our forum. They are made for the mainstream trendy techno gadget people who cant solve their own problems, but still want to look cool and smart in public when they pull out their phone. Neither ATT or HTC is going to change their whole hardware because of your e-mail.
Do you even realize what youre saying? Do you listen to yourself when you talk? First off, anyone that knows how to use their phone, and sets up the correct ROM/RIL/Radio combination gets a full day charge off of it, sometimes even a couple days. Second, do you realize that is a small PC in your pocket, and youre complaining about battery life?? Have you ever used a laptop? You know that brand new laptops only get 2-3 hours of battery life right?
Really, go get a regular phone, HTC phones are not made for everyone, and apparently this one is too complicated for you.
I echo what's been said in above posts and would add as a suggestion only to try the new htc rom with the 1.14.xx radio both are the latest from htc. Boring I know, but very stable. Don't throw your device away without trying it. The custom roms can be frustrating as they can be unstable at times, but very fun to tweak and experiment with.It sounds like yourmore a user who wants stability over the rest. Go to htc site and search for latest rom, try that 1.14 radio and report back.
I use a 1800 mAh battery in my pro and I always charge everynight. Not a big deal. I also have prolly less than the 75% you reported at the same time, another not a big deal. "it is what it is" You can adapt or you can get a diff phone. I have an LG dumb phone my work supplies me for calls only, that battery lasts 2 weeks . LOL!!
wow, harsh words.
It's not like this complaint is an isolated one. There are other forums out there(AT&T, and Howard) that have the same observations about battery life. To say that it is a portable pc and that someone should be happy with 6-8 hours of battery life is pretty silly too. It is a smartphone, like the blackberry, like the treo, like the blackberry. And when people complained about the battery life of the Iphone, it's not like everyone said, deal with it. Apple released another firmware to try and remedy this. Blackberrys seem to go for a couple if not more days without charging with 3G, push email etc running, so why would this not be expected from the Fuze?
I own both the Tilt and the Fuze and find I can squeeze out about 3 days with push email, a bluetooth headset, about an hour or two a day of listening to music through the headset and 3G enabled. The Fuze is supposed to be the successor of the tilt, so wouldn't it be logical to think i should be able to do the same with this product? I have flashed several different roms and radios(with the rilphone.dll) and right now cannot get past 8 hours of usage on it. I thought it was the radio but I have tested it without a sim in it and get the same results. So either the battery is faulty, or it just stinks.
I am going through troubleshooting it right now, and based on some helpful hints on other forums, am trying to discharge the battery fully in hopes that it resets the battery guage.
I think helpful posts, like those that say try a new radio/rom are good ways to respond. Saying "go get an Iphone" or "this is a ppc, deal with the battery" are not helpful to people who search the forums for solutions.
Just my 2(maybe a lot more) cents

Really? Listen a**hole, I know what I'm dealing with. I'm running the 21210 build of 6.5 that I cooked in Da_G's Kitchen with the .20M1 radio AND RIL. Yes, I know i'm being picky, but a phone should last at least a little while, no matter what. I get a full day charge, but just texting and no calling, on EDGE, I should easily be down to 85% in 24 hours. I know it's a small PC, but that is no excuse. I am a mainstream tech savvy person, and I mod/hack everything I own, use everything to it's full potential. I don't want an iPhone because its an overhyped and, in my opinion, horrible phone. I was never trying to look cool when I bought this phone. I even helped a few members out here when they bricked their phones, and I taught a few how to cook ROMs!

The Fuze is supposed to be the successor of the Tilt? I guess according to the order that ATT purchased their HTC phones, but probably not according to HTC...
The HTC Touch Pro is the successor of the Diamond. Just because ATT replaced the Tilt with the Fuze does not mean its the successor. Tmobile is calling the TP2 the "Wing 2" in America, does that mean it's the successor to the wing?? NO. If anything most hardcore HTC follower will agree the TP2 is the successor to the Tilt (kinda obvious isn't it?).
Regardless of what order they came in, or what phone its supposed to replace, the Fuze has a bigger processor, twice as much ram, and twice as high resolution LCD. Its hard to compare the 2 on battery life. My Tilt gets a faster GPS lock, and the battery lasts way longer, than the Fuze. Does that mean its better? NO.
If you're such a badass 'hacker' then you should obviously understand how much power the hardware in your device uses vs the size of the battery.

If you have an honest question where you need help then please ask, and im sure someone will help you get MUCH better battery life! All i really meant by what i was saying before i got sidetracked, is that if you don't like your HTC products, or it doesn't fit your lifestyle like you thought it would, then take it back, and get something else. Just don't come into a HTC forum, and start badmouthing products, because that will get you nowhere, and you should have been expecting the answer you got.
I'm with leak73 on this one. I think this forum is great, but I do think there are too many people that jump on someone as soon as they say anything negative about this phone.
I bought this phone to make my life easier, to manage work and personal tasks on the same device. I thought this device was the one I had been waiting for.
I am also disappointed with the performance of the Raphael. And I don't think it should be asking too much to expect the device to work properly straight out of the box. Yes, I appreciate that this is a windows mobile device that has massive flexibility and can be customised, but those possibilites should be in addition to a stock device that does the basics properly.
I have had a number of issues with the phone - battery life, dailer issues, poor reception (and I know this can contribute to poor battery life, but why should it be so much worse than other devices I have used in the same areas?).
The members on this forum have helped me out a lot over the past few months (which I am very grateful for) tweaking and trying to get this phone to be what it should have been in the first place. And while I am now enjoying tweaking and customising my phone, I will never criticise anyone who points out the shameful fact that this device is virtually unusable without putting time and effort into sorting it out.

I hear that, I can relate as I've had my s**t jumped a few times on this forum as well and I always learned from it. I'm not an expert at all and thats the reason I come here to learn about my various wm devices, currently the touch pro. I undestand the issues especially with battery and stability.Except for battery I don't have any complaints that you mention. My RF which I value as a number 1 priority is very good. No dialer issues here either. I also think it would be nice to have perfectly operating devices right out of the box and considering what we pay for these things, it seems we should get better. In my experience all the wm devices I've ever had have had inadequate batteries. It's just the way it is. I did not expect my pro to be any diff. in that regard. I got it anyway and bought a better battery. In the past few weeks I've tried various 6.5 roms with differing results and none were very stable. It's the way it is and I don't really expect it to be better, but I love it anyway. I've used symbian s60 nokia devices and thought some of the e series have outstanding stability and battery life. So I have choices.
My choice is to continue learning and I'll get extended batteries when I think I need it. When I get tired of the wm BS I'll go back to E series for awhile.
For anyone who is calling themselves proficient in wm and the various ins and outs of flashing and obviously has some experience apparently, I find it kinda strange that they would be surprised by the battery life. Stability can be had from diff rom combos. But bad battery life is a given with wm. we get used to it and move on or go check out e series. It also rocks! Lotsa choices.
Maybe I am one of the unluck ones that have experienced more than my fair share of problems. I have had more issues than I mentioned in my last post - obviously the GPS problem, keyboard lag (although it seams to be fixed now with tweaking), dodgy call acceptance/ring delay (this seems sorted in the new HTC Rom), active sync issues (not sure if this is the software though) and the general lock up issues.
Don't get me wrong though when this device works it is everything I hoped for, I just wish it worked like that all (or at least most) of the time.

what tweaks did you apply to fix the keyboard lag?
wow, boys, calm down. *****ing at each other is oh so productive. maybe we could try to HELP each other out and be friends! just a thought...
i'm getting maybe 12 hours on a full charge running the leaked att stock rom and it's really starting to tick me off. i bought a portable power pack that can give me a full charge on its full charge (Xpal harry II) but i want to be able to get AT LEAST a full day without having to pop it onto a usb or wall charger for 20 minutes. im thinknig of flashing to da_g's or natf's 6.1 roms witihn the next couple weeks hoping that they'd be able to improve my battery life. i'm pretty happy with the radio and i'm in boston so no major signal issues there. maybe it's just a sh*tty rom draining my battery?
and now that i wasted 10 minutes reading this thread, i'm giong to go back to studying for finals. joy.
EDIT: I installed the fuzeberry theme a week or two ago and that's caused a TF3D problem (see my thread here about this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=511760) but is there any chance that THIS is also killing my battery? hate the att manila but i might have to revert back if it gets me more hours :\

****, sorry mate I can't remember now, I changed a setting in the registry and installed a keyboardincrease cab? Maybe others on here will be able to point you in the right direction. I am a noob at this type of stuff really and just follow instructions that members on here suggest - once the problems fixed I forget about it.
nhshah7-
try using a 6.5 ROM I cooked now, it's doing fairly well, i would Hard-SPL, then try and flash a new radio or ROM, should help you out, turn off 3G, which should help. Also download advanceconfig and turn on the power saving items there.
FWIW, I have never had good results with the gps, but since I flashed the htc 5.05.401.1 with radio: 1.14.25.05 I now get very quick lock times. Also battery is a bit better even tho I'm running shell3.
problem solved
Same happened to me in the past and now, well I have to live with it. "Black Screen of Death"
I tried upgrade the radio, and it seems to occur less often and has never happened if I use Energy Titanium 21916 (the version without sense).
It especially happens very often if I use beautiful roms, the eye candy ones sense 2.5 29022.
It happen to all the lovely roms from Mighty, Energy, Sharkie I really would love to use.
The only rom recommend you is the Energy Titanium 21916, though it does not look pro like other glossy ones but it's the most mighty.
One thing you may try is to set it to just CDMA or GSM and at the same time use Bandswitch 2.9 and just force it to stick to what you ask it to do (UMITS or 3G). I do this and it seems to solve the probem.
Good luck

I tried upgrade the radio, and it seems to occur less often and has never happened if I use Energy Titanium 21916 (the version without sense).
One thing you may try is to set it to just CDMA or GSM and at the same time use Bandswitch 2.9 and just force it to stick to what you ask it to do (UMITS or 3G). I do this and it seems to solve the probem.
Good luck

I'm currently using energy titanium 21916. It's still happened to me. Though now it no longer freezes on the standby screen, instead it will not allow me to lock the screen (turns back on again straight away) and no other applications will launch. Effectively requiring me to remove the battery
Bandswitch 2.9 is not free, what does it do exactly? just force a certain frequency?
I found a setting in the rom somewhere to force GSM & 900+2100mhz frequency though it hasn't seemed to help.
I have the exact same issue. Mine started on 8/26 right after I dropped my phone. I've been using XDAndroid as well as this is the only way the phone works properly. As soon as the screen shuts off in Windows, it will not come back on no matter what I try, but everything else works including answering/redialing/ending calls. I'm assuming it's some type of file corruption somewhere since the battery popped out when it fell (which has happened many times). The issue was present from the first power on after the drop. Hopefully someone has an answer to how this can be fixed. Won't matter much if we get a NAND update soon!
thought I should post an update, i've stuck with energy rom titanium 6.1 for now and thus far its been ok. I've not had it freeze after standby, rather it'll refuse to turn the screen off (comes straight back on). But thats because the phone is busy doing whatever it does. If I wait a few seconds it's usually ok
This is still usually caused by the phone after a call, whereby it may hang for some seconds or a minute. I know its not the most ideal solution but it may help narrow down a possible cause. It may or may not be the radio itself at fault but if it is, the freezing is rather a result of the OS. Perhaps the radio is sending something and titanium is able to process whatever it is (albeit slowly) whereas other roms just tend to get stuck on it
I know its not the most ideal solution but giving energy rom titanium a go might be worthwhile if your phone is as crucial to you as it is to me. Besides, i'm actually quite happy with titanium now, it's certainly A LOT faster than sense. And with a drop down menu vs regular start screen it's more intuitive and faster to get around as well
The problem's solved with 6.1 version with SPB mobile shell. Phone works fine now.
I've tried most ROMs that are out for the MT4g, and I can say there is a massive variety. I really love the ability to fly between ROMs like this, but there is one glaring fact that I can't get by: they each have very evident weaknesses.
Yesterday, I flashed MIUI for the second time. The first time didn't last long - I quickly reverted to whatever I was using before, probably CM7 or VU. This time, however, I immediately became enamored by its quickness. Responsiveness I had only found on iDevices previously was very evident - and after installing launcherpro, I had the smoothest and most enjoyable surface-level device you could ask for. Polish was very evident in many parts (The two-pixel tall battery meter that would be above the notification bar was quickly a hit with me.) However, I quickly learned that it was not entirely translated from Chinese - the search button from the homescreen would produce only Chinese results. The registration for MIUI's built-in services was built around Chinese websites. On top of these evident, but manageable, issues, I noticed that music would randomly skip, sometimes multiple songs at a time. This issue kept reappearing in third-party music apps. Also, netflix was plain awful. A notification would lag the video and make the audio be out of sync. And that was only when the video actually worked. I ended up switching ROMs this morning when I accidentally turned screen brightness down to the lowest setting which made the screen permanently black, which for some reason has no method to fix. I was not willing to set everything up again.
Of course, before this I had to have a reason to switch from another ROM, right? CM7 has been my go-to for an acceptable Android experience. It works, but has a good number of rough edges, and isn't the smoothest experience ever. It does, however have many aspects that are universally compatible with almost every other Android device on the market running the same ROM, like the theme manager. Updates come almost every day if you are willing to flash a ROM every once in a while. Under the right circumstances, it is pretty speedy. My dealbreaker with it is poor radio performance. I don't know how MIUI would fit in with radio performance, as I was only on it for a day. Sense ROMs seem to have exemplary radio performance. CM7 randomly drops Wifi and is on edge where sense roms would have one or two bars of HSPA+. In addition, it takes longer for CM7 to actually connect to data services when you want to connect to a webpage or something.
My second most common ROM is Virtuous Unity. I think it has some cool eye candy, and has awesome data performance. Unfortunately this is as far as it goes for me. Sense is bulky. Really bulky. Looking at the built-in process manager shows a constant use of 4/5 of the RAM. This is not OK. I could quickly notice that the graphics performance for everything other than the launcher and certain built-in apps quickly decreased. The same apps would run smoothly on a ROM like CM7.
I guess my point is that it has been a while in the development for this device. Why hasn't anyone made a ROM that can pull the best aspects of these together?:
-The visuals and ludicrous responsiveness of MIUI
-The low resource consumption and crazy customization like CM7, as well as generally good compatibility with media apps
-The outstanding radio performance of Virtuous unity and other Sense ROMs
Maybe I'm completely in the dark here on why this might not be possible. Let me know if there's some ROM that I haven't tried yet that comprises these features and you may have found me my new daily driver.
I don't really know what to say to help ya out.
Running MIUI was fine for me, I never saw any Chinese and I ran MIUI for 2 months straight back in the summer. And the notifications never lagged apps, it bugged me when i was on Navigation, but I would turn that pop up off.
Sense ROM's were fine for me as well, I never experienced the bad graphics that you're talking about. I always played games and everything was fine. Sense always takes up more RAM but that's never an issue, even with Sense 3.0 ROM's you're still left with 100mb's or so. Even with 4/5 of your RAM taken that's not a problem as unused RAM is wasted RAM anyways.
And as for CM7, it's always my favorite and "go-to" ROM. It's always smooth and buttery for me 24/7 and has never slowed up on me. Wifi never drops on me and I get the same radio reception that I get on Sense ROM's.
Maybe you have certain apps installed or something that's causing you to have these weird problems with CM7 and Sense. As for MIUI, I never saw Chinese lettering so now sure how I can respond on that one.
I'm on Miui and I love it. You can overclock it and even undervolt a little too if you want but even overclocking the battery life is still really good.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
on miui right now and pretty content with myself
never saw chinese either personally, and never really felt like i needed to go to the miui site for any support, this place has been great for any issues i've had
as for the screen blacking thing, this is a known issue and is fixed by sliding the "trackball" to the right to bring the brightness back up or knowing where the brightness button on the settings page is.
and i personally feel GPS locks on faster in miui then it does when i was on tdj's 3.5 port. i unno, it took awhile for gps to lock on that but in miui it locks on so quickly lol
if you are really having that hard of a time getting full functionality out of the ROMs you are installing you are doing it wrong.

Everything the OP is talking about is opposite of my experience.
My radio works fine. GPS is zippy on the new leak.
I watch netflix at work ... Ive been through 6 documentaries and 28 episodes of Man Men.
MY experience with all the mentioned ROMs have been great.
If you dont do the recommended steps or do additional research Im gonna have to "+1" the comment above.
Sense: loved the flow of functions, hated the animations & batt life
CM7: Loved the reliability and speed, hated the blandness
MIUI: Love the themes, speed and batt life. Hate the contact manager
(I make my UI look sleeker and more sophisticated than an iphone)
People that dont like it because it looks like an iphone or acts like one is because you let act like one or look like one. You gotta understand all the eatures to appreciate it
MIUI.us has been my everyday ROM for over 2 months now. The only concurrent issue with it is with MIUI Music, where it would entirely lock up the phone even when I followed the advice and disabled certain options in the app that "helped" solve the problem.
Other than that, I haven't seen anything else wrong with it up to this day. I use my phone a whole lot, meaning I watch a lot of youtube videos on it, and even HD TV Shows (Go Kamen Rider Fourze!! ) without any problems whatsoever.
Check out the Doubleshot port if you want to swich to something different every now and then. It's pretty good as well, works great!
Give MIUI.us a second chance, just make sure you wipe everything beforehand. Check everything out and you'll be happy enough once you use it for a while longer, you'll see.
Right now I've got the latest BeatMOD BlissSense ROM with Beats Audio and it's an okay ROM, with the same downside as most Sense ROMs, it is a bit slow here and there.
[EDIT] Oh yeah, about the radio reliability, I've got the best radio results with CM7 and AOSP ROMs. Have you tried flashing the Panache Radio ROM to see if it helps?
Well, that's my two cents
For the Chinese search results hit the search button then menu then change the default search engine.
The only other Chinese I saw was in the themes app, but I find it much easier to get themes from English forum sites.
I'm pretty sure this is a hardware problem but I just want to make sure. I have an HTC Sensation 4G for T-Mobile (using Family Mobile) with Cyanogen Mod 10 installed. The problems I'm having are related to the touch screen. First of all, moving icons is really hard because it's like it doesn't detect that I'm still holding the icon. Thus, if I have an icon on the homescreen that I don't want, I usually have to first drag it up one row, then again and again until I get to the top to remove it. It also sometimes launches the app instead of moving it which is really annoying. The next problem is very similar to this one: whenever I'm scrolling through something (like contacts or a webpage, for example) the scrolling is kinda choppy and it sometimes takes a few swipes for it to actually scroll. It also sometimes opens links or the contact or whatever when I just want to scroll. Finally, long pressing is not reliable at all, it usually just considers it to be a tap. I literally spent like 1 minute yesterday just trying to open a link in a new tab before just giving up.
Oh yeah, I'm also experiencing trouble with the keyboard. Certain keys like "t" "c" and "f" are really hard to press. Whenever I try to type those keys in particular, it chooses the two keys on the sides instead (so if I type "f" it inserts "dg" or "gd" instead). I've installed a different keyboard which has kinda helped but it's still a problem because it slows down my typing to very slow speeds.
So basically, it looks like my screen is messed up, or I though maybe the processor is running too slowly to process the input or something like that. Looks like the screen though because I can sometimes identify "trouble spots" on the screen that cause the aforementioned behavior. Anyone else had problems like this before? I've heard that flashing the right radio can fix things like battery life and performance but I've never heard of something like this before. I bought the phone used on the internet so there's no way to get it repaired (besides paying for it of course, but that's not an option for me right now). The vibration also isn't working so I think it must have been dropped and that's why the vibration and screen are now messed up.

Hi,
I found CM ROMS gave poor screen sensitivity .
Not as bad as you are describing, though.
Have you tried a Sense ROM?
I've never used this rom so I'm not sure weather or not this is a rom issue or not. You can find out by posting this question on their rom site. I have however had similar issues with other roms and the problem was solved once I flashed a different rom. What you can do for testing purposes is download another rom and see if there problem still persists. If it does than you know it's your device. If the issue is gone then the problem would be with the rom itself. Just because no one else is experiencing the issue it does not necessarily mean it's the device. I was using a rom once And had a lot of crazy issues going on. On the rom website they said it must be my device however after I installed a new rom all my issues we're gone never to appear again. So everyone's device is different. Do some testing and that will answer your question. Try out a couple of other roms, if the issue is gone than it was the rom. If it's still present with the other roms then it's your device. Good luck and I wish you the best. Hope this is helpful.

I'll try one today. I've held back from trying different ROMS because I don't want to screw everything up and be left without a phone for a few days. But now it's the weekend so I'll back everything up and try a sense rom.

I tried installing a sense rom but it didn't install correctly. I started the install and one second later it said it was done. When I rebooted it threw me back into Cyanogen Mod 10. Any ideas?
I have elegancia installed now, same problems. i'll be re-installing CM10 since it had some really nice features. I guess I'll just deal with it then.
The only possible solution i can think of is the ground pin.
Check this thread... and i hope it will help you..
