Lotus notes emails on hermes or windows mobile
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello People,
Is there is any way to set a lotus email account on windows mobile, I am aware there is a software that is mnotes but is there is any other free software or specific configurations, i need to sync my work emails on my jasjam, I have tried mnotes but its kind of slow, please let me know if you have any suggestions.
As i replied elsewhere, Dev and Hack thread, and the thread has rightly been locked as it was in the wrong place, try Seven Beta.
I have no experience of using it against a Domino server bu tif you have POP/IMAP access to your server from external then it will work out of the box. Either that or try their Domino specific client, not tried it so can't comment. You may need to talk to your Domino Admin and/or firewall guy to get it all to work.
We tried mNotes and had no speed issues, talk to their tech support they may be able to offer suggestions.

Hi all,
Since acquiring my new Pocket PC, I have noticed that I am only able to ActiveSync with MS Outlook. Is it possible to get the Pocket PC to ActiveSync with Lotus Notes as we use this application for work. Considering I do travel a bit, I would prefer this option and not only ActtiveSync with my home PC which of course does use MS products. I use my Pocket PC with my Thinkpad so I need it to be rather compatible in more ways than one.....
Thanx for any advice,
Sean
this maybe?

otherwise you can google some more using this search

Try mNotes
I have been using mNotes for years now. It's not perfect, but works OK. www.commontime.com
Thanx
Thanx for the quick responses and expert advice. I have subsequently downloaded and installed the software from commonplace. I will test this evening when at home....
Ciao
Sean
Commontime mNotes is not WM5 compatible yet. There is a private beta that has not been disclosed to the public yet. E.t.a. for the release 4-6 weeks :-(
Pumatech Intellisync is not WM5 compatible either. E.t.a. another 4 weeks minimum
Easysync Pro is not WM5 compatible, and IBM has no clue on when it will be.
(Main reason for incompatibility: location of databases has changed in the WM5 model, and sync tools cannot access these databases anymore)
well unless he picked the wrong image for his profile and he dont have an xda1 then it dont matter because there is no 2005 for xda1's
hahaha point taken, forgot to look at the device type concerned
Outlook Notes Connector
M$ provide a free connector that lets you use Outlook to access Lotus Notes messages:

So you may be able to use Activesync and Outlook.
It works
Hi,
I have downloaded and installed the MNotes. So far it is working great. I am able to ActiveSync with my notes app's on my laptop just perfectly......it really helps instead of lugging my laptop from meeting to meeting. Access all my emails that I have sync'ed with, keeping track of all my meetings, telephone numbers and e-mail address etc.......
Now if only I could get my connection with my ISP for WAP, general GPRS and international SMS'es sorted out, this will be perfect......
Thank you all once again for the assistance. You have all been great...
Sean.
i have checked in all opereating systems of windows CE in almost all devices
but there is no support for lotus based emails servers wheather i am contecting via gprs or wi fi
the email box opens perfectly but the buttons of forward reply bcc cc are not visible,
i have done jave aplets and this and that but the problem is still there
now thinking to switch on blackberry for the push email facility
or anyone can tell me that any application can help me
now a days um using treo 750v with wm 6
we have it at work, i'll see if I can find the details for you. Notes/Domino are the biggest pieces of **** i've used in my life (that and the several thousand lotus notes "applications" we have)
cud'nt get u
what application i need for this problem?????
would your goodself be that much kind to tell me in brief?????
Ignoring the anti-Domino stance of the first respondent i would suggest you investigate CommonTime. They do a server side push email system designed for WM devices as well as Symbian.
If what you are looking for is a mobile version of DWA then i think you are going to have to wait until your Domino servers are upgraded to version 8.
oh my God
i cant bel that i gonna have solve my problem of email
that was a kind info thx
let me try that soft first
You may also want to try out Seven Beta, they also do a push email soultion for Domino/Exchange and all manner of third party POP/SMTP servers.
Forgot to add this is also a FREE option.

If your domino server is on version 8 or above you can use IBM Notes Traveler http://www-01.ibm.com/software/lotus/products/notes/traveler.html
it's far better than MSFT solution because it allows you to replicate signed and encrypted email. that's only my opinion

no, that server is version 7
Hi guys, I have my HTC Diamond / Windows Mobile 6.1 and wondered if it is possible to link this up to my domino mail server.
Has anyone here been able to do so, I guess it would have to use POP3 or IMAP if possible?
As a confirmed Lotus Notes user i would suggest looking at:
CommonTime to provide proper push email from your Domino server to WM devices. This means you don't need to enable IMAP or POP3
Other suggestion is to use [http://community.seven.com/main.php]Seven Beta[/url] which will poll your server and then forward to your WM device. Not used this myself for Domino so can't pass comment but they seem to have offerings aimed at Domino users.
Hi Deedee, thanks for the info. Ill look into that one
Thanks
Hello dudes, I am new on the forum, i tried several roms either on the former touch cruise and on my X1.
I don't know where to find an answer to this question. So I maybe ask here.
I am really annoyed by he fact that my pc (windows XP sp2, outlook 2002 - 2003 and now 2007, AS 4.5 build 5096) does NOT syncronize, on my device, items which contain any note, and as well the emails in HTML format.
For example, if a contact has a photo or a note, or an appointment has anything written in the "notes" field, i will have not a chance to see it on the PDA.
Also the emails, I cannot see the emails i received in Outlook if they are in HTML format.
You understand that in this way it is completely useless to have a mobile device.
I have no idea how to solve, or what can be the problem. In Outlook I have stored like 12.000 emails (only in the inbox) and something like 700 contacts, maybe is toomuch for the phone?
If I would switch to windows vista, would be fine?
I hope you can help me!
Hi,
New to the smart-phone world.
I use Thuderbird on my PC. Is it possible to set up my email on my HTC HD2 so that if I receive an email on the phone, I can then sync/view it to my PC thunderbird program?
Many thanks
Dan
I use BirdieSync for this (www.birdiesync.com)
It is not free ($19.95) but it's worth the money.
BirdieSync uses the default ActiveSync / Windows Mobile Device Center connections to synchronize. Works great.
There seems to be another (free) solution with Gmail, but I didn't try that.
With some plugin you can syncronize your mail to Google and read it from the Google server with your HD2.
If you like this option more, maybe someone else who is already using this can provide you with more information, or maybe some more information can be found using the forum search.
Hmm, may be easier to just change the mail server to IMAP and do it that way.
Thanks
IMAP can be used for the mail ofcourse.
BirdieSync can also handle your contacts, appointments, tasks, etc.
