ActivSync with lotus Notes - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

Hi all,
Since acquiring my new Pocket PC, I have noticed that I am only able to ActiveSync with MS Outlook. Is it possible to get the Pocket PC to ActiveSync with Lotus Notes as we use this application for work. Considering I do travel a bit, I would prefer this option and not only ActtiveSync with my home PC which of course does use MS products. I use my Pocket PC with my Thinkpad so I need it to be rather compatible in more ways than one.....
Thanx for any advice,
Sean

this maybe?

otherwise you can google some more using this search

Try mNotes
I have been using mNotes for years now. It's not perfect, but works OK. www.commontime.com

Thanx
Thanx for the quick responses and expert advice. I have subsequently downloaded and installed the software from commonplace. I will test this evening when at home....
Ciao
Sean

Commontime mNotes is not WM5 compatible yet. There is a private beta that has not been disclosed to the public yet. E.t.a. for the release 4-6 weeks :-(
Pumatech Intellisync is not WM5 compatible either. E.t.a. another 4 weeks minimum
Easysync Pro is not WM5 compatible, and IBM has no clue on when it will be.
(Main reason for incompatibility: location of databases has changed in the WM5 model, and sync tools cannot access these databases anymore)

well unless he picked the wrong image for his profile and he dont have an xda1 then it dont matter because there is no 2005 for xda1's

hahaha point taken, forgot to look at the device type concerned

Outlook Notes Connector
M$ provide a free connector that lets you use Outlook to access Lotus Notes messages:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...59-5F17-4E52-8980-C4F0DFA92D65&displaylang=en
So you may be able to use Activesync and Outlook.

It works
Hi,
I have downloaded and installed the MNotes. So far it is working great. I am able to ActiveSync with my notes app's on my laptop just perfectly......it really helps instead of lugging my laptop from meeting to meeting. Access all my emails that I have sync'ed with, keeping track of all my meetings, telephone numbers and e-mail address etc.......
Now if only I could get my connection with my ISP for WAP, general GPRS and international SMS'es sorted out, this will be perfect......
Thank you all once again for the assistance. You have all been great...
Sean.

SWEET! A repalcement Calendar that kicks PI adn AF ass!

http://www.odysseyinc.com/Software/On-Schedule/FRAMESET_Remote_ROSSync_index.htm
I am so looking forward to trying this.. It supports Public Folders on Exchange Server over the DAM INTERNET! Finally..
8) Now you can have multiple folders and Contacts and Calendars and just about every ddam thing you can use in Outlook 2003 with an Exchange server... Even Outlook Small BUsiness Manager.
I do not think the program can dial from the Contacts, (when I tried it a few months ago it could not), but I think it is on their list of things to do.
Pocket Informant and Agenda Fusion SUCK after trying this.
A reply from them, "ROSSync was developed primarily for the Enterprise user. The price for ROSSync for up to 25 users is $1,200 and it includes 5 user licenses of Pocket On-Schedule."
Dam.. I was hopeing it was affordable!

WM5 activesync with two PCs / 2 PCs

I am working for two companies and have to keep both Outlook/Exchange agendas up-to-date. Until now I did this by plugging my Qtek S100 (WM 2003) into each of the PCs. As we know, this is no longer possible with WM5.
Has by now anybody found a solution or an elegant work-around, or do I have to stick to two PDAs, one for sync reason? Thank you and best regards, Stefan
why is it impossible with wm2005?
i sync with everything on my desktop at home
and sync with calender and tasks and notes and favourites
on my laptop at work it works without any problems at all
You can sync everything from both into your one device, but you would need Intellisync. It would not be set-up as an exchange source on the device, simply as 2 seperate PC's.
Obviously having the two set-up means you would not be able to sync with your home PC because you're limited to 2 ActiveSync PC connections, but you could still set-up your own Exchange source with any of the push mail providers to do this.

He mentions Outlook and Exchange. 2 Outlooks isn't a problem, but 2 Exchanges is.
2 Exchange Servers the Problem?
That is not my experience with WM5.
When establishing the partnership with Outlook1 I have to decide if I want to sync my calendar with that Outlook - which I do want.
Upon establishing the partnership with Outlook2 I cannot choose calendar to sync with Outlook2 as it is already being occupied by Outlook1.
And yes, behind both Outlook is (a different) Exchange Server, but I would not need to sync with the Exchange Server directly, synching with both Outlooks would be good enough.
Thank you AlanJC!
Thank you Alan, your hint lead me to a working solution.
I synchronize Agenda, Contacts and Tasks with Exchange Server 1 via Server Synchronization.
I synchronize Agenda, Contacts and Tasks with Outlook 2 using XTNDConnectPC, which allows me to synchronize the data of my WM5 Smartphone with the contents of the Outlook-Client.
BTW: Intellisync worked as well, but had some flaws in "forgetting" to synchronize certain Calendar entries with other people participating. XTNDConnectPC does not seem to have that problem.
Thank you again, Alan!

Alternative to outlook.

Hello.
Is there an alternative around for outlook? both desktop and/or pda? that allows sync? (calendar, contacts and email, notes, etc...) i really hate outllook. its slow and lags alot....
if anyone have any ideas?
all the best
OliveiraJMR.
If you only want to sync your desktop, take a look at, say, IntelliSync or, to a lesser degree, mNotes.
If with an Exchange server, you can do it too.
But is there any way to use for instance thunderbird?
FinchSync allows you to syncronize Pocket Outlook with Thunderbird. It is said to syncronize contacts, appointments and tasks between Windows Mobile and Thunderbird/Sunbird.
I haven't tested it yet.

Forgot to mention:
http://synchingthunder.sourceforge.net/
It allows one to synchronize Thunderbird installation between different computers. Not exactly what you are looking for, but it may have its uses.
(I failed to get it to work on my system though)
Jörg
Thank you.
Hi there!
First, thank you all for all your kick awnsers!!
I found another program, payware, that lets you sync pocket pc and thunderbird. its called birdie sync http://www.birdiesync.com/home.html shame it doesnt let you, for now they say, sync email...
talking about e-mail... this is exactly what i cant find!! some sort of way to sync pocket pc and thunderbird email.....any ideas?
Another idiea would be putting thunderbird to sych with an outlook.pst file and the user regular active sync...
All the best,
Joao Oliveira.
.
I'm not sure if there already are applications that synchronize the emails (haven't came across any), but it will probabely come...
I also haven't found software to synchronize an Outlook (on the PC) with a ThunderBird.
Jörg
I would love to sync my contacts and appointments with GMail, is there anyway possible. I found Goosync for appointments, but nothing for the contacts file (which is what i REALLY want).
Any ideas?
Birdiesync.
Hello All!
Looks like birdiesync is now supporting e-mail sync.
So you can now actually sync windows mobile 5 with Thunderbird. It supports besides mail, calendar (using sunbird/lightning beta) calendar and tasks.
I'm still testing it.. they have a fully functional trial version that works for 30 days. if you like it you can buy it for 24,95dolars.
all the best,
Joao.

Outlook-Help Please???

I am very new to the whole Palm thing but not to the computer thing. Anyway... I have had a regular cell phone for years of course but I really wanted to get my msn mail on my phone and also have a date book ect. So I got the crackberry but the only way I could get the MSN mail was to sign in to the web and go about it that way. What I was looking for was for the phone to just tell me I had a new message. I do have the paid version of MSN so I am able to check it through outlook on my laptop. Anyway... Thanks you do guys I have been able to at least get Microsoft Live onto my Trio 750 and as soon as I got it I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.0 (thinking that might have been a mistake now). How in the world do I import all of my Outlook Express contacts from my laptop to this damn phone. Also is there anyway I can set-up outlook on the phone to check my various accounts (msn, Verizon, work)? Please please help and again I am sorry I am sure this is a neeewbe question.
Thanks again,
Glenn
Im not sure if you have already done this, but did you install and set up activesync. Activesync is a program that interfaces your treo with your laptop and there is also an option in activesync to save your contacts from outlook to you treo. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/activesync45.mspx Go there to download activesync 4.5, it is the latest one. Make sure you scroll towards the bottom of the page and click on the link that says "Worldwide English" Hope this answers you question.

Lotus based email servers

i have checked in all opereating systems of windows CE in almost all devices
but there is no support for lotus based emails servers wheather i am contecting via gprs or wi fi
the email box opens perfectly but the buttons of forward reply bcc cc are not visible,
i have done jave aplets and this and that but the problem is still there
now thinking to switch on blackberry for the push email facility
or anyone can tell me that any application can help me
now a days um using treo 750v with wm 6
we have it at work, i'll see if I can find the details for you. Notes/Domino are the biggest pieces of **** i've used in my life (that and the several thousand lotus notes "applications" we have)
cud'nt get u
what application i need for this problem?????
would your goodself be that much kind to tell me in brief?????
Ignoring the anti-Domino stance of the first respondent i would suggest you investigate CommonTime. They do a server side push email system designed for WM devices as well as Symbian.
If what you are looking for is a mobile version of DWA then i think you are going to have to wait until your Domino servers are upgraded to version 8.
oh my God
i cant bel that i gonna have solve my problem of email
that was a kind info thx
let me try that soft first
You may also want to try out Seven Beta, they also do a push email soultion for Domino/Exchange and all manner of third party POP/SMTP servers.
Forgot to add this is also a FREE option.

If your domino server is on version 8 or above you can use IBM Notes Traveler http://www-01.ibm.com/software/lotus/products/notes/traveler.html
it's far better than MSFT solution because it allows you to replicate signed and encrypted email. that's only my opinion
