Okay, so I have a rooted G1 with Cyanogen 4.0.2 and whenever i boot a new image it just hangs at the g1 logo, so i try to reboot without the sd card and it works, but sometimes i turn my phone off and turn it back on with the sd card in the screen goes blank after the shining android screen but only sometimes. BTW if it matters my g1 is unable to mount via usb. It unmounts right after i press the mount button.
Hi. I'm trying to use the nookhoney04 image to boot my nook color from a 4GB microSD card. I used a Mac to download the image file, decompress it, and Terminal to write the image to the drive. When I try to boot from the SD card, I get a short message from the Nook that says "Loading". Then I get really small message in landscape mode that says "Android" with a blinking cursor. This message never goes away.
I put the SD card back into my Mac, and it is showing 2 devices for the the card: boot and sdcard. In Terminal, using the diskutil list command, the card is still under the same Disk#, but I cannot unmount it to start the process over again.
Any advice?
Never mind. I just remade the microSD root image on a PC and it loaded just fine. Not sure why it didn't work with the mac. After using for a couple of days, I switched back to Froyo 2.2 using the REV311 rom. Very stable.
Hey guys,
I need a lil help! Searched all over but couldnt find a solution. So I was trying to go back to stock. I formatted my SDcard via gparted to FAT32 and rebooted my phone into bootloader. Flashed an SBF with sbf_flash. Now when my phone starts up the SD card is stuck at Preparing SD card searching for errors. If I allow my screen to time out, it gets stuck and pressing the unlock button only gives me flashing lights for the buttons below. I remember some other people having this problem but for me I think it has specifically to do with the SD card because when I remove it and boot everything seems to be fine.
So I tried connecting the phone via USB to my computer. I set the screen to never time out to avoid the black screen and flashing lights thingy. Gparted does not recognize the SDcard, when I select mass storage. Strangely the disk utility in ubuntu recognizes that something is mounted /dev/sdb/ but cannot format or anything and it doesnt show the size of the directory.
In the phone options the card is not mounted so I cannot format via the phone. I dont own a carder reader and where I live itll be really hard to find one. I tried on a windows computer but that didnt recognize the phone at all.
One thing though, I rooted the phone and I can get into adb shell. In adb it shows me an /sdcard/ directory. I was wondering is there any way I can format my SD card using adb?
Thanks for all the help! Cheers!
Never mind, I fixed it. Seems like rooting and logging into adb shell did something to mount it in the phone. Thanks!

Hello guys. I am a first time rooter. I followed this root guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084 all worked and I have tried 3 different roms. The only thing that faile dto work was Gparted, it does not recognise my SD card. I only see my PC HD.
I have tried restarting it, using a different SD card but still the same issue. The whole point of me rooting my desire was so that I could free up space. Is there another simple program I can use to partition my SD?
Thanks
Ryan
I use MiniTool Partition Wizard to partition my SD cards. I like it better than GParted b/c you can format an EXT partition without any data loss on the FAT partition.
Help! I flashed the revolver 4 rom but now my tablet won't boot up! Ran the superwipe script followed by the rom flash and then 1.3.1 over that. The tablet just stays at the asus logo. What can i do??
You can enter apx mode and flash HC via nvflash.
I've done this twice in the last few days
I'm stuck in that boat as well. I cannot enter APX mode. HAs anyone else had this issue?
Frustrated.
Thanks
If you can still go into recovery...repeat the process except let the tablet boot without doing the. 1 update. If the Asus logo is animated...its still loading. It may take a couple minutes.
when I try to mount SD card in recovery,
I get
E: can't mount SD
IT will not recognize the external SD either.
Any ideas?

Why are you trying to mount the SD card? You shouldn't need to do that if you are just flashing roms. If you are trying to access the external SD...you need the rogue version of cwm recovery.
That message came up when I wanted to install zip from sd card. When I toggle to the sd file, I get that message. E; can't mount SD card.
IT confused me too.
I have a recurring issue. When I am doing some messing around on my phone I always back up the data and make a recovery image. After that I store it on the PC before delving into the tweaking. Sometimes when the OS is loading for the 1st time it takes ages and just doesnt go any further. After that I need to force boot the phone. At this point I need to use recovery to get things back to scratch so I go into TWRP and try restore.
Now the funny thing. The SD card is blocked. I see all the root folders but no SD card. So now what??? The moment i plug it into the PC it asks me to format my SD card in order to mount it. double crap!!! so now if I had left my backup on the phone what should be my course of action???
In case the SD card gets locked while getting a ROM to work, how will i access my backup? Is there no way to force mount the sd card partition using adb somehow? Some way to retrieve my backup.
u have to unlock it with the very phone u used to lock it. it will not b recognised on the PC and u cannot mount it.
