Hi
I couldnt find anywhere, i thought this question was ovious.
in my sim card, i have contact name mark with /m or /h or /w for mobile, home, and work. for exemple ''Jonh/m'' means jonh cell phone.
and i have some thing like this
jonh /h 514-248-4535
jonh /w 514-234-7854
Jonh /m 514-234-5665
when i tranfer it to my phone, it have exactly the same structure.
There is some way to merge it togerter under the same name with different categories for mobile and work and home number and so on?
one other thing is how to hide SIM contact, beacause once you have transfered your contact list to your phone, in contact list of the phone, it showed duplicated contact.
sorry for my english.
thank.
Any one?
Do i in the wrong forum or section?
NO, SIM Contacts are basic information, it would serve you better to just add your contacts using outlook if you have it, back up your outlook contacts any time you make any changes.
If you don't have outlook, PIM Backup works well for managing your contacts from the phone, just dont restore a backup from PIM and then try syncing with outlook that is already populated, you will get double listings, use one as your primary and the other as an emergency if you use both.
You can hide SIM contacts useing a tweak tool, kaiser tweak unfortunatley has to be adjusted after each reset for that setting. There is another tool similar that does work even after resets, just becareful using it on a kaiser, I ran into some sereous crashes adjusting things that varied in the kaiser with it, Unfortunately I cant remember who made it (Dutty tends to load it up in his roms)
Another option is to use a contact replacement program, I use "Finger Fiendly Friends", it filters out sims, I think Pocket CM filters them also. iContact at this time does not.
I hope this has answered your questions.
Hi guys,
just bought myself a orbit 2 smartphone,
i would like to add contacts with a picture to the htc cube intalled on this phone.
Wen i try to add a contact, it shows me my sim contacts, and not the outlook contacts containing a picture. I really can't find out why it wont show my outlook contacts.
Maybe you guys have a clue ?
Thankzzz
No one ?
Please give me a hand, sorry if this is a newbie question,
but get me going, i can't find any other persons with this problem.
Bump Up we go
Are those contacts (Outlook) available, when you click
on the "Kontakte" Softkey on the left bottom on the Today screen?
Normally the cube uses the same database as all the others.
This means, if you want to add a contact by clicking the + in
the cube it enters the default contacts application where you
choose the contact. It is, however possible to hide the sim
contacts from showing, but never heard it viceversa
You are using the orbit 2 with O2 Rom "out of the box", right?
Olioaglio
Hi olioaglio,
Thank you so much for the reply!
If i use the green phonecall button and then left on the bottem off the screen enter the contacts. Then yes i can see my sim contacts and my outlook contacts.
If however i go to the cube and press an emty photoframe to add a contact to the cube, i see a contact window but no outlook contacts in the list, very bizar! I can however make a new one, menu --> new contact, and then make a outlook contact, but when its made, it doens't show in the menu, so i really cant find a way to do it !?
Im running a O2 rom out of the box, with wm 6.
Its better for me to show you
so i made a little screen video
You can find it here: http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=X752XJWJ
Hope you guys have megaupload acounts, i can upload it anywere you like.
just ask
Thanks!
does anyone have an idea what i could do? Based on the video?
Bump, please help me out guys!
Dear all,
I'm using Business Contact Manager in my company to keep track of all contacts, i like to keep a copy on my Touch Pro to have info on the road. Unfortunately when moving from my Hermes to my new Touch Pro, Business Contact Manager for PPC looks completely messed up.
Are there any solutions for that? Is there software that can make it think it's in Qvga? of is that too simple?
Any help is appreciated.
I have a Sprint Touch Pro 2. From the last 2 years, I have over 14,000 text messages (I had imported it from my Touch, then my Diamond, then my Touch Pro, and finally to my Pro2). It used to be a lot more, but I pruned it down..
The issue is, my phone is VERY slow when I hit the contacts list or go to check my texts.. the phone will literally freeze for 5 seconds or more.. I tried wiping the device and importing, but as soon as I reimport the texts, the same issue arises. Threading also doesn't work, as the device just gets bogged down trying to sort all of them. I have tried doing this a couple of times at night, with no success.
I obviously don't need this many texts on my phone... But I do want to keep an archive of them on my PC. Preferably showing a threaded view.
I know Exchange 2010 will download SMS, but I can't upgrade from Exchange 2007 till DPM 2010 comes out as well (sometime next year).
I have found a couple apps (see links below), but most of them work by working with the live database.. so, nothing permanently downloaded.. And if you try deleting stuff, it needs to redownload everything again.. crashing half the time because of the size of the SMS database. I did find one app, but it doesn't have a threaded view and costs $$. All of them aren't being worked on anymore.
Online is no help either. Dashwire is not showing me any text since April, plus it is closing end of the year. MiQ, is freezing up the phone and the ads are very irritating. Microsoft My Phone shows ALL my texts, but is showing only a few per page (I would need to click a couple thousand pages to clean up the phone). Also, it is not threaded either.
So, if anyone knows a web/desktop app that can show threaded SMS conversations and after editing, you can sync the updated list back to your phone... Plus won't choke on the large amounts of texts.
The stuff I've tried but were no good:

I used jeyo mobile extender and it was awesome. Only downside is I can't get it to work in Outlook 2010 Beta. But it is a great program and I highly recommend it.
I have tried Jeyo Mobile Companion and am testing it our currently. Jeyo Mobile Extender doesn't show threaded view.
Jeyo Mobile Companion hasn't hung when I am downloading all the texts... And there is a threaded view you can do for individual people. The only issues I am having with it are:
1.) To edit the texts, such as moving them to folders or deleting them, the phone has to be attached as it is doing it live. I would much rather have everything done offline, and then when completed, it would resynch back to the phone.
2.) When looking at threaded view, I will try and change the colors of either my text or the person's text I am talking to, but this function does not work correctly and colorizes only parts.
why is it the contacts list does not integrate with the winmo contact list? do i really have to add the contacts in sms chat one by one?
is there any solutions?
Mine integrates can you give some more info? Which version of phone, SMS Chat, OS etc.
i am actually using omnia 1 with spb mobil shell installed. sms chat is v1.25
one thing to note is that all my contacts are at my sim card and not in my phone memory!
ive got it worked! but i got another problem.
i linked spb mobile shell shortcut sms to sms chat and it works fine.

I installed SMS-Chat two days ago, and I kind of like it. There is however something that bugs me, and I think you have the solution. How exactly did you link SPB Mobile Shell sms shortcut to SMS-Chat? I just want SMS-Chat to be my default sms client.

I found my solution at this other thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466276
I have another question related to the solution that I'll post over there. Thanks for the hint in your post!
