Hello all,
I am a new member here and hope to learn a lot from all of you!
After much urging by my friends, I now have a new HTC Touch Pro phone. My former phone was a Skype Phone from the 3 Network. I have managed to save 25 SMS messages from my old phone to my SIM card, but have no way of transferring it to the Touch Pro. As someone who is new to smart phones, I have no idea how to transfer these messages.
I am able to view these messages in the Message section and am also able to view my contacts and SMS capacity in the SIMS Manager section, but simply can't find a way of transferring them. Being a beginner, I hope someone can give me a simple explanation of how to do this?
As some of these messages hold much sentimental value, I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could help me keep these messages, which hold wonderful memories. Much appreciated!!!

I'm really interested in getting one of these phones, I currently have a Blue Angel which has about 15000 sms messages on it. I'd like to transfer these onto the device so I have a copy of my texting past (thoughts on the possibility of this would be gratefully recieved). I also get a good 2000 texts or so a month - Is this going to be an issue on this phone? Can it handle the storage of so many texts? Is there anyway to change the settings to allow the storage of the messages on the miniSD card?
Anyone know the answers to any of these questions?
Thanks in advance
You get around 70 texts a day?!
Carumba.
Maybe some kind of teleprinter would be a better option than a new phone?
Give or take, most of my texts are 2 or 3 texts long - i.e. well over the 160 limit hence the amount.
I think that will probably change a bit now i have a smaller screen and don't have a qwerty keyboard - I get into the mindset i'm sending emails.
::Edit::
Just adding now that i've just read the review on mobiletechreview (http://www.mobiletechreview.com/phones/imate_sp5m.htm) and noticed it says that you can only send texts up to 640characters (4 texts) this would also be a problem, any ideas if this can be modified with a registry edit or something?
Could anyone please help i have been using windows mobile phones for a few years now and like the fact i use to be able to save individual text messages from people into individual folders for different people.
But i dont seem to be able to do this with my HTC HD2 windows mobile 6.5 is there any way i can do this or use an application that anyone knows of which might be able to do this i dont like the new conversation mode and always try to use the tradidtional mode.
Please help anyone.
I am also very interested in this issue.
I use phone for bussiness, and often I receive important messages - with bank account numbers, details customer information, etc.
Many of those I would like to keep in folder "Important"
Is it possible to do it somehow?
Kind regards, Maciek
Hey everyone,
my question is rather simple. Does anyone know of a program, that I could use to send text messages from the computer, rather than my touch pro 2?
Managing sms from the computer would be nice aswell, but it's not necessary.
Thanks a lot.

A quick bit of googling for FreeSMS 1.4.6 should point you in the right direction! I have no idea if its freeware or not!
Thanks...
But I was thinking more in the likes of this:
Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Outlook SMS Add-in (MOSA)
(I can't post outside links)
Ideally, I would like a software, that connects to the TP2, gets all the texts, manages them and lets me write texts to phone numbers stored on the phone.
Hi again,
Yippie! I found one.
Here it goes:
Efficasoft Mobile Express
Moved as not software release.
Go to txt2day.com voila!

Hey guys,
I'm looking to ditch my Desire in a month or two for a Samsung Focus, the only problem is that I want to save a LOT of my SMS messages to my SIM card, but haven't found one solution to this. I've searched around for an app that can export all of my messages to my SIM (not just one-by-one), but haven't found anything. I know there's apps that export your SMS stuff to the microSD card, but I'm pretty sure the only way to retrieve your old SMS messages on Windows Phone 7 (at least from vacating another OS) is to grab them from your SIM card. I've looked around and have found some Gmail apps that backup your messages to your Gmail account, but that is not what I'm looking for.
If any of you guys can give some advice on how to do this, please respond as soon as you can. I really would hate to lose 3800 messages.
Thanks!
I am thinking about switching to Android, from Iphone X, and I have 5 years of SMS text message threads which I do not want to lose. Is there any way to do this easily when I switch to Android? Will I lose all those SMS conversations ? Your recommendations, insights and guidance is greatly appreciated.
Do you mean you want to transfer text messages from your iPhone to Android? Actually, it's not that difficult. You can do that directly via 4 ways: mobile transfer software, SIM Card, Samsung Smart Switch, iTunes and iSMS2Droid. Please search the details online and choose the way you like better. Hope this will be your help.
It can be quite easy using any data transfer software, such as Mobikin Transfer, Move to Android, SHAREit, FileTransfer. You can quickly transfer the messages from iPhone to Android with this tool.
