Need some Tipps Holiday or ADP - G1 Android Development

Hi,
now I have the Official Holiday Firmwae 1.1 with Holiday Bootloader on my G1.
But I dont know if I should switch to ADP1.1 from HTC with Engeneer Bootloader.
Did anybody know if Holiday Phones has OTA Updates? Did you think Latitude comes for ADP1.1?
I develop for G1 but I can test the Software on my Holiday too. But I dont know if Google check the Imei sometime an I didnt get any update anymore...
Any big diffrents between the both versions?
Thx.

No Need
I had 1.1 Holiday installed, and it does NOT change your bootloader. The bootloader is not effected by firmware updates, if you have an ADP, you'll always have your Eng Bootloader (Unless you flash the HardSPL.)
As far as differences, it was my understanding that the updates were the same, the reason the Holiday version is called "Holiday" is because it was given out early to the Google Dev's as a Holiday bonus. The HTC version is just the official version as the Holiday versions were leaked.
In short, don't update, its the same firmware.

Where he Holiday Update comes they told me that the bootloader not mismatch so I downgraded my Bootloader...
I thank ADP dont get OTA Update?

The holiday OTA update came with a bootloader. You would have received this if you initially installed (manually) the original holiday image. If you installed the holiday update manually, you kept the original bootloader.
Both holiday and adp have latitude, it is just not activated -- same as with UK RC9. There is a thread about that somewhere around here that describes how to enable latitude.
Regarding choice between holiday and adp... choose adp and either engineering or hard spl. You never know what the future holiday updates are going to look like since the holiday phone is being treated somewhat differently than adp.

Mhmm in Holiday Version Latitude is enabled...
The ADP Firmware just published by HTC direct right?

That is because you manually installed the holiday firmware at some point before the OTA update came in.

T-mo UK pushing out G1 OTA Updates

Just woke up this morning and turned my alarm off on my G1.
When I took a second look I had a notification of an update avalible. As a method has been found to get root with the lower firmware, im going to hold off the update and rename my certs ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443328 )
Im unclear at what version number this UK update will be, but take it that if the downloadable update is released, then this can be altered to still allow root access (ala JF's rc30 update)

Yeah, there's a couple of people over on the google group for android saying they've got the update. can't get one of them to post the full build so we can start to yank it from google yet though. Could you see if it's in /cache on your phone?
Looks like the uK build is kila_uk-user 1.0 TC5-RC8 116470 ota-rel-keys,release-
keys
Who want's to start working their magic first?
From what I understand, we are going to have to wait for the full release to become avalible for download as there hasnt been much luck in flashing the 4mb small updates.

Holy Sh*t with multiple custom firmwares

I'm aware of 4 different brand of "cupcake" firmwares. I don't care which is better... the questions is what does ADP mean, cuz it's being plastering all over on this forums.
It's the developer's version, in laments terms. : )
I don't know what ADP stands for, but it's referring to the name of the firmware put out by HTC for the unbranded version of the G1 known as the Dev phone. All the builds with ADP in the name (JF ADP 1.5 and ADP1.5Hr3) are built off the official release of the firmware called ADP 1.5. Usually ADP builds restrict access to protected apps on the market, but all these custom builds fixed that issue already and can be used on any rooted G1. All you need to know is ADP builds are based off an official release.
thanks for quick reply, I've been speculating over JesusFreke's 1.5 ADP .... I'm debating whetever I should wait for JF's cupcake version of official T-Mo's OTA firmware or go for ADP.
Android Developer Phone =ADP
It was released shortly after the g1 and basically allowed you to not have to sign in to you use it. Not sure if it came rooted or not. It should have if it's a developer phone I'd think.
The Android Developer Phone-1 is a G1 that comes with the engineering second-stage loader and a non-crippled Android 1.0 firmware on it (you could say "rooted firmware", but that's clearly looking at it backwards).
As far as I've been able to discern, once you root a G1 and install a fastboot-capable loader there's no significant difference between what you have and an ADP1. (Except you don't get the cool developer design on the battery cover panel.)
AFIK there is no hardware difference in the ADP1 and G1...

Correct!. you sirs win both win an internet. don't spend it all in one place.
However from what I hear htc limited root on the official adp 1.5 I believe you still have access via adb and thus can reinstate access to the phone, however I recall reading a thread about such a topic... also the adp 1.5 official come bundled with a new recovery image, so becareful after flashing that, you'll lose your ability to do nandroid backups till you reflash a recovery img

[Q] HTC Update for Windows Phone (Mango)

I have just received an update today on zune saying HTC Update for Windows Phone.
I am running Mango RTM (Leaked) but everytime i update, i get to step 7 after phone restarting and it says creating backup, but them my phone restarts a 2nd time and zune update fails with error code: C1010007.
The windows phone website says the error means: The Zune software doesn't recognize my phone, or stops the update in the middle...
anyone know how I can fix this? or will I have to go back to NoDo or something? If so, how do I do it because my hard drive broke and I lost my backup
Thanks

thats awesome! cheers.
ive got HD7 on O2
also got the update message, will report back
Well updated without issue. I didn't record what version the phone was on before the update but there was no change to OS version, probably just to firmware.
Although i had done a factory reset after i went to mango RTM when it was released ages ago. Maybe some remnants of the beta's is causing an issue for you?
I got the update to work, however I had to restore my phone to factory settings
the update seemed to be crashing when trying to create a backup of my phone's data at step 7. My phone only had like 1gb space left, maybe it was too much for it to backup??
anyways, it seems to be working now. got the progress bar. will let you know how i get on.
also its not too bad i guess, got all my music and photos on zune.
So, this update updated my phone and it is now 100% official, i was coming from RTM.
Can anyone tell me the difference between RTM, HTC leaked and the current rollout?
Update seems to have gone swimmingly. However, has anyone else lost Local Scout after the update?
I'm confused.
EDIT: Nevermind. I got it. Tried a locations search in Bing Maps and it worked after that.

well the official RTM is basically a manufacturer release and for official devs. HTC RTM leaked is the same as above, but for non dev devices. The current roll out is newer firmware and tweaks. as far as im aware anyways lol

My understanding is: RTM is for manufactures and providers, the leaked version is the modified RTM by HTC ... so there shouldn't be a difference between the leaked HTC version and the current rollout. Maybe a HTC user with official update can post the version and device information here?

It has been confirmed that if you had the leaked 7720 RTM, you got the Provision removal to get your updates back on track and installing the "HTC Update" brought the rest of the phone up to par as far as drivers are concerned.
Smooth Update Sailing for Microsoft so far. My Backup that the RTM to HTC update looks to have just disappeared for some reason (still have my NoDo Backup) but other than that, it has been a painless venture into Beta land. Love it.
Thanks for the information. So I will wait for ansar because I want to have a JB rom.
The provisioning fix would install only if you were not on the RTM. If you had 7720 then the cleanup is skipped and only HTC UPdate is installed

AT&T OTA Issues

Hello there.
I purchased my G4 in June or so of last year, and can't seem to get it to work with OTA updates. Phone is currently on 5.1, Kernal 3.19.49, Build LMY47D, Software version H81010e, Security software version MDF v1.1 Release 4. I have never attempted to flash or modify the phone, so it's been bone stock since the day I bought it.
I was out of the country and away from OTA updates from October 2015-March 2016, and since returning I havn't been able to get OTA to register an update is available using either the "Check for Updates" in Android, or LG Bridge on Windows. I didn't really put too much thought into it because of all the issues MM has/had, but now that Wi-Fi calling is available I'd really like to be able to update.
What would my best options be for getting the phone current and up to date with AT&T? I'd really like to avoid dealing with their repair services unless there is a good reason to go that route.
Thanks!
Update
Just in case someone finds this down the road with a similar problem, here's what I did.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g4/general/att-h810-to-stock-guide-tot-method-t3248532
I followed that guide and manually updated from software version H81010e to software version H81010o. As soon as the software was updated, I checked for updates in settings as per usual and it immediately recognized and downloaded the OTA update from AT&T. Seems getting behind on software updates while out of country was preventing me from downloading new versions of Android.
Hey

US Galaxy S8+ OTA software update not working / alternative way. SOLVED

What I want to do: I was trying to OTA update my phone software to the latest, but it seems I am behind on many updates. On the AT&T website, I saw that I need the previous updates installed first, in order to get the latest ones. I have to go in order.
Problem: Everytime I try to do a software update from the settings, it says “Current software is up to date.” It’s been saying that for over a year now. I can’t even get the updates from last year.
So is there a way I can flash one of the stock firmware updates from last year on to my phone with Odin and see if it will fix the ‘over the air’ updates? Or can I just skip to the most recent firmware and flash that one.
By the way, I have never done anything like this to my phone before, so I am a bit nervous, but I want to get this problem fixed so I would love if someone helped me out. I did see some articles online about flashing stock firmwares, that’s how I learned about Odin.
If this is doable, can someone please link me to a thorough tutorial on this process? If it isn’t, can you guys recommend another way of getting to the latest 8.0 stock firmware?
My phone right now:

Baseband version: G955USQS1AQF7
Android security patch level: June 1, 2017

If you are using the AT&T S8+ outside of the USA, you will not get any OTA updates due to AT&T update policy. What you want to do is flash the Unlocked firmware and you will be good. Search for carrier switching thread and follow it.
