Headset auto-call function - General Questions and Answers

I know there are already other threads adressing this problem, but I wonder if there is a solution already to disable the stupid auto-call function when you plug in the headset on the touch Diamond.
The Diamond is a great device, but this is really pissing me off. I even noticed that it's not only the button press which starts a call, but also of you twist the wire a bit.
For me this is a terrible mistake for a device costing about 500 euro's.
I'm sorry if this problem is already solved in another thread, but I didn't find it.
grtz

have you tried looking at the wiki
or searching this proveful more fruitful

I did look around, but I noticed I'm not the only one having this problem, and there are already a lot discussions started on this, but as far as I know, no answer. But it's possible I missed some thread or something.
Nobody read a solution anywhere?
grtz

Well, vijay555 wrote VJPoOf, which is supposed to map the headset's button..
try it.

Help - First major mic problem in HTC TC

Hi everyone, how are you?
For about a week or so i have been having some problems in my touch cruise.
My mic stop working (more or less). I have been trying to solve it by myself and with some help of forums in my mother language, but even so, i failed.
The problem is this:
When i answer a call, the person in the other side is not able to hear me at all. Only if i shout real loud and if i take the device from my ear and put it right in front of my mouth, they can only hear whisper like sounds.
If i am the one doing the call, it happens the same thing.
If i try to record a voice note or something like it, almost the same thing. i cant hear myself talking. Only in the situation i mentioned above, with the phone in front of my mouth and with me shouting, its possible to ear something.
I have done a hard reset just now and it remains with the same problem
do you know what might be happening? do you recommend some proceeder before i try sending it to be fix?
I bought it online, in expansys (and i'm in Portugal) and they said that i have to contact a company that makes the "fixing" for them (outsourcing services you know). I tried to call them but i didn't got any answer yet.
I know who is the dealer of the HTC brand in my country (Novabase).
Should i contact them directly, should i go first to the other fixing company or should i try some mambojambo in registry or some app that may fix the problem?
Please help me. My phone/pda is (almost) my life. I need it for work (and the amount of money i gave for it does not include problems of any kind )
Thank you in advance and sorry for the HUGE post.
I will be waiting for your guru answers =)
stay cool
up...
please
Unfortunately, it really sounds like a hardware problem, especially you already tried the hard reset. You can confirm this by using the headset. If everything works fine using the headset, then your phone's mic is broken. And if that's the case, sending it in for warranty repair is the only solution.
yeah, you are right. with the wired headset it works (oh, just to think about it, does your headset moves arround insite the jack? it seems loose)
it has to be hardware then. :S
SH*T =( so much money for this :S
thnaks anyway =X
Major mic problem
I've bought 2 HTC TC Cruise and both of them have the same mic problem, so it's supposed to be a quite common issue: suddenly the mic becomes deaf without any apparent reason! I know it maight be an hw problem, but I would avoid the too slow assistance service if possible, does anybody have an idea? Tnx all, bye.
This seems to be a common problem in Touch Cruise. My Mic stopped working and I took a replacement
The Hardware Quality Of Polaris Is Unacceptable Weak!
Just one month ago my Polaris was repaired and shiped back from UK (mainboard replacement in HTC repair center). It was "SIM not found" HW problem.
...and I have now a same MIC problem!
Now I see - I'm not alone, this looks like amplifier chip failure on the switchboard.
THE HARDWARE QUALITY OF POLARIS IS UNACCEPTABLE WEAK!
Im finish spending my time and money on shipment to HTC repair center.
Today I'm using a BT headset and looking for spare parts on web.
Hate the moment I decided to bay this ****!

Background noise when talking overwhelming...

Has anyone else noticed, or had anyone tell them, that the background noise is extremely loud and distracting, when you are talking to them on your Raph?
Apparently my microphone/receiver is picking up everything and people are hearing even the slightest sounds.
I called my wife from the car with the music very low, and she said it sounded like I was at a concert. A buddy called me and with no music on in the car, he kept asking if I was driving with the window down, or standing in the middle of traffic... And then when I went into a Panera Bread, with only a few people talking around me, he had to let me go because he couldn't hear me over all the extra noise.
I was not on speaker phone.
Is there anyway to dial down the microphone/receiver, like you can on a computer?
I did search through the forums, but was unable to find anything.
Thanks for the help.
There is in the settings area a item for hearing aid and non hearing aid mode. Try to set it either way and see if it helps?
I'm having the same problem too - is there a registry setting for this? HKLM\Software\HTC\Audiogain is no longer there...
Chiming in with this...have had several people tell me it sounds like I'm on speaker or like someone else said above, driving with the windows down.
I've had this issue as well. I can't remember if I had this issue before I started using cooked ROMs.
What ROM is everyone using?
I'm on PROven 1.08, but I've noticed this with earlier versions of PROven as well.
J.
Yep - just wanted to add that I'm having this problem too.
Almost every call I've made without a headset- someone has asked what was going on in the background.
Currently running Elite ROM
I mean, I know the mic is on the very bottom of the phone, but what's the deal?
Hello, guys.
i had this problem twice: just after i buy my Raphael and afer i take it to my service-center. There serious men just make hard reset and that's all!
the issue hide as i take my pda in hands.
but in several days it started again... i didn't know what to thing - cause i was very sad about this ****en problem.
nevertheless also after few days this problem hide away and never goe to my pda again.
I did'n do anything with my ROM (RUS 1.90.411.3, Radio:1.02.25.19)
...and it's very interesting.
if anybody has the answer to the question: "Why does it happen?" i'd be very glad to hear about this one.
sorry for my english)
hear myself
I have a simmilar backround noise problem, but for what ever reason the speaker kicks out what the mic picks up, so I end up hearing my self more than any one that calls unless it is dead silent in the room, then I can hear the caller as long as I am not talking.
any tips on how to stop hearing myself?
same here im using ROMeOS conFUZEd edition...
Just to add that the problem happens for me with the PROven 1.08 and LantisOS RC 1 ROMs.
I've modified AudioPara3.csv and turned the gain and tx volume way down. It seems to be ok for me, but I haven't done extensive testing yet. Please backup your copy before overwriting it. Copy to your \Windows directory using Total Commander. Let me know what you guys think.
Yeah a lot of people said they can hear everything when I talk to them. Both on my Raphael and my old Hermes. Its just the mics that HTC uses are really good. Maybe not good for phone usage but really good quality and can pick up all sounds.
I ended up getting a Bluetooth with Noise Reduction, everyone is much happier now.
Same here
I've been going crazy looking for a solution for this problem, I was in a restaurant the other day with very soft music and I got a call and the person on the other end said that it was SO loud she thought I was in a night club (I wish I was but I wasn't).
I'm gonna try the AudioPara3 and see what happens.
If anyone has found the perfect solution to this, please post it. Thanks.
Backgrounds too loud
Just installed and the problem seems to be corrected, will try a couple more days.....
I have this problem and have tried a couple of the posted audiopara files - no such luck with this issue?
Any progress on dialing in this microphone setting?
thanks!

Silly question, but did you reboot your phone after you copied the file?
Yup. I occasionally get people telling me I sound like I'm in the middle of the sea with waves and stuff. When I end the call then redial, the problem is usually gone. Happens maybe once a week. I'm a fairly heavy user - the phone that is. Well not just the phone. Erm, can we not go there thank you?
Raph Elite Project RC3. When I've tried audiopara, I lose almost all volume from the speaker so I uninstalled and hard resetted.

So I put a 8100 vibrating motor in my x7510

But I need to figure out how to get it to work. It fit perfectly and I made sure the little connectors were touching the placement connections. If someone could please figure out some kind of driver or software or registry tweak I can do to make this motor run I would very thankful!
=)
I had already my telephone was in such a way worked on, vibration indicated. a driver is not necessary therefore
(babelfish-english)
hey guys where did you purchase the motor?
i searched ebay, and a whole lot of other online shops, and i can't find anyone selling it
do you have link?
thanks
no I had one just laying around and I took the motor out of that.
I still can't get it to work though =(
Try to use VGA HTC Home plugin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373777
It has possibility to change few options for ringer ( with vibrating) maybe it will help
Someone put a vibrating motor in a 7501 last year and couldn't get it to work. There were theories, but I can't find the thread now.
Is there an update on this thread? Did the vibro motor ever work? I would really like a vibrate option on my Flint because it is my main phone.

It could have been me! I put the motor in my X7500 but never got it to work. HOWEVER! when I tried AP 5.0 beta on my athena it did buzz when swapping over to vibrate but never worked in a call. so it shows that it is possible to get it going and power can get to it. AP 5.0 was never finished and of course WONT work on a X7510.

Jay
Found the links HERE and HERE
Yeah I never got the motor to work so it's just hanging in there haha
Come on, I thought you guys would have figured this out by now.
I love phones and I love messing around with all my 3 that I have
But I'm not so good at figuring out stuff like this haha
So if there's anyone out there willing to take the challenge
and ground out some numbers and equations and **** let me know
who knows I may even have a cash prize for anyone who can figure it out

Bluetooth telephone "handset"

[moved from Off Topic board]
OK.
First off, hello everyone! First time poster, so be nice!
I have already tried to find this on google, on the forums, and in all sorts of other places, but putting in the criteria "bluetooth" and "handset" returned all sorts of crap....
Anyway, I am hopefully soon to be acquiring an XDA Flint / HTC Athena. Which as far as I'm concerned.... is a big phone. One that I'd rather not hold to my head all day.
I do have a bluetooth headset already, but I find that using it has several distinct disadvantages;
When I am shopping on the phone - people think I am talking to myself, and therefore mad
When I am outside, the other party can't hear a word, because of the wind
Add that to the fact that I would like to at least appear a little normal, I decided to see if there was a telephone handset (such as the good 'ol Nokia 3310) with all the innards removed, and had just been converted into a bluetooth "handset" with just a microphone and speaker for me to connect to the HTC.
I have already found something similar - but slightly impractical - in the form of this, of which there is a bluetooth version on the interweb.
Anyway - can anyone help?
Am I bringing up a long forgotten thread about this question that has already been asked?
Many thanks,
success
OK..
I found the solution utterly by accident.
If anyone is interested, I went for (and about just about to collect it from the post office) the LG Style-i bluetooth handset
*crossing fingers!!!*

Is it possible to change the microphone?

As title says. I have a problem with my HD, that the mic falls out now and then.
Sometimes just for a few secs, but also sometimes for longer periods which make it really hard to have normal conversations.
I've searched for a replacement mic on eBay, but can't find anything. Is the mic part of a "module" that need to be changed altogether?
Really appreciate any help on this matter.
Best regards
Kristian
Hi
I believe it is, but haven't had the courage to do it myself yet. I bought a replacement receiver here http://www.focalprice.com/MI492X/Receiver_for_HTC_Desire_HD_9191_Phones.html but after watching the disassembly video I got scared off! See this other thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044106&page=3
Let me know if you have any success.
