I just got a Mercedez Benz ML 350 and they say that the built in bluetooth with steering wheel/command center works flawlessly with Iphones and Blackberry but not Win Mobile phones.
I try to sync, and both the car and my ATT Tilt see each other via bluetooth but after inputting passcode it says Authorization unsuccessful My wife has both an iphone and a ATT Fuze, the iphone works no problem, the Fuze failed.
What is so different, I thought bluetooth protocol was the same on any phone ;[
I tried using hyperdragons kaiser winmob 6.5 rom and it bluetooth didn't load.
Bluetooth protocol is bluetooth protocol. Mercedes probably has a deal
apple, reguardless it sounds like you need sometype of bt adapter.

I dunno wuts wrong with my universal (it's JasJar Actually)... I have a Cadillac and it doesn't connect with car's bluetooth.. it always says connection faliure... same goes with all pocket PC's I tried
While other phones.. Nokia, siemens, sonyericsson does connect...
Wuts the problem?
This will probably be because of the fact that your car kit only supports the "Hands-free" profile. I have a T-Mobile MDA Pro (also JasJar make) and have the same problem. As long as Windows Mobile only supports the "Headset" profile we won't have any luck.
I have read that M$ is planning a WM5 update/patch that adds Hands-free profile support, but I haven't seen any releases out there that include this.
Hi all
Back here after a nokia N95 lay off (bad move), but back again after i got a new orbit. Love the WM 6 a joy to use..
Just one question, i cannot get her to connect over bluetooth to my TomTom Rider (at all) no services found. Is there anyway of emulating the bluetooth protocol of sony erricssons as these phones work perfectly with the rider, Handsfree, text messaging in/out , phone book. even hands free would be nice on the bike.
Dave
first off, major props to the xda community, you guys are the best!
now for an interesting problem/project:
It's been a month since I've purchased my Motorola S9 bluetooth headphones http://www.motorola.com/motoinfo/product/details.jsp?globalObjectId=177 and have been amazed by what I can do when combine the S9 with my HTC touch and cyberon's voice dialer which is a voice activation program
I use it to:
listen to stereo music
launch programs
stereo music remote control
speed dial
raise and lower volume
teach iphone users the meaning of envy
just being able to do that with with the a2dp remote and microphone of the s9 makes it feel like it's 2030 where people are wired to computers and technology is transparent and everywhere. The s9 feels like sci fi technology... almost. the s9+htc touch is a great no hassle way of getting the information you want pumped into your ears
so as a tech enthusiast I've asked myself,
why the hell can't my computer do this?? i mean, it's 2008 and I'm still using a keyboard and mouse for everything?
I'm trying to make the S9's work on my mac book pro running windows xp+bootcamp drivers but windows doesn't even support a2dp much less handsfree wireless mic profile
i've an online tutorial by katy hxxp: www.djkaty.com/drupal/vista/bluetootha2dp but installing broadcomm's bluetooth stack gives me an error telling me that there is no bluetooth radio device detected which is total bull as i've been able to send files to my HTC touch via bluetooth. I've also tried installing another bluetooth replacement stack called bluesoleil; with no luck
I've also am about to start trying adding widcomm using this guide (http://www.dev-toast.com/2007/01/05/uncrippling-bluetooth-in-vista-rtm)
but in the guide said a2dp doesn't work with widcomm
anyways how do i make bluetooth a2dp work and my s9's mic to work via bluetooth on pc? is my ultimate question
also, if you could recomend a voice activation program that works as well as cyberon's voice dialer I'm looking for the type of functionality where I can press the voice button issue a command and then good stuff happens I bet lots of other people thought of doing the same thing like this
could you please help?
A step by step guide would be aprechiated
update: I've been able to install widcomm drivers version 5.1 and everything works... except the a2dp UGH!

BlueSoleil, with some external BT dongles, does support A2DP. It's just that the BT dongle itself must support it in hardware.
That is, shop for an external BT dongle if you do need A2DP.

thanx but i'm trying to get my internal laptop's bluetooth to use it I've heard good reports that i'm just using the wrong version of widcomm drivers.... time to reinstall everything...again
besides who wants to carry around a laptop with a dongle flopping around? i'll try to avoid the dongle solution if i can
A2DP and bluetooth stack
Having same issues here. My goal is using BOTH A2dp and Blackberry wireless sync via bluetooth (just a serial port).
I find it impossible as Blackberry will only work with native xp drivers and A2DP is not supported in xp.
Currently i gave up wireless sync and am using A2DP with Bluesoleil, which works fine for me.
Anyone ever tried using A2DP WITHOUT switching to a different bluetooth stack?
I've noticed these similar (and likely related) bugs in a lot of places and have been living with them for six months, but I have never seen a fix. Surely there are others with this issue that might be able to fix it.
Issue #1: When you connect a Bluetooth stereo headset to a Windows Mobile device, using the Wireless Stereo AND Hands Free profiles, the wireless stereo feature works fine, but when attempting to answer a call, hands free fails. The hands free icon shows on the Phone screen, no audio is heard, and after a few seconds the headset shuts off and the icon goes away.
Issue #2: When you connect a Bluetooth stereo headset to a Windows Mobile device using the Wireless Stereo profile and are watching video in Windows Media Player, if a call comes in, the program device.exe crashes and Windows Media Player will often need to be restarted. Device.exe will often crash at other times as well.
I have seen numerous reports of this problem, and near universal reports of it on the Dell BH200 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones. It seems to require A2DP, and be very common among HTC devices. I have had the same problem on the AT&T Tilt (Kaiser) and AT&T Fuze (Touch Pro/Rafael) under Windows Mobile 6. I can confirm the headset works as it is supposed to on Palm OS (Palm Centro) in headset mode, and that it was also able to work as a headset on the T-Mobile MDA (Wizard) running Windows Mobile 5 (which does not support A2DP).
In all cases, I am talking about devices using stock ROMs.
If you have seen the problem, please list the device, OS, and bluetooth device used. If you have a bluetooth stereo headset that does not exhibit the issue on devices that are known to have this problem, list that as well, so owners of devices with this issue can consider alternative headsets.
If you have any technical knowledge of what causes the issue, please share it. If you have heard of any workarounds, please share it.
Thank you all.
I have the Samsung i-640 running WM6 and have the same issue with The Dell BH200 not doin Hands free mode and the whole shut down of device happens too ..very Frustrating .
I tried using the Nokia BH 100 which does only Mono [Hands Free] and i get $hit loads of static noise but the Device doesnt Shutdown.
Heya, I have the AT&T Fuze and I also own the BH200. I have the same exact issue you have (issue #1). I have no idea why it does this but I've been trying to get support from dell for the longest time with no luck.
I think the problem lies in the MS BT stack. It does an automatic pin guessing thing which might cause the bh200 to not work properly. I have tested the fuze on the BT2020 (by Jabra) and it works perfectly. I just recently bought the moto s9 (still waiting for it to arrive) but I would prefer to use the dell bh200 if possible.
Check my sig for the information you're looking for.
Dell sends you to PC support when you try to get support on the device, since it's usually sold as an accessory with computers, but they refuse to offer actual support on the actual device, as though they knew nothing about it or how it works. I asked them if it was a rebranded version of another company's headset, and they wouldn't say.
I tried to get help from dell already, and they're as much help with it as telemarketers...
Similar problem
Maybe this is a stereo headset bug...
Maybe this is designed behavior, but it is typical of why people HAVE to hack the crap out of WM to be happy with it:
I have a ATT Tilt.
Behavior same under WM6 and WM6.1
I have a Jabra BT610s (stereo headphone with A2DP, AVRCP, handsfree, & wireless stereo profiles).
If the Tilt is paired with both wireless stereo & hands-free, then even if Win Media is running or playing, the hands-free profile is selected when powering on the headphones. Then, the stupid ATT Bluetooth settings are so buried that it requires about 30 secs of sylus picking, poking, and prodding to get it set to wireless stereo.
Is there a way to set the Tilt to default to wireless stereo, is there a helper app for quick-switching this?
Also, there are not infrequent dropouts in audio over bluetooth, even with the phone setting on the desk 24" away from the headphones as I type this.
All the remote control features DO work with this setup, but unfortunately there's no remote control function for profile switching.
Thanks,
I am using a stock ROM and I don't have the above problems. I am using a motorolla hb820 headset. I also use an LG Style i headset, and no problems either. I use Core Player and it plays fine even after a call. I only use WMP to play music and my X7510 haven't froze yet while playing music when a call comes in.
Hi
I am using Lg KE590 but I am not using the device so I have not gone through the problem. Is it for all the handset ?

I have several configurations with problems to report below:
1) HTC P3600i (WM6 stock ROM) + Dell BH200 => issue #1 (never try issue #2)
2) HTC P3600i (WM6 stock ROM) + Dopod HS01 clip-on BT stereo headset => All functions work fine, no problem switching between profiles
3) Dopod S300 (WM5 stock ROM) + Dell BH200 => stereo music & phone call works but music switch back to the phone after end of a call
4) Dopod S300 (WM5 stock ROM) + Dopod HS01 clip-on BT stereo headset => All functions work fine, no problem switching between profiles
5) Nokia 5610 Xpress Music + Dell BH200 => All functions work fine, no problem switching between profiles
6) Nokia 5610 Xpress Music + Dopod HS01 clip-on BT stereo headset => All functions work fine, no problem switching between profiles
Summary: I tend to believe that the problem is specific to Dell BH200 and some of HTC's or WM OS combination as Dell BH200 works fine with Nokia phones and Dopod BT headphones always work with any phones we have.
Reporting in, Im using Motorola S305 Stereo BT. No above issues whatsoever with 2 devices HTC Kaiser and Touch Pro. Both with stock or cooked ROM. I have a strong feeling its related to hardware prob on Dell BH200.
I have a touch pro that refuse to play nice with my AVIC-D3 head unit...I must pick either headset profile or wireless stereo profile, but not both. I remember coming across a solution called a2dptoggle. It let you switch between the 2 easily (in wm agenda page), but try it out to see if that's a solution or not.
Issue #1 using HTC Touch Pro and Dell BH200
Because of that issue i can't use the hands free function at all.
Only way i can use my headset is:
If i uncheck Hands free from partnership settings, then an incoming call mutes headset, i take out the phone have my conversation manually, after hangup the music plays on.
I m having issue of my Focus's BT not working. Whenever i turn on the BT is goes into searching mode and doesn't come out of that.
anybody facing the same issue?
mine is OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Not exactly, but in my opinion WP's Bluetooth software is just horrible.
It has two options - on and off. You can't change your phones BT name, you can't be invisible with bluetooh on, you can't transfer files. My sister can't sync her WP with her car, whereas I (on Android) just turn BT on and it syncs instantly.
I hoped Mango would fix that, but it didn't. It's just crap.
bluetooth isn't the best part of wp7 for sure...but it sync easy with an headset or a car stereo...
reading some threads about it i found that samsung devices have the worst wp7 BT hadware...
still, i'm alright to say that files transfers should be enabled
hmmm....my focus synced with my car stereo once....but recently it has started go into "Searching" mode and doesnt sync with car stereo
I only use Bluetooth in my cars and all my previous phones worked perfectly (iPhone, iPhone3G, iPhone4, Lg Quantum, Samsung Focus).
The HTC Titan on the other hand sucks. My two vehicles handle things different.
The Challenger (factory BT) will hold onto the call even if the car is off and the door open. The call will switch back to my old phones when out of range (basically in the house) or i manually shut off bluetooth.
The Jeep (aftermarket radio) once you open the door with the car off the call goes back to the phone.
The Titan has a problem were 1/2 of the time when the call is transferred back to the phone either manually, because the car turned off, or im out of range. The mic will not engage. I can hear the person but they cannot hear me.
Haven't had a problem with my Trophy... previous car was a Lexus IS220d and it synced and worked fine.
Currently driving a Jeep Wrangler and only once I've had the "searching for device" issue.
Bluetooth on Wp7 is quite poor. You can not select, which service an adapter shall support (handsfree and A2DP). It always use both services.
Windows Phone's Bluetooth support is abysmal, but you know what's worse: Samsung's support for Bluetooth on Windows Phone. Their last firmware update for the AT&T-branded Samsung Focus reduced out-of-call Bluetooth volume so that it's way too soft and text-to-speech is impossible to use because you can't hear it. If you turn up your Bluetooth headset or car volume to compensate, then in-call volume is way too loud. There is no fix or solution, except to restore the old firmware through Zune's backup. I've been running 2103.11.3.3 instead of 2103.11.8.1 for about 5 months now. I couldn't be more furious about Samsung and AT&T's lack of urgency to fix, or even acknowledge this. I'd even deal with the disappearing keyboard (as I have anyway) if it means keeping Bluetooth working. Regardless, after this experience I will never buy a Samsung phone again.
WP7 lacks rSAP, and for many of us with European cars are SOL. Wish Microsoft would listen as many of us have complained about needing rSAP.
