Hi all.
I installed couple of different ROMs on my VOX but after a while they stopped working (on call phone freezes and stuffs like that) so I returned to the old good Gonzo's 6.1 v1.1
Everything works great as it always have been with this ROM, but I have one small, rather boring issue: most of the time my phone is close to my computer speakers. With this ROM pretty much often my speakers start buzzing (cannot explain better the problem, but I think you all know what sound the speakers make during a call) although there is no call.
This is very boring. Can someone tell me why this is happening and how to stop it?
Thanks.
It is your phone making a connection to it's provider. It also makes that sound when your vox is trying to sync it's mail, or something else over its GPRS signal.
This problem occours with small speakers.
Only thing you can do about it is turn off your speakers or the connections on your Vox.
Grtz. FeareX
I don't think that is the issue since the signal bars are full all of the time, I don't see it trying to make connection to my provider. Also GPRS and WAP are disabled in NoData.
This is only happening with this specific ROM and I like it alot because it works perfect on my Vox.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks.
It happens for me too, but only when I turn on my phone, I think it's something like SIM-Card connecting to my provider or something, I dont know alot about this though
Seems like some good ol' Electromagnetic Interference to me... The high freq phone signals somehow get into the speakers, creating the noise... I suggest u keep ur phone approx 1-2ft away frm the speakers.
But I didn't have this issue with any other ROM. Also I noticed that now the phone looses connection pretty much often

i've had the Touch Pro for a little over a week and i absolutely LOVE IT.
the only problem i have is that every now and then, all sound output dies in the device
the phone wont ring anymore, it would only vibrate.. and if you try to raise or lower the volume, no sound comes out at all either.
the only way out is to reset the phone which i'm doing now on a daily basis hoping to avoid missing calls and messages when the phone only vibrates while it's away from me.
anyone have the same problem and/or a solution?
ROM: 1.90.456.3 WWE
ROM Date: 08/20/08
Radio: 1.02.25.19
Protocol: 52.33.25.17U
Hello AntiProxy,
Unfortunately, welcome to the club...
You are the 3rd person I've counted that has that problem. A post is already active on it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=422322
What is weird is that you don't have the same ROM as Zillator and I (we have the same ROM).
I'm really starting to think it is an hardware problem then and that we'll have to send the phones back...
Please check the other post.
Hello Flippy.
yeah i noticed your thread earlier but thought our general symptoms are different.
in my case and when the problem happens, the phone no longer rings, no more message notifications, etc.
and it doesn't happen while the phone is ringing.. it just seems to die off randomly.
like the other day a friend came over and asked if i got his message.. i checked and found 3 messages.. no missed calls.
figured the sound was low, so i hit volume up and increased it to the max, but still no sound was coming out..
i asked him to call.. the phone vibrated, no ringtone.. i answered.. he could hear me, but i couldn't hear him.
now the only good news i might be able to give you, is that i've had this same issue back in the day with my blueangel (i-mate pda2k) and it got solved with a new radio rom.
don't ask me what's this got to do with the radio.. it worked back then.
Same here m8!
When my phone does like that I usually realize when calling. But when it does happen all my sounds are ded as well (volume up/down you don't hear sound, it vibrates without ringing and all other sounds are dead).
We have exactly the same symptoms!
i have this prob too. is worse when i use my bluetooth headset. the, it crashes while in the middle of a call.... how do we get this fixed? called HTC service centre and they suggested i upgrade ROM. read in other places that htc changed the mainboard...
any ideas??
PS, i have the exact same rom, radio and proto as @antiproxy
I have this issue with my touch, that, when I make or recieve a call while roming my phone will restart within the first 30 seconds of the call.
Has anyone experienced this or/and know if it can be fixed?
Thanks in advance,
Kris
I worked out why it did it. You in a call then you hear a hissing noise then it reboot itself. Think this is a bug. While roaming in GSM network using EDGE or GPRS you cannot use voice and data together. Only in 3G which data and voice can be use together. The funny thing is the phone does not attemp to stop either voice or data, it just reboots itself.
Wonder there is any solution to this. Currently i just disable data during roaming on GSM network.
Now that I gave it more test......it restarts regardless of data or not......
hrm .. i reflashed the origional rom and spl onto the phone and it seems to work now - unfortuantly i have 2 drive fairly far to test it...
Has anyone else had this issue though?
Kris
I'm getting the same thing (I think), on my Touch Pro (Raphael).
I'm doing more testing to see exactly what is causing this, but it sounds like the same thing you're experiencing.
I wonder if there is some setting in the registry to tell the phone not to attempt to download data whilst on a GPRS connection and a phone call.
I started another thread about this before I found yours.

Same here, are we all on the 3 network?
New firmware may fix it. See post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439983
yes, but I like my RomeOS and mine's a HKK grey import anyway, doesn't have the 3 Software on it, so I'm doubtful if the 3 firmware will fix it... it might of course
interesting, i dont seem to have the same problem even when i am forcing my TP to go on gsm network. hopefully its not something i will face as i am also on 3network
Came across an interesting issue with my RAPH whilst away.
The phone would reboot when ringing, or making outbound calls, sometimes the call could be established and a conversation could be had for a random amount of time (never more than a minute) and the phone would suddenly reboot.
I fixed the issue by turning off bluetooth (might have been looking for my headset) and just changing every setting in "Phone" to something and then changing it back.
Havent had an issue since.
figured id post incase anyone else had this frustrating issue.
I guess this might be solved with a different Radio version.
what version are you in?

Are you using S2U2 by any chance?
Mine started doing it since i put S2U2 on but am not sure if its entirely to blame.
Hi all,
I have been doing further testing and can report that S2U2 is not the problem. Its a device issue that occurs when i roam to a GSM network. When on 3G its usually fine. I have just upgraded radio to the .28 to see if this helps.
Both myself and my brother who have the same devices are seeing the same issue. I have seen it on the 3 rom and also the HTC asia rom hence why im looking at radio now.
I tried Radio .32 with no luck. Tried a few different ROMS as well, ROMEoS, the HTC ASIA update as well as the updated 3 ROM with no joy. Shame cause the phone is great apart form this "showstopper", back to my ever trusty Blackjack until a new handset arrives.
I'm on NextG btw, and problem occurs when swictching between GSM, Edge and HSDPA. Unfortunatey both home and office are in spots that switch between signals depending on where I am in the house/office, very frustrating. I'm also 90% sure it only happens when a call and data are happening at the same time, as my phone syncs wth Exchange, this is regularly.
I rang HTC support, they suggested a hard reset, which of course I've done many times, otherwise return for repair/replacement.
This happens always when I initiate a chat in skype... The keyboard just wont respond until reboot. Anyone knows the issue?
Are you connected over wifi? I have issue if my wifi power mode is set to best performance/least battery. For some reason it locks up my hardware keyboard.
... This seems to be the worst kind of issue because its kind of untraceable. Mostly it appears but sometimes doesn't. It can also happen after fresh reboot... it happens on wifi or data... it is occasional but mostly it is there. I'm desperate... one of the main reasons to buy a WM device was to stay mobile online in msn & skype
im facing same issues, with Wifi enabled.
Keyboard becomes totally unusable/unresponsive, have tried everything found in these forums with no luck. adjusting power/performance/best battery don't solve the issue for me.
this is taking me at the point to sell my Fuze that i was so happy with until this problems.
DP: anyway selling it with these issue would be consider as a hustling, so i can't iven sell it.
Lets keep this thread active
Well lets make some noise here... there must be a clever member/moderator who has a clue about this issue.
Anyone....
I've also expereicenced this with active wifi
I get complains almost daily that the background noise is overpowering when I'm on the phone. I basically can't be on the phone anywhere where there is any activity or it sounds so loud people ask me to call them back. I've tried a couple of different AudioPara3s but none have corrected my issue. I'm currently using RRE but had the same problem with RomeOS. Does anyone happen to know what I can do about this? If it is a setting I can change in AudioPara3, does anyone know which field(s) I should mess with?
Thanks.

Have you got "Microphone AGC" turned on? That's a technology that automatically screws up the volume of your voice when talking softly. It's nice when inside, but outside it also boosts background noise, like wind and traffic. Try turning it off, when in loud environments.
Hope this helps.
Rahza
Thanks for the tip. I checked Microphone AGC but it was off. I'm wondering if I just have a bad phone, since the problem is so bad I'm sure there would be a lot of other people complaining if it were common.
Bump in case someone knows something I can try with AudioPara3
Hi there,
I have the exact same problem...
It doesn't matter if i am inside or outside, the person in the other end hear backround noise over my voice... It is absolutely impossible to talk...
One person i talk to alot says my voice sounds almost distorted, like some gain or amplification is to high.
I would really like to know if someone has a solution to this issue?!
AGC is turned off..
Best regards
Andreas
Same issues here. Using the same phone, I have the problem when I'm running the Energy 6.5 Rom's, but not with the Energy 6.1 Rom's. Been searching and I'm stumped.
I did notice that the proram TouchPro Tweak has an Audio Boost that can only be set to "Medium" or "High". The program is written into most Rom's though so deleting it won't help.
Any thoughts?
Any help here would be very much appreciated, I've found nothing after many more hours of searching.
Are you guys sure you are using the correct rlphone.dll to match your radio?
It could be screwing with your "radio" functioning.
Yep, I did reflash my raido and reinstall my rilphone cab to make certain. The reply is still much appreciated!
Okay, I've had a bit of success.
- Microphone AGC - Enabled
- Used Total Commander and went to -> \plugins\registry\HKCU\Software\HTC\SOFTAGCData
- Max Level Gain : Changed Decimal Value from 10 -> 1
Background noise gone, but my voice is still very muffled.
If it wouldn't be too much of a bother, would someone running a 6.1 Rom be able to post up their values from all the registries under "SOFTAGCData"?
I would be very thankful.
*** SOLVED ***
Flashed back to a stock AT&T Rom and extracted all of the Audio files that may of been the cause.
Reflashed one of the Rom's that was giving me the issue, called the wife, problem still existed.
Dropped the AT&T Rom files in, placed a call, and Viola! Problem Solved!
Just extract these into the Windows dir (At your own risk, but they're just AT&T Stock files) -> Clicky
