I have this issue with my touch, that, when I make or recieve a call while roming my phone will restart within the first 30 seconds of the call.
Has anyone experienced this or/and know if it can be fixed?
Thanks in advance,
Kris
I worked out why it did it. You in a call then you hear a hissing noise then it reboot itself. Think this is a bug. While roaming in GSM network using EDGE or GPRS you cannot use voice and data together. Only in 3G which data and voice can be use together. The funny thing is the phone does not attemp to stop either voice or data, it just reboots itself.
Wonder there is any solution to this. Currently i just disable data during roaming on GSM network.
Now that I gave it more test......it restarts regardless of data or not......
hrm .. i reflashed the origional rom and spl onto the phone and it seems to work now - unfortuantly i have 2 drive fairly far to test it...
Has anyone else had this issue though?
Kris
I'm getting the same thing (I think), on my Touch Pro (Raphael).
I'm doing more testing to see exactly what is causing this, but it sounds like the same thing you're experiencing.
I wonder if there is some setting in the registry to tell the phone not to attempt to download data whilst on a GPRS connection and a phone call.
I started another thread about this before I found yours.

Same here, are we all on the 3 network?
New firmware may fix it. See post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439983
yes, but I like my RomeOS and mine's a HKK grey import anyway, doesn't have the 3 Software on it, so I'm doubtful if the 3 firmware will fix it... it might of course
interesting, i dont seem to have the same problem even when i am forcing my TP to go on gsm network. hopefully its not something i will face as i am also on 3network

Hi,
I bought the Excalibur and the Vox 'cause I though it would have been great being able to place VOIP calls from my phone, using the same setup I use with my ATA.
The files to enable VOIP and MS phones have been circulating since a while, but even though I tried couple of packages I still have some issues.
The problem I have is that, for some strange reason, when the VOIP cab is installed my phone sometimes loses "Calling and receiving" capability.
Sometimes I trie to place a phone call and the phone hangs, I can only switch it off and on again. Sometimes I even have to remove the SD card otherwise it will keep doing a Reboot Loop.
Other times I receive an SMS for a missed call, as if I had been offline. When I then try to call back my phone hangs.
This bug seems to affect only the Calls and not the SMS functionality.
Has anybody experienced the same issue?
Thanks,
Ka.
I also have the same problems except for the SD rebooting.
I installed the VOIP client from the workarround posted here and I also experience the same problems:
1) phone seems to work fine until I decide to place a call, when I finish entering the numbers and I hit the Call button, the phone does nothing (not even the beep) and from that point I know that I can't place calls (dial pad doesn't even works on home screen). I have to reboot.
2) I receive SMS from missed incoming calls. If I call my S710 from another phone I get a calling tone and then the answering service, but the S710 does nothing.
I had email accounts configured and I thought this problem was from GPRS not letting GSM calls come in (as it says in other threads) but now I have no active email accounts, no GPRS traffic and it is ever worst (3 to 4 reboots a day!)
I honestly don't remember this problem before VOIP client installed.
Anyone has this simptoms???
I do have the same probs
Probably others aren't experiencing the same because they disable the VOIP when no Wifi is available. I'll try to reinstall the VOIP Cab and try that way.
Bought the S710 for it's VOIP cababilities and possibility to hook it to my PBX and finally feel the freedom of VOIP (Ok, bit exagerating but you get my point ).
Anyway, since we're two at the moment, promised to keep you posted.
Thanks for your help.
Ka.
kast did you improve your VoIP configuration tool? I once tried it, but it never worked. I gave you feedback in another thread but never heard of you

Hi there,
sorry for taking so much time. Actually been quite busy lately and well, ok, must admin left this VOIP thing a bit aside.
Anyway, would you mind trying this version, hope it will work a bit better.
Tested with the provider you sent me and it seems to work.
(This is not a Cab Install thing, been packed up in couple of minutes, please unzip it and run it from your mobile.)
I think I'll get back to this so stay tuned for some little enhancements.
Ka.
COOOL.....Works on my modded Tornado with wm06...great!!!!Thanks!!!!
Hello Kast,
After my last post, I unistalled the VOIP software from within the phone's start>Settings>Remove Programs>Sleuth's WM6VoIP
I got this message "Sleuth's WM6VoIP was not completly removed. Do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs?", I didn't remove it.
I then changed the Settings>phone>Internet Calling>"Use Internet Calling" to "Never".
Since then I haven't experienced any troubles at all and I haven't rebooted the phone for some days now! problem solved but no VoIP!
I'll try your VoIP files and see what happends.
Cheers
P.S. My setting for VoIP was "whenever available" but i had WiFi off 99% of the day. (some days even 100%).
Came across an interesting issue with my RAPH whilst away.
The phone would reboot when ringing, or making outbound calls, sometimes the call could be established and a conversation could be had for a random amount of time (never more than a minute) and the phone would suddenly reboot.
I fixed the issue by turning off bluetooth (might have been looking for my headset) and just changing every setting in "Phone" to something and then changing it back.
Havent had an issue since.
figured id post incase anyone else had this frustrating issue.
I guess this might be solved with a different Radio version.
what version are you in?

Are you using S2U2 by any chance?
Mine started doing it since i put S2U2 on but am not sure if its entirely to blame.
Hi all,
I have been doing further testing and can report that S2U2 is not the problem. Its a device issue that occurs when i roam to a GSM network. When on 3G its usually fine. I have just upgraded radio to the .28 to see if this helps.
Both myself and my brother who have the same devices are seeing the same issue. I have seen it on the 3 rom and also the HTC asia rom hence why im looking at radio now.
I tried Radio .32 with no luck. Tried a few different ROMS as well, ROMEoS, the HTC ASIA update as well as the updated 3 ROM with no joy. Shame cause the phone is great apart form this "showstopper", back to my ever trusty Blackjack until a new handset arrives.
I'm on NextG btw, and problem occurs when swictching between GSM, Edge and HSDPA. Unfortunatey both home and office are in spots that switch between signals depending on where I am in the house/office, very frustrating. I'm also 90% sure it only happens when a call and data are happening at the same time, as my phone syncs wth Exchange, this is regularly.
I rang HTC support, they suggested a hard reset, which of course I've done many times, otherwise return for repair/replacement.
Suddenly today, around an hour ago, I found out that I am not able to call from my Fuze. I can dial, but I don't hear any ring of the number I am calling. I put the SIM card in other phone and it can make calls. I am now sure what is wrong, could someone please provide some much needed suggestions?
I wouldn't have opened this thread as a new issue, and even if later it gets moved, I am seeking some urgent help, so I am posting it as a thread. Thanks.
Did you check in the comm manager to see if you turned airplane mode on or turned the radio off?

Yes, I did and the Airplane mode is off and the Radio is on. Somehow, not being able to call has coincided with not being able to connect to 3G too. The problem happened all of as sudden. I even made some calls this morning from my Fuze, and suddenly, it just would not make any more calls from it. Any more suggestions? I really don't want to hard reset it, as I have so much customization on it. Thanks.
i would backup and preform a HR to make sure it's hardware related
is the speaker bad? does the phone work on speakerphone?
does the call fail?
Agreed do a hard reset...if that doesnt work its the phone itself and a warranty issue. Which AT&T will take care of
I want to avoid a hard reset; I did it just last week. I understand why you would suggest to do that, but I want to avoid it, if I can.
The speakers work just fine; I played music. While on a call, I can't hear anything. The call seems to be in progress, but no party can hear anything. I haven't spoken to any person I called to verify if they received my call. If this could be something to do with radio, is there a way to deal with it? I am using everything stock. Please keep your suggestions coming.

The music and the speaker form calling are not the same, does it work on speakerphone?
Thanks for your response scotchua. The speakerphone was not working, to answer your question.
Update: I can make calls now.
But, instead of closing this thread, I would like to keep it alive, as I don't know what created the problem and what solved it. As I said, when I couldn't make calls, the data connection was not getting established either. If it was a problem with the connection or AT&T's tower, I would not have been able to make calls when I inserted my sim card into another phone. For about 6 - 7 hours, I had to use another phone, which does not have the features that Fuze has.
later in the evening, I put the sim cad back into Fuze, just to try if it worked, and it did work; I can make calls now. This actually complicates the problem, as I don;t know what caused it and it scares me that this can happen again and I, or anyone else who would be having a similar problem, will not know how to fix it. If keeping this thread alive does not seem like a waste of time to the community, please provide more suggestions regarding what may have caused the problem. Thanks.
i had the same problem with my fuze. I could not hear from the phone when making a call, but i could hear from the speakerphone. I reset the phone, changed ROM and tried everything. Nothing worked so I had to return the phone for a replacement.
i am having battery drain issues on my sprint touch pro. i believe it stems from the phone waking itself up when it goes into roam mode. i live in a rural area of west TN so as you can imagine this happens quite a bit. i have been through many, many threads on here via the search function and so far haven't found anything that can help me.
i thought maybe the s2u2 program would be the answer, but after reading a bit, it seems like maybe i will have the same issue.
i've also looked into every menu i can find (on the advanced config program even) and so far nothing has worked. i've had the phone since january now and i really like it, but this involuntary waking/battery thing is really killing me.
anyone on here know a fix for this other than disabling roaming? i do like to make and/or receive calls ocassionally.

Turn off 3 G or HSPDA and see if that helps.
i dont know how turning off 3g works with sprint (Cdma) but i could recommend using some sort of auto locking program (start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547367). that way it would keep your phone locked and not completely active when it "wakes up". another option would be to use a program that shuts off your screen when it's in your pocket (http://www.fuzemobility.com/phone-upside-down-backlight-off/). other than that, i dont have much for you.
does anyone know of any reg keys to change that will disable the auto-wake on teh roaming?
I had this - but it didn't seem to be related to roaming.
See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=504016
I'm now on my third Touch Pro.
The first had the above problem which o2 (UK) repair denied was a problem.
The second didn't have the above problem, but did have a faulty speaker.
I'm now two weeks into my third Touch Pro whch so far does not have this problem.
I hard reset and reinstalled software one app at a time and concluded it wasn't a software issue.
After swapping handset's and not seeing the issue, despite having the same software and ROM loaded (stock o2, but the latest handset is a later stock ROM) I've conclude it definitely was a hardware issue.
Can you get a replacement under your warranty?

Hey
Does anyone experience problems of phone having full signal and then dropping it.
The problem I'm experiencing is frequent dropout during calls and being unable to establish them afterwards.
I can send texts and use the internet one minute and the next the phone doesn't work and drops my calls as well as doesn't accept them.
I tried swapping SIMs, rebooting, flight mode, you name it. The phone starts working again after about five minutes.
Here is the error:

I would really appreciate some help. I highly suspect that this started happening with one of the latest updates.
I'm on a vanilla 12.0.3 Global rom.
Cheers

Yup. I have it pinpointed to a software problem as the phone worked just fine until a couple of updates ago. I can't however work out what could cause it.
I'm currently trying toggling VoLTE and changing APN settings (APN had wrong settings but still worked). Maybe the combination of both could cause problem.
I have also found out that SMS and data connection works fine all the time. It's just the calling function that causes the problem. I can listen to Spotify all day and it will work but as soon as someone tries to call me the signal will drop and everything stops. When I call the same thing happens. The bars just drop to 0 and playback stops. It resumes right after and works fine as long as I don't try to call. If I do the same thing happens.
The issue resolves itself after 5-30 minutes or so and then everything works totally fine.
So yeah if I had a rooted phone I would definitely contribute this to faulty rom or a rogue app. But I don't have one so it should work fine.
I've managed to capture it on video (sorry for the shaky camera but it was hard to film using one hand):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxusuCwsiBc&t=2s
Reboots, flight mode, swapping SIM cards (using a brand new one), using a SIM in slot 1 or slot 2, heck both slots, VoLTE on or off... I have literally tried everything. Nothing changes. Placing the same card in my other phone is fine. The problem happens everywhere and not only in one place so it's not reception. Also it doesn't matter if I'm moving or not so it's not switching between towers.
Same prob
I have the same prob, and I also tried every thing even flashing lineage didn't help, did u manage to find solution????

Sort off. I had to send it to a service center and they've returned my money as it was deemed irreparable.
