I am in a bit of a pickle regarding my company provided mobile phone. They gave me a Danish OS Windows Mobile 6.1 installed HTC Touch HD. I sent it back for exchange for a English OS. I have been waiting for the past 4 weeks to receive an English OS unit and my patience is running thin.
I am thinking of getting back the Danish OS HTC Touch HD. Am I correct in assuming that running the WWE SoftSPL for the Blackstone will solve my language problem without voiding the manufacturer's warranty?
Please advice.

Im a newcomer in PocketPC world.
Last week i just bought O2 - Xda Mini with German Language.
Since i knew there are many more software for it in English than in German, I Prefer the English version one.
Im getting frustated to change the Windows Mobile 2003 SE language from German into English in my XDA Mini. :roll:

The only way I think you can do it is to download one of the WWE roms from the XDA developers ftp site. This will mean you will ave to do a hard reset so backup everything beforehand. Read the sticky up the top of this forum.

yes XDA orbit 2 is same HTC polaris
it will be released at around the end of January (2008) in the UK, so that's an english version. Don't know if/when WWE or english ROMs etc. will be released, its still very young. Price wise buying from germany/europe will be slightly cheaper than uk (currency)
i have the xda orbit 2 on wm 6 with a lot of programs .ie,,copilot 7 ,spb .photos ,,will i lose these all ..i realey dont know what to do for the beast shall i go for the 6.1 upgrade [from the o2 site] or what please advise

I know, you will probably say this phone doesn't support Windows Mobile, but i contacted the supplier and he told me that the phone itself isn't loaded with Windows Mobile, but it can and does support it. Which version could i use for this phone?

Since this phone has a touch screen WM pro will be the version to use.
On how to put it on this phone, the easy way would be... Who am i kidding, there is no easy way to put WM on this, unless you port WM from scratch to this
So it isn't possible to load this phone with WM?

You must feel strange Why lots of Chinese users who use dopod 828,828+... hope that you can develop a WM 6.1 Simplified Chinese ROM。I could tell you.
I'm a dopod 828+ user from China.It was 4 years ago when I bought my dopod 828+.This phone was the phone that have the strongest function in the computer phones.It has Intel CPU,128MB memory,2700G Video card,and so on. I used it from 2004 to 2006 with WM2003SE ROM。In the following years,Microsoft developed WM5.0,WM5.0 with Security software package,WM6.0,WM6.1 and WM6.5 ROMs，These ROMs only support the phones that after dopod 828+ in the computer phone's history,such as dopod 830,838,C758,S1(Maybe there are some name that you don't know because some phone was only sale in china) .So,we have a discuss about if dopod828 can work with WM5.0 and higher ROMs in the Chinese Computer phone's BBS.
At last,we feel depressed because the WM5.0 ROM need 256MB memory.
So,when we find that you develop a WM6.1 ROM for HTC magican,Can you feel how happy we are?

Can you suggest any suitable WM 6.1 ROM in English language?
I´m not sure you´ll find it here...
As we dedicate to HTC devices only and not sure about compatibility...
Better not to buy imitations/copies, they are not good quality
