hi i bought the xda zest today because i can't afford my contract on the BB storm and its wayyy to low so i was wondering if there is a hack or mod or app that can enchance the sound past its normal capabilities.
Thank you
meaning.. quality and volume?
volume.. i doubt it.
quality.. you can download SRS WOW HD from the forum (just search for it)
Does any one know how to make srs wow hd work on xda zest. I was trying to install the cab but it wasn't successful....

if you familiar with electronics i would suggest you make a pocket amp for it it will really improve the audio quality and loudness....
do a search on how to build a CMOY amp
if you dont feel comfortable building one your self i can peice one for you for a price ofcourse lol
I am using Motorola s9 hd Bluetooth headphones. And I would love to have an audio booster for this or an equalizer for it. A stand alone equalizer.

no diy stuff for bluetooth... maybe some day someone will make somethin for the market...
There has to be a media player that has a built in preamp
Boostaroo is a decent headphone inline amplifier I use in my rigged aux in for my car... SRSWow would be the plugin I recommend for Android development most (currently on my Fuze).. It clears the mids and provides better seperation and clarity.
SRSWOW FTW!
most recent HTC windows phone always come with the AUDIO BOOSTER once u plug in a headphone but i dont know if other androids by HTC has any.my recent retired HTC HD2 had one and it was really working out for me.

Astro player Beta on market has an EQ. In the comments someone noted that the EQ works for .mp3 only.

audio player with eq... expensive and from the reviews, the music play sucks but the EQ is solid

Interesting thread..

sorry guys those files r not compatible with the supersonic.i tried the beta half of the screen was missing.lookin forward to a 100% working audio tweaks for the supersonic hopefully someday.
check out astro player. there's a file, in the nexus forums i believe. it has an equalizer, definitely helps for mp3s. it's subtle, but it's something. i may also check out the modified sound files vinny posted (his 2nd link).
I wonder if we could improve the audio quality by combining the kernel source from this thread: {KERNEL-SOURCE} GoDmOdE-EVO-2.6.29 {Make Shift Kernel} http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686240&page=7
with the patch from this announcement: Audio Mod for the Nexus One! http://androidaudiohacks.com/home/archives/182
specifically: http://github.com/cyanogen/cm-kernel/commit/f044b1069c4d853e535fce2b800a0af4947a22f7#diff-0 to http://github.com/toastcfh/HTC-Supe...blob/master/arch/arm/mach-msm/qdsp6/q6audio.c

Just tested this app.. The UI is hot garbage but the EQ works and adds clarity to the stock mudd. Recommended for those with playlists who set it and forget it in the car.. No widget or default stop when unplugged.

Hey guys,
When I first got my inspire I loved the audio output coming from the headphone Jack. I am now running the android revolution rom and the sound quality sounds like it leaves something to be desired on the lower end frequencies, I was wondering if anyone else noticed this and what you did to fix it
Thanks
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
ARHD 6.1.0 has known audio issues on the Inspire (judging by the comments in the dev thread). Earlier versions may need the Inspire tinny fix applied to them (link is in the dev thread).
BTW your question would be better placed in the Q&A thread for ARHD.
Youre right, my apologies. Can the mods please move this to the right section?
And while I'm at it ill ask this question to everyone. Which ROM have all of you found to have the best sound quality?
I came from a Captivate and the Voodoo sound enhancement made phone sound better than my laptop with SRSwow sound effects. I was hoping this phone would be just as good if not better with the Dolby and SRS built in
*EDIT* I was using poweramp then decided to give playerpro with the DSP pack a try and it sounds waayyy better. Definitely worth a try

not to shamelessly plug away....but......
With a response from the dev himself I'm going to have to check it out

Yeah I never had a problem with the sound in the stock firmware. It was a lot better considering I came from an x10 which had horrible quality. Depends on what your standards are.
I have been searching for sound booster app/solution but cant find one. I tried Voodoo's apps but they arent compatible with Skyrocket. Anyone figured this out?
Yep give up hope

The only success I had with increased volume was the xloud baked in sky ics. I miss it but I'm loving mhx.

Jacking up the EQs on Equalizer by Smart Audio Apps, market link, definitely boosts the sound but busts up quality. The reason I am looking for a solution to this is sometimes I get AVIs that are just a little too quiet. I could put them in a video program, adjust audio levels and export but its too much trouble.
Hey all, I'm new to XDA and just picked up a HTC sensation. I noticed the sound quality, coming from an iphone to Sensation, is not even close. Any sugguestions (apps/tweaks) since this model does not come with beats audio already on it? (FYI I have not rooted/unlockd the phone) Thanks in advance.
Root it. Then you can put on a rom that has beats already installed. All it is is software
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
like the above post says. First root your phone then install any custom rom that has beats audio in it.
root your device.. Then you can install new mods (softwares) which can increase the sound of your speakers or like the above stated.. Use a beats enabled ROM.. The thing about iphone is (after using iphones for past 3 years) its not as customizable as the android phone. And i feel, amongst the android phone.. HTC device has the most quality and best community interms of development.
You can try what you like but nothing I've done (beats/volume+/etc.) has made any real difference and compared to the iphone the sound output is a complete joke (my friends and family with iphones have literally started laughing out the output.)

It actually is embarrassing trying to play a song I like for my girlfriend on this phone and it royally fails. I then sheepishly ask to use her 4S which just abuses this phone. And good luck talking on the phone with the windows down. You won't hear a damn thing.
Literally my only complaint about this phone. Wish they would have put a better speaker in this bad boy.

Does rooting really enhances the audio quality? How drastic is the change?

sensation has a terrible loudspeaker
nothing you can really do about it to be honest. equalizers wont help much since its more of a hardware issue (they used a ****ty speaker)
headphone quality is amazing though
Using srs made my sensation sound better than a 3gs

Sound quality in sensation is hardware issue more than software (although the stock player isn’t good too, as crosstalk problem is really serious). Not only the speaker mentioned above, chip used, amp circuit used are not quite well in sensation. Having beats audio won’t help much too as it is only a (software) equalizer boosting the bass and treble, if you able to try EQ with variable cf and Q, or 1/2Oct EQ, boosting first 3 and last 3(for 1/2 Oct) with 4dB, you'll get what HTC called "beats audio". Qualcomm CPU is also a problem affecting sound quality as it forced resampling the sound signal from 44.1kHz (usually used by CDs and Android will also force resampling to this) to 48kHz(used by video format), which increase the total harmonic distortion.
Few things you can try to improve sound quality of sensation, install music player (Poweramp, PlayerPro, Neutron, Rockbox, etc.), using a better headphone (better with active noise cancellation as mobile phones usually have serious distortion due to wireless signal, monitor, mobile signal, etc.). Equalizers won’t help sound quality but coloring it.

Its not rooting that enhances the sound its the mods you can apply afterwards that will.

We got our Sensation 4Gs with OS 2.3.4 and the audio in/out sucked. The OTA ICS 4.0.3 update addressed a lot of those issues. It doesn't fix the hardware but the speakers sound a little louder and definitely clearer, as does the audio in newer video recordings. Recordings played back from before the ICS update still exhibit "audio crappiness".
root your sensation first
Wondering if anyone installed the Beats Audio drivers from the App Market, and what thoughts are on pre- and post-install.
I installed, it removed the hiss but bass was a little off, not satisfied enough to keep it as it also knocks you off the update with stock firmware.

Install Ac!d audio v5 from xda... It is much better because it incorporates all other sound technologies as well.... Try either the noozxide or awesome bests add ons... My bass sounds much more clear now
Thanks for the info. I'll give it a shot.
