Hey All,
This is mostly for general information as to how the driver writing process works for this device.
The chip inside is a Qualcomm and ATi on the same chip, which everyone probably knows by now.
Most of the chip is qualcomm with the ATi for the 3d portion, Qualcomm is just the 2d portion. The ATi guys write up the their part and send it off the qualcomm. Then Qualcomm packages it in their driver... and depending on the customer request choose to enable or disable the 3d pieces. (Think X800 v X850 on a software level).
The roadblock is between Qualcomm and HTC. HTC needs to get together with qualcomm to produce a set of qualcomm drivers with it enabled. From my understanding it's a case of HTC needing to ask and they will likely receive.
Oooooooook....

... You know what? from my understanding You don't understand much, do You?
afaik there is no chance that qualcomm will give extended support for it's chip to htc for free..... I believe that with full functionality this chip would be much more expensive resulting with even more expensive tytn II devices.
think about it.

In a certain way we have nothing more than a tytn I with a new coat on.. thats the way i see it.
When i got my tytn II in september i was a little disappointed to see that its almost the same and there wasn t really anything new except the internal GPS and his new look.
And its was costing me 545 euro without VAT
Seriously- Could you be more rude? If your so smart then come up with a solution. Otherwise, just help out and don't flame.

yupp.... sorry for being a bit harsh and ruff on edges.
next time I'll suggest to close such a pointles thread instead of trying to explain anything to op.
I thought, that at this stage every xda-dev member have knowledge of the situation (if not then read/search before posting) and the fact, that nothing in this world will probably make qualcomm or htc give us a free solution.
You know what? I'll stfu and now let's trash this forum bit 'mo... :/

I was checking some website's to find more info about the phone. And I've seen this:
Processor/ Chipset • 400 MHz Qualcomm® MSM 7200™
Does someone has this device. Does it have the video driver fix?? Can we get the drivers trought I-Mate??

Someone????????
Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you dug a little deeper, you would've found that the device still hasn't been released.
Actually none of the Ultimate line has been released as far as I know (and according to asia.cnet.com).
I'm sure we'll be all afire to pick apart the dll's on the phone if it comes with video drivers.

True True True!
So when it gets released, is it possible to get the driver from there and implement it onto our device? Or is it just a "we can try".

Think, when it releases htc has already released the drivers.
9502
Hey... here in Australia the Tesltra web-site says that the 9502 is having it's world first launch here in Aus... in early March! So maybe the video driver can be grabbed form it after all.....
Telstra also too a full back cover of PC-Authority to advertis ethe device and the 8502 as well... so pretty certain they will be here soon....

thanks for that review. I had been quite interested before impatience got the better of me. Glad I didn't bother waiting!
Slow down guys. Nobody knows anything yet. Several devices use the MSM7200, a few with drivers (LG), none have turned out to be anywhere near a solution, let alone an easy fix. Nothing is for sure until cmonex, oli, chainfire, or a couple other dedicated Kaiser Gurus get there hands on it, see how it was written, what's required, & if it's even possible. Even with the drivers, do we know if the Hardware is there & unrestricted?

Think you forgot McMexican in your list after chainfire

Yeah sorry man
It's been one of those days. I think I've had to slap 15 newbies & debricked (well it was a total brick for them) about 14 Kaiser/Tilts.
I'll be sure to remember you next time though!
So has someone managed to get one?

Hey Guys & Girls...
I have just got an i-Mate Ultimate 9502,
was wondering if there was any ROMs avaliable for this device as yet?
I had the JasJam before this one and loved the Schaps ROMs..
Cheers,
Cat..
How are the pictures and video with that phone I was waiting for it to come out. I thought I had read it was not going to be released.

So tell us about your i-mate's performance.
Have you tried any games? Watched some videos?
The hardware is different between Kaiser and 9502 even if both are based on MSM7200.
LCD/video is different, Camera probably different, keyboard..etc and it is not like Kaiser and Polaris which are both made by HTC.
Cooking a ROM from different hardware is risky and might lead to a brick.
Please be careful.
Also, if they have the US version it has the MSM7201. The version of the 7200 minus the patent infringing features.
Qualcomm has temporarily removed the content about msm7200 chipset and pm7500 chip which are useful in porting android to HTC Kaiser. Anybody can send copies of them to me?
to: [email protected]
Thanks a lot.

I'm pretty sure they were never there in the first place. I don't know anyone who ever got the datasheet all we could obtain were the marketing sheets on the chipset.

It's about the processor of htc touch cruise , i've just bought one of this, and i'm trying to search the net to see if it has integrated video processor . because i did not know about the issue of video drivers , and it really sux without them , i don't recommend . i mean it's very slow . and it's allmost clear it has 3d hardware integrated .
Hi everybody.
I'm new to the forum and in the world of roms.
Though I did root my first smartphone, an Acer.
when I was looking for a way to ban Google out of my life I soon came to /e/os.
I decided to look for a good phone thats supported by eos. At first I ordered a fairphone 3+, but because I found it a bit expensive for what it was I canceled that order and did go for a s9+ with exynos chipset. Because it's listed in the eos supported devices. But now I did read somewhere that after u flash a Rom on this phone, official updates are no longer supported..this is a bad thing isnt it?Can someone tell me more about this please?
Thank u
