erase splash2 without fastboot - G1 Android Development

Is there any way to do this? My friend's G1 is going back to T-Mobile for hardware issues (Will not send/recieve any data over the USB port). I took DREAIMG.NBH, flashed it onto his phone and now the original T-Mobile Splash shows for about a second and then changes to his custom splash. Any ideas?

Hangs at bootscreen

I flashed my M500 a while back with a bigstorage rom but reflahed it later with the official rom (update from Orange).
Yesterday I again tried to put a bigstorage ROM onto my device but apparently something went wrong because when I rebooted my device it hanged at the bootscreen. So I reflashed it again with the original ROM (over USB) but still it hangs at the bootscreen (WM logo). I left it on my desk for a complete day but still it was only showing the bootscreen. I can get into bootloader mode and tried different shipped ROMs but they all hang at the bootscreen. What can be wrong?
After trying another couple of ROMs, different PCs and different USB cables I finally (should have done this in the beginning) reflashed it with a SD card with my original ROM I had backed-up before I began this whole process.
So maybe I should try to upgrade my ROM with a SD card instead of over USB. How can I do that with a shipped ROM?

[Q] G1 with original SPL, no recovery and wrong network provider, what now?

Hi everybody,
I did something stupid. I had a Cyanogen 6 running on my G1 for about 2 weeks. Today it suddenly started to reboot itself without my ingerence. It went into a boot loop. I wanted to go to recovery and flash a different rom but it didnt go to recovery just hanging up on the g1 logo boot screen.
Now the stupid part:
I read somewhere that I can go into bootloader and flash a different DREAIMG.NBH to run the recovery again - I did that. I flashed RC7 and now my SPL went to original and the recovery is gone.
I boot up the phone and it seems to be some 1.5 I think. The problem is that it wants to connect to T-Mobile while its not available in my country and it doesnt let me get pass through the google account setup. I cant sign in or create a new one since T-Mobile is not available in Poland.
I can't use the phone.
What can I do now? How to fix it? Help.
Thanks,
Chris

[Q] T Mobile G1 No image file assistance.

Hi there,
couple of weeks back my unrooted, unmolested G1 switched off, so when i switched it back on it just goes into boot loop with the TMOBILE G1 screen.
Pressing Home and power does the same, however pressing camera and power gets me to boot loader.
I have formatted my SD card to FAT 32 and copied two different DREAIMG.NBH files onto the card but whenever it boots to boot loader i just get "no image file"
can anyone assist - i'm not even fussed about rooting the phone, i'd just like to be able to get it back to factory default!
cheers

Bump!
Anyone assist with this?

[Q] Dead screen?

Well, I finished a phone call last night, and when I hung up, the screen froze. I've had this type of behavior from my phone before, so I pulled the battery and restarted. Problem is, the screen will not turn on. I can try booting normally, which hangs as soon as logcat mentions the screen size. I can boot into recovery, but no screen image is displayed (adb access is there,) and I can boot into the bootloader (fastboot commands all work,) but again, no screen.
Is this a hardware problem? I've tried manually restoring some nandroids via fastboot to no avail.
Thanks
I have the same problem
I have successfully flashed the original rom (blind), but it still does not work ...

I notice you're not on TMobile, but they offered to replace mine. I did a bit of poking around and it does in fact look like the display hardware fails to initialize. See if your carrier can replace it for you. How did you flash the stock rom with no screen (Are there CWM shell commands I don't know about)? I want to flash mine to stock before I send it in to TMO.

[Q] my XOOM is in a constant reboot loop! HELP!!!!

I had my 4G xoom unlocked and rooted, installed Tiamat 2.2 on it (which then killed the 3G) so I decided to flash back to stock, but somehow screwed up the backup, managed to go back to factory 3G image with the HRI66.zip file I found in another thread. It unrooted my phone and relocked it, but now it's in a constant reboot loop, showing the honeycomb images for nearly 45 minutes now. What's my options? My computer wont talk to it, because I can't even get into it to enable USB debugging.... UGH!
sooo..... I let my device run dead.... then powered it up, went into fastboot mode, which took me straight to the unlock screen.... because I didn't lock it when I unrooted it.... All fixed..... except still NO 3G!!!!!
