Turn XDA into Bluetooth headset/carkit - General Questions and Answers

Hi all,
Is it possible to turn my PDA (with Windows Mobile 6.1 Classic) into a bluetooth headset. So I can dial and receive calls on this PDA.
Or maybe there's software available to do this?
I know it possible to dial via bluetooth, but I also want to receive calls. And use the PDA's microphone and speaker. (Let the PDA act like a headset/carkit)
Thanks in advance

hehe. intriguing questions you have...
never heard of such an option.
I know you can receive calls thru your PC/MAC using your headset or device.. but i don't know of a pairing of 2 PDAs one acting as a headset..

I know its possible with PC/MAC and found software to do this, but couldn't find anything about doing this using a PDA.
I hope there is such an application out there.
If not, maybe someone can point me into a right direction on programming my own handsfree application.
Will I be able to let my application show up as bluetooth 'Hands free' service?

as i'm not a programmer i can't help you with that.. there are a few programmers around.. you can ask them.
l3v5y, supbro, oldsap, vijay555... PM one of them.. maybe they can help out a bit.

Bluetooth-Headset-Call Recorder/Answering machine.

Hello!
I am searching for some software, that would make HTC Hermes (or any) PPC to act like Bluetooth headset/handsfree to another phone (any older, supporting Handsfree/ headset BT profile, for example old Nokia 6230). The PPC software acting as BT handsfree on PPC records all the calls or acts also as answering machine when call(s) not answered.
I think it should be possible and good software solution for HTC Hermes for example. So does anyone know such software available? I have been searching with no good result.

Can`t create "incomming Comm Port" on WM6 Bluetooth Stack

Hi,
I have to use a special Bluetooth Tool for my Business. With this Tool I have to send and receive some Files, to make a malfunction detection on Electronic Devices. At my last PDAs, I paired my tool and my PDA at first, and then I create a Serial Connection. After that I have to assign a free incoming and outgoing Comm Port, to send and receive some Data files.
But now I have a Problem on my new XDA Orbit 2 (Polaris) PDA. `This is my first WM6 Device, and on this one, I cannot create an incoming Comm Port, because there is no possibility to create an incoming Comm Port. What can I do, to solve this Problem. Is it possible to add this Feature at the WM6 Bluetooth Stack?
Thank you for Helping!
Nobody with the same Problem?
Does nobody know to fix this Problem? Maybe we only need some File out of the Old WM5 OS, to create an incoming Come Port in the new WM6 OS?
Thank you...
How can any body offer any help without knowing this "special tool"

Hi,
The Problem is not the "Bluetooth Stick" called tool. The Problem is, that it is not possible to create an incoming comm Port, on the newer WM6 Devices. But this incoming Comm Port is a necessary Condition, to receive Data from a disturbed machine, through this Bluetooth Stick, onto my PDA. This Data I need for a intelligent error evaluation.
I hope, someone can help...

It would be worthwhile to know the brandname of your hardware and specifications of it. There are so many products called "Bluetooth Stick".

Hi,
The only specitfications about the Bluetooth Stick Tool I is, that it run only under "Master Mode", and not under "Slave Mode", because it` s more security for the Data. And the Master Mode would be work only with an"incomming Port". Sorr, but more Information I could not get from the Manufactor.
Thanky for helping...
Does nobody knows the Answer ?
I'd be intereseted if you ever come up with a solution. I'm trying to create an incoming com port so that I can use GPS2Blue with my car PC. No luck as of yet. I'll post if I find anything.
U cannot create incoming port on WM6 BT stack. But so far i didnt have any problems wits sending/recieving files, comunication with external BT GPS. Al u need 2 do is properly pair devices, properly configure external GPS settings & open outgoing port. Truth is i didnt test ext BT GPS with my Orbit2(o2 branded polaris), but i tryed it w/ Orbit & Universal (both WM6). I can try it today and i'll let U know

I'm not trying to use external GPS. I'm trying to use a program called GPS2Blue to route the signal from my internal GPS to a car PC via bluetooth. I thought the WM6 BT stack does support SPP, but does not advertise it as a service, thus creating the difficulty in creating SPP connections. I could be wrong though...
u dont need to create incoming port - thats if U want to recieve some data from [another device] with TC data flows 2 TC(tc is recipient) in your case u need too create OUTGOING (TC is sender)
incoming port problem
well I cannot use my bluetooth handsfree for incoming calls on my T-Mobile Vario II.I can make outgoing calls. There is no option in WM6 for creating incoming part.
I have tried diffrent bluetooth sets but no joy.I had no problems with WM5.
Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Wether a port is incoming or outgoing depends on which device initiates the connection, not which way data flows. For example, in your earlier example of an external BT GPS paired with a Pocket PC, the Pocket PC uses an outgoing connection to the GPS because it initiates the connection, not because data is flowing from the PPC to the GPS.
This is why I need to create an incoming port for my computer to see the PPC as an external BT GPS unit. The mapping program on the computer initiates the connection, then GPS coordinates are sent from the phone to the computer.
I've seen other programs that create their own virtual incoming port. Maybe that is what GPSGate does (I've heard it works for this use).

well I have two Brand New MDA Vario 2 handsets with offical Tmobile windows mobile 6 rom. Mobile handset cannot be faulty.
As I said it was working fine when it was on WM5.
Bletooth headset work perfectly with other mobile phones including Vario 1 with WM5.

I have Polaris(o2 orbit2) & MotoROKR S9(beckham ed) w/o any probs. but this thread is dedicated to polaris, maybe smth similar was already covered in vario II thread. Try to check there, or post it there.
I have an old Motorola H350 headset and it works fine both ways (incoming/outgoing calls)... so based on your descriptions the incoming port of my Polrais works...
For setting Incoming port you can just simply copy few registry entries from WM5 to WM6.
I have used it for my application smartWatchM. I dont know how it works, but it does.

Thank you. You are my Hero...
It`s exact that`s what I need. Now my Bluetooths Device is working fine, and the XDA Orbit2 (Polaris) is the best PDA for my Requirements.
And Greetings to "Schaggo" Member in St. Gallen... Thanks for your good Work.
Is there any chance someone could let me know what those registry settings are? I have the same problem with not being able to create an incoming com port but I don't have a wm5 device to reference at the moment.
Thanks in advance,

you'v lost me here. How can u use a device as a headset ? I dont think thats possible....
The speaker and microphone. I guess not an actual headset, but I think you know what I mean now. I am looking for a way to connect the phone via bluetooth to some other device such that the other device thinks it is a bluetooth headset. I don't imagine many people have a need for this, but if anyone knows of any software that might work for this purpose, please, let me know! thanks,
tim.
I found this thing http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/...tType=2&catalog=0&sectionId=0&productId=55936 for ppc 2002 that lets you pair your ppc with a phone and dial your phone.
I guess something like this would work for me too, if anyone knows of something for windows mobile that would let me pair a window mobile device with a bluetooth enabled phone and use my windows mobile device to place calls from my other phone.
i see what u mean this software will work for WM devices as well at least it says so in the config

bluetooth stack changing?

Heya guys,
I'm having some major issues with the default ms bt stack in regards to connecting my dell bh200 stereo bluetooth headset. I can connect to it to play stereo music but it refuses to pick up calls, the moment a call comes it, it disconnects itself immediately. I'm wondering if this is an issue with the MS stack. Is there a way for me to change the bt stack into widcomm's or something like that? anyways, drop a message if you know something. thankyou very much!
I'm having a bit of trouble with the bluetooth on my unit as well. Are you able to send files to your device using a bluetooth dongle on your PC? or files from other phones to your Touch Pro?
hi i'm trying to pair my bluetooth headset (Samsung WEP200) but everytime i put the pin number (that is given by the bluetooth headset) it always said "Your Device did not connect with Samsung WEP200. The connection Failed or the passcode is incorrect".
how to install the hotfix (the hot fix from HTC website) on my HTC Touch Pro? everytime i copy the .exe file into my device, and run it, i always got an error box. Incorrect Device, "Please use the correct Device to Install This Hotfix program!" i don't know how it happen, i download this from HTC support page. i select the phone (HTC Touch Pro) and in the "Software Download" tab it show that there are 3 available download, the Hotfix, the Rom and Application.
i really need help....... pls, someone that have the same proble with theit HTC Touch Pro bluetooth connection.....
I can send files to my PC, the bluetooth connection in general is ok, but when it comes to having the the stereo bt headset to pick up a call, it freaks out and the headset turns itself off. any ideas on that?
/bump to page one for help
what do you mean bump to page 1 for help?? i post a thread before, but no one help me to solve the problem... i'm really frustrating to paired my bkuetooth headset.... =(
i just wish people who have the same problem and already solve it can help me....
what I mean is that you need to stop posting help me replies to every single post there is about bluetooth in effort to get others to help you rather than the original poster. what it also means is that stalking every bt related post and copy/pasting your problems for the same reason (as mentioned above) is also pretty rude. if you would like help, make a thread or search for it while having a separate thread.
there are people on xda that are well versed in wm6.1, but it's a matter of being lucky enough to have them notice it or happen to have one that knows about this stuff deciding to help.
p.s if you need help w a specific issue, start a thread, not derail it for your own personal benefit please.
p.p.s i'm not trying to be a jerk, it may sound like it but i'm not in the mood to be one
Are there any other bt stack options for wm6.1 or am I short out of luck?

HTC Titan Bluetooth Auto Answer Issue

I searched and found this topic covered like 2 yrs ago but no one responded with an answer on that one so I'm going to try again.
I have a Verizon XV6800 (HTC Titan, Spring Mogul) and I'm working on connecting it to a PC that I will install into my car as a CarPC. Software is limited out there that work well with a PPC phone and is easily integrated into the front end im using on the PC. Bc of this I made a skin for the frontend that controls the phone using MyMobiler and I want the audio to come over the BT. I set it up using a Belkin BT Dongle and configured the Voice Gateway feature. It works good if I want to make a call, but when I receive a call it auto answers almost immediately. (less than 1 ring) I checked all the setting and auto answer is turned off all that.
The issue seems to me is that the PC and Phone don't make a connection until a call is started. So when I get an incoming call it then connects and I guess assumes im putting on a BT headset therefore I want to answer the phone... I need it to not auto answer... If i have the music on in the car i dont even hear it ring and before i know it someone is listening in on me in the car on the other end of the phone and i dont even realize it....
Any ideas on how to make it not auto answer? Maybe something in the registry? Or how to make it stay connected to the computer when im in range like it would if I had my headset on?
Thanks for any help!
