Hi,
I would appreciate any help on getting a CSD data call established on the HTC Touch Diamond (WM 6.1 Pro).
I am able to initiate a call from the device (to a DoPod with WM 6.0), but the call does not seem to be established properly. From my debugging output, I can see the DoPod transmitting data, but the Diamond is not receiving or transmitting anything.
When I try to make a CSD data call to the Diamond, the device does not even detect any incoming call.
I can setup and get data flowing between the DoPod and HTC Touch (WM 6.0). But the HTC Touch Diamond doesn't work properly.
I hope it's not due to WM 6.1 not being able to complete the CSD Data call properly. All these devices have network connection settings available for "CSD Line Type" to change parameters like data rate and connection element.
Thank you for any tips that you can offer.

Hi jidtrawadee,
I'm planning to write a CSD end2end tool in C#, but I'm just at the very beginning...
Which API do you use? Do you use a TAPI-Wrapper?
I've read something about CSD problems on HTC devices in this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=279759
Maybe this can help you.
If you're not sure whether your devices support CSD, you can look for a tool that makes use of CSD-line: e.g. free test versions of Scrambit or SecureGSM (google)
Thanks for a feedback!

Hey there...
I'm new here so sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place....I hope to become an active member of this community in the future hopefully.
Anyways I have a HTC P4350 (Herald) and tried to configure the VOIP Program Vbuzzer on it. I installed WM6VoIP.cab and SipConfigTool_2_0_1.CAB
and configured the SipConfig tool with the server as vbuzzer.com and port as 80. Then I configured "Sip Over 3g/GSM" & "Enable via Reg."
The problem is that now I'm getting the notification that Internet calling is available ("Internet Calling Available" is displayed on the home screen) but when I open the dialer, it still shows my GSM operator instead of VBuzzer....Is my GSM operator blocking Vbuzzer? Is there a way to go around this problem? I would really appreciate your assistance...
similar problem here
same problem, I did get my hands on a vbuzzer for windows mobile but I'm yet to get an account with them. Does anyone else use vbuzzer here on their phones. wing, herald, p4350 ?
Hi,
I tried to use Skype on my VDA V (Vodafone branding / SDA appl. unlock). Installing is no problem, but if I try to call (Echo and Sound test) then Skype tell "connecting", then ringing (rings one time) and then Skype switch of.
Under Menu Settings / Telephone / Internettelefonie (german/ means Voip) I have switch on "ever if available".
Is it a special Vodaphone problem, that Vodaphone ROM is not allowing Voip (I think Vodaphone would like that user call about Vodaphone net) ???
Can you help me ?
Regards Odiad
GPRS settings maybe?

I'm using the same config as you do, but in the Netherlands Vodafone.
Did you run the Vodafone setup (downloadable .exe) for provider configuration? (or do it manually thru the information on the Vodafone website).
When connected thru WIFI I have no problems. Using GPRS I sometimes first need to "create" the connection manually (by opening a page in IE or other internet needing program)
Make sure you downloaded the latest skype mobile for the S710. The "general" version doesn't work for me, probably 'cause of the firmware.
Hopefully these were the things you were looking for.
HI Syserror,
I ve just downloaded newest version of skype (2.5 Beta). But when I try to use skype I see same behavior. I see my Skype contacts (that means I am connected with skype and with my account) and I tried calling echo/sound test service and there was stiil the same probelm (connecting, one times ringing, and then Skype switches off.
So version of skype is not the reason why it doesn't work. I am connected with wifi (my home WLAN router, I can go into internet without problems, or get my Emails - so WLAN is okay). Any other ideas??
regards Odiad

Hi,
it's me again. I googled a little bit and found a link to skype 2.2.0.18 which should run on VDA V. I tried and yes it runs. Or I hope so - I tried only echo/sound test service because I have no money on my skye account. But echo and sound test runs well, I think it is okay now.

Hello,
I am an experienced ROM chef in the CDMA world, I have created kitchens for 4 or 5 CDMA devices and I'm really not new to cooking at all, but I have never had a GSM device.
A friend of mine has asked me to create a kaiser base for him. I have done so, and the ROM works as expected, with one exception: SMS is not functioning.
I have tried 2 different ways of configuring my ROM for his carrier (ATT): using the ConnectionSetup package and allowing it to run at first boot, or including connection provxml straight from ATT's 3.57 kaiser ROM. Both methods give my user a working data connection.
I guess what I am getting at is - what is the trick to SMS on GSM? Keep in mind I have never owned/used a GSM device, and I am looking at this from a kitchen level - I am assuming there has to be some kicker I am unaware of to make SMS work on a GSM network.
I have seen a control panel applet that appears to let the user select GSM or GPRS network for SMS. I have had my user select both and he has been unable to send or recieve on either setting. Again, his data connection is working fine, so my assumption was that if SMS via GSM was not working, he would have been able to use SMS via GPRS. Maybe I am not understanding how SMS works...
I have noticed that on CDMA devices, HTC replaces the MSFT SMS_providers.dll with their own HTC_SMS_Providers.dll. I have not dug in to find out what this is doing, because SMS has always worked fine for me on CDMA. I do not see this same setup in GSM ROMs. I am removing lockstream, but I thought that was common for GSM chefs as well. Lockstream includes smsTrigger.exe, and I do not know what this does, but what would SMS have to do with DRM?
I really hope this makes sense/rings a bell to someone. All my ROM cooking friends work in CDMA land...
What is involved in the process of SMS on GSM?
TIA for any advice.
Hey DCD, it has been a long time. I was in the Titan forum for a long time but now am in the Blackstone phone. Attached is some SMS/MMS settings that I got in the Blackstone (GSM phone) forum and think it might help with getting the right settings possible. Hope it helps.
I dont think cooking for CDMA is any different than GSM, except for adding a few operator dependent packages.
Either way, what SYS are you using? Have you tried with different SYS and see if it is a problem?
Does he has this problem with stock AT&T ROM?
Maybe those questions can help solve the issue.
try dumping stock rom and using those oemdrivers with known good sys/ext and it should work
thanks for your responses-
solved, i am an idiot, i had the following in my cdma sys cleanup package that obviously shouldnt be used for gsm:
; SYS\Phone
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\SIM]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SimMgr]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Cellular\SimToolkit\LaunchBrowser]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Cellular\SimToolkit\LaunchBrowser\Csd]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Cellular\SimToolkit\LaunchBrowser\Csd]
sorry for wasting your time with my stupidity :/
mods please close/trash this thread
Sometimes a mistake such as that can happen to anyone. I suggest to put some part of this into the kitchen wiki ..

Fring Wont Connect
Am having the same problem too any ideas guys
I installed this yesterday on my Tilt2 with iDialer and it was working. Now I'm getting the same message..."Could not establish connection to the fring network..."
It looks like the site might be down as their mobile site indicates "Service Unavailable"
My Cingular 8525 (HTC Hermes w/o front-facing camera) running WM6 on a stock Cingular ROM isn't enabling the built-in SIP functions in WM6 correctly. I filled out the _setup.xml as per the "SIP calling in WM6" guide, packaged it into a CAB using CabArc, installed it on the device, and did a soft reset. When I did so, I got "Internet Calling: Service Blocked" on my Today screen. So, After trying again a number of times (making sure to delete Prov0SIPSettings between tries), I got the same message half of the time, and "Internet Calling: Available" the other half. I'm still unable to make SIP calls. I tried with the _setup.xml my brother used to [successfully] enable VoIP on his AT&T Tilt (HTC Kaiser w/o front-facing camera) running WM6, but to no avail. I'd like to not use a 3rd-party SIP client (the phone's got barely any RAM). Is there something I'm doing wrong? Does the 8525/Hermes have known problems with WM6 and the SIP functions?
EDIT: Apparently I inadvertently used the wrong access password for SIP Sorcery. Sorry for sounding so stupid.
PS: Here's my _setup.xml. I've removed the password. It was supposed to connect to the SIP Sorcery SIP provider to provide Google Voice connectivity (the phone doesn't have a SIM or cellular service, and is running solely off of Wi-fi).
