Video Chat Problem/Wifi Tethering G1 - G1 Android Development

I posted this in another one of my threads but didn't really explain it all correctly so I'll try it in this new thread.
Is there any way I can video chat with my G1 Tethered thru Wifi/Laptop? I'm using a program called ISPQ. I can send messages with my pic but I can't see some ones pic in their message when they send me a message. Also, in the directory of the program when I click on the persons name I can't see there picture they have in their profile. Something is blocked and I can't figure out a way to get around this. I can successfully run this program when I have my TMO Dash Tethered to my laptop BUT running on Edge is crippling.
Thanks again to all for accomplishing true Tethering on the G1 as I waited since day one of the G1 for this feature.

Shadow internet help...

So I had followed the step by step instructions of how to get the shadow to work with t-zones through proxy and it worked pretty well. Today I decided to go ahead and sign up for the "total internet plan". I wanted to be able to use my POP mail correctly and use MSN Live messenger too. I also have read all over the place that using the proxy with t-zones is slower.
Anyway ... the reason for me writing this is because I was wondering what the easiest way for me to make sure that I am not using the t-zones proxy for the connections. I basically have to go in and "undo" all of the changes that I made to get the proxy to work right? I'm guessing that I am answering my own question but I was just wondering if there was any other ideas or ways to get the same goal. I'd love to just do that mythical ROM update t-mobile has mentioned and start from scratch that way. I don't see that happening soon enough though.
Thanks for any and all help and here's hoping for a shadow specific section on this great site some day!

Messaging on the Touch Pro 2

Hey, sorry if someone already made a thread on this, I wasn't sure what to search for to find out, but here it is:
On the TP2, and I'm sure everyone with this phone has noticed it, while viewing txts in conversation mode, if you leave the conversation open and recieved X amount of messages from that person, when you close out, it will still say you have X number of unread messages, and you have to open and close your conversation X number of times before it shows as no unread messages.
I'm hoping HTC makes a fix for this soon because it is really annoying, but I wanted to see if any of you very capable guys here can make a simple cab fix for it.
I've noticed similar problems and I think it's a bug in the TF3D interface unfortunately.
Holy cow, that was my biggest gripe. I just stopped going into the WM messaging and I use the tf3d instead (click on the first msg from the messaging tab) and stay in there. It works right.
I almost always use the TF3d interface and I still have go occasionally go back in and enter the message again to get the indicator to go away, even after I've responded!
Agreed I hate it. I am not using the HTC interface (went with SPB) but if I get messages and chat in the SMS window it will not mark them as read. I HATE IT!
I haven't tried using the TF3d to see if it works better. I always used the default WM home screen cause I like it better. But either way, yeah hoping they will fix it lol It did it on my TP also, but only after I installed the latest update. With it being on that and on this one, I almost wonder if it wasn't a glitch and maybe it is intentional idk
I have also noticed it too. My old touch pro did the same thing. I have noticed on the touch pro two it changes between two different styles of text messaging screens, it really messes me up because the send button ends up in different spots.
when you're on the sms thread and you're talking to person just use your arrow keys to go up towards the one you haven't read. it'll show a closed envelope to the left of the message and as you press up and pass them the envelope opens up. no need to open and close.
Yes from the SMS inbox that's fine, but from the TF3D interface which is easier to get to than the SMS inbox if you're running TF3D then sometimes you need to read it again.
I was hoping they fixed this in 6.5 but NOPE of course not. WHY THE HELL ARE THERE TWO MESSAGING PROGRAMS!?!?!

Exactly my question. I just disabled TF3D and use WM default I like it better. Plus you free up some resources.

You disabled ALL TF3D or just the SMS in TF3d?
I used SBP Mobile Shell as a replacement for a bit, but i had some problems with it too....Are there any other shells out there worth looking at that might correct some messaging issues?
On a somewhat related note, has anyone else noticed that some people you get text messages will be an hour behind? Like you recieve the txt at 5:30pm and it shows as 4:30pm? My TP did this also. I don't know if there is a setting or something...
dont know if yall figured this out but the second post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=585101&highlight=mark+read has all your answers. I installed the program and works like a charm. i now have the "mark all as read" option FINALLY!!!!!!! that little orange baloon with the little number was driving me absolutley nutts.
So i have a USCellular TouchPro2 fresh out of the box....
Somehow its stuck showing 1 unread message in the SMS inbox...i have tried deleting every text from the system...installing the InboxExtender and using the mark all read option..the rogue (1) still appears....anything else i can try ??
Thanks
UPDATE --
US Cellular says its a know bug that they are working to resolve....no ETA for the patch of course.....

Try the fix unread message count. Copy to phone and run then reboot.
Hey, on this topic, how do I make it so my default sms is the windows version instead of the HTC one that?
Anyone have a cab for that or can help me for the 6.5 update VZ tp2?

+1 I wanna know this too except for the TMOUS version. I kinda hate the TF sms. Also has anyone noticed thatg when you type in a recipients name, it brings up ALL their numbers? My Tilt used to only show me mobile numbers for the recipient (which makes sense since land lines and faxes dont typically receive texts DDUUUHHH!!!) but i have on occasion sent a text to a friends home phone or fax!!
+2 I also would like to know if i can make WM my default SMS.

Text Message Retry Program

Hi,
I've recently HardSPL'd my phone and installed EnergyROM Photon. The one thing I am missing from the stock ROM is the program/app called "Text Message Retry." It used to attempt to resend my SMS's if they didn't go through, now they are just dumped into "Drafts" and it doesn't try again. This was very useful since my work environment (networking equipment lab) has spotty service in some locations. Could anyone/has anyone seen a *.cab for this? I'm thinking about seeing if I could use SK Tools to pull it from the stock, via reflashing to stock and making it from there. However, I'm not sure if I could use SK tools to make a .cab from something preinstalled.
Any advice would be appreciated...
Also if there is another program out there that would do that same thing that would work too.
I presume your carrier is Verizon? I have seen this on a Verizon TP (1). I tried to extract it and run it on a Sprint phone but no joy.
I too, would like to see an "auto retry" solution for failed SMS.
That is correct, I'm using a Verizon TP2. I actually found one late last night, it was said to have been from a Samsung Omnia but it looks the same as the one I had, minus the icon. I've not seen if it works yet, so far no missed SMS's today.
It is located:
http://forum.smartphonejunkie.com/f551/omnia-package-189721/
I might go wander around and try to test it but we've been busy today.
Interesting... If you are a member of that site, please post the file here. I'd be curious to see if it works with Sprint phones.
Thanks.
I'm home now and have the .cab file, now lets see if I can upload it. I'm not sure if its working yet.
Does this actually work if your vzw? also that for a wqvga device. the font is super tiny
i wantr this app to but for some reason it did not come with my phone either. TMobile
I discovered that in 6.5 it is included as a service. I think it should be running on everyone's phone so I kinda gave up working on it. The reason it came in the stock VZW ROM was because that was 6.1

Toshiba TG01, 3UK (three), iSkoot free Skype. Anyone one managed to get this to work?

Hi, I have been trying to get my TG01 to use the free Skype on 3UK. what I have done so far is install iskoot, changed the registry values as people say to do on forums winmo phones but I keep getting unable to connect when attempting to login to Skype. I have notices baseurl keeps changing.
I have also changed the APN to 3services, I can go onto free internet services on 3UK like ebay and planet3?
I want to get the free Skype and Windows Live Messenger to work on this, I have not tried getting Windows live messenger to work yet, been too stuck on the iskoot skype thing, it's driving me nuts.
Has anyone managed to get these free services from 3UK to work on their TG01?
Also I have found that 3UK is now selling the HTC Hero with these free services and I think you can download both Skype and Windows live messenger if you have the HTC Hero, has anyone got the installation files to share or tried installing this on another winmo phone? does anyone know what the HTC Hero user-agent is in Netfront?
Edit: just noticed the HTC Hero is on android and not Windows Mobile, but still other winmo users have managed to get their 3UK skype working through iskoot. Anyone having this same problem or know of any possible solutions? (keep getting the unable to connect message)
Any help much appreciated

3 uk has free skype service which routes calls through a 3's special GSM number instead of internet/3g/wifi. normal skype client routes calls using skype servers but this will cost you data charges but 3's skype routing is free as long as you are on skype. Now, iskoot makes special clients to route skype calls through 3's GSM number.
Yep I think coolkat is right.
So far I have managed to get free ebay, limited Google also a few bits a bobs 3UK gives for free like weather news clips without topup.
I really want to be able to use the free skype to skype text and calls even though I have never used skype before, I have created accounts with them just for this purpose.
I don't see why it is not allowing me, I have followed the step by step instructions people have posted on other threads but repeatedly getting unable to connect. Thinking of trying the 16th March Windows Mobile 6.5 update sometime soon to see if it will help.

voicemail app

Is there a voicemail application for windows mobile that will answer you phone and save the message directly to your phone? I'm in china and my service provider does not have a voicemail service, so i know it would not be hard to make an application which answeres the phone after a certain amount of time and plays a message to the person calling, then saves what they have to say.
oh i guess it would be called an answering machine, I found a topic more than 3 years old about it, but i guess it still hasn't been made yet... I'll keep looking though to make sure...
looked for this a long time ago, i think there is a hardware limitation that doesn't allow this.
I don't know if you've come across this yet or anything, but i thought i'd just post this page. Maybe it will work, i'll try it then post what happens
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357635
none of the links work in that thread, so i just searched for iSecretary and downloaded it from softpedia or something
