messaging converstations - Touch Pro, Fuze General

This is my 1st windows mobile device and I really don't like that fact messages appear in conversations, is there anyway to change this so it comes up normally and/or changes the menu layout

get advanced config or diamond config and you can change it from threaded

thanks alot!!

On the Sprint Touch Pro you just go to Settings/System/Text Messaging and you can switch from from Classic to Threaded or the opposite. No extra programs required.

iContact (Burts Edition) - SMS threading?

Hello,
I was wondering if there is any way to get iContact (Burts Edition) to show the SMS threaded? I'm not sure if I'm just missing something or if it's not possible. I really like PocketCM's SMS threading with the speech bubbles back and forth, does iContact have something like this, or is there any way to seemlessly intigrate that portion of PocketCM into iContact? Thanks,
-sosloe
iContace BE uses the standard winmo SMS application, so if you have 6.1 is shows threaded SMS's. I don't thinkg pockketCM and icontact can work together.
the luxury of iContacts is its smallness and thus speed. i dumped PocketCM as it was getting bigger and more sluggish as features were adeed.
iContact RUELS ALL!

Manila Rhodium direct link/shortcut to contacts?

i want to configure my home's right softkey so it gets me directly to my phonebook (right now it starts the camera application) and want to know if there is a shortcut to the rhodium manila phonebook? contacts.lnk in my startmenu links to the default windows mobile 6.1 contact manager.
thanks!
i'm searching this .lnk, too. Any ideas?
HKLM\\Software\HTC\Manila\
HomeRSKPath xxxx\yyyy\aaa.exe (ei: \Programs\Yota Phone\Yota Contacts\YotaContacts.exe)
HomeRSKText Contacts
You could use Advance Configuration 3.3 (Menu -> More setting -> Key Mapping)
D'rath
PS: the registry hack is to Manila v2.x
I am also wondering this. I am using verizonTP2
The only contacts I could locate was using the addrbook.exe in my registry. This contacts looks old and crappy. The contacts used under the phone (if you push the green button and then the soft key-contacts) looks much better and more finger friendly and has more options for contacts including viewing call history, txts, emails, ect...
Is there any way to change the registry so that this phone contacts comes up under my TF3d left soft key on the home page?

Finger Friendly SMS Messaging

s there a finger friendly messaging application like the silverinbox on the Omnia, or can someone write one.
This would be very useful for win mobile 6.1 but it look like 6.5 messaging will not be updated, Silverinbox is absolutely brilliant but has some bugs.
Messaging seems to be the only application on Windows mobile that has not had a third party finger friendly application written for it.
Many thanks
PocketCM
Vito-SMS
and if you have a diamond.. touch pro... blackstone.. you can install the new rhodium manila and use the built in SMS app
Neither of those meet my needs. I would love to see something in the same quality as iContact. I want to have contact pictures next to the messages and the great kinetic scrolling iContact brings.
Hopefully one of the styling gurus here will take up the project.
I am not a fan of threaded messaging I dont have massive conversations i want the option to disable threaded messaging.
you want both a finger friendly and a not-threaded messaging app?
in this forum you find the cab for silverinbox.... it works on a htc touch, but it not very smooth...
in the options you can enable and disable the threaded sms!

You can 'disable' threaded messaging in PCM. Go into your normal SMS messaging otptions, and turn off the option to save your sent messages.
PCM will only see the SMS messages that are in your inbox.

Enabling some HTC/TouchFLO features only

Hi,
I've been using my HTC Touch2 for a while now.
I decided to turn of the TouchFLO homescreen as it seems to use a lot of my free memory. I use a customized (used Home Screen Customizer - free from the marketplace) , default WM6.5 home screen now. It makes it faster ^^
The indicator raised from 45% to 70% in a day with all apps closed...
But TouchFLO also had a nice additional feature - all 'dropdown menu's ' or whatever you'd call it on a phone became way more touch friendly. (Those that open when holding your finger in file explorer for example, or when you click file in pocket word)
Is there a way to enable these menu's without enabling touchFLO?
I also prefer the HTC settings panels, that were only accessible from the TouchFLO home screen. I already found the sound settings (htcsoundsettings.exe) but I wonder if anyone knows more .exe files - for selecting backgrounds etc. Or a list of all files in the windows folder by default - it takes ages to load, when sorting is accidently set to 'File type' it takes like 15 minutes sometimes...
Also I'd like to add links to the settings menu of the start menu but so far I've only been able to add icons to the start menu or other subfolders and not the settings one
Thanks in advance,
JSO
Have you tried M2DCustomizer? If you mean saving up battery u might wana try custom roms
No, thank you for the link I'm sure it will help me.
But it didn't really help me out with my question - can I keep just the dropdown menu's without anabling TouchFLO/Manila2D from the Home Screen settings...

Hello, having read your message hope I understand well. You want a combination of features but foremost a lot of free Ram. Touch flow takes if I am correct 8-12Mb which your device should be able to handle.
This tweak will help you with Ram consumption aswell as regular soft reset or Ram cleaner.....several available on XDA.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ResProxy\ShareMemS ize=0 (Increase free memory)
I agree with member Deepak that choosing a custom Rom offers best of both worlds. But also here you have to make the choice Touch flow or not.....having only parts is not possible (unless built in Rom).
Thanks all for your effort, but I think I finally found something:
/showthread.php?t=540922 (can't post link because my account is not approved )
This allows me to disable touchFLO while still using the nice menu's; downloading right now
Yeah, used this on my previous Rom (WM 6.1) aswell. Was not happy with the result since it did not work flawless.....dissappear after soft reset, not working with some programs etc.
But see if it works for you. Success.

New sms app?

Do they have have a new sms app for my hd2...the defualt on is choppy sometimes and just looks blah...plz help
yeah, its called Windows Mobile 7
I suggest you try kimi_sae_ireba's Sense 2.5 People/Messaging Mod. You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6362736&postcount=1295
You need to find a way to successfully kill the messaging client before you can install his cab because otherwise it will not work.

do you know if this messaging client helps with the SMS loading lag (threaded with lots of messages)?
this is my BIGGEST issue with the HD2 and how it takes forever to properly reply to a SMS

The mod isn't an actual "Messaging Client". It's a mod for Sense.
If offers a number of features that the HTC Messaging Client doesn't:
1. Paged messaging system - Similar to WM threaded SMS where older SMS are moved to an "Older Messages" page. This helps increase loading speed SUBSTANTIALLY.
2. Has page navigation buttons so you can move to an older page to review messages sent and received.
3. Has built-in text size controls - You decide how large or small you want the text in the messaging window to appear.
4. Has offset speech bubbles - Adds a bit of eye candy to make messaging more enjoyable. Also has an option to turn these off if you like.
NOTES:
1. HTC Messaging Client MUST be removed or completely disabled/killed.
2. Arcsoft MMS is now required since the HTC Messaging Client used to handle MMS and is no longer available.
Try Version 2015 of Sense Messaging. Its not been released yet but you can ask in the thread for a cab. Believing rumours it should have GREATLY improved the loading of messages (instantly).

Make sure that you close HTCMessaging 100% before installing: Disable HTC Sense --> Reboot your phone --> Install the cab --> Reboot --> Activate HTC Sense
I like the look of the speech bubbles of kimi`s but I have stock rom and reading through the thread a few people are having issues, anyone know of any others with teh speech bubbles all in a simply cab file for stock 1.48
i can make the cab but i need to know where i need to copy files!
