another off topic question.... by installing Ariel Battery, does it just replace the current battery meter or did you have to switch off the origional batter meter (if so, how do u switch it off?).

There is a registry setting you can use. I'm not sure of the exact details. Try searching around.
Or, you can flash romeos where it is already enabled.

Hi,
Could you be most specific on what you used? I like the tf3d buttons. Lots of stuff out there and I have yet to run into it.
Thanks
Edit: Simply Black!

It will go over the original battery meter. Use the arrows in Ariels options to move it over there. Colors are also changable. Put the ariel battery exe in your /windows/startup on the fuze, This way it starts up automaticly each time.
Advanced config (sticky) found in the Diamond forum has the option to enable the H icon also.

thanks dude, ur a star... back to ur origional post as it seems it totally went off topic... I use the stock ROM and don't use the TF3D as it drains battery. In theory its great but my peeve is that in the TF3D, I cannot see multiple calander entries. What I mean is I use SPB Diary and I can see my appointmets up to 31 days in advance and that is more useful to me... therefore I use the standard WM screen but installed SPB Time, Diary, and Phone Suite.
thanks
Today Screen Question
2 questions on the OP
1. are you getting major slow down on the black theme? I've put 2 diferent ones on my fuze and it takes 5 or 6 seconds for the people to come up on the tab, programs and others are almost as slow. Standard ATT grey is kind of ugly, but it's super fast, everything comes up immediately in tf3d
2. (probably make myself look dumb) what are you using to show your screen and get a picture? Are you literally taking a picture and cropping, or is there a tool of some sort to do this?
Thanks

After running all the well know perfomance tweaks off the forums here I really dont notice too much slowdown over the att theme. I notice maybe a 1 second delay on the touch flo screen from the time the tab is picked and let go until it loads the content of the screen. I can live with that.
Lots of freeware screen capture programs that do the basic job ok, I just stuck Screen Capture v1.1 off some ppc freeware site to snap it. I dont really need a fancy program for that It puts a bmp or jpg in your "documents" folder on the ppc then.

1. I'm using one of the black themes and it only takes about 2-3 seconds for the people to come up. (A second or two slower than AT&T but not too bad.)

Still using ATT Theme, with tweaks
I tried using full theme from diamond threads, but they make my tf3d crawl, even with every tweak I've found. I found some threads that make it easy to change things, like add clock - icons - and then get rid of top and bottom curtains. Just used old fashioned today theme .tsk black to change top and bottom bar, and added wallpaper in tf3d settings, although right now that picture doesn't carry over to the other tabs, mun has a program to do that but it kills my clock to all zeros all the time.

I've been reading the threads for all the NRG Weather versions trying to find some info on if this works properly on the Samsung Jack. Most posts are from long before the Jack was released.
I found the AppUnlock for the Jack and took the chance to load NRG Weather 3.1. One of the panels loads properly on the Jack, but the forecast does not. Has anyone else tried this app and resolved this?

Did you do anything specific to get both panels working properly? Did your screen look like mine until you selected the HTC NRG profile from options?
It works perfectly on my Jack and I did not have to do anything special. Which version are you trying to load? I used the latest.

Version 3.1 from the post linked above. I don't think I picked the HTC theme though, I believe I had selected NRG when I set it up. Does the theme make a difference depending on your device?
The theme should not make any difference. Wish I could be of more help. When I installed it to my phone it just worked.
I'm probably going to return this phone today anyway, the battery can't even last 8 hours.
Since you have already app unlocked the phone, uninstall the SOTI program. It drains batteries insanely fast. Once you uninstall that, you will get your battery life back.
Secondly, what I had to do for the weather program, was to use CHome Configurator and do two things.
#1) Hide the two non-working panels.
For some reason two panels in CHome Configurator were showing in red as non-working. I forget what they were called.
#2) Change the registry entry CPRFile found in "HKLM/Software/Microsoft/CHome" from SlidingPanel to CHome.
This is telling it which cpr file to use. It is looking for SlidingPanel_320x240.cpr but the weather program is saving all the changes into CHome_320x240.cpr. What I actually did is I made a new file called SlidingPanelWeather_320x240.cpr and copied CHome into it. Then I changed the registry entry of CPRFile to SlidingPanelWeather and it took care of the rest.

Thanks for the tips! I've removed SOTI and will keep an eye on the battery life now. I was shocked when I couldn't make it more than 7-8 hours without charging.
I kid you not, I am literally 15 minutes from walking out the door this morning and I was starting to get the chargers and the box together to return and get an iPhone. I've been setting my wifes up over the weekend and was impressed. But if I can get this working, I'll stick with it since the guy at the store hooked me up. Price matched Best Buy for $99 and then gave me the $100 mail in rebate for it.
zeke, post up if you get it working with the directions above. I will try it on my wife's Jack tonight as well.

I forgot to load a registry editor when I was at home. I had the NRG installer on my memory card and reloaded it while listening to a boring conference call today.
Layouts used:
1) iPhone Normal Layout (default) - didn't work
2) iPhone Slim Layout
3) Slim Panels Layout
4) Standard Panel Layout
5) HTC Normal Layout
6) HTC Slim Layout
7) NRG Slim Layout - didn't work
8) 6 Day Slim Layout
9) 6 Day Normal Layout (p) - didn't work
Some have stated that the app is working fine without any crazy modifications, I'm wondering what settings they are using.
The Extended Forecast panel works perfectly fine, it's the current conditions (I think that's what it is) that is giving me the red x. How do I hide it via the NRG Options or is that a reg edit that has to be done? Also, does this app add "Settings" entry for the Battery? I never noticed it until now, while it works there is no icon for it. Could it be something so simple as downloading one of those image packs?
I realized - I am using NRG's MiniWeather 1.2. It is, I guess, the one designed specifically for non-touchscreen phones. Let me find the thread that I got it off of. I'll edit this post to add it in.

Which one of the 3 worked for you?
Edit #1: I'm trying the BlackJack version now. Same thing, 1st panel is a red x and battery shows a red x in the settings panel. 2nd panel works wonderfully though. I'll have to try the regular version for any device later, I thought the BlackJack would be a better starting since this was a Samsung Jack.
Edit #2: Downloaded PHM Registry editor and emailed it to myself. So I was able to change the registry entry from SlidingPanel to CHome and everything is showing up now. Text got mighty small, but the layout is very well done! Still get a red X for the battery icon, but that I can live with since the rest is working properly.

I don't use the battery feature on it. I have turned off the Settings panel, just cause I never use it, so I can't help you tweak that any better.
Glad its working for you. I love it. Even better than the weather app that I had originally paid for, and no longer use.

I had Fizz Traveller installed, but with no homescreen plugins for WM6.1 it was worthless to me. This little app is amazing.
If he could package it up so it works with retail devices or makes CHome reg change during install, this could be the most popular weather app in the new MS Application Store I think (when it's officially live).

Well if you want to see a screen saver you have to disable Dim backlight and Turn off screen after x minutes otherwise the screen will switch off !
As for which screensaver it uses I did notice that I had to select matrix a couple of times before it stuck.
It also seems that the daemon runs the screensaver in the background which will have an adverse affect on battery life.

I'm currently using Brain's TaskBar edition v5a. Is there a way to display the time in the taskbar or do I need a different program?
Thanks.
depending on what version of WinMo you're running, gives you different options. The COM versions that have the start at the bottom let you have both time and battery. The other versions let you have one or the other and you can switch by going to Settings>Clocks and Alarms>More>Display the clock on the title bar in all programs (though there is a cab that will let you display both in the same amount of space, though this makes it very small).

I'm Looking for a way to show info 'HOW MANY hours ARE until NEXT Alarm'?

MAybe there is a key in registry that indicates next alarm time, and we could use a script to get that value and made a simple calculation to get how many hours until next alarm, and use that info to put it in taskbar with BattClock or something similiar? ;D
