Hello,
maybe my question is simple to answer, but I've found nothing with der search-function.
IF I flash HardSPL (for a new 6.1 ROM) and in the future I want back to the original ROM and original SPL (T-Mobile SPL 1.56), who can I do this If I have no original ROM from T-Mobile Austria (because Austria do not have this on the download page).
I'm right that in the reconstructed ROM from e.g.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337066&highlight=reconstructed+kaiser+rom
ther is no SPL included? Is this right?
How can I flash the original SPL back? can I use any original ROM from WM6 which has SPL 1.56 even it's not from Austria (CID lock activated)
Regards
Anton

Any 1.56 SPL will be fine, they are all the same
As for the CID, flashing the stock SPL doesn't change the CID back, you'll have to findout what the CID is for T-Mob Austria and then set it with Olipro's ATCommander, with the [email protected]=HTC___01 command where HTC___01 is the CID.

To find CID, I can do this with mtty and task 32, correct?

The command for mtty is info 2
if will return something like this HTCSCWS__001Ùü¤HHTCE, the Red text is the CID.
Or use ATCommander to issue a [email protected]? command

Perfect, I find it, thanks.
The way back is now open ;-)

How can I tell if my phone is cid-locked, I would really like to change the ROM without the risk of bricking it. Has anyone one tried lokiwiz to cidunlock their phone? any advice would be appreciated. BTW I bought the phone from gray market in Hong Kong and is Vodafone branded, do you think it would be locked?
It came preloaded with Dopod Rom, but I don't like it that much. Also what is the best radio rom, the dopod radio rom is a bit weak.
IPL 2.15.0001
SPL 2.15.0001
Rom vs: 2.15.13.27 WWE
Radio: 02.19.21
Protocol version: 4.1.13.09
Ext ROM: 2.15.13.21

you are on G4, so yes you are still CID locked.
Normally when you flash your rom you will know imediately when it try to update.

so should I try to flash a rom and see what happens? if it goes through without an error it is cid unlocked? if an error pops up it is locked? Should I try this or should I avoid the risks? Any ROM suggestions? Qtek maybe?
Since your phone is G4 chip, i'm pretty sure you are CID locked. Dont worry about the CID locking for now, GOOD ROMS outthere been using different programs to get around CID locking problem. I suggest you can start with PDAMobiz rom from the other thread. REMEMBER USE G4 program not G3 or other programs. or look for any rom that has NoVender CID in the name.
MDA VARIO II with Dopod WM6
I recently bought Tmobile MDA Vario ii with Dopod Wm6. When it boots it shows dopod sign so I think it is dopod. The ROM is 3.54.707.3.
I want to upgrade to Wm6.1 but Tmobile has only official 3.60.xx rom presently available for download. Can I directly flash any Hermis compatible ROM on MDA Vario II.?
Since it has Dopod WM6 the CID lock must have been diabled I suppose. Am I right? and should I directly flash any HERMIS official or extended ROM? what are your suggestions Thanks
Hemant
I don't know enough about the Hermes and flashing to be certain, but I think you'll need to HardSPL (which bypasses bootloader CID checks) before flashing a ROM.
Take a look at the Hermes sub fora before doing anything though...
Hi!
I need some help / steps to update my Wizard to WM6 (or 6.1)
I tried with diferent ROMs, i followed the differrent guides, but something strange is happening.
After installing the ROM, everithing seems ok, the device restarts, but ... i still have the WM5!!!
What i missed? I have IPL/SPL 2.18, unlocked phone.
Some guidelines?
Thanks!
Peter
Not cidunlocked... as usual...
CID locked
Thanks!
I missunderstood that CID lock is different from SIM lock. No i undestand what's happening.
The problem thta i have now is using WST. I tried to unlock CID, but it says that i have to downgrade SPL to 1.06 to unlock CID (because is write protected)
So, corret me if i'm wrong, i have to
Downgrade SPL to 1.06
Unlock CID
Upgrade SPL to 2.xxx
Install WM6 ROM
It's correct?
Thanks!

YUP ! thats correct.First downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx to CID unlock, than upgrade to 2.xx for upgrading to wm6 or 6.1 ,follow this guide :-
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard Windows Mobile 6 for newbies
use button's rom to downgrade to 1.05 and make sure both IPL/SPL are 1.05 sometimes u have to do it twice to get to this state..
then unlock it both supercid and sim
then u can update to WWE 2.26 as this is the most solid base..

It also explains how to extract it from the original rom in the first few steps
If you need the tools they are in kaiser kitchen.
Read the wiki on basic cooking if you are unsure how each of these tools work.
Hi,
The problem is I dont have the original T-Mobile Vario III ROM, T-Mobile never released it. There are constructed ROM would those have the correct SPL?

Typically a cooked rom will not have a spl with it. Ill take a quick look and see if i can locate it. Do you know the number of the spl you need?
I am fairly sure there would still be a dump of the original rom around even of Tmo never released it.
Hi again.
Here are the details when I put the phone into bootloader mode
KAIS130
SPL-1.56.0000
CPLD-8
Thanks

From what ive read the the shipped vario WM 6 rom has the same spl as the original shipped HTC rom. Do a quick search for "MDA vario III spl" and you will see the results I did. The original 6.0 ship was 1.56 and the new HTC 6.1 spl is 3.28
Both spls are available on the forum already extracted.
Just remember switching spls that you must still flash hardspl to flash a new rom. You can revert to the matching stock spl after flashing.
So the original HTC WM6.0 has SPL 1.56? I can simply extracted it from that?
Thanks

Yes you need to download SPL 1.56 its in the first link i gave u
Download SSPL_kais.exe its in the first link i gave u
Put SSPL_kais.exe on device and run
when it gets to tricolor unplug and replug usb
flash spl
your back to stock
Just remember to go back to hardSPL prior to flashing anything.
Are you reverting to WM6? I ask since 1.56 is what you have on you device now.
I am currently running HTC WM6.1 but need to put the T-mob ROM back on. I was going to flash the T-Mobile Reconstructed ROM and then flash the SPL back on . Is this the correct way?
Thanks

That should do the trick. You should flash Hardspl prior to flashing the new rom, since you have a stockspl on now. Then flash the spl back on after you get the rom on.
Thank you very much for your help

Custom build rom will not flash as your phone has IPL 1.xx,it must have IPL 2.xx and it shud be CID unlocked.Wm5 will not boot up as the original Bootloaders have changed, when you flashed Buttons rom to downgrade.
Now reflash Button's Rom 1.05 again in bootloaders and use lokiwiz02b to SIM/CID unlock the phone, after SIM/CID unlocking, upgrade to IPL/SPL 2.xx by flashing T-mobile 2.26,only after that it'll upgrade to any wm6 or 6.1 rom.But if you want to flash official vodaphone rom, download the official rom and flash it in Bootloaders.
Cheers !
The T-Mobile Vario III that I have came with SPL v1.56.0000.
I have downloaded the HTC SPL v1.56.0000. Is this the same SPL as the original T-Mobile or will I need a T-Mobile specific SPL?

That will be the one you need.
If you really need the right one, there is a thread on reverting you the OEM SPL. You just extract it from a Dumped ROM.
Ta
Dave
The dumped T-Mobile UK ROM package available here does not have an SPL. Also, there is no downloadable T-Mobile ROM 'upgrade' which contains the SPL.
Would it be possible to dump the SPL from another device? If so, how?
I just tried dumping one and it also doesn't contain the SPL.
Just flash the 1.56 SPL you downloaded.
