HELP Phone Stuck at first SFR Screen - HTC Vox

I was using my phone today and put it in the pocket of my jacket. An hour or so later when i took it out it was off. When i tried to turn it back on it just stuck on the first SFR splashscreen and has never moved past it. I've tried removing the battery, removing the SD card, hard reset ,removing the Sim card, removing the battery but with the power cable. None of which worked.
No New software installed recently.
Any Ideas anyone?
Any suggestions very much appreciated

Phone wont boot up fix (maybe old)

Hi everyone im pretty new at this board, since im new to PDAs.
I have been installing/editing registry/configing like crasy on my phone and yesterday i was watching tv and was uninstalling everything i had installed.
The last application wanted me to reboot the phone to remove the last files so i did.
But then it couldnt get past the HTC boot screen.
I did everything i could to get past the bootscreen but nothing helped softreset, hardreset, booting up to bios and from there a softreset(i meen the 4 colored screen thingy), removing the battery.
Then i thought that i should treat it as a notebook and try to reset the motherboard.
I took out the battery and held the powerbutton for 60 seconds and then put the battery back and booted it up again.
Well i did a hardreset because i thought the OS might be fubar after my installs and uninstalls.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
PS.
Please mind my n00b lingo, i am swedish

Continuous reboot problem

Hi,
My Vox is in an endless reboot cycle. I boots and after the Home screen displayed for about 30 secnds, it shuts itself down, as if the power-off button had been pressed, and then goes dead. Then, after about as minute, it goes on, and reboots without me having touched it.
I've removed the SD and SIM cards, and get the same result.
Needless to say, I cannot connect to it with Activesync.
I'm running the latest WM 6.1 available on this forum.
Can anyone afooer some advice on how to fix this problem?
Thanks
have u instaled smarttoolkit rc09? if yes, then remove it.
I too had the same experience with the software. instead, install the RC08.
If u have not installed the above software, then try removing the microSD card and boot. it shud work.
Cheers,
Akshay
Looks like hard reset is the only option you are left with, But be warned that you will loose all your data (on the phone), sim card is not touched. Regarding howto hard reset, please see the wiki

just remove the battery and then remove the sd card. reinsert battery and reboot now. it should work. if u have smart toolkit 09,remove it. another program this causes this feedback loop is photocontacts pro. what software do u have running? if nothing else works, try a hard reset. sincerely hope u have synchronized ur data already. else u will lose t fully.
you can also pull the simcard, this will switch off the vox.
With me this worked: after restart the problem was gone.

[Q] Display / Timeout Problem

Hi there,
I'm having an issue with the my XT720 and hopefully someone can help, or has at least seen something similar. When the phone goes unused for a minute and the screen times out, I can not get it to come back on as expected. If I press the power button, the lights under the four buttons power on, but the screen stays off, and both the screen and buttons don't respond to being touched (ie no noise, no feedback, nothing). If I hold the power button down, it will not stop or start, and I have to do a battery pull (the phone has not been rooted). If I press the power button to lock the phone manually, it can come back to life, but not after a timeout.
This started happening when I replaced the sd card that was included with a new one. I've had occasional issues where it will decide that I don't have an sd card inserted (also fixed by a few battery pulls), so I figured time to get a new / faster sd card. The new one has worked fine in my PC to store data, but once I put it in the phone, this happens.
If I switch back to the old sd card, the screen problem goes away. I've tried formatting the sd card from the phone (as well as from my pc), and it doesn't help.
Any ideas or input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Brandon
I had a similar unpredictable problem. I'm not sure what the core of the problem is but sometimes I suspected the SD-card as you did.
Sometimes the phone didn't show up the display even after a battery pull out. The thing that always helped in MY case was to pull out the battery for 1 hour and the problem disappeared for 1-2 months...
Hope this will help.
did you in anyway modify your phone? that includes rooting etc
i had this problem before but it stopped after i cleared my davik cache and it re populated the directory after i rebooted it. worse case scenario, you might want to try reflashing it.
I've not modified it at all. No rooting, no flashing, nothing. And I'm not keen to reflash it as it's from Wind in Canada, and there is no Wind rom posted. I know others are compatible, but I suspect it would make it harder to get warranty service if it has a BrightPoint rom on it (though I guess I should check the build number and see if it's the same).
I (occasionally) have the same problem. I, on the other hand, have had this issue since I bought the phone back in August of 2010. My phone is rooted, sometimes overclocked, and running standard android 2.1update1. What happens to my phone is that it is in lock mode and I press the lock button and all that happens is the 4 buttons below the screen illuminate but the screen itself does not. To solve it, I do a battery pull and it is back to normal. I don't know specifically what causes it because apparently this problem is also happening in unrooted XT720's. BTW I have never changed my SD card from the 8GB one that came with the phone.
I hate to hear about this issue but I'm glad I'm not the only one having it. I just got my XT711 a few days ago and the screen has done the same thing a few times to me also. I know 1-2 times I just picked up my phone and it did it, another time was when my camera froze, and once even when I paused Angry Birds game until the screen shut off, that time when I pushed the lock/ power button the 4 bottom lights came on and I could here the sounds from my game but my screen was blank. Hasn't done it in a couple of days, so hopefully it just had the flu! If anyone finds out what it is, let me know also because I've seen people with all models of XT phones having it.
Try another SD Card
Thank you, yes I have a new class 10 sd card ordered, so hopefully that cures the problem

[Q] Desire S won't start after factory reset

The problem is the following: suddenly the device froze, and I waited quite alot before pulling out the battery. After that it would not start: it showed the HTC logo, over a white background, then, a black background with a sound and that was it.
I triede to reset it contless times withh no succes.
So I went into bootloader and made a factory reset, it worked but again the phone froze completely. What do I do now?
Edit - new info: now sometimes it starts after it freezes, and sometimes I have to pull out the battery, something is definetely wrong here...
Have try to flash ruu
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA Premium App
No, I haven't tried to flash any RUU, I'm on the original ROM.
No more frezes since last freeze last night an hour after i started this topic; I reinstalled some apps but not as much as before; hope I'm lucky and things stay like this....
Anyone else had problems similar to this?

Exactly the same thing happened to mine this morning - it froze during normal operation (after six weeks of perfect use) I had no response to hardware buttons or screen touches so I was forced to remove the battery in order to reboot it.
It then would boot but each time would stick at the white htc logo screen and then the screen would timeout.
I was dreading that I'd have to try a hard reset just after I'd finally set the phone up as I like it.
so I removed the sd card from the device and rebooted by removing the battery once again
the device then booted normally, so I did a controlled power off, replaced the sd card and it booted fine.
Thankfully all fine so far (two hours later) fingers crossed.
The application that I was using when the device hung was a streaming digital radio apps that was located on the sd card.

The absolutely same symptoms. DS hangs installing new app. Has carried it in service-center. Now I wait for diagnostics results
Did you try to remove the sd card?

For sure.
After the first hangup I have taken out the battery. Then DS hung again showing the HTC logo, over a white background. Then SIM has been removed. SIM were the first suspect. At the very first day of owning DS I have been forced to get new SIM card from mobile provider. Previous card was quite new, only one year old and works normally in Xperia X1i and other phones, but doesn't recognized in DS).
Finally, when I delivered phone in service-center, it was without the SIM and without SDHC cards, but all problems were the same.
Dare I ask was what was the application that you installed?

ReadItLater, but I think that it is simple coincidence. Phone wasn't started even when I managed to make factory reset (Volume Down+Power). After that phone wasn't launched any more.
Needed Hard Reset!
Removed. see duplicate post in more appropriately named thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036835&page=3
Removing both cards solved it for me today
The frequency of the reboots on mine increased and today it crashed. Hard reset brings it to the white screen + htc logo but no further.
Tried with and without SIM Card, with and without SD card. The only way it will get past the white screen is with both cards removed but then of course, you get to the screen where it tells you to take insert a SIM Card. Doing so, turns the phone off again, but then (for me at least), it was OK to carry on with setting up the phone....which I am now doing...hope this isn't going to be a regular feature.
So far I've only got the stock ROM and nothing clever on it.

Blimey, thats doesn't sound good
This is the point where I had to perform my first hard reset to re-enable the device.
How many times has this happened to you now and in what timeframe? have you had to do a hard reset before now?
I'd consider getting a new replacement SIM card and even using a different SD card, just so that you can rule them both out of causing the problem and if it happens again then return the device and be confident that its at fault!
If you return the device currently the shop's bound to say that the problem is with SIM and/or SD!
I've had it about 2 months and the involuntary reboots must have happened about 8-10 times starting in a about week 2. A sort of partial reset happened about a week ago (wallpapers and app short cuts disappeared). Then the phone crashed today while dialling into voice mail (Vodafine UK), and rebooted into a black home screen that would report a com.<whatever> error if I tried to get into the settings, or run anything. It would let me power off, but the only way to invoke the hard reset was vol key down when powering up
Today has received the answer from the service center.
They didn't name the reason, but have told that it is a guarantee case. Have suggested to replace the motherboard.
HTC DESIRE S Factory reset doesnt work

did you flash a ROM? which one? did you wipe the phones partitions before the ROM flash via recovery?

[Q] htc hd2 not booting up, not able to enter bootloader

Please help, I installed android gingerbread (2.3.7) on SD card on my HD2 and it was working fine for a couple of months. two days ago I attempted to make a call (using the touch and not the call button) and it got freezed. Battery was near by 80 % then.
I pulled the battery out... Now the charge showing RED LED is not glowing up but I think it is charging as it gets heated up at the back when I try to charge it. Also I can't turn it on, can't hard reset , can't soft reset , can't enter bootloader, and nothing else I can do. It is completely unresponsive.
I have also tried with and without the SD card.
I tried everything I could found but it cant boot.
I have spent several hours reading on xda regarding the solution for this but no luck !
What else I can do to get it bootup for once, manually on my own !!
Has the android installation on SD card caused this problem.
Is there any possibility of hardware failure.
PLEASE, PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN !!!
thanks.

seems you have (soft) brick your device. please provide with photo as other people will diagnose better as they can see what displayed on the screen and can suggest something. or have you search in youtube with respected query (eq: unbrick htc hd2, etc)
