If you want to have it handed on a platter: just wait.
If you are intelligent enough to use the search button, you will see that most questions have been asked before, and they often have been answered (several times).
It's not your RIGHT to get an answer.
Instead of waisting time with complaining: do something more pro-active: search and investigate, this way you may actually learn something.
This is what we all have to do to get answers, why should you be any different?
Most questions are answered here and most problems are solved. the fact that your problem isn't solved means NOTHING. we all give support in return for nothing. you will earn the right to judge this section of the forum once you help people yourself.
and for the record, your query was responded and you didn't answer back.
thread closed.

Hi,
I wanna thank the moderators for putting in much time to keep the forum neat and clean. We need people who are willing to give up their valuable time to bring order to this place.
But for f***s sake stop merging threads togeter. It makes the search engines close to useless! Even if you are able to find a question that has been asked before you wont find an answer unless to care to digg through threads witch hundreds of posts. I even wonder if people will reply; I don't think anyone is keeping up with these threads answering questions, knowing the people who asked the question won't read the 300 replies to other questions that were merged since they posted their question.
Yeah I know, people don't use the search button enough and some questions are asked over and over again. But by merging every redundant question into one big thread even people that do search won't find their answer anymore. And coming to a forum page that has haLF the topics moved, all pointing to that one thread doesn't encourage people to read that thread imho.
Maybe moving them all to a Questions that have been asked before sub-forum (without a visible moved tag) might be a better solution. Sometimes new information is posted to a question and that way it won't get 'lost' in a thread that nobody cares to read.
Anyways, it's just a thought. Thanks for your time
Cheers,
/Cacti
This has been discussed at length already. There are lots of people providing answers in that thread. We are not changing this right now as for the most part it has accomplished what we would like it to do. There is nothing wrong with the search function by the way, as i have managed to find whatever i'm looking for with a fair amount of ease to this point.
So, should questions and answers remain in a single thread as they are now, or are they better of in their own Q&A subforum, with a separate thread for each topic?
Yes I know this is a new thread but I think it qualifies for one
this is gonna get merged into that big thread!!!
i think it should be a sub forum because:
1) the links don't redirect you to the post, it only takes u to the thread, which is huge
2) sometimes the answer is 10 pages behind the question, completely out of order
There is already an extire Q&A subforum. There are a lot of very wonderful users helping out over there. We probably wouldn't even need a Q&A thread here if people would just post their questions in a thread that already addresses the topic, or actually search before starting a new thread. Either way, this topic has been addressed before, and we're not gonna add device specific Q & A subforums at this point.
It's not hard to see which way this poll's gonna go!
It realy should be a sub forum, but it don't need to be a device spesific subforum. As long as the question have a tag for what device it's about.
The problem with the long Q&A thread is that it's impossible to search up anything in it. You can search and find someone that have asked the question you wanted to ask, but there is no way of searching where the answer is.
I do see some benefit in one long Q&A thread, that is to ask stupid question that most other forum users know, but if it's a more difficult question that only a handfull of member can answer it needs to have a own thread.
As it was pointed out one of the most important thing to do is to make sure everyone makes good topics for their threads. If someone make a thread called "Help, it doesn't work" they should be banned for like a week.

There already is a Q & A subforum, so i'm not sure why everyone keeps asking for one. As for the Q & A Thread, I think people forget that it's not intended to be a resource like the wiki. I created it as a safe place where users can ask the same silly questions as many times as they need to. Most of the time if users had really searched then they would't be creating new threads constantly anyway, but rather they'd find the answer or post in another thread on a related topic. I think a lot of the confusion is caused by people thinking that the Q&A thread is supposed to a searchable resource. IMO if the answer isn't really eays to find in the Q&A thread you should just ask it again. I have tried to monitor the responses to make sure people aren't flaming users for now searching, as that thread is a flame free zone.

They do know how to fix it. Chances are, you didn't read the OP, or there are obvious compatibility issues. Common sense goes a long way.
Assholes like you that contribute nothing, don't look for an answer, and then ***** to someone that has put days, weeks, months worth of work into something, then give it away for free, are the ones that pollute this forum.
You hate the forum? Fine. Go away, we don't need you here. Grow up, learn to do a search & spend more than five minutes on it, then come here and post that question if you can't find the answer elsewhere.
This is a great forum, and while some members are assholes, most are very helpful. However, if you come off immature & hostile, you're going to be met with hostility.
Oh, and the real answer to your original question... they don't want people not knowing what they're doing, posting in the Dev section. You should try answering some questions in Q&A and help people out for a change.
I have to agree! I have been reading the developers section for months, and read peoples questions and actually have the answers!!!! I DO read, but still it tells me I have to post ten times before I can post in the developers section!! What a load of crap!! How can I contribute if I have my hands tied???

Come here, to the Q&A section and answer these questions. Answer the questions in the Q&A section for your device. You can post there. That's what I did, and still do. I'm just tired of people complaining about the rule, when instead they could be doing something about it instead of spamming the forums and whining.
Thread closed. I'm sorry to say but you have got the whole idea of XDA-Developers and it's ethos wrong. Maybe if you'd have searched and/or read more about this forum you would not post this flame thread.
Please don't repeat it. If you think this forum is garbage you are free to stop visiting it.
I am running CleanRom. This issue also happened when I was running Venom XL. Whenever I turn the screen off or the timer turns it off I lose both data and cell service. If it has only been a few minutes it turns back on. If it is a longer time I have to restart phone.
Any suggestions?
A suggestion? One word: search. This is probably the millionth time this has been discussed, in the ROM threads, and in the q&a section you're posting in. So clearly you haven't bothered to search/read.
Forum Rules
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting or creating a new thread. Whether you have a question or just something new to share, it's very likely that someone has already asked that question or shared that news

Use the search feature in any Sense 5 ROM thread and you'll find the answer you're looking for. And search before posting in future.

I have searched... Did you really take the time to be a jerk and not help someone out? Amazing... I will look elsewhere.
You didn't search properly then, this is the single most discussed issue in our forum by far. Do I really need to search for you to show even a fraction of the posts that discuss the solution? Like I said, it's been discussed extensively in every Sense 5 ROM thread. Plus there are numerous threads dedicated to this subject in this q&a section.
PS. Calling someone a jerk would be classed as abusive and/or flaming, both things that are also against the rules. I'm not a jerk for pointing out that you didn't search well enough to find the most talked about topic in our forum.

@Jklsr55 there's a guy who asked almost the same question in this section a couple posts down. If you searched, you wouldn't have been called out man.
At the same time, I'll tell you the solution to fixing it, which is in every single sense 5 rom thread: Update to 2.15 firmware.
Don't make a new thread or ask how to. I'm telling you what to do to fix it, so that you can search and find the steps yourself

Well, again, I did search. But I searched from the main page. In was not aware you could search different sub categories. Kick me off, do what you like. But do not tell me what or what not to do.
Nobody wants to kick you off, all we want is for users to adhere to the rules so the forum is a better place for everybody. We certainly can tell you what to do though, when telling you what to do is to abide by the rules that you agreed to when signing up for this site. Hopefully a lesson has been learned today. I apologise for the level of frustration in my post earlier, but I'll certainly be one of the first people to offer you assistance if you have problems in future. Please just read XDA rules and abide by them.

The OP needs to settle down with the immature attitude. I have asked a lot of silly questions myself and have gotten plenty of help in this forum.

timmaaa isn't "telling you" to do anything, aside from following the forum rules. Trust me, there isn't a question that you can come up with, that hasn't already been asked and answered here multiple times. Its not the intent to be rude, but the forum would quickly be flooded with the same questions being asked over and over, rendering the forum close to useless.
You also could have tried reading the Frequently Asked Questions thread (sticky at the top of this section), that timmaaa takes the time to maintain (see Question 26):

Why participate in any thread on xda when Ur a n00b like me?? surely, the normal thing non n00bs do is to just ignore? Every time I participate in any thread on xda I just get ignored because I'm a n00b. I'm sure I'm not the only one on the intranet that feels this way. Not a question just stating my thoughts about this website.

First, this forum isn't a help-desk or a support forum. This website is not here for us to help you, it is here for you to find your own answers and only ask when you cant find or dont understand the answers.
Second, most of the questions you've posted, already have solutions, if it's obvious that you haven't searched for them, most members won't answer because we don't spoonfeed people looking for answers. If you are searching and you are finding answers but don't understand the answers you find, it is still on you to do some researching about what you found in order to understand what it is that you found. Sometimes it takes days/weeks/months to figure out what things are and what they mean, even for members that are NOT noobs. Don't just spend a little time looking for answers and then come here asking questions just because you didn't understand what you found in the first few minutes of reading it. Do some google searches to understand what it is saying.
If you're looking for a place for someone to hold your hand or do the thinking and the work for you, XDA is not that place. We don't mind pointing someone in the right direction, just don't ask questions that have already been asked repeatedly, this shows that you haven't searched and seen where it was already asked, therefore, your question will be ignored. Don't ask simple questions that can be easily answered with a simple Google search, those also get ignored because it shows that you aren't willing to do your own searching.
When you are searching and you find information that you think is relevant to your needs, don't just jump the gun and try it, that is reckless and can lead to causing worse issues. You need to do deeper research about your specific device, your issue and it's potential solutions on order to understand exactly what will or won't work. Get more familiar with "what not to do" instead of "what to do" when you're attempting to modify a device.
