Error [260]: CONNECTION - Advantage X7510 General

when trying to use AthenaUNLOCKER
please help

Is your device the x7510? If so then I expect you got that message because you downloaded Olipro's unlocker, which was never meant for x7510 devices, but instead for x7500 and x7501 devices.
If your device isn't an x7510 then you've posted in the wrong place.

Disable certificate checking

Ugh. Trying to find out how I can install my root certificate onto these WM2005 devices.
Certchk doesn;t work any more and I can't change anything in the registry (apparently the reg editor would have to be signed by the operator?!)
Can anyone help? Otherwise I have the alternative of buying an expensive certificate (bloody rip-off!) or sending this nice phone back!

Hi I got an I-Mate SP5 / (HTC Tornado), and have the same problem.
Please add your thoughts to this thread if you come closer to a solution.
I have tried to change SecurityPolicy like on the 2003 device with no luck..
I have tried to change policy direct in registry + with some freeware tools.
Running out of ideas... ;/ I really don't want to pay bucks to be able to use install own software on my own phones, and use own root CA certs.. it is just annoying.. The security model should be as on ppc.. og atleast possible to manipulate manually in a configuration stage.
try attached file.
I got a package of debug tools
I can see many other files for installing certificate something in it.
I think this should be enough to install software.
Thanks fly,
Didn't try your file, but I did find out how to get it working.
I posted it in another forum... (do a google for "fergus certificate disable" amd the first one comes up with it.) Seems to work, at least for me.

On Imate.com there is now a specific program for installing the certificate for the SP5. I have sometime read, that this program is OEM specific, so I don't think that it will work on a Qtek 8310.
whatever I do - can't make it work
Trie it on mt Qtek branded Torndo. Followed all directions to the letter, used same self administered certificate working OK on my Qtek 9000 and IMate PDA2K... doesn't work, anybody has a clue ?

thx

It works
Actually Following above instructions work. I just mispelled our incredibly long domain name
Upload Imate Utility
Can someone upload the Imate Chertificate utility to the FTP site or attach it to a message here, or PM it to me. I have the new T-Mobile SDA, so I can't get the file from Imate's site and it does not appear to be on Imate's FTP server.
TIA

I Found It.
Here it is
Didn't Work on T-Mobile SDA
The i-mate utility would not run on my US T-Mobile branded Tornado (SDA). However, the instructions in the linked thread above worked perfectly. Thanks. I'm now syncing with my exchange server and my own generated certificate with ease.

Disabling certificates
Is there a way to simply disable certificates?
If not how the f#@k do I get a simple program in visual studio onto my phone.
I have added the Microsoft_Visual_Studio_Remote_Tools.cer to my app.
I have used regedit to set the propeties as above.
I have installed Microsoft_Visual_Studio_Remote_Tools.cer to my device.
When I try to compile the app I get the error saying security is stopping the install.
I am obviously do not understand what goes where.
Anyone have a idiot level step by step guide to get the thing working.
Hurry up about to hang myself

Greetings from Ukraine!
I expect to receive Cingular 2125 soon and would like to ask a question. Since our MS Exchange Server uses our own security certificate I will have to add our root certificate into Cingular 2125. I have successfully done that several times for HTC MTeoR using SP_AlowCertificateInstall.
Can somebody advise whether it may also be possible to unlock Cingular 2125 by means of SP_AlowCertificateInstall to be able to install our certificate?
If not and as posts in this topic are rather old perhaps you know some “nowaday” method to add security certificates into Cingular 2125?

noob here - question on wm6 upgrade

So I just registered on this site and have been browsing for quite some time and I had a couple questions and I apologize if I didn't search enough to get the answers....but I tried
Anyways. I have a T Mobile SDA which has just the normal WM5 os running and I saw these new roms, rom "V2.10.06 PV" to be exact. Other then installing from the ways stated in the thread, are there any other things I should know so I don't end up bricking my phone and I guess I should make sure my phone is compatible with the process of updating? Also, is there a list of the programs that come with the rom, or do you install them all as separate plugins? Thanks.
Well if you have an SDA, this is the forum for a PocketPC phone called the HTC Universal, not a smartphone, so yes, you will brick your phone.
You might want to look in the smartphone section http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=246 but I don't know if there are any WM6 builds for the SDA

downgrade wm6 --> wm5

I am experiencing problems after installing wm6 on my treo 750v
- i go 2006 got shrinked screen
- agenda one is jamming the system
- phone changed from unlocked to locked for vodaphone only
My question is how to solve all this. As updates from different suppliers are not yet adapted for wm6, I suggest that downgrading to wm5 is the best alternative. It is just ...... how to fix this ? I checked this forum, without success.
As I expect other will be having the same problem, the best thing is probably to start new post and ask the more brighter people on this forum to help.
So: please help, how to downgrade treo 750v wm6 to wm 5 ?
Thanks a lot on before hand !
Here is a solution.
done
thanks, with this reply and some other tips on the forum I managed to get wm6 working perfectly.
I can not reproduce the trick exactly but here's some points.
1. I used the extrom unlockers procedure on the forum, see wikipedia treo 750v on this forum
2. used this file T750URT.exe, see link: http://www.palm.com/nz/support/downloads/treo/750vupdate_recovery.html
Afterwards phone worked again, agenda one worked.
However, the screen size problem with igo unfortunately remains, so I had to install tomtom, which did not have the problem
Sorry for the iGo problem but glad that your device work again.

Wait a tick.....a firmware upgrade shouldn't lock your phone if it's already been unlocked.
up up up up up
Please help, does anyone have a link to the update recovery tool?
thanks

WPA2 on Ipaq RX1950

Hi all,
Someone told me about this forum/site today, really a huge pile of knowlegde and resources!
A few months ago, someone offered me a HP Ipaq RX1950 (for free. Take it or put it in the trash...).
It had WM5 on it.
After some searching and the tip I got about this site today, I was able to get WM6.1 running, which I retrieved from this site.
My wireless network at home has WPA2 (TKIP+AES) security enabled (because it's the only safe thing for WiFi), but there's no WPA2 option in the dropdown box in my WM6.1 installation.
Any way to get WPA2 working?
Welcome to forums
I am not sure your device is build by HTC, as here we dedicate only to them.
Have a look here to find out if your device is made by HTC:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
Good luck,
I did not know you were only dedicated to HTC...
The WM6.1 version I was referring is located here btw.
Anyway: I think this is a general software thing, not a hardware related issue. So if any one is able to help, I would be grateful.

wrong nk.exe what happens with device

Hi,
first of all i want to tell you that i am sorry for this kind of noob question.
What happens when a device is flashed with a rom with wrong nk.exe?
The backround is that i am using a E-TEN Glofiish M800 and i am very disappoted with the lack of ram the device has.
So now i tried to figure out what happens when i cook a rom with WM6.5 native kernel from HTC Hermes. The Hermes has quite similar hardware copmpared to the Glofiish M800. Should this work or do i run into problems where the deivce is unsuable anymore???
Thanks
StefanV3
you would surely brick the device
not worth trying
Hi,
the M800 is capable to recover the flash via Bootloader. Will the bootloader not be accessible anymore???
Thanks
StefanV3
My guess is that you'll be able to re-flash, but I doubt the device will boot. Give it a shot.
Or, figure out ways to improve your RAM consumption. That's probably the easiest thing to do. In your boot.rgu, set the file system caches to 0 (dynamic). Lower your page pool. Use the stock microsoft dialer, and use the old-style lockscreen if you're on 6.5 (don't use the slide to unlock, it's a major ram-hog).
Hi,
might it be that there are some hardware keys declared in nk.exe???
I viewed both nk.exe s000 files and in the file from M800 i found entry's for reset button and power button.
At this time i really don't know if i will try it because when these entry's are key assignments i am afraid that with a rom with this hermes wm6.5 native kernel i am not be able to reach the bootloader anymore for firmware recovery.
StefanV3
Good point on the buttons, but, I still want you to do this. Just take one for the team, lol.
I do know that you can use the 6.5 nk for the cdma raphael in cdma diamonds (they never got a 6.5 nk). It supposedly works well, but they're both htc devices. Does htc make the glofish?
Hi
No, this Glofiish devices are from E-Ten Corporation. But it seems that there won't be devices available anymore labeled as Glofiish because E-Ten manufactures the devices known as ACER Liquid/Neo or Acer beTouch.
So currently i would not give it a shot becaue this Glofiish M800 was a birthday gift from my wife and good friends nearly a year ago and they payed € 250,- together for it.
Thanks
StefanV3
If you can enter the bootloader from the device being off (as in, not in WM) then you should be able to recover it. NK.exe only kicks in as WM boots, so it won't affect anything that happens before the OS.
Hi,
yes, i am able to enter the bootloader mode when the device was switched off. So, maybe i'll give it a shot...
I remember that there was a user at eten-users.eu who flashed an E-Ten Glofiish M810 with a rom for M800 (the M800 and the M810 are different devices) and this user was able to reflash a stock M810 rom, so i think i wouldn't kill the device with Hermes nk.exe ...
But before i'll try this, is there anyone that has encountered some more benefits of the native kernel on hermes??? Will there be any benefits in saving free ram??? Or is the only benefit that i didn't have to recmod some modules to get slot 0 free???
StefanV3
Hi,
for all who want to know the actual state of this "project":
First try, only nk.exe is replaced by Hermes 6.5 native kernel nk.exe in OEMXIPKernel. But it has failed. The device diesn't boot.
But after this i succesfully reflashed the device via bootloader flash (USBDL) with a WM6.5 rom with oldkernel.
So now i'll try to replace all files in OEMXIPKernel with the available ones for hermes 6.5 native kernel.
*Update*
Tried to use all files from Hermes 6.5 native kernel but it doesn't work, so i think the project has completely failed...
Thanks to all
StefanV3
