Sync-ing contacts (LG KS20) to Outlook (PC) - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
having a problem sync-ing contacts from my LS KS20 to MS Outlook 2007 with MS ActiveSync 4.5.
When I tried to sync the contacts to my pc using activesync, I get the message "Cannot synchronize with the Outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or the profile is password protected. Please open Outlook using the appropriate profile."
Any solutions?

edit: problem solved. solved it by deleting the mobile device 'partnership' on both the pc & mobile's activesync. then, i re-sync it.

Hi there, i have the same error message. How did you delete the "partnership"? where did you find it in your mobile and computer? Thanks

Support Code:85010014

I have a WM5 Device trying to sync with outlook and am getting this Support Code:85010014 when I select the view status link in Activesync (v4).
AS4 allows me to sync favorites and notes, but not contacts, calendar, email, and tasks. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
I solved my ActiveSync problem with Error 85010014.
I also run Eudora and Incredimail Plugin for Outlook on both PCs, Work and Home. Both are on XP Pro SP2 and when I installed ActiveSync 4.1 on my work PC without issue, I decided to attack my Home PC Outlook installation to see if I could resolve the issue.
So, At home:
Putting Outlook in Offline mode did not solve the problem.
I uninstalled ActiveSync 4.0 and installed ActiveSync 4.1 - No difference.
I backed up Outlook via 3rd party program to grab account settings as well as my 2GB pst file then ran Help->Detect and Repair... - reboot, no difference.
I then ran Control Panel -> Add or remove Programs -> Office 2003 and chose to modify my installation by adding or removing components. I unchecked Outlook and updated it to remove Outlook from my Office 2003 suite. Then returned to this option and re-checked Outlook to add it back to my Office 2003 Suite, CD-Rom in hand but updating, it did not ask for the Office 2003 Install CD-Rom... - Rebooted and connected - Bingo NO 85010014 error!
Before you re-install..
Are you using Outlook 2003 in "Offline" mode? If so, try running Activesync while CONNECTED to your Exchange server... This worked for myself and possibly a few others here.
Good luck! Hopefully you won't have to re-install Outlook which seems to be the ultimate fix.
Just checked the original post date... hope the original poster fixed the issue.

No, I don't use exchange. I realy hate outlook compared to Eudora for my needs. Mail accounts are on standard Unix POP/SMTP Servers. Outlook is forced due to contacts integration on PDAs.
Windows Mobile 5 Support Code: 85010014
I solved the same problem in a different way - On ActiveSync in the File menu there is an option to Delete Mobile Device. I picked that, deleted the device and then re-established the partnership between the mobile device and the PC. Sync started working perfectly right away.

Sync with Vista Contacts, Calendar, Mail?

As being a Vista user, I was wondering if there exist a way to synchronize my Prophet with the integrated Windows Contacts and Windows Calendar app's instead of Office Outlook?
Mobile device center picked this up on my wifes computer because office outlook was never installed. Try uninstalling outlook, unpair your device (delete profile) from MDC and then try it again.
It won't sync... My Polaris was paired prior to installing Outlook, and it didn't work at all....
I did try to uninstall Outlook (wich was no problem) and unpaired my device.
When I tried to setup the relationship again, WMDC grayed out the options to sync Contacts, Agenda etc. because "Outlook is not installed".
Pitty......
To my knowledge, Windows Mobile will only sync locally with Outlook.
My girlfriend's Vista laptop does not have Outlook installed and I am unable to sync calendar/contacts etc using that PC.
My Vista laptop has Outlook installed and it sync's perfectly fine.
I posted this same question on the Microsoft boards and the moderator stated what we expected: syncing is only possible with Outlook.
So, that's it then, back to Outlook! (I like clean systems......)

ActiveSync error syncing notes

I have just changed my Outlook profile (in order to overcome a problem where I couldn't get ActiveSync to sync contacts) but am now having a problem syncing notes. I get the following error message:
"Microsoft Outlook
Synchronization cannot be started because you are not able to log on to the netowork and access information."
After clicking "Ok" everything else syncs fine (contacts, tasks, e-mail and calendar and a third party Outlook Journal sync). When the sync finishes there is an entry in the sync list next to notes saying "Attention required".
I am syncing with ActiveSync 4.5 on Windows XP SP3 and Outlook 2002 on a local computer not an exchange server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated for this annoying problem.
I have the same OS's and versions and same problem. Only, it sometimes gives the error, sometimes doesn't
SOLVED
After much trial and error and some pretty fruitless searching on the internet I seem to have hit on a solution:
Delete the original ActiveSync relationship (File/Delete Mobile Device)
Create a new Outlook Profile (Start/Control Panel/Mail)
Start Outlook...which creates a new .pst file
Copy the data from your old .pst file accross (this the tedious bit especially since you need to re-create custom views and e-mail accounts)
Re-sync which will create a new relationship with the new Outlook profile
Hope that helps anyone else with the problem.
Also, when you have started outlook (visible mode) there is no worries

Sync Problem

Hi all,
I have tried to search the problem on google and xda forum but i cannot find any solution.
The problem I faced is that there is a sync problem between my laptop and my phone. I am using Windows Mobile Centre as I am using WIn7.
When I create a new appointment in outlook, it can be syndicated to my phone flawlessly. However, when I create a new appointment on my phone, it cannot be syndicated to my outlook calendar. The error message is that "the following appointments failed to synchronize from device". I have tried to reinstall outlook and the WM centre, but the problem still exists.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Also i found out that there are some contacts I cannot sync (from phone to pc).

[Q] Problem Synchronisation WP7 <-> Outlook via Hotmail Connector

Hey guys,
as the topics says I have a problem to synchronize my HTC Mozart (WindowsPhone) with MS Outlook 2003. I use Windows Vista 32bit.
I downloaded the hotmail-connector from microsoft, installed it and set it up. But as soon as I click on the new installed live-folder in my Outlook I get an error message which says: "Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the specified folder location."

Do you have any idea, what could cause this problem?
Thanks and greetings from Germany
This thread might present the solution for my problem.
It seems that you must default you hotmail account in outlook, then close and reopen outlook, inorder to use outlook connector.

I'll report later if it worked.
Of course I would be pleased about a better solution then setting the hotmail account to default.
To let you know: It worked.
