Hi,
The sound in the headset that comes with the Trinity is quite bad and I really want to get a better one. Does anyone know if there is anyone making good headsets (prefferrably in-ear earbuds) or alternatively a plug converter such that I can use my normal headset with the usb plug on the trinity.
This should be the nice solution for you : http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=142091&asource=HTC _P3600
(i'm getting one too, cause the BT stereo isn't that great at all...)
HTC Stereo Converter
Check this one:
11pins to 3.5mm Stereo Head Jack Converter for HTC devices.
http://shop.brando.com.hk/htcstereoconverter.php
Or you could check this site out. I ordered mine already and it's on the way.
http://www.doml.com/productdec.asp?pid=2698&model=d_d810&modeln=P3600
I ordered from brando a couple of days ago. Wanted a silicone cover too, but he did not have those yet.
sweet thanks for the links!
the mini usb to 3.5mm converter just have a problem doesn't support microphone function...
need to remove every time you receive a call...
Any other solution... like a normal headset with microphone and a mini usb?
the oem headset's sound quality is really bad, but i recognized that you can turn music much louder than older devices like my old wallaby
on expansys search for ORA usb to jack converter. there's a version that has a microphone.

This will solve the problem for me!

Wouwwwww!!!!!
What incredible sound, what incredible bass!
Expensive, but it's worth it.
does anybody tried this

with FM,RDS and 3.5mm
I personally picked this up

I don't know if it's going to work or not, I'll post and let everybody know when I recieve it. The reason I opted for a 2.5mm headset is because I have like 3 of them lying around because my old phone used a 2.5mm and I didn't want them to go to waste.. if it doesn't work or if the sound quailty sucks I'll give a motorola mini usb headset a try.

I can tell ya ahead of time that this will not work. The moto pinouts are different from the HTC proprietary pinouts. You need to get one made for HTC phones.

Hmm in that case, do you know of any headsets for the Trinity that is a single earpiece headset and not the double it comes with?

why not just cut off the unwanted earpiece....
anyone managed to open the mic box on the stock headset? does it just have snap locks or is glued? I would break it open, but the operative word would probably be Break. I was considering just changing the ear phones over to some expensive ones to improve sound quality without losing the mic and usb connection.
Speedn
edit: no glue, just snap locks. Push in on the walls of the mic box on the large bit, (the bit with the button in it). slide ya fingernail into the gap an prise the top small piece off. Caution the small top piece has small pins in it so pull it straight up and not to the side.
remove old earpieces and solder new ones on, its even got L- L+ R- R+ labelled for ya.
I havent actually progressed to the attaching of new phones yet, will pick some up over the weekend mebbe.
Enjoy
Hi everyone,
Is there an in-ear earbud replacement for the wired stereo headset that come as a standard accessory with the Diamond?
I do not have small ears by any means, but the standard headset has always been uncomfortable and I much prefer the in-ear variety.
Thanks!
bump ?
hi ive seen some for sale on ebay different to the standard Diamond jobbies ive got to say after moving from sony ericsson plug in headset the htc is very poor
i hate the button that doesnt actually disconnect the call just place it on hold
scan the bay there are headsets available
good luck
RR
Another thing would be to get an audio extension cable for Diamond and use any of 2.5 or 3.5mm headsets...that Sennheiser MM50 for iPhone is good for sure and it should work with that setup.
... thousands of people buy iPhones.

comes with 3.5mm
and for the rest one can get a extUSb -> 3.5mm minijack converter for 5€
Sorry if I wrong to understand the point but HTC HD has 3.5 jack and it works with normal headset

The iPhone only works with a 3.5mm headset IF you buy a $10 adapter to go with it. The jack is inset in the phone and cannot be reached by a normal 3.5mm plug. So you are forced to buy Apple's or an " iPhone approved " headset. Or the $10 adapter. Just like you can but a mini usb adapter to use 3.5mm with HTC
First of all, it is ridiculous that HTC doesn't put 3.5mm jacks on ALL new devices.
Second of all... choosing an iPhone isn't the opposite of choosing HTC.
Thirdly, if a 3.5mm jack is your only problem.. you must be way off... because that's the least of the problems..
Strong processors, Flash in the Diamond2 and HD.... these are problems.

My Universal also come with it, no problem!
My Axim, which was manufactured by HTC also came with a 3.5mm jack. That's not the issue guys. Sony Ericsson's X1, also manufactured by HTC came with 3.5mm jack. See a trend? We need to put pressure on HTC - why defend HTC's decision to not use 3.5mm jacks at all? They only do it so they can sell their stupid extUSB connectors, which are liable to break, fall apart and add bulk.
The next person to say "Bluetooth A2DP" gets the pleasure of buying me an extended battery by Seidio.
Also, why did the Touch HD come with 3.5mm jack and then they removed it on the TD2 and TP2?
I have a 3.5mm jack on my Xperia and I've used it 0 times.

I meant the 3.5mm jack. I use the Xperia quite a lot, and will continue to until the Touch Pro 2 hits AT&T. ^_^
don't think you can have too many takers for solvering out their 3.5mm minijack which can be bougth pretty cheap at rs-catalog and send them to you....

That's the PAST bub. Apple actually listened to it's customers and removed the retarded design in the 2G, which is more than I can say for HTC, which won't even introduce it's flagship device (the only one with 3.5mm jack) in the biggest economy in the world.
I buy a Touch HD, pay $700 for the privilege of bug testing it, then find it won't even work on 3G in the US on the only carrier HTC does support unlocked 3G on! Wonderful!
Here's why. Money . . . . it's that simple.
Ive had a Touch cruise for a year and now I only get sound from the right channel. I use one converter with my earbuds and another for my car stereo so its not the converter. It would be nice if they could start stick 3.5 jacks in all their phones
What do you guys use a 3.5mm jack for? Surely not music, because the available applications are a bit lacking in the interface department. :/

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you implying that HTC including a jack on all models will influence the development of better players? It's a little far fetched if that's what you mean. :O
what about HTC actually using quality parts and manufacturing rather than bits that fall to bits - even when treated with cotten gloves? Thats my vote!
(yes, four HTC phones, all have had to go back at least once for harware warranty repairs)
Hello guys,
apparently something happened to my earphones. I'm guessing my roomies messed with it and busted it. I can see that there's a hole in the right earphone now.
I'm in search of an earphone which is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S. Sure I can get loads of better ones off play/Amazon. but I wanted to get the one which is compatible with my phone.
can anyone suggest me some in-ear earphones with volume adjuster or perhaps link me to original one?
thanks.
Look here
There are few other threads discussing about headphone compatibility, do a search.
As I have said in the first thread, I'm using a Nokia AD-54 with my own pair of headphones. IMO thats the best way to get highest quality. Because you can connect any high quality 3.5mm headphone.
P.S: For me Samsung's bundled pair sounds pretty bad, any $30 aftermarket head/earphone will sound way better.
I did a search already, but I found few more questions instead of answers,
the thing that nothers me is the polarity (mic/spk/gnd/gnd) thing, I wonder how many headphones/earphones support that..
I dont want to invest into something that doesnt work with my phone..
do the following two work?
http://www.sennheiser.co.uk/uk/home...onal_headphones-headsets_dj-headphones_502103
http://www.jbl.com/EN-GB/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?PID=REF250BG&accT=1&tsT=0&ovT=1
I've found something for you (I expected it, to be true):
-Every normal Headphone does Work (without Heaset functionality, understandable)
-iPhone-compatible Headsets do not work on the Galaxy
Oh and in a Review about the Galaxy someone used several Headphones, all of them are working. For Example there were Sennheiser CX300.
thanks, i'll go on earphone hunting now, and will let you know how it goes.
cheers!
also these seem to be cheaper: http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=34645994#

Link to Sennheiser site is broken. I'm not sure about the other one either. Some say Sennheiser MM50 works, but I havent tried.
As for using a regular 3.5mm ear/headphone for music, everything works. I am using several different standard 3.5mm earphones and headphones, but remember, when you receive a call you have to disconnect the headphone to talk, built in mic disables as soon as you plug in the headphone. Its annoying, thats why I use the Nokia AD-54 adapter and a Bluetooth clip when walking outside.
urbanears
If you do a Google search for Urbanears, they do a range of headphones that will work as hands free with the SGS. I have some of the over the head ones and there pritty good. They come with a variaty of headphone jack addapters for diferent phones and have an inline mic.

Apologise for resurrecting this thread, but I want to confirm that the Nokia Adaptor provided with the Urbanears range of headsets do indeed work with the Samsung Galaxy S.
I ordered a pair of Medis, but when the headset first arrived the Nokia adaptor was faulty, I emailed them that the adaptor wasn't working, and they responded asking for my address so they could send out a free replacement (they did not ask for any kind of proof of purchase). When the new adaptor arrived, it worked like a charm, media button and mic became functional.
Yep, the urbanears nokia adaptor works perfectly

To operate the headphones you should turn off the microphone of the iPhone, because in the Galaxy S the pins are reversed.
A test when you insert the earphones, hold the microphone, you will hear the difference.!

Hey is it possible to get the adapter separately? I'm using the KVconnections one with my NuForce Ne-7m and the plug doesn't fit my cases (had to enlarge the holes in a couple already - don't want to have to do it with the rest).

That's not a hole dear. There is one upper layer of some kind of fabric thats been removed or got removed. Go to any samsung service senter they will replace it free of cost if in warranty your phone within three days.
Same happened with me but my left earphone of headphone wasn't working and this time they replaced it with the better one.. M njoying.

Urbanears don't appear to sell the nokia adaptor seperately, but you could always try emailing them.
I bought my Urbanears (black set of Medis) from a third-party site, but when I contacted Urbanears directly specifying that the adaptor that came with my Urbanears did not function, they simply asked for my address and sent a replacement adaptor out to me, they didn't verify that I actually owned a pair of their headphones. Theoretically, you could send them an email pretending to be someone with the same problem, though it would of course be harmful to their business if abused.
Just a quick question: i noticed, that if i am using the stock headset with an old ipod touch, i always have to press the button to get all the sound. Is there any way to avoid this?

Surely there are adaptors availably which are sold separately? I use a Sennheiser BT headset at the moment (MM200) but would like a pair of wired, good in-ear earphones so I have one less battery to worry about plus the sound quality is better. But the one thing I love about BT is the remote control buttons and there are very few options available for Samsung compatible wired earphones.
Can anyone recommend a good adaptor?
I bought myself a pair of samsung gtI9000 earphones from ebay for £4 :/.
works like a charm!

I've also found another set of adapters that might work: http://www.amazon.com/Native-Union-Adaptor-Blackberry-Phones/dp/B003NVM9HK, but given that the Medis is available for $USD50 I might just grab that and have a spare set of headphones.

Yes - use a rubber band to keep the button pressed
I use this adapter to make my NuForce NE-7Ms work with the SGS: http://www.kvconnection.com/product-p/km-354r3m-r2f.htm. In theory you should use this one since you're doing the reverse: http://www.kvconnection.com/product-p/km-354r2m-r3f.htm, but they should be the same. As I said earlier, it works well but is bulky and doesn't fit my cases without modding
I can confirm two headsets working (tested) with I9000. The first one is Sennheiser MM-50 Nokia (the Nokia part is important, as they do also them for IPhone), second are the Stock Nokia's E52 ones.
After ripping my original headset I'had bought the Sennheiser's headset and must say I am quite pleased with them.
Cheers
So there is no headset with Nokia ad-54 functionality...
I mean there is no way to plug in my earphones and control calls/music... Exept of soldering iron... it's sad.
Hi guys, need some protection for my Xperia Z, preferably in a bumper case, but I haven't come across any that would support my headphone jack (Audio Technica ATH-M50), which are like studio headphones.
Any recommendations?

I don't think there are any. Also because the jack of the ATH-M50 is so big.
When ever I use my ATH-M50 I just use it with my Bluetooth adapter, because I'm to afraid that it might break the audio port inside the phone.

Yeah, I think I'll just buy whatever case I want and then buy a 3.5 adapter such as this so that I can continue using my sweet headphones.

Yeah, but the problem is that the weight of the ATH's audio jack remains. No matter what you do. So I choose not or barely to attach my ATH directly to the phone.
The ATH already had a 3.5 adapter btw, so there is no need to get another one. It comes with a 3.5 adapter, but they also include a 5.25? converter.
