There has been constant 3g disconnectivity issue with my phone. What usually happens is like when I am using 3g, it will suddenly disconnect, every 15 minutes or so, and then I will need to wait 10-15 seconds, then I will get connected back.
I have always attributed this to the carrier at my country, Malaysia, coz I have tried another carrier's sim card before and it was very stable.
Until today when I put my NS side by side with my colleague's iPhone4, and his 3g connection is very stable, while mine dropped twice in the period of 5 minutes!
Is there any explanation to this?
Which ROM and kernel are you using?
Greetz
Stock kernel stock ROM from 2.3.4, XXKD1 radio.
today I realized that in opensignalsmaps, my phone seems to alternate between locking on the two further towers when there is one tower just right beside me!

After discussion with one of my friends working as network engineer, also owning a NS, he told me that the problem might be because NS is actually slow in reconnecting back when the connection is lost. There's a possibility that the iPhone or HTC Legend reconnects back fast enough that its not noticeable.
This issue also might not surface if the carrier doesn't terminate me that often.
My friend told me also he have seen really slow connection no matter 3g or wifi. You guys experienced anything like this and any roms/radio/kernel that improves this?
Hi all,
I have a G900P on t-mobile. Call works, SMS works, but no data connection. Hoping someone here sees something I'm missing.
APN settings are verified and correct (had someone else double-check them) and data works with this SIM on another device.
It seems to be a deeper error than usual - RIL logs show a "generic error", and Phone info/testing doesn't even show any connection attempts. Relevant RIL logs below:

Thoughts/ideas/more info you need from me? I can't find any info on DataCallResponse with a status of 14.
Yes, I realize this is probably on me as I poked around in the IOThiddenmenu, but I *did* make notes of things I changed and set everything back the way it was when I was done.
Data was working fine when still on Sprint CDMA/LTE.
I have the same problem but with AT&T, I have not tried with T-Mobile, and I have not messed around with hidden menu.

Interesting. Do you have root and if so, can you do a logcat -b radio to see if you get the same error? (If you need more info on how to do that let me know and I'll give a step by step)
please provide me with steps on ho to do logcat.

Here's a full tutorial: https://university.utest.com/androi...-how-to-capture-logcat-files-using-adb/#using
Only change is in your case you only want the radio logs, so change the command from "adb logcat –d > blah blah" to "adb logcat -b radio –d > blah blah"
hopefully this information will help thanks for being patient.
Not quite - you typed "logcat -d", I'm looking for the output of "logcat -b radio"

Hmmm... I don't see the same error in yours, but your phone also doesn't seem to attempt to initialize the data connection (I don't see any "SETUP DATA CALL" in the log).
If your APN is set properly then I think you have a different underlying cause.
Update: My phone was in for service, when I got it back the form said they replaced several components and now data works as expected. Very strong evidence that it is a hardware issue.
