activesync include all drivers needed apart from usb drivers for your motherboard
those you need to find at the manufactor of the motherboard or the chipset of your motherboard

Activesync on Windows 2003 server?

Hi there, my smartphone Tornado (SP5m) won't be detected properly on my Windows 2003 server (w/o SP1), USB drivers seems to be the problem... can someone send me their drivers (via link, PM, etc) so I can test using those drivers instead. I definitely want to sync my Outlook contacts to my smartphone...
Any help would be appreciated, thank you all for your time!

I use Windows 2003 server and I never had any problems with ActiveSync v4.5. If you connect your phone after installing ActiveSync, it will be detected as an RNDIS device.
Do you have the latest ActiveSync update?
It works fine on XP SP2 and Vista but not with my Windows 2003 server ?!
It sure detects it as an RDNIS device and then it tries to install the drivers, then I need to click on "Continue Anyway" (because those drivers have not passed the Windows logo testing to verify it's compatibility with this version of Windows) and then an error comes up saying "Cannot install this hardware" (see attached picture)
Does yours have SP1 installed?
Thank you for your time,
highmighty
Yes, I have SP1 and all latest updates installed. I'm sorry but I never had had this problem and I don't know how to assist you. You can try removing the drivers and reinstalling ActiveSync 4.5.
I had a similar problem once on XP SP2, not sure if it will assist you, but in my case my mini-USB cable became some what defective, in a way that it did not let the PC identify the mobile even though it DID see when i connected it!

HOw to connect i-mate jasjar through usb with pc

HI All
I m trying to connnect my i-mate jasjar with pc through usb cable but when i install the driver the message appears that the wizard cannot find the required software which software i need to install for connecting i-mate-jasjar with pc
We're going to need more info to help you better. Specifically:
1. What version of windows are you using on your desktop computer?
2. Do you have Microsoft Activesync installed on your computer? Download it from here and then give it another shot.
3. Is this the first time you're trying to connect your phone to the computer or have you done this before and has it suddenly stopped working?
Sounds like you haven't installed ActiveSync yet.
If you have vista download this: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx
good luck,

Access mem card through USB connect

This must have been covered before but search does not seem to be working for me here.
I want to access the mem card in my Fuze (stock ROM) on my work PC but it needs to load a driver for the new USB device it detects. I do NOT want to install ActiveSync on the machine, only the driver that will allow the USB connection to work in Disk Drive mode.
Anyone know what file and where I could find it would allow this connection to work?
Installing applications is prohibited by company policy and installing ActiveSync would be detected. Installing a USB driver would not be.
Anyone?

What OS are you using? Windows 2000 and definitely XP and Vista are plug and play. I'm using XP and the driver is here:
c:\Windows\system32\drivers\USBSTOR.SYS
If that driver isn't on your system, have you tried using the "Found New Hardware" wizard to connect to microsoft to automatically download the driver for you?

XP. The driver is not found by the wizard. I have had this on other systems before.
It is installed during the ActiveSync install. If you uninstall ActiveSync the driver is left behind and will still function but corporate policy has gotten strict on unapproved installs and traces are always left behind even after uninstall.
I will look on my home device for the file and see if I can move it to my work PC and get it working.
Thanks.

HTC ChaCha USB

Hi there.
My office PC has restrictions on installing USB Drivers. Is there any possible way to connect the phone to PC to read and write files. Earlier i had Nokia N8 which i could connect to PC using PC Suite mode and read/write to my memory card without any additional drivers (probably windows has those drives preloaded). Also Samsung galaxy S2 can be connected to my PC using Kies Sync to read write to memory card (without any additional drivers being installed). Is this possible with HTC Devices (not specifically chacha as none of the HTC device get recognized)
have you tried htc sync?

Yes HTC Sync detects and I am not suppose to install any personal softwares. I dont know how to explain my problem, those who have a S2 or any nokia device will understand better I ll click some images and share to make it more clear..
Both Kies and Ovi Suite install phone drivers. It's impossible to connect a phone without installing drivers, even if as mass-storage device.
Both Kies and Ovi install the drivers when you install the software and connect your phone for the first time. So if your the first one to have ever used N8 or Samsung on your PC then you have installed the drivers

Yes agreed alex. Drivers must be installed for being detected. But have you seen that the drivers for nokia and samsung are never downloaded from windows update or anywhere. The drivers are fetched from the device itself i guess (which shows "searching preconfigured folders" while installing). But incase of HTC devics, it fails..
there is a wireless app on play that allows you to transfer meda files back and forth, but again you ll need to install a wifi dongle via usb unless you are using a laptop
Just use Box. http://www.box.com/
