AT&T not getting diamond, what about LG Insight? - General Topics

I currently have an 8525 and am due to upgrade in a couple months. I admit I am very dissapointed that att isn't picking up the diamond. I like it. Moreover, I like how the site is full of cleaned up roms!! I never really liked my phone until I flashed my first rom and it sped up incredibly.
So, my question is this. I was looking at the LG insight and I kinda liked it. Does anyone know if there is a site for that phone that has roms?

I got over them not getting the diamond. I held hope for the Omnia. Now im just pissed. I think the Incite was a bad choice and I can only conclude they must have gotten it cheap compared to the omnia or diamond. I heard the GPS may not be working well too, I would have to confirm that.
The diamond or omnia are just so much better yet ATT goes with the incite? sigh.
I would google some reviews before you make a decesion.
I ended up with a treo pro in the end anyway. Its a compromise, keyboard but small screen.

AT&T got the raphael, bold, and the iphone. i'd say that's about as good a lineup you could ask for. just ask my fellow friends at tmobile and we'll say you're a bunch lucky ducks

I have an Incite. My observations:
1) screen is beautiful for a device that's not VGA - much sharper than the Tilt, and the Incite Today Screen plugin looks quite nice.
2) The jogwheel on the side is a nice feature.
3) I don't like the vibrate-touch feature, but it can be turned off.
4) Pandora is awesome, but AT&T wants to stick you for $8.95/mo on the Incite, where it is free on iPhone. Unfortunately, the Pandora.exe file won't display properly on either a Tilt or a Fuze, which brings up:
5) Many programs of standard dimensions (240x320), especially games, won't display properly. For instance, Battery Status options can't all be accessed.
6) GPS will not communicate with the iGuidance GPS software I use, although GPSTest works.
7) Using the landscape keyboard is nearly impossible because it takes up so much of the screen that only one line of type is visible. The Portrait SureType-style keyboard is fine.
8) The dialer is very good looking and easy to use.
All in all, a pretty good first WinMo offering from LG, IMHO, but not cutting-edge.

You could get an Unlocked Diamond and put your at&t sim card in it...

or just get the touch pro the thickness really isnt an issue
i came from an 8525 so much better and smaller

Would you recommend the Fuze?

I've really been considering to buy the Fuze, but I'm getting mixed reviews. For all the Fuze owners, please answer the poll so that us potential buyers will know what to do.
Thanks!

I'm stuck in between the Fuze and the Touch Pro now... I really don't know which one is better? They are the same price nowadays.
I recommend it. I had the Tilt before and I love the Touch, its probably the best WM phone I've had (I've used the Sprint 700wx, Sprint Q, Sprint Touch, AT&T Tilt and now the AT&T Fuze).
I'm sure the few issues that exist with the Fuze will be fixed within a month or two because of the wonderful people we have here making custom ROMs, porting radios, etc.
I am very happy with my Fuze. It's not perfect and definitely needs some tweaks, but I think it is the best Windows Mobile phone ever put out. The screen is fantastic and makes it worth it by itself.
Pros:
VGA screen
Excellent multimedia
Youtube works both in it's own app and the mobile website
Slingbox looks fantastic
Expanded keyboard
Sleek design
Touch Flo 3D really works good
Finally, good bluetooth reception
Cons:
So-so d-pad
More remappable buttons needed
No headphone out jack
I do miss the tilting screen of the Tilt
No forward facing camera (why AT&T?)
Overall, I love the phone. I don't even need to use my laptop much anymore. Plus, it should only get better. I can't wait to see the Fennec web browser released for WinMo.
The Fuze can run on AT&T's 3G bands, which is the biggest difference. Physically, the Fuze has a PTT button (remappable using a trick in this forum) and the Pro has a front-faceing camera, but they are otherwise the same. You can install whatever Touch Pro ROM you want on the Fuze once you flash Hard SPL on it, so the software difference should not be an issue. If you're on AT&T and in a 3G area, it's a no-brainer decision between the two.

US carriers don't support that functionality so it's cheaper for HTC to leave it out all together.
I've swithed from iPhone after droolling over Fuze release date for 2 months. First couple of days had slight regret (my first WM phone), but once I got the hang of it I fell in love with it. My girl tried it out and dropped her iPhone for Fuze aswell. IMHO, Fuze is on a much higher level and you just can't customize the iPhone the way you can Fuze, no matter what Apple commercials say. Oh and by the way, I realized how crappy Apple products are, but that's another story.
I said no because its not for everyone. I read a lot of people wanting something other than the iphone because of the data plan, this is not an iphone. Then they go and complaint that they cant do this, that its slow, that this, that that. I confess, I am/was one of those whining byotches. I know its not an iphone, I'm just afraid to customizing with roms and then f-it up and be stuck with a nice $300 paper weight. So maybe after my month is up, I'll have the balls to customize it.
Do you have to buy a data plan with the Fuze like you have to with the iPhone, for AT&T?
Only if you want the rebate.
If you want the best browser/entertainment device thats easy to use get an iphone. If you need a business phone outside of entertainment, get the fuze. Both are aimed at different type of consumer.
I know this is exactly what everyone hates to hear, and they just want a plain yes or no, but it really does depend on the person.
If your the kind of person thats really into the stuff they buy, and wants a device that has tons of opportunities and possibilities, then you will probably like the fuze. The beautiful thing about winmo devices is how much you can mess around with them. You can download tons of apps, customize, flash new ROMs, experiment, all kinds of stuff.
If you want something that is ALWAYS going to be friendly and never ever give you any quirks or problems and you just want something that is very cut and dry, the fuze may not be for you.
I would line up your priorities and see what is most important to you and more importantly, what would make you want to throw your phone out the window, cause those are the things that are ultimately going to make you happy when your using your device.
Fuze thoughts:
I have had this phone for 3 days now. My prior phone was an 8125. I unlocked and customized that phone after 30 days. I will most likely do the same thing with this one. Gotta read read read.
Initial review: Absolutely the awesomest phone I have had to date, only the 3rd PDA, though.
I miss the programmable buttons. I haven't figured everything out, but I am getting the hang of it. It has advanced customization, though I haven't even touched the surface. The keyboard is a little different from my 8125, and as I have used it extensively for 2 years, I am accustomed to the numbers being along the top row. I think the 'Full 5 Row QWERTY keyboard on the phone should more closely resemble a normal keyboard, however, I am certain I will get used to it with a little practice.
I have one problem that AT&T doesn't know how to fix: the error message "Smart Chip Not Provisioned MM #2" comes up and shuts off phone signal. I initially thought it was the smart chip. I placed it in my 8125, and no problems. Then I exchanged the phone. Still no fix. It isn't a hard error I can readily duplicate, it just happens intermittently, but only in a specific location, so now I suspect the towers serving the area in which it happens. I suppose it could be the sim card in conjunction with the 3G network which the 8125 doesn't support, but further troubleshooting will eventually solve this one.
Addtionally I was hoping that AT&T wouldn't cripple the forward facing camera, but it isn't there, and I'm not willing to pay $550 more for a Touch Pro off Ebay just for that. As there isn't a lot of network support for live video conferencing, it really isn't that much of a problem for me anyway.
Reception seems to be about the same as my 8125, but again, further testing will support or disprove my initial experience. I am currently having trouble with the GPS function, but it is probably just a configuration/setup issue that I have not played with enough. The phone will tether without the laptop connect package, but you have to make a small edit in the registry. This is a relatively painless process.
This is not meant to criticize the Fuze. These are the only real problems (and minor to me) that I have encountered, and would give this phone a HIGH recommendation.
MrRuss

Help me pick a phone!

My entry into the smartphone/pda industry was an original HTC Tilt/Kaiser. I loved it and still do.
Recently I renewed my contract with AT&T and made the knee jerk decision to get an iPhone 3GS. I was enamored with the phone in the beginning but its over. I am trying to decide which phone to get but none of them fit the bill! So I need some assistance deciding when to sell my iPhone to buy a newer one.
I want to sell it while its still crazy priced on ebay and I can land over $700 for it still heh... crazy people.... So I want to time it about a month prior to the release of the phone I am after.
The one I am eyeballing now is the Sony xperia x10. Although I do sort of want windows mobile (my currency trading broker has some sweet trading software for it.) But I will take the hit and use android with a vpn to my home pc.
I really want a high end phone with a great camera and fast processor and beautiful large screen for multimedia and stock charts...
So what future phones for AT&T fit the bill? Also, if they are not a AT&T direct release is a big plus also since you can get cheaper internet. (Yes I am looking at you x1 users! I hate you!)

Hi Mercilus
The obvious phone that fits that descreption is the HD2 (or Leo, depending how it's being branded where you are), however, for me i would choose the Touch Pro 2 (Rhodium) as it has a phisical keyboard, as a Winmo user, I am unaware of the stats of the android phones lying around
(Go For Winmo )
Badwolve1
I would go for Rhodium or Leo
Thanks for the responses I will research into those a bit.
Doing a quick search and it seems they both are expected any time now?
Still trying to decypher if they are available for US-AT&T 3g.
Rhodium is out since some moths
Tils2 is the name of it on at&t and I guess it has 3G...
And for Leo I know it´s also already out in Europe

LOL...now that's funny
Htc leo/hd2 is coming exclusively to t-mobile u.s.a
For People saying get the HD2 a.k.a HTC LEO, that phone is coming EXCLUSIVELY to T-Mobile U.S.A. If you want that on at&t that means you have to buy the unlocked version and get only EDGE on at&t.
I know this since I follow t-mobile usa and htc on twitter and they both said it. Phonedog said and even facebook said it. Go google it if you doubt me.

Yeah, that definately would be a problem. I definately do enjoy using high speed data, so 3g is a must.
So for the current phone options, it looks like I may be keeping my iPhone 3gs for a bit longer god it hurts to say that.....
Any ideas what I should keep my eye on for the future? The LG Expo looks pretty cool but I dont know if I trust LG....
People here have a bias for HTC, and I don't think they considered that you might want a phone that is being offered by your carrier.
So you are satisfied with Windows Mobile and HTC was a good Xperiance.
I suggest HTC Touch Pro2 or an LG Expo.
HTC Touch Pro2 for functionality.
LG Expo for speed, and performance.
i've been using a dopod u1000 / athena / ameo / advantage for quite some time now...and finally opted to sell it.
just got myself a brand new htc touch pro 2 sprint. definitely worth it!

Very true about the bias.
If you want something like the Tilt ... you could probably get the Tilt 2 for cheap on ebay.

Here is what I anticipate and what I know and I will list as Pros of the Touch Pro2 (AKA HTC Tilt2) over the LG Expo:
Pros:
Stereo speaker (LG Expo does not have 2-speakers)
Tilting screen (LG Expo does not have)
Dual microphones (LG Expo does not have 2-mics)
Touch FLO3D Home Screen (subjective) (LG Expo does not have)
Better keyboard design and feedback (subjective)
HTC's tendency to offer updates (input fields will be enlarged finger friendly!)
LED Indicators for CAPS Lock and FN Lock, which has proven useful
LG Expo's Point Of View
Pros:
Projector attachment (HTC Tilt2 does not have)
Twice the CPU speed (technical) (HTC Tilt2 does not have)
Fingerprint reader and scroll pad (HTC Tilt2 does not have)
Other Stuff
Things that I never consider when comparing phones: form factor and size difference, and XDA Support (cause I rarely flash and do that kind of stuff).
Things that you must consider when reading my opinions: I have never laid my hands on an LG Expo. I never touched the LG Expo keyboard but from the looks of it, the keys look amazing, but I've laid my hands on top keyboards before and Touch Pro2 is the best so I am just guessing that LG Expo isn't as good.
As you can see, if you need a speedy device with keyboard almost as good as the Touch Pro2, get the LG Expo. If you are tired of the lag of the likes of Xperia X1, Touch Pro1, or Touch Diamond, then maybe LG Expo is better than Touch Pro2.
If you really like the fact that you have an indicator their to watch your back and protect you from Capitalization/Symbol typography-mistakes, and if you like a beautiful home-screen to soothe your stress while you load a movie and watch it via a 3.5 inch tilting screen with high quality and loud volume, then get the Touch Pro2.
However, you might consider getting external bluetooth speakers and attach that projector on the expo so you can have a movie experience, but the setup is just too much of a wasted time. The same goes for the TV-Out on the Touch Pro2.
The best reason to get Expo2 is for speedier response and for projected presentations (not entertainment).
The best reason to get Touch Pro2, aka Tilt2, is for it's multimedia value and capabilities (better sound, tilting screen) and for the effectiveness of typing messages (especially when you don't make mistakes with CAPs indicators).
What would seal the deal for me was that if the CAPs button had the LED indicator build into the button, it would be perfect. The same desire applies to the FN button. Besides, sometimes I forget to read the indicator because I am used to looking at the indicator directly on top of my CAPs button on my laptop.

Why?
I was hoping for an advantage as an upgrade to the Universal. To me, the touch pro2 is just too small and fiddly.

apologies as this is deviating from the topic =)
the thing is, i've been using my u1000 for like 3 years now. don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic device. but i've also outgrown the size factor. meaning, the u1000 is not as easy to carry around unless you tuck it in your pocket...in which case you'll have a bulge that deserves its own zip code. of course there are pouches or cases that can be strapped on your belt...not that i'm not a fan of it...and there is simply carrying it around with one hand. given that, when a call comes through i either have to use the handsfree or bluetooth...the former of which has a dangling wire which i'm not too comfortable with...and the latter which can be a drain as you constantly have to be aware of battery life (both for the bt and u1000)...and trust me, i never had plans of putting the unit right next to my ear to answer a call. again, it's a fantastic device but my preferences have changed. so last monday, sent it off to a buyer in ebay and then got myself a touch pro 2.
on that note, i was considering a touch hd 2, an acer m900, lg expo, and the touch pro 2. my views in order of preference
touch pro 2 - keyboard is fantastic. was able to try this out myself when i borrowed my mate's unit. tilt screen is awesome and the display was simply tops. i already have a 16gb micro sd so memory is no problem.
touch hd 2 - fantastic all out but lacks a physical keyboard of which i've gotten used to.
lg expo - a very good contender but the screen doesn't tilt. plus i get all the support i need through this site for an htc. not really a fan of the fingerprint thingee. i was able to play around with this while in hong kong. keys are good (definitely better than the acer m900 per below) but not on par with the touch pro 2. for the projector which you need to purchase separately, there's a whole bunch of mobile projectors that can be bought and linked to your ppc.
acer m900 - lacks memory (@128 ram), while in hong kong i was able to fiddle with one and i must say that the design wasn't as good...no offense to anyone using it. keyboard was not as easy (sticking keys), screen does not tilt, sliding the keypad kinda gave me the feel that it would eventually fall off (?) as it was "shaky"

TBH, Acer is the worst of them all, and Touch Pro2 and HD2 are the best.
And the LG Expo isn't that good either but it is a sign that LG is finally making good phones. I'm tired of their voyagers and env's which are too popular in the U.S. and they are the worst 'smartphones' ever. Their new chocolates with 4 in super-wide displays and 4.8 inch super-wide displays have also increased my enthusiasm for LG phones.

Reccomend a Phone thread

Hi folks, you know the drill, my current phone (an HTC Mogul) is getting past it's usefulness and once more I find myself on a hunt to find a phone that has the most of what I do want and the least of what I don't, in other words the best compremise between the device of my dreams and what's actually avaliable.
Further to this I am limited in funds so not only can I not go out and purchase a brand new top of the line model, the device I do end up getting will hopefully last me for a long time (or at least longer then the 1yr I got out of my Mogul).
Perhaps I should start by looking at why my current phone just doesn't do it for me anymore?
1) No wireless - Ever since I flashed it to 6.5 I have had no wifi.
2) No 3.5mm plug - The HTC proprieity adapter hardly works half the time either.
3) OS - 6.5 WiMo flashed is pretty unstable, I regularly have to reset the device because it locks up or just won't work.
4) QVGA - probably the best I can afford, but I do a lot of reading on this and a higher res would be better for my eyes.
5) CDMA - I really need a quadband simcard capable phone.
So what do I want?
1) Wifi, bluetooth, GPS
2) 2mp camera or better
3) 6.5 Wimo native, preferably with duel boot capibility
4) 3.5 or 2.5mm audio output, or HTCusb that actually works!
5) Keyboard if possible (I really like the qwerty thumboard on my Mogul)
6) WVGA or VGA would be nice, but it might be out of my price point.
7) GSM QUADBAND!
Any reccomendations of models would be nice, thankyou
Go for Rhodium!
Definitely the best hardware device out there
If want to spent less money you can try Rapahel or even less (if you find someone who want to sell) Universal
Thanks for the recc, I will check those two out
I agree with ORB you should go for a Rapahel because it has so many roms to flash and it is cheap compared to the latest devices .

Hmm, looking at ebay, the Rhod looks like its about $100 more then the Raph
or $300 for the Touch2 and $210 for the Raph.
At those prices it seems like it would be better just to pay the difference?
Also no one will ship to New Zealand
Yes on that case better go for Rhodium
I have seen ebay sellers who ships to almost any part of the world.
Also have a look on marketplace section, you can find very good deals
Good luck,
UPDATE: I bought myself a HTC Rhodium, very happy with it.
Now, I want to buy my GF a new phone for her birthday. Currenty she is using my ****ty old Blue Angel with WiMo 6.1
She uses the phone everyday (carries it around in her bag), but the only thing she does on it is read. She sometimes sends text messages, but usually not. She hasn't really used any of its other features or installed her own programs or anything (she is a programmer, so she does have the skills to do so).
At the moment I'm tossing up between a HTC Diamond, Diamond 2, Touch HD and another Rhodium. I'm leaning more toward the Diamond1 though. We generally try to avoid spending lots and she's more then happy with the PDA2k so even the diamond is a big upgrade and isn't too expensive.
I use my Rhodium to read alot of comics, but at 480x640 the screen should be highres enough to be an improvement. The other reason I'm leaning toward the Diamond is because of it's small size, and easier for her to carry around.
So, my question: Is there anything wrong with the Diamond that I should consider, and are there any other devices with VGA or better resolution in a similar price range that I should take a look?
Also what is the difference between the Touch Pro and the Diamond (besides the keyboard)?
If you need keyboard go for Raphael, if you don´t need it go for Diamond 2, I buyed one in marketplace for 180US a few months ago.
Or take another Rhodium
Why the recommendations for Rapheal? I am ready to put mine through a wall. The keyboard has gone flaky in the last three months...(delete requires holding down, not just press, P has started to not work, space now triple spaces)
In addition the screen started to separate over the 'x' button about two months back, now I hve that leaky black spot you get when screens break. The control pad at bottom has started to have the plastic cover start to come up.
In the last month the phone has decided to start dropping calls and even losing towers completely. (I have not changed anything on phone in over 6 months) I have rebooted the phone at least 10 times in last three weeks because of screen starting lock up, non-responsive push buttons, and complete lost of tower without attempting to reaquire.
This phone is going tits-up recently and I have had it locked to Edge forever because it will not hold a 3G signal in a very large city.
Not a recommend from me.
Thanks for the reccomendatiom - and the non recccomendation ^_^;
(silly extra text because my message was too short)
Ok, at this stage I am leaning toward the HTC Touch. The touch is fatter, but it looks like it has a lot more memory which has surely got to result in a better user experiance. It's about the same price as a diamond as well - I just have to find someone on here to sell a raphael to me.
I have a moderately worn Tmo Touch Pro 2 I'm selling off on ebay later today. Only doing a 3 day auction starting at $0.99. If interested I'll post a link. Pics are great of the scratches so you can probably grab it for $125-$150.
a link sounds good

What where the main issues you had with it?
I've just upgraded from my mogul to the touch2, and the main issue I had with the mogul was the low res and slow processor compared to the touch 2, but overall it was a good phone.
NEED ANDROID PHONE WITH Qwerty keyboard
I'm looking for a new phone to replace my aging G1 but I dont want to give up the real keyboard. The mytouch slide is nice but it's hardware isn't on par with nexus one or htc incredible. The new Samsung Galaxy S Pro with sprint seems promising but not so sure about community support. I love how with my G1 I have so many options, so many great ROMs from Cyanogen and others on XDA. I'm worried that If I go with a samsung I will have better hardware but very few choices when it comes to moded roms. Is there an alternative phone out there with hardware on par with the latest HTC phones that have a slide out keyboard. Any one care to offer thier opinions??
whats your budget?
android or wimo?

Windows Mobile Based Phone

What is currently the most powerful windows mobile based phone on the market, and are there any new models advertised for release with windows 7 I should be waiting for instead?
Available now: Leo definitely
Leo if you like bigass touchscreens, also has snapdragon so it is defitely going to be fast, otherwise rodium if you like hardware keyboards.
As for Windows Phone 7, nothing at the moment.
Thank you for the advice. I already have the Rhodium and it really has never failed to impress me with what it can do.
Unfortunately Telus up here in Canada are crappy for what phones we can get so I wouldn't be able to get the leo anyway, and i really like having a physical keyboard.

Then check out an HD2. Its like a Rhodium on roids and meth. I went from a Rhodium to a HD2 so I know the differences. I was a lil worried about the no keyboard thing but I kept my Rhodium and got hte HD2 second hand for cheap so I could always sell one. The first day I was happy but still unsure, you can't use a stylus, but the touch screen is way way way way way superior to the Rhodiums so it actually worked like it should in finger touch mode. I practiced the onscreen kb a day ran some apps and watched some 2GB xvid movies and and was sold 110% on the HD2. Then a week later I discovered swype on it, and OMG the KB isn't an issue at all. You can go so so much faster on swype then on the traditional KB I'd never go back. One issue is battery life. It isn't as good but it does seem to be the best of the 1GHZ phones with stock battery. I can easily go a day may be two with out a charge listening to a couple hours of streaming 3g music a day and checking my email, updating weather, etc... I say take the plunge if your a WM guy, its a hell of an upgrade from a Rhodium. Oh and its slim as hell, easy in the pocket.

[Q] HD2 or TP2?

I'm going to be getting a new phone soon and being completely biased, what do you think I should get? The HD2 or the TP2?
Okay, 21 people and no reply? Not even a choice in the poll? Come on man!
I vote hd2. The display and hardware are excellent.
Thank you! Finally someone actually said something haha The people (person) have finally spoken a word haha
Depends entirely on what you want. The HD2 is a nice, high-spec piece of kit, but it's a bit on the large side. The Touch Pro 2 is more pocketable, and has the best keyboard I've seen in a phone.
These are personal observations, and it's why I traded my HD2 for a Touch Pro 2.
HTC HD2
pros:
1. faster processor
2. more memory
3. capacitive screen
4. largest screen on a WinMo device
5. 16gb card included
6. hspa+ capable (not sure if tp2 is, but probably is also)
7. thinner
Touch Pro2
1. best hardware keyboard of any slider device
guess you can tell which way I voted.
To the person that said the tp2 is more pocketable, they are crazy. Yes the hd2 is bigger, but the tp2 is much fatter.
I have the TP2 and trust me it is becoming outdated fast. Get the HD2 or better yet wait another month or 2 because WP7 should be dropping by the end of this year.
If you must choose between one of these two phones, get the HD2. I have a TP2 because I want a hardware keyboard, but man is this thing slow by today's standards.
If you can wait though, there are a TON of better phones about to be released. It's worth waiting if you can.
Yeah, I completely agree with you about the Touch Pro 2 becoming outdated, I think if they would have just waited and relaesed it with better specs more people would buy it and it would have been a completely better product to sell and buy. I'm leaning more towards the HD2...especially since I can just hook up a mini bluetooth keyboard up to it and type off of that like a super slacker
But I digress, it sadens me that the touch pro 2 is getting outdated so quickly. I don't know how I feel about WP7 right now...I'm going to have to get a feel of it before I make an opinion on that but from what I've read, I'm not liking some of that stuff and I don't like that crappy "zune" concept that they are giving it. They should make it original. To me it seems like Gates and Jobs are having a battle to see whose phone will resemble their MP3's more haha
Beside the hardware keyboard, there is another function that keeps me to stay with Rhodium TP2, that is its dominant accoustic/sound performance. It is equipped with dual speaker and dual microphone. In addition, you can turn it into a conference phone by simply turn it upsidedown and put on the table during a phone call. Up to now I did not find any other hand phones with such good speaker phone performance.
I do also have a Leo, but the sound performance is far behind.
I did like the sound on the TP2 (I've played with both the HD2 and the TP2) but the sound really isn't that important as long as it's still audible like the HD2 and I'm not really a business man so the laying down of the TP2 to have it in speaker is awesome...but not really needed since I mostly use bluetooth. By the by, does anyone know if you can actually have Android as the main Rom for your HD2? (Meaning, the phone turns off, turns back on and android is loaded without having WM 6.5 as the middle man)
I voted HD2
I find the TP2 a little bit out-dated at this moment.

Yeah, it definitely is. Honestly though the only other HTC phone that stands out to me is the HD2...well that and the G2
Bro. Coming from a guy that has both. I actually like the HD2 better. The touch pro 2 is a great phone but the HD2 is far more advanced and the modding ability (if your into that type of thing) is great for both WM and Android. I cant go back. The touch pro 2 still is a good phone. Just may be outdated at this point.
I voted HD2. I love mine.
i have the hd2 and im very happy.so my next phone is hd3.haven't see it yet;see it and wait.all the money.
TP2 have a lovely sound play xD.......its amazing and the best keyboard ever done....But other way, HD2 have a better screen, much more fast (the TP2 its very noise about speed :S)
But...hd2 can be dificult with touch screen...dont support any stylus :S
Don't get either. Wait for one of the new WP7 devices.
Go for the HD2 unless you really want the keyboard IMHO.
I have used TP2 since its release to Tmobile then switched to HD2 recently. After using HD2 for a couple of months, I can't stand the resistive touch screen that TP2 uses anymore. The capacitive touch is much much more sensitive.
Now I'm using TP2 as a backup phone in case HD2 goes out but if I had the choice initially, I would be all in for HD2.
BTW, unless you have to have WM6.5, the new MyTouch 4G and Samsung Vibrant are pretty good as well.
