Help with Skype (I searched first) - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Simply put, I cannot get Skype to work on my Touch Pro.
I can use it to chat, but the option to talk is there, but I cannot select it.
I found a few instances of this happening on Windows Mobile 6.1 around the web, but no consensus on how to fix it.

Can you elaborate a little as to why it does not work? What happens when you open? Have you tried the obviouse which is to uninstall and soft reset and re-install? Throw a little more up so we can help you. _SDL

I did try to uninstall and re-install complete with a soft reset, yes. I also tried this with both versions of Skype mobil offered on Skype.com.
Basically, when you launch the program, a list of your contacts are displayed.
I can click on a contact and bring up their detailed information.
However, I can only click to chat and cannot click to talk. The image below is taken from my home computer as I do not have the screen capture feature installed on my phone. Now on my phone the red phone icon would be grayed out and you are not ale to click on it to do a voice call. You are able to fully click on the chat icon, though.

I have the same problem, I think.
You can sign in OK, but all of the contacts appear off-line (even though I know they are not). If a contact is selected, the chat button is enabled, but the voice call button is disabled.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no effect.
I tried changing the options (Wifi on/off, etc). No effect.

Yes, exactly.
Sorry I cannot edit my post to fix the image, but I keep getting a server error.

Doh!!!
The answer was that I had my status set to "offline".
Set it to "Online" and it works OK (except that it uses the back speaker - that's the next thing I need to get sorted).

Second Battery icon mystery

I just recently got a windows phone, and like a fool I immediately started customizing...then I realized I didn't know what I was doing. Long story short, I installed something (I have no idea what) that put a second battery icon on my home screen, and can't figure out how to get rid of it. There is nothing in the add/remove programs, and no running tasks. Anyone recognize this? Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it?
Thanks,
C

You will need to check which programs you have installed. Click on START-> PROGRAMS and view there or alternatively click on START-> SETTINGS -> SYSTEM and then select Remove Programs which would show all that you have installed. From that may be able to help as I've had the same icon just can't remember where from.
The unwanted 2nd battery is from QuickMenu...you can tap and hold there to change what is being shown.
Thanks for the response, but I checked all this and no luck. It seems to be a remnant of something I un-installed. Has anbody seen it before? Maybe if I re-install the software and remove it again it will go away...I just don't know what that software is....

Oops...didn't see the jamesus post. That was it! Went to Quickmenu site read how to remove it and viola no more 2nd battery indicator! Thanks to all of you!
Weird, just posted about this in the Herald forum, I didn't even think of searching the general forum for a topic about this. I'm having the same problem - checked the quickmenu settings and disabled "show battery on taskbar." That got rid of the battery icon, but now there's nothing in its place! I can't figure out how to restore the task manager shortcut to the top right. Were you able to get it back?

WhatsApp web not working well on Honor 6+

WhatsApp should not need the phone screen to be on, in order to use it, like other phones I've tried. But the Honor 6+ does.
e.g. I'll try to send a message using the web interface. The message will sit there until I turn on the phone.
Maybe this is EMUI's overly aggressive power management, but I cannot find the right setting to allow WhatsApp to work OK when the screen is off.
Any ideas?

I second this. I often have to open Whatsapp on the phone before my PC connects. Also it forgets my contacts and even wont show new messages as push notification from time to time.
Is there a way to stop EMUI from closing my apps?
I've found a solution, to this and other problems I think.
Download PM Plus from the store, and make WhatsApp a trusted application.. from then on the web version will work just fine.

[BUG in Marshmallow?] Accidentally blocked premium messages

I accidentally tapped 'NEVER ALLOW' when asked to choose between 'ASK AGAIN', 'ALWAYS ALLOW' and 'NEVER ALLOW' for premium messages and I can't seem to find the setting in the settings to change it back. I am on Marshmallow. Anybody can help? Thank you.
EDIT: I installed Google Messenger and when I tried to send a premium message, I got the same popup again but this time I pressed ALWAYS ALLOW and everything worked fine. Although, the normal Messages app is still blocked from sending these premium messages. Here is a screenshot of this popup:

I need to change the setting on the normal Messages app. I can't seem to find the setting and it most probably is a bug in Marshmallow.
The only fix I could get is to factory reset. There's a missing setting which forces you to do so.
If you got this problem, your only option is to factory reset.
Yeap, there is a bug here. The only solution is making factory reset
I have the same problem. Unfortunately, I was forced to download another application to send text messages, because i can't do factory reset yet. But, I've noticed that the lock works only on the number on which clicked "do not allow"

No there is a way to do it.
Found the solution.
Go to application manager
Then go to the top right to more then hit show system apps
Then go down to messaging services
Once you're in there go to the send premium sms and select always send.

Very weird problem about the emergency button in lock screen

Hi everyone,
The wired problem is every time I press that button, it won't show my emergency info but reboot my phone signal(signal bar will be empty with a "x" then come back automatically). It worked before, and I think this happened after I rooted my phone with Magisk.

Any ideas about this? Thanks in advance.
Basic phone info: stock Rom 8.1, stock kernel
Solved: Because of a misconfigured theme file.
I think the phone changes (or resets?) some network configs as part of enhanced emergency services in preparation for you to dial 911. I just checked and mine does it too although I don't know about previous phones or android versions. I'm inclined to think it's more of a feature than is apparent.

Might be, but when it was working, it would show my emergency contact info. Right now nothing happened only got this problem (and just found the left up corner also said no service no sim card), and also no dial panel to dial 911

Strange message "Request time out, please retry or check your network settings" ...

I reset my phone (Bluboo S1 on "clean" android, version photo below) to factory settings to clean it a bit. After the reset, some strange, even idiotic message started to appear ... The message appears at different times on the screen above the applications, regardless of them. This is a pain in the ass. However, the biggest problem for me is that probably because of this message, I cannot enter the "podium" tab in one of the games (Sky Force) and view the results of my friends, or even add any, because there is a server communication error. Before resetting the phone, I didn't have anything like that ... Not only that, I did a flash on the phone again and it didn't help. The firmware version is the same as before the reset, so theoretically there shouldn't be any change in how the phone works and yet it is ...
This message is caused by the left side desktop with imposed shortcuts (photo of the desktop with the message below). I did not have this additional desktop before resetting the phone ... And I am most surprised that it appeared, since the firmware version is identical. Interestingly, if after restarting the phone I do not move the main screen to the left to enter this additional desktop, i.e. it does not refresh, this message will not appear until I enter this desktop - then it begins ... Just not entering this desktop and not activating the message still means that my game can connect to the manufacturer's server ...
I am asking for some help, for example, how to diagnose which phone process is responsible for this additional desktop and for messages. Maybe we could kill him somehow and get rid of the problem?
