Strange message "Request time out, please retry or check your network settings" ... - General Questions and Answers

I reset my phone (Bluboo S1 on "clean" android, version photo below) to factory settings to clean it a bit. After the reset, some strange, even idiotic message started to appear ... The message appears at different times on the screen above the applications, regardless of them. This is a pain in the ass. However, the biggest problem for me is that probably because of this message, I cannot enter the "podium" tab in one of the games (Sky Force) and view the results of my friends, or even add any, because there is a server communication error. Before resetting the phone, I didn't have anything like that ... Not only that, I did a flash on the phone again and it didn't help. The firmware version is the same as before the reset, so theoretically there shouldn't be any change in how the phone works and yet it is ...
This message is caused by the left side desktop with imposed shortcuts (photo of the desktop with the message below). I did not have this additional desktop before resetting the phone ... And I am most surprised that it appeared, since the firmware version is identical. Interestingly, if after restarting the phone I do not move the main screen to the left to enter this additional desktop, i.e. it does not refresh, this message will not appear until I enter this desktop - then it begins ... Just not entering this desktop and not activating the message still means that my game can connect to the manufacturer's server ...
I am asking for some help, for example, how to diagnose which phone process is responsible for this additional desktop and for messages. Maybe we could kill him somehow and get rid of the problem?

Help with Skype (I searched first)

Simply put, I cannot get Skype to work on my Touch Pro.
I can use it to chat, but the option to talk is there, but I cannot select it.
I found a few instances of this happening on Windows Mobile 6.1 around the web, but no consensus on how to fix it.
Can you elaborate a little as to why it does not work? What happens when you open? Have you tried the obviouse which is to uninstall and soft reset and re-install? Throw a little more up so we can help you. _SDL
I did try to uninstall and re-install complete with a soft reset, yes. I also tried this with both versions of Skype mobil offered on Skype.com.
Basically, when you launch the program, a list of your contacts are displayed.
I can click on a contact and bring up their detailed information.
However, I can only click to chat and cannot click to talk. The image below is taken from my home computer as I do not have the screen capture feature installed on my phone. Now on my phone the red phone icon would be grayed out and you are not ale to click on it to do a voice call. You are able to fully click on the chat icon, though.

I have the same problem, I think.
You can sign in OK, but all of the contacts appear off-line (even though I know they are not). If a contact is selected, the chat button is enabled, but the voice call button is disabled.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no effect.
I tried changing the options (Wifi on/off, etc). No effect.
Yes, exactly.
Sorry I cannot edit my post to fix the image, but I keep getting a server error.
Doh!!!
The answer was that I had my status set to "offline".
Set it to "Online" and it works OK (except that it uses the back speaker - that's the next thing I need to get sorted).

Does anyone recognize what's on this screenshot? PLZ...

A picture is worth a thousand words... So they say. But this picture is missing one word - the name of the software. Suspects are: Qmenu, SPB pocket plus, Phonealarm, WM native behaviour. If anyone knows this, please share, I'm having weird battery problems (like shutdown on 30% and then after powering up, sitting on 1% for over an hour with active usage). I'd like to hunt this bug down and make a kill. Screenshot was made with auto-capture utility, because it only shows right before shutdown, so this bugger was hard to catch. Even now bottom of the image is missing, probably due to write operation being interrupted by shutdown. You can see behind the image in question there is PhonEx being meddled with.
Thanks.

I have no idea what it is (not even sure what I'm supposed to be looking at), but get a task manager like dotfred's or xtask and look up all the open windows. You should be able to track it down that way, and remove whatever's opening it up.
Well, thanks for the advice, but if You read carefully what I wrote, then You could imagine that it's really hard to pull that off in 2-3 seconds while the device is shutting down. Of course, if there would be a system snapshot kind of program - which would let me take a snapshot or log of all open windows in every 1-2 seconds - then it would be awesome, but I am not aware that the utilities You mentioned are able to accomplish that.

How to stop (SIM) pop-up messages from keeping the screen on indefinitely?

Hello everyone,
In my country, carriers would send those annoying pop-up messages (I think they're called class-0 messages?). This has been the case for a couple of years and they won't stop no matter what you do. Anyway, it wasn't a big deal with my previous phones; I just learned to ignore them.
However, with my A30s (which I've had for a few months), I'm facing a critical issue where the screen will turn on for the message and never turn off unless I close the pop-up or manually turn it off by pressing the power button. There are basically two types of those messages:
1) Ones that show up after a call is ended (very annoying but avoidable if I remember to close the message after ending the call):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) Ones that show up randomly (sometimes at night while I'm asleep. Screen stays on overnight and drains the battery):
I couldn't even tell which app is responsible for displaying those messages. I checked the permissions for the messages app and the phone app, disabled the "draw over other apps" permission for the messages app, installed Google's messages app and set it as default (since I can't uninstall or disable the main one) but the problem persisted. I also checked the permissions for the "SIM toolkit" app but there were none. I tried disabling the notifications but the option was grayed out.
Does anyone know how to get rid of these messages?
Note: I want to avoid rooting the device or installing a custom rom.
