[Q] SkyFire and Echoing - General Questions and Answers

First, I downloaded SkyFire to my Fuze and I don't like it, its got a lot of problems, and I don't know how to delete it, so how do I do it?
Second, I am having some pretty bad echoing on my Fuze, does anyone else have this problem and if so were you able to fix it?

Go to start/settings/system/remove programs/
remove skyfire.

Phone no longer plays any ring

At some point recently, my WM6 phone stopped playing its ringtone (normal WM6 ringtone sound, haven't changed it). If I go into Settings->Sounds & Notifications and check the Phone: Incoming Call sound, it is correct and plays. If I check in Settings->Phone and check the sound, it is correct and plays. But it doesn't play when I actually get a call. Changing the ring tone to something else doesn't help either. Anyone have any idea how this can be fixed, other than a hard reset (soft reset doesn't work)?
hi
this happened to me wayyyy back when i still had my xda2. although i'm pretty sure wm se2003 and wm2006 are completely different =)...what happened was i installed an app that's causing the conflict. i forgot which app was causing this problem but after i uninstalled it, did a soft reset and the ringtones came back. for your case, you might want to check if you installed recent apps. if yes, perhaps one of them is causing this. i think it's mostly the old applications that affect the system. example, installing an app made for se2003 devices.
or, is your bluetooth on? it's possible that all sound is being rerouted to the headset. i think it's a bug for a lot of devices.
hope that helps.
cheers

Thanks for the reply.
Fring is the application in this instance (I wanted to use Skype over my 3G connection, but the Skype client itself is a no-go, unless you go back to an old version that only outputs via the speakerphone). As far as I can tell this happened after installing it.
Problem is, after uninstalling Fring and doing a soft reset, the problem remains. I figured maybe the issue is a registry setting or the like, but have no idea where. So I turn to all you knowledgeable people in the hope that the answer isn't "do a hard reset." :-|

TouchFlo 3d crashing on messaging tabs

Just this morning, I've been having problems when I try to access email or SMS on my Fuze: If I try and use TouchFlo to get to these tabs, it just crashes and reloads. Firing up the Messaging program directly doesn't work; it won't even start.
I've not added any new programs or changed the way anything works recently. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
Thanks for your help.
If it helps, the contents of the .dmp files it creates in /HTClogs are topped with:
Code:
ExceptionInfo,0xE06D7363,0x03F905B8
There's a lot more, but it won't let me paste it all in here, and I can't see anything else that looks relevant; if there's anything I should be looking for, let me know...
Did you do a message restore recently, or maybe over-write pim.vol? I've had it fall apart on me when I over-wrote pim.vol without first disabling manila. Just a guess. You said you didn't install anything, but are you sure? Manila gets really picky sometimes if you over-write a few files while it is running.

I haven't done anything that sounds like that. It seemed to happen when I received a simple text message, though I'd be surprised if that was the actual cause.
There aren't any messages on there that I'd be particularly sorry to lose, so could I fix this by wiping out pim.vol? If so, how would I go about that?
Thanks for the help.

Hard reset is the only way to get the original back.
Use something like MyPhone to get your messages and contacts back.
Do not try to restore a backup.
I was afraid you'd say something like that. Ah, well.

[Q] Question for IM+ Users

Anybody use IM+ on their Transformer? Do you randomly see a popup in the notification area stating "IM+ is running"? Why the hell does it do that and is there a way to make it stop? I first installed IM+ back on like June 3rd and used it for a couple days and it did NOT do this. Then a few days later a new version came out and it started diong that then, and it's done it with every version since. I asked about it on the IM+ forum but nobody seemed to knkow anything aout it as if I have some secial tablet or version of the software.
On antoher note, wish they'd fix the damn keyboard lag in browsers other than Opera, makes typing crap up like this almost worthless.
IM+ gives me this, too. Not only that, but when I decide to exit, IM+ decides to restart itself and pop that toast up. It's really annoying.

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to... Just about every site?

"Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to... Any website you need to go to right now! Mwuahaha!"
As funny as it sounds, that is exactly whats happening to me right now and its really starting to bug, and I cant seem to find a fix.
Oddly enough, its only happening to sites I want or need to go to and isn't happening with sites I don't care about or have any use for.
For example, when typing in a random website it loads up just fine, but when typing in anything from my bookmarks or sites I go to on a regular basis it doesn't. It doesn't even try to load, before a blink of an eye that annoying "Oops! Page" comes up.
Anyone else ever have this problem or know a solution? Thanks a lot!
SOLVED:
The problem was with AdAway changing the hosts file which can be found in system/etc.
After disabling AdAway which returned my hosts file to its original state, everything started working again as it should.
Thank you all anyway and hopefully someone with the same problem will find this information useful.
