Hi,
I have a Glofiish, but I would really like to have a Task Manager close button in the upper right corner in today screen (like in Touch Diamond). This button displays the list of opened apps with a [X] button in front of each that allows to really close them.
Do you know some soft like this ?
Or is it possible to extract it from a Touch Diamond ?
Would it be compatible ?
Thanks.

My eyes hurt so much searching for a solution to this. I am looking for a way to create a shortcut to the task manager from the today screen without using the stylus.
Is there anything out there that can simulate hitting the x,y coordinates for where the task manager lies? WisVol.exe solves the issue of hitting the volume wo/ the stylus. I am looking for the same solution for the task manager.
Shortcut to taskmanager
Hi there,
I can think of 2 solutions:
1- go to settings/buttons and set a button you do ont use to launch either the built in task list (tasks) which should bring up the running programs dialog or any task manager you have installed.
2- use the file "defcpl.zip". I can't remember where I got it from but it is shortcuts that link directly to the control panel options. Only problem is that I cannot find a way for them to show a real icon.
what device do you have? it's a hard button on my i780 - you hold down the OK button....
I am customizing my Sprint Plugin. I have the speaker icon simulating the volume buttom. (Stylus-less Today Screen) I would like to replace the Opera icon with the Task Manager icon and start the Task Manager as shown. I need something to simulate hitting the x,y coordinates of the upper-right most corner of the Today screen.
I think VJOkButt has a mode that simulates clicking in the top right.
Try that for now. I'll also look into a better way to simulating the clickeration.

Thanks. If anyone can do it would be you!
Is there any way I can configure the 'back' button on my Pro to actually, close programs instead of just leaving them running in the background eating up resources???
I've set the "tap x to close programs" setting but it doesn't seem to make any difference and I really hate having to press that little "x" key in the top right corner with my big thumbs!!! I also checked out the "Raphael Tweaks" but nothing on there either.
Anyone got any ideas????

Start -> Settings -> System -> Task Manager
Select "Button" from the tabs and uncheck both check boxes.
Done.

I think every task manager which does it's job will do that, exept the HTC Task Manager crap.
OK this is really getting me down now!!!
these various task managers, like the default HTC app, all close the application when you TOUCH the 'x' button but they don't do it if you press the hardware <- 'back' button??
I also notice that unlike my Artemis when you go into settings -> buttons only 1 button action, Button 1 (hold), is available. where the other 3 buttons are is a mystery button 1 btw turns out to be the phone send button.
So my question is two fold, before I throw my TP out the nearest window...
1. does anybody know of a way to configure a TP so that when you press the back button it actually closes the application?
2. anybody know if there is a registry key or someway to add the other 3 hardware buttons to the settings -> buttons configuration app??
Pls help before I go totally MAD!!!

Hooooo Rahhhhhhhh I found a solution... and it's called HandySwitcher from Dinar Soft and it works perfectly. You have to pay for it but I would willingly pay 10 times the 10 Euro price tag to keep my sanity!!!
You could try AE Button Plus to map different functions to existing buttons (including single, double, triple click and long press).
I've never used wktask, omg.. Why?
Its so nice... thanks for this thread lol
only thing I miss is the memory usage in % that htc task manager got
Not tried AE Buttton but I did try WKTask and I thought the interface was a bit "clunky" to be honest but more importantly the hardware mode didn't work so using the <- button didn't actually close the applications which was what I was looking for.
I've been looking for this for some time, and I read several threads with ideas (like aebplus), but now: eureka!
Quickmenu 2.8 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340352) can be configured to use a SINGLE press on the windows key to make it popup; it then shows a task switcher, programs and settings shortcuts. NICE
no more fiddling in the left or right corner of a screen, or holding the send button down for some time (was using Touch X's solution until now).
[EDIT] just got a very good question in my inbox, so a little more info:
the windows HARDWARE button doesn't display the default programs menu anymore... instead, when pressed, a Quickmenu popup is visible in the top-left corner. you can select a running app. in the list also Quickmenu/favorites/recent/Programs/Settings directly accessible. Pressing the HARDWARE windows button again, closes the popup.
If you press the windows LOGO on the bottom left corner of the home screen (sorry 28xxx builds only), the default Programs menu is displayed.
[/EDIT]
Hi guys,
I was wondering if it is possible to move the start button from the top bar to the bottom tab bar. The background is the following:
I am using ProximityLocker on my HD2, which is a very useful app in my opinion. As the sensor is on the top left corner of the phone, everytime I'm wanting to tap "Start" my finger gets in the way of the sensor and the phone is locked, so I have to tap the start button very carefully in order to be able to open the programs page.
So, I would like to shift the start to the bottom or more to the right of the top bar.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Flash any 6.5.X ROM...they all have the start button at the bottom. If you don't want to flash your phone....you are on your own then
bottom start menu
Or you can use Cookies Home Tab and select Startmenu to be your leftmost softkey
Cheers
Hello, I am searching for an application that will make my start touch button and "X" touch button vibrate. (the buttons are at the bottom of the screen)
Is there such an application cause I saw on some ROMs that option...
Thanks and best regards
I am also searching for a way to enable this in WM 6.5x
