Flashing A Custom Rom Via Bluetooth - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Is it possible to flash a custom rom via bluetooth because thats the only way I can sync my phone to active sync

I highly doubt that it can be done, and if it were possible, there is a huge risk in flashing a ROM with an unstable wireless connection. You don't have any USB connections on your computer?

why not flash it via SD card??

Correct, it's not possible indeed. Have a look.

I do but my laptop doesnt recognize my phone at all so I sync through bluetooth.

Uncheck start>settings>connections>usb to pc.

It would be a disaster to do it over bluetooth...think about it. BT is only active in windows.
You can put it in boot loader mode and then flash--no active sync needed or you can use the sd card method which is the safest way to flash. Make sure you have hard spl on your phone first.

Do I absolutely have to unlock SIM & CID?

Not to flash a ROM; you just have to have hardspl to flash one.

So all I have to do is hardspl my device to add a custom rom?

yes but certain ROMs require SuperCID, so we recommend doing that. Follow the newbie guides on how.

Aight. Thanx a lot for your help.

Make sure you have Activesync / Mobile Device Center started for your phone to be recognized

Flashing via Bluetooth?
You can use bluetooth to transfer the needed files to SD, then flash from SD.
I have no working USB. But instead of bluetooth, I used sneakernet, and put the files for kaiserdiag.nbh (cmonex's kaisdiagSD) and kaiserimg.nbk to affect a flash of hardSPL onto my SD card and moved the card to my Kaiser.
Then I reset into bootloader mode using cmonex's kaisdiagSD. (Just for the hardSPL flash)
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420683
It worked. I now have hardSPL. I think you can do the same if you will load up your SD card via a bluetooth connection and keep your battery at 50% or better.
Now I think I can just use hardSPL to flash a custom ROM from SD.
Keep the battery charged!!!

I cannot use ActiveSync (any version) to upgrade my MDA. I have been all over this site and other sites. I have tried everything to get ActiveSync to work and connect to my phone. I have had a lot of people on this forum trying to get me operational. No Luck.
So, can I donwload a CAB file to upgrade my Phone ISP/SPL and OS to my MDA SD card and then install from the SD Card like I do other apps?
I believe the answer is no based on this thread. But, I will not give up hope.

Please guys, I am asking nicely now. This is not a place to insult other people.
Just answer questions if you know the answer or don't bother at all if you don't want to help.
NOTES :
In order to upgrade a ROM, you'll need a PC with ActiveSync installed and an USB cable to connect them
There is the possibility to flash from SD card but that is only in emergency cases, and it's not recommended. Plus i don't know if it will work unless the SD Image isn't your own.

Help.. three questions

1. Awhile ago I used Hard-SPL on my phone. If I hard reset my phone. Will I have to Hard-SPL again?
2. About ROM's I remember when I flashed a rom awhile back ago, I did it through MiniSD card. Can all ROM's be flashed through minisd? I've only flashed it once, so I wouldn't know.
3. Do I need to plug my phone onto my computer to flash the radio?

The safer part is debatable. It may be safer if you ise a UPS device. Otherwise a laptop or MicroSD may be "safer"

Flashing without USB support

Is it possible to flash ROMs without using a USB cable. Currently I am getting an error "USB Device Not Recogized". I have tried 5 different cables and both a Vista and XP pc. Get the same message.
I currently have IBI 107b installed and I started having this and freezing problems after flashing to this ROM.
I am able to connect to the PC via BT but not USB. So I can transfer files and cabs to the phone(tilt).
Is there a way for me to flash to a different ROM? Should I use the SD card method or is there another way to flash?
I am at a loss as to what to do. Please, any assistance would be appreciated.

now we can mtty our TP2 without having the need of MTTY and its drivers
INSTRUCTIONS:

- put you favorite RADIO in the mix
- run then task29.exe and wait for it to finish.....
- device will reboot but will neva go past the bootscreen coz there is no OS to boot
- take our batti and then flash a rom using mSD card or by taking device into bootloader and using customRUU to load ur favorite ROM

all credit goes to doloop for coming up with the idea
doloop said:
Hi,
I hex edited RomUpdateUtility.exe so it runs task 29 right after flashing ruu_signed.nbh
As every one understand this command format the rom,
Just unzip and run task29.exe . You may replace ruu_signed.nbh with the radio of your choice.
After the phone reset itself, your old rom will be gone, so it won't boot: binfs has been formated, your phone memory is clean.
You'll need to power up in bootloader mode (press vol down right after power key), then use the leocustomruu.exe provided with your favorite rom package, or flash it from memory card using standard procedure.

Before you flash a new ROM, just to make sure all of the old files get deleted. If some old files are not deleted, they have a chance of creating hiccups with your freshly installed ROM (basically the new ROM cannot over-write, over-ride or remove the old files). This is meant to help with clearing your internal storage.

It won't boot because there is probably no radio. Manually put your phone in bootloader. Connect to p/c and flash radio.

Question
I'm Hard SPL unlocked, but not SIM unlocked. Can I still run Task 29 and flash a stock Sprint radio? I've been reading that I can't flash a radio to my TP2 unless I'm SIM unlocked?
Do I need a radio if I use Task29 or can I use the radio I had already on my TP2 which was the stock Sprint CDMA radio?
if I need a radio, where can I get the stock Sprint CDMA radio? Then do I perfom the setup in this manner?
1. Run Task29
2. Enter Bootloader
3. Flash new radio
4. Enter Bootloader
5. Flash new ROM
Thanks

HTCDev root Unlock issue

Hi,
Since ICS update I have been going insane with the speed of my phone, and today I saw my friends Desire HD running Jelly Bean and it was flying. So naturally I have spent the last 5 hours reading up on how to get it!
I'm an absolute noob with Android, this is my first android and I my other smart phones ran windows 5.5 and 6.5 so however buggy the new OS it can not beat them.
I am confused about a couple of things and I have found many many guides that go in circles. my HBOOTS 1.29
1. Do I need S-off or do I just need my device rooted?
I have found the following guides that seem the most effective:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661631
2. What is Flashing Firmware and why do I need to do it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472298
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377759
3. It seems the best ROM is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782009
Are there anything better?
I don't care about looks, I want the usual phone features, speed, GPS, better battery life and bluetooth connectivity to my external Pressure Variometer (I use it for Paragliding). I don't care about issues with Wifi!
Many Thanks and sorry for repeating previous posts at times
You have 2 options. 1.) S-OFF your device, following the guide you linked. It opens up the whole phone, so after that you can do whatever you would like to. (Recommended)
2.) Unlock your bootloader through HTCDEV.COM website. (If you choose this, you can still install custom roms, but are unable to flash firmware/radio. For more info how to install custom roms with s-on see HERE)
Flashing the newest firmware is "always" an extra. They all come with stability/performance/radio... enhancement. ICS firmwares are 3.32 or 3.33. Whichever you have installed on your device, you are good to go as all recent ICS and Jelly Bean roms are working under both firmware. Some of them recommend 3.33 but are still working on 3.32. As far as I know 3.33 comes with newer radio...?
Rom-wise... It is really up to you what you are looking for and what you expect from your phone. Have a look around in the development section, there are plenty of custom roms/kernel about, either it is aosp/cm or sense based roms. They are all excellent and come with amazing support.
Have fun and good luck! :good:
edit: Have a look HERE too for some more info!

Great, thank you that seemed to have worked I'm going to now proceed with S-off and ROM installation. Will undoubtedly re-post again.
Just one more question, Do I need to delete/format the files off my SD card or not, I have backed up anything of value.
Also the network is not unlocked, would the network be unlocked with a new ROM?
