Have anyone tried adding more icons to the HTCHomeplug today plug-in? Anything other than "Power", "Screen Rotate", "Backlight" & "Comm Mgr"?
By viewing the embedded icons within the dll, it shows some memory icons!! Can there be any icon added?

Well, thanks. I have tried every one of those links and none mentioned about linking a "ctlpnl" shortcuts such as (memory) for ex.!
HTChomeplug works only with .exe and not with such DLLs!
I want to create a shortcut like those on the control panel!!
Hi,
Can you provide registry settings for Screen rotate and backlight?
Thanks,
Leo

HTCHome plug-in (modified)
Somebody please provide a DLL file having multiple icons. We need two sizes per icon (48x48x24bit & 24x24x8bit). More set of icons much better so that we can add more programs.

BTW, by changing the values "3" & "2" in sequence, you could change the sequence of the icons accordingly. I am sure you know that, huh?
The secret is that the POWER is "0" in sequence followed by the "ROTATE" as "1" and the rest follows upto I guess 7 icons as some guy mentioned somewhere in this forum...
Swap 2 & 3
Hi Cyber-Mate,
Already tried that, doesn't work here.
It makes the commmanager dissapear. Would love to have the screenrotate pictogram more to the right side of HTCHome. Also I'm thinking about a softreset button, that would be really cool!

Can you guys post the screenrotate.exe file that you're using? The one I have on my wizard works, but for some reason the icon isn't showing up, neither is the powericon. I can get the rest of the icons that I set the resource path to work with no problem, but those 2 entries that I suppose are taken automatically from the files aren't working for me.
huh
using the settings above i can add apps to and change the arranement of the HTC homeplug.... the only thing that doesn`t change are the icons.
It always looks the same, the 3 icons in the same order, tapping the blank space after the comm manager icon even opens the brightness setting.
am i missing something...

Well, definitely there's something wrong/missing!
It could either be ResPath or "LaunchApPath" lines. Revise your registry and follow the text line I referred to in my previous reply.
However, If you are tapping and getting the program running, that means the "iconindex" line is wrong. (i.e. the icon number such as 101)!
Best of luck...

"ResPath"="\Windows\htcicon.dll"
"LaunchApPath"="\Windows\Backlight.exe"

The app works........so i`m guessing the "launchappath" line is correct.
I`m not sure what the "respath" line actually does, but i typed it in as above.
Same with the "iconindex".
All i`m not getting is the icon for the backlight. i get the app.
Is there another setting somewhere i should be including/adjusting...
in fact, if i change the folder numbers the app will actually move position, but the look of the thing doesn`t change at all.

Get a resource editor and open up htcicon.dll and check to see which are the correct addresses for the icons, or try settings the ResPath to \\windows\\backlight.exe" and the IconIndex to "0"
Hope that helps.
this tweak will reduce the amount of pressure it takes to use the cube gestures
1 open reg editing software
2 navigate to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings
3. in HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings find DWORD fingerpressure...
4. enter in to edit mode then either double or quadruple your oem setting which is 3760
5. !!!!!!!!!*******DO NOT decrease the OEM value only increase IT WILL ACTUALLY TAKE MORE PRESSURE********!!!!!!!!
6. soft reset then enjoy reduced pressure gestures!!
...............................................................................................................
also figure out this could lessen normal wear and tear(scratching of protectors/PDA screens) since lesser pressure is applied to Tap the screen
here's what i did..
thru the PHM registry editor(or any PPC registry editor)
go to..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Drivers\TouchPanel
then find DWORD PressureThreshold'
Change the value of PressureThreshold.(INCREASE value ONLY!!!)
i tried doubling the default value. until i have reached my desired setting.
now,its like tapping soflty without having a feeling that i have screen protector. Also less stress on the stylus and screen and faster tapping.
WARNING: Only INCREASE THE VALUE BUT NEVER THE DECREASE THE DEFAULT VALUE.
Lowering the value of Pressure Threshold means you need to apply more pressure in tapping than you normally do.
wow!! tks for the info. i've change the settings by jz double up frm OEM setting. It works & i'm so enjoying wif very soft tapping on the screen now
there are more reg hacks im working on like im speeding up the movement of the cube and other things like speaker phone volume ill be posting all of them here i try them first and make sure they work before telling them to everyone

Very nice tweak! I always thought I had to apply to much pressure to the screen even before I was using the screenprotector.
Thanks for this!
Edit: it is also much nicer to work with the PCM keyboard now! Typing goes smoother.
Holy ****, this is great! It's much easier now to write on the screen with a touchpad.

So what you people use for the value under PressureTreshold for TouchPanel?
I doubled them both
Great Tweaks!!!!!
hey man these are great tweaks. I jus added these tweaks to the Touch Wiki, keep em' coming man

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\TouchPanel
can u verify this bereda, so as to reduce the posts which doubts the location of the registry key
I just will add this tweak also on my elf with Blue Touch 4.0 ROM and my value is already 9518. So Swiftblade ROM users dont have to add this tweak i guess

Are you talking about HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\OEM\TFLOSettings\fingerpressure or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Drivers\TouchPanel\pressurethreshold. My first value was 3681 instead of 3761 and my second one was 9350. I just doubled them both.

Im talking about HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Drivers\TouchPanel\ pressurethreshold
Like I said, I doubled that one anyway. There is nothing being said about a default value for that one in the first post. I think doubling that variable is why pressing keys on my PCM keyboard and the overall "touchscreen experience" is going better.
Its wierd.. I change the first one but the second tells me access denied.. even restarted the phone and tried connecting again.. I can change the first one.. but I can't change the one inside the TouchPanel directory..
Im using Mobile Registry Editor.. its pretty simple.. can't even search in it so I want to try something else.. Im going to search around for one but if someone wants to let me know what they prefer that would be awesome..

hey guys sorry for the delay the you are correct this is where the registery is located as listed above!!!!
my settings are actually quadrupled but its amazing im actually working on speeding up the cubes spins andhow fast it reacts!!!
my touchpanel threshold is at 38372
and my touchflo is at 15040
its great for me
For the TouchFlo, I found that it did have an effect.. however, I tried adjusting the PressureThreshold and didn't notice much difference...
Thanks for the tweak!

Any way to go around this, to change the pressurethreshold value?
Scrolling with the up/down buttons on the keypad can be made faster in settings. But what about the jog dial? Its set a little slow for my taste, are their any registry entries that control it? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

How do you do that in settings?
I'll add voice to that - actually for me it's a bit fast, it does a whole screen on email for instance, whereas line-by-line would be MUCH better
Thanks

Goto Start Menu>>Settings>>Buttons, then click on the "Up/Down Control" Tab. The device will feel a lot faster after speeding it up. I keep mine set a bit further than the fourth tick as the higher settings are probably only useful if you tend to scrolling through a lot of stuff.

Hmm, interesting, I didn't really even realise that for e-mails as I primarily scroll using TouchFlo inside of e-mails. My reasoning is that I want to use the Scroll Wheel in HTC Audio Manager like I would use it on an IPod, but currently, its set too slow for really efficient use.
Thanks for your help
No one knows about??? The scrolling speed using then D-Pad wheel is too low....... three-four laps to scroll just one row........ :-(

I like the VolumeOverlay cause it's prettier, it doesn't interupt your current task and u can set 15 steps instead of only 5. Here's an instruction how to enable it.
Easy way with registry:
In HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\3rdPartyAPClass\ create a key with any name and in there create a string value with the name: ClassName and the value is the name of the window class (I use BSB->rotation settings to find that out).
That works quite fine with the most application and especially for standby if u use the windows lockscreen u only have to set the value of the string value to ConfettiLockScreen and you dont have to reboot. (It only works if u play some kind of sound otherwise u dont see anything ).
In some applications it's more useful to have a tilted VolumeOverlay although the portrait version is quite nice and sufficient.
The harder way:
In HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\InhouseAPClass\ set a key with any name and a string value with the name: ClassName and the value is again the window class name. In addition u need to set in HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\InhouseEnable2ndUI\ a key with the name of the window class and and in there a string value with the name: Enable2ndOverlay with the value: 2.
Example: LockScreen/Standby
1. I look at the window class name with BSB->rotation->add application->shake in lockscreen. Result: ConfettiLockScreen
2. Create a key in HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\3rdPartyAPClass\ with the name Lockscreen (or any name)
3. In HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\3rdPartyAPClass\Lockscreen\ I create a string value: ClassName->ConfettiLockScreen
I hope I could help you and I hope it will be implemented in the BSB tweaks in the future. I would advise to combine all this settings (P2Z, rotation and VolumeOverlay) cause it's easier to add an application once and than tick what u want to have.
Hi there
This seems to be exactly what i need but fail at implementing it.
I am trying to enable this for CorePlayer.
The window clasname seems to be 'wCorePlayer'
I created HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\3rdPartyAPClass\CorePlayer\
In there i create a string value with the name (REG_SZ?) ClassName and the string value wCorePlayer
It's the first time I edit the registry. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
A
Okay it works now. With CorePlayer you have to go the 'hard way'.
Thanks!
A
ill add this when i have some free time
Works well here, tested it with the RemoteDesktop (Portrait+Landscape).
But is there an easier way to enable it for all programs?
It's a little bit annoying creating a key for every programm.
thx
Thanks a lot, it's really a great thing !!
i've already add this like you to the lockscreen and it works well
If there are a solution to add this to all applications, i'm in !!
Would be nice if this could be implemented into BSB?!

I resolved uninstalling brians taskbar icons, they was not compatible with the manila version of 1.61 rom.
Removed the icons and the volume overlay come back to work.
Is there an easy way to change the steps for the volume? Maybe somewhere a value in the reg?

are there any custom color taskbars present that doesn't cripple the volume overlay?

You could try to delete the following files from \Windows\ directory
HTCVolumeControl.dll
HTCVolumeControl.dll.0409.mui
I guess the volumecontrol then can't be found, and WinMo will use the default. Although I'm not sure if it will even work, it's certainly not the best way to fix the problem.
Make a backup first!

Ah, you mean you want the HTC volume control?
Then check this message, I had that problem a while back when installing a different toolbar.
Looks like the custom HTC volume control dll is not compatible with your ROM version. Navigate to windows folder, and delete HTCVolumecontrol.dll file, and reboot. You should get the stock one back.
