Conduits Pocket Player fixes Bluetooth controls! - Touch Pro, Fuze General

The folks at Conduits have done it again!
Until now, no 3rd-party media player could make use of the Bluetooth AVRCP controls because the crappy HTC music player monopolized them. But the latest version of Pocket Player (3.71) now includes specific support for our devices, so the play/pause/skip commands from our BT headsets work exactly as they should.
As a long time Pocket Player fan, with this problem out of the way, I now officially think the Touch Pro is de best device I ever owned. By far.

Is there a separate Plugin I can install or do I need to install the updated 3.71 cab?

I don't know if we can call this completely fixed yet. I went ahead and installed the latest cab; 3.7.1 and it still doesn't seem to be working. I don't use the Touchflo interface because I prefer more customization. As a result I'm using PocketPlayer through SPB Pocket Plus on my home screen. When I activate my bluetooth and run PocketPlayer everything appears normal until I press a bluetooth button. As before, Media player intercepts the button press and launches itself. Bummer!
So this fix only works if you're using PocketPlayer through the TouchFlo interface? Has anyone tried deactivating TF to see if the fix still works?

How are the volume controls with this program? I currently use Coreplayer and the volume controls are all jacked up with the HTC volume control..
I had an older version of Pocket Player on my Moto Q and it was a slow moving program.. Hopefully its much more snappy on the Fuze..

its better than nothing. turn it on and dont use it. im happy they at least found something.

works great
used the new 3.71 on my drive into work this morning and everything worked perfectly with the Venturi mini.

Conduit has also provided a fix for those who do not use TF3D. As stated here Conduit acknowledges that when TF3D is disabled their fix no longer works. However just follow the instructions in the link and you'll be able to use your AVRCP controls regardless of whether or not your using TF3D. Great service Conduit!

Nice catch. 3.71 gave AVRCP with my Sennheiser MM 200 on TP eu under Elite RC2 ROM.
From 3.70, only option was remove/install & an offer to keep previous settings.

Nokia bh-501 stereo bluetooth headset

hey guy,
I'm having problems getting this thing to work properly, i've searched and searched and can't seem to find anyone else with this problem:
Device pairs fine and seems to function perfectly as a handsfree, however, using media player the audio comes out of the phone even as the 'click' sound effects are coming out the headset! Can't seem to get any audio from media player or core player to come out the headset, the 'htc streaming media player' uses the headset but you can't open files etc using that.
I've tried with WM5 and WM6, same results.
Anyone faced this problem before?
Hi
I've just purchased this headset last week and am thoroughly impressed by it so far. There's not much info on it out there but theres a few characteristics I've found out about this headset; i wonder if you can help me confirm them.
- It seems like when you take the headset off your head it automatically turns off? at first I thought mine was faulty but this behaviour was quite consistent and I figured it was just a power saving feature.
- seems like it likes to turn by itself if idle quite fast.
- need to manually set the device as hands free for it to actually work as a hands free
- unable to use the mic when connecting to pc. I wanted to use it for my sip client on the pc but alas the microphone function doesn't register? What should I be doing to make this work?
In regards to your problem; I'll outline the steps I take to use mine.
1. turn on headset
2. turn on trinity bluetooth from comm manager
3. go to bluetooth settings from settings
4. touch and hold down the nokia bh501 item until the drop down menu appears ,then select "set as wireless audio" or similar
--> you should hear a sound, if you can hear this then it will work, if theres nothing
--> alternatively, select hands free if you want to use it as hands free!
5. open your favorite mp3's and it should work fine.
Does this work for you? Btw im using Mun's TE wm6 rom. What rom are u using?
Eureka!
Your post made me realise I had only tried the headset with AAC files and not MP3 and guess what? The headset only works with MP3 files! Although this is probably a limitation of the trinity.
I can also confirm it doesn't work with nerodigital video files.
I'm using the GPS enabled WM5 Ship ROM.
I'll do some more tests on different media files, it would be a real shame if we're limited to only MP3s...
EDIT: Wow the sound quality is amazing and the bass is fantastic!
I haven't tried playing AAC files because I haven't got any...I specifically converted all my formats so I could use GS player. I'm pretty sure the headset can play WMA as well..I haven't really tested...
The next thing I notice is this constant high pitch ringing or hissing sound...It's very uncomfortable.
I've seen reports of this all over the forum in regards to the Triity, let's hope there is a fix available soon.
wma file work.
i have wm6 and a motorola ht820 and it works great. the only thing is that the perfomance of the trinity decrease while i'm using the bluetooth-headset.

HTC W100/R100 worst wired remote ever??

What a disappointment!!! NOT RECOMMENDED….UNLESS - You only use Windows media player, button functions do not work with other media players, even tried core player with the “wmp plugin adapter “ which allows core player to 'host' plugins that are originally designed for Windows Media Player 10 but alas that doesn’t work either.
Even if you don’t mind using windows media player you are still left with the problem that pressing a button on the w100 wired remote will turn your device screen on. This happens even if you have set a button in windows media player to turn the device screen off. If you lock your device screen then you can’t use the button you have set in windows media player to turn the device screen off because it is not possible to map the windows media player to a button on the remote. The screen will also not turn off automatically after a given period of time while windows media player is running.
So you might want to consider purchasing an extra battery if you decide to go with the w100. As for the headphones with the E100, don’t bother, you would have better sound quality from two tin cans connected by a piece of string, and less treble.
I also tried installing the latest audio drivers from HTC, first off they do not install and you get a message that you have the latest driver already installed. To install the driver you need to extract the files from the exe and install the cab file manually, still doesn’t help. If anyone has found a solution besides an rma or can recommend a wired remote that actually works satisfactorily feel free to post a reply.
Thanks for the feedback.
I was actually looking into buying their wired remote... thank god I read your post first!

Audio Manager
I have a HTC 6800 AKA Titan AKA Mogul AKA P4000
and ive updated my rom with a 2.16 custom version(the last untill now) that has HTC audio manager as a default player so when press play on the w100 it automaticaly starts HTC AUDIO MANAGER and not WMP but there is still that mute button that does nothing ... anyway what i wanted to say is that i'm sure that there is a solution for everyone .. we just have to wait till someone like colonel00 or anyone else buy that controller and hopefully find this value (.reg file)
For more info or testing just PM me
Wired remote works -found my problem!
I have had the same problem many have stated they have where the remote does not work with the Windows Media Player.
I talked to HTC's support as well as one of their product managers. The solutiuon for me was simple:
turn 'off' the little mute switch on the side of the control block. Mine was on and showed the RED paint. Turned it off and everything works . . . . .

In S2U2 you must activate this settings
Autostart=1 (start S2U2 when the device is woke up)
IdleStart=0 (start S2U2 when the device's backlight is turned off)
OffLCD=5 (x seconds after the backlight is off, device will be turned off; minimum is 5 seconds
Then you must lock your device. After 3-5 sec backlight will be turned off, S2U2 will be started, AND then HTC AudioManager will run in background. All buttons work fine, my device - HTC 3300 Artemis (Rom: Artemis_Touch_4.02_full_withnocube)

AVRCP Not Working

I'm connecting my TC to a JVC KD-AVX44 car head unit. Bluetooth audio works fine, but I believe both units are supposed to support AVRCP, yet the JVC doesn't get song details or allow me to control it. Anyone have any idea if there's something I need to set up on the TC to allow this?
Thanks!
Okay, let's try another question...
Anyone have AVRCP working with Polaris at all? If so, what features? Play/pause, song display? With what device?
Thanks!
Make sure the BT profile is set for wireless stereo.
Thanks, Wireless Stereo works fine, it's just the RC that doesn't work at all.

1. Are you sure your head unit is AVRCP compatible?
2. What player are you using on the TC?
I have had no issue connecting and using my Moto S9's.
Yes, AVRCP 1.3, A2DP 1.2. Should work I think!
Tried with WMP, HTCAM, Conduits Pocket Player...
Can you use the buttons on the S9s?

Yep. I did have problems with Pocket Player. However, no issue with WMP or HTC Media.
WMP is working now, and I got Pocket Player working with a plugin from their site. I have control with both, can play/pause/next, but I still don't get song details on the player.
Anyone have song details displaying via AVRCP?
If so, what hardware?

Media Player took over my Bluetooth Headset

With my previous phone 8525, I was able to control Pocket Player and Core Player with my JayBird Bluetooth headset using AVRCP controls (pause, next track etc) All you had to do was go into the audo player program and map a function with button press on the bluetooth headset - easy. However, with the Fuze, everytime I press the button on the bluetooth headset the audio player doesn't recognize the button press and instead Media Player automatically loads.
Is there any way to keep Media Player from being the default player when using a bluetooth headset?
Bump.
Nothing guys? Compared to Media Player, Core Player and Pocket Player are so much better which is why I'd rather be able to control these applications with my headset.
Shouldn't the music player app that's open and active be the one that the Bluetooth headset focuses on when I try to assign a keypress?

Looks like this problem is on the Diamond as well as the Touch Pro variants.
From Condiuts (Pocket Player) "We are currently investigating this problem. It seems that the HTC today plugin intercepts all AVRCP commands and prevents other players from detecting the commands".
It already been pointed out that de-activating the HTC Today plugin does not solve the problem.

Windows Mobile 6.5 & Bluetooth A2DP - THE HORROR!

SOLVED!!!
Hi there,
Ever since I have my Touch Diamond and My cherished Nokia A2DP headset, I've been enjoying wireless music, calling and everything at the touch of a few buttons on my headset.
Recently I finally flashed to winmo 6.5, and I also decided that Touchflo was costing me too much precious memory. So I flashed to a nice clean rom (BsB).
Everything cool so far, that is, until I tried my BT headset. With out the touchflo player you're automatically dependent on windows media player, and if there is one piece of software that makes listening to music a b*tch it's wmp. So I installed pocketmusic. Everything fine so far. but the controls on my bt headset stubbornly only work with AND automatically start WMP. very irritating. after extensive searching of the beloved XDA forums I found out that this was a known problem. WMP Hijacking BT controls.
And finally it appeared I had found the solution: T-back's 6.5 BT driver.cab
This was supposed to give back the control of Bluetooth to the program running at the moment. all the coments left in said thread were joyous, it works, it's alive...
So I installed it, and too my suprise it did indeed stop WMP from hijacking the controls and also assigned the controls to pocketmusic...
Unfortunatly it also stopped the audio from going to my Bt headset, which kind of beats the purpose of a bluetooth headset.
So now I'm back to listening to music without T-back's driver, on my BT headset, and having to control my music on screen, which is a little irritating.
I've allready replied to the thread in hopes of getting a solution or something, but unfortunatly no reply.
I'm hoping someone beter technically endowed than me can give me a solution for this problem, this is the only thing standing between me, and my perfect rom!
HELP
Note, I tried this on 2 different winmo 6.5.1 rom's (benko's clean and the BsB 6.5.1)
note2: could this maybe be something having to do with the difference between 6.5 and 6.5.1?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I don't know about the ROM being the problem. You can try pocket player. It supports AVRCP by default. It also has a lot more features than Pocket Music.

Same problem there, i've tried them both.
you wouldn't happen to knwo what the latest version was by any chance?
I had a version which I had to import a dll, to get exclusivity for a2dp controls.
Which also didn't work for me
*edit* Never mind, it's 4.1 ;-)
But it's not really the solution I'm looking for, I want to fix the problem internally (so I can use a2dp for any program I want, for example S2P)
*edit 2*
Tried it, still not working, it's still starting WMP, even with the extra wmp plugin which Conduits recommends for this issue...
So still in need of assistance
Crap! It turns out I have the same problem using ENERGY ROM, but hadn't notice since the volume control on my HT820 works OK. I'm actually using HTC Audio Manager (manila) so I don't get WMP, is just the FWD / REV controls on the headphones don't work. Looks like Conduits will provide a fix for their player in the next release.

Nope, there not fixing it, that is the fix, it's a DLL file. the problem he's having is he isn't able to check the box to override wmp control. which you can do by selecting it, and then pressing the enter key on your virtual keyboard, unfortunatly the fix did not work for me
this is the dll file you need to put into your player directory, which you can then configure through the plugins tab in pocket player itself (after soft reset)
Try it, maybe it'll work for you, it didn't for me
volume control does work for me as well though, but it's the only thing taht's working
Solved
Thanx to Zänker
You should install the two files from these posts.
With this one you can toggle a2dp manually once your headset is connected:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437726
The following makes it toggle automatically after you connect your headset:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502549
(you should have the t-back driver installed as well)
Worked for me, using the bsb 6.5.1g rom and s2p media player.

I usually use Pocket Tunes, and never had this issue with 6.5 builds (I indeed use BsB 6.5.1G atm). If it helps i use Sony-Ericsson HBH-DS970...
