I have SPB Mobile shell installed so that it is on my today screen. when you go to the Today Settings screen, the top item is Date then below that I have Spb Mobile Shell, below that HTC Home. When you click on any of these the Move Up/Move Down options are greyed out. Is there any way to enable these? Reason being, is that I have AlDate installed and would like to have it top of the list. As soon as I try to move it above HTC Home the Move Up option becomes greyed out.
found the answer, if anyone else needs to know:
Change the value of HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Home\Type from 5 to 4, then move the plugin as usual.

Is it possible to never "lose" mobile shell by pressing "OK" or the "END" button? Basically I don't want to see the silly start menu / today screen again
Thanks!
This is what you want: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2028191&postcount=11 Its a today scrren plugin, which as soon as the today screen is displayed, runs mobile shell again.
Brilliant thanks!
Hrmm... Although it serves it's purpose. This .cab could get annoying...
Is there a way to hack mobile shell to get the "close/hide" function when pressing "OK or END" to be disabled?
That would make this .cab slightly less spastic.
Hi all,
I have an 02 XDA Orbit 2 and I installed on it HTC Home plugin.
Now, I wanted to change to SPB Mobile shell but when I tried to uninstall HTC Home plugin it could not uninstall it. Infact when i did a soft reset the HTC Home plugin was still there.
If I do a hard reset will this be removed and will CO Pilot be reinstalled since it was there when I first got it but now I uninstalled it since I could not get a proper street on the map I had installed.
Another question is whether I can run SPB Mobile shell when the phone starts up since I need to click on the small icon on the bottom right hand side to launch it.
You can remove HTC today plugin from the today screen and leave it installed. Mobile shell will work like this with no problem. This is how I run mine.
There is a program called SPB Watcher that makes it so that whenever the today screen wants to show it calls up Mobile shell. I found it through the SPB website. But I believe it is somewhere on these forums.

Click to collapse
Hi, just go to setting in your spb, click on mobile spb shell, then tick the box that says 'show the now screen when device wakes up'.
hope this helps you.
Ok
let me look
Hi
I do not think that will have any effect since it mine was ticked. I still have the click on the small incon on the right hand side.
But anyway, I will try to find that software SPB Watcher.
I have finally found the perfect configuration for the HTC Kaiser/TyTn II/AT&T Tilt Offical WM 6.1 Rom . First, Install htc Home Customizer, then from there install the HTC Album and REMOVE the music and weather tabs, then, install SPB Mobile Shell (be sure to disable the today plugin), next Install SPB Pocket plus BUT, while installing do not install the Home plugin (to make sure that htc home dosnt' get unlocked, this can cause problems when placing the phone in lanscape mode where the scroll bar that appears over the right hand side of the HTC Home Plugin causes it to cut off that portion when turning it back into Portrait.) Next install Microsoft .Net Compact Framework and Shapps Advanced Config, lastly configure your today screen to display ONLY the weather tab from SPB Mobile Shell, configure your city/state, and voila!! you have the perfect setup for an At&t Tilt
Hope This Helps
Neat, thanks
I don't know what I did to make it disappear. But I can't find anywhere to get it back. What is missing is the drop down menu in the far right hand corner that opens to show you all the programs you currently have open. Anyone have a way to get this back.
After I installed the SPB Mobile shell on my T-mobile HTC touch pro2 using windows mobile 6.5 everything worked fine except that I can no longer access my original windows mobile today screen. Every time I select the “Exit Shell” icon or I select the “Show Today” icon it just shows a blank screen. The only thing I can see is a background wallpaper. None of the original icons can be seen and I can’t select anything except for the “Calendar” and “SPB Home” icons located at the bottom of the screen. I would like to get this issue solved as soon as possible thanks. I have posted a screen shot so you can get a better understanding of what I’m dealing with: mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=tnfv3yjtqju&thumb=4
Also I’ve been having trouble trying to find out how to disable the “Lock Screen” so I don’t have to view it every time I want to use the phone. Here is a screenshot of the screen that I want disabled when I startup my phone: mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=n0cdkzygkin&thumb=4
so i contacted SPB tech support and they said i needed to install the .CAB version but it still didnt help. any ideas??
they said i need to go to: start - settings - personal - today - choose tap items - choose all items which you want to see on your Today screen. but there is no today icon after entering the personal menu. any suggestions?? screen shot: mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=dmxmwyvzk0w&thumb=4
Go to start > settings > Home then click on ITEMS tab select what you want mines on windows default.
good luck.
OK i fixed the problem. it turns out that it was the "home" menu that i was supposed to be looking for and not the "today" menu since it didn't exist. through the "home" menu i was able to change the "today" screens icons and combined functionality to both the spb shell and the original operating system. Thanks a lot!
sounds like you solved your own problem. great job!
