I can't adjust the hearing volume on my bluetooth headset via the volume control on my Polaris.
Is this a bug or a HTC feature? In that case, a really dissapointing one.
The volume control on my 4 year old Motorola Razr did that job.
Anything to do? The problem is that my BT doesn't have any volume controls on it, it relyes on the handsets control (Sony Ericsson HBH-IV835)
Anybody knows?
Anybody knows?
It's bad, becuse I love that handsfree. But not beeing able to adjust the volume isn't good, I then have to change handsfree.
Btw, is there a registry setting for the BT handsfree volume?

I don't think there is a way to directly control the volume of the speaker with the rocker switch on the side unless you are using Speakerphone, Windows Media Player, or HTC Audio Manager.
Roland
thank you
thank you for ur reply. i'm still not used to smartphone edition. the loudspeaker volume on my previous two pda phone(wizard and magician) can be controlled using volume rocker. so i guess i just have to get used to smartphone then. thank you

Help..please!
Mapping the Headset button,
Actually, thats a good point, but i dont think it is going to be that easy. During a call, the headset button puts the call on hold, and is equivalent to the green button on the phone. As far as i remember there was a thread somewhere a year or so back, and no-one managed to get the button to launch VC. However... that was before WM6
In the meantime, i can only suggest mapping the backlight button to VC.. Thats how i do it!
for me, I just simply press the headset button, and it activates VC immediately. I'm using the Beasty ROM, and a Pantronics headset
Well I changed to the beasty rom, and you are right..it works!
Execept- The button still dosent activate VC, I use the "light" button as someone mention before (thanks), but now my earphone mic does listen to it.
So any clue as how to get the button on the mic to work?
Ideally it would work like this.
Press to answer phone
Press and hold to activate VC
I ride my bike everywhere and that is why this would be IDEAL
THANKS!
Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to map it like that, the headset button only recognizes press(or in my case, press and hold to avoid mis-clicks). I did it by mapping the button formerly titled "Record"(the one right next to the camera) to VC, and now it works like a charm. Maybe you should try that too!
That's odd - I've always had the ability to use the button on the headset to either launch VC, or answer/end a call without having to do anything special at all.
Maybe it's something to do with the headset you are using? I've got a few, and a Parrot car kit, and they all work in this way.
Cheers,
Steve.
Bluetooth & Wired differences!
Lets tidy this up. I believe that we are crossing lines a bit....
The BLUETOOTH headset button often activates VC... thats not primarily the problem. I believe the problem is the wired headset... that one is the one a lot of people use, and i havnt found a way to make that launch the listening feature of VC as yet.

oh, that.
It won't work, I'm afraid. That button only acts as an answer/disconnect button, no special functions, and it can't be mapped to anything...
Thanks for answering...so the question...or solution is.....
Whar are the best bt STERIO earphones the except VC buttom mapping?
Million dollar question...
Try googling around!
I can't recommend STEREO BT headsets, I haven't seen any so far, even though I know they exist. Right now, I'm using a Plantronics headset, which is very comfortable, but the transmission power is a bit low, meaning I get some static even with the phone in my pocket, and the headset in my ear...
Been googling..so far NOTHING!

I actually use a conceptronic stereo headset, and that works fine out of box!
Hi there,
I bought the HTC Wired Remote Control RC E100 headset to use with my Touch Pro. Now that works great except for changing the volume. When you change the volume it does that in 5 steps from 100% to 0% volume. But the 20% (final step befor 0) is still very loud. Does anyone know if you could change the volume in 20 steps like you can using your finger on the Volume control screen sliding the bar up and down?
Thanx in advance.
Grtzzz MachinemaN
Did you get any answer for this problem? I've got the same..
I always have the same headset and the same issue!! Someone please fixxx
Got my Touch Pro today and it's really loud in the headphones - usually it's the opposite problems with phones.
Use your finger (not keys) to move the volume slider and you will get 10% steps...
Also you can use Windows Media which has an independent volume regulator ( (+) and (-) buttons on the screen).
CorePlayer can also play mp3 and has the independent regulator (if you did not check "use system volume" in its settings).
I'm using the E100 headset aswell and I'm having the same problem with the volume control.
I've searched around and EVERYONE has this issue (also with using the hard buttons on the side) and NOBODY found a fix or regedit for it.
I guess we gotta complain at HTC's side for a fix for this, cause the E100 earplugs are loud at the 3bars volume aswell for me, but just perfect at 1 bar!
The E100 headset is working like a charm btw, and my screen doesnt light up when im pressing any buttons..
Me too... Surely there must be a reg hack somewhere?
I just got a Jawbone, I'm listening to the radio through it and can't turn the volume up. I know that the back button is suppose to be the volume adjust but it doesn't seem to do anything. Is this a common problem, is there a trick, or can the volume only be adjusted during calls? Figured I'd ask before I assume the headset is bad.
