To help, you should tell us that your using ROM.
Ciao
tHANKS FOR ANWSERING.
I have tried it with to roms: Rajus 7.4
and now with psidoc wm5 matrik edition...same thing in both!
Help..please!
Mapping the Headset button,
Actually, thats a good point, but i dont think it is going to be that easy. During a call, the headset button puts the call on hold, and is equivalent to the green button on the phone. As far as i remember there was a thread somewhere a year or so back, and no-one managed to get the button to launch VC. However... that was before WM6
In the meantime, i can only suggest mapping the backlight button to VC.. Thats how i do it!
for me, I just simply press the headset button, and it activates VC immediately. I'm using the Beasty ROM, and a Pantronics headset
Well I changed to the beasty rom, and you are right..it works!
Execept- The button still dosent activate VC, I use the "light" button as someone mention before (thanks), but now my earphone mic does listen to it.
So any clue as how to get the button on the mic to work?
Ideally it would work like this.
Press to answer phone
Press and hold to activate VC
I ride my bike everywhere and that is why this would be IDEAL
THANKS!
Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to map it like that, the headset button only recognizes press(or in my case, press and hold to avoid mis-clicks). I did it by mapping the button formerly titled "Record"(the one right next to the camera) to VC, and now it works like a charm. Maybe you should try that too!
That's odd - I've always had the ability to use the button on the headset to either launch VC, or answer/end a call without having to do anything special at all.
Maybe it's something to do with the headset you are using? I've got a few, and a Parrot car kit, and they all work in this way.
Cheers,
Steve.
Bluetooth & Wired differences!
Lets tidy this up. I believe that we are crossing lines a bit....
The BLUETOOTH headset button often activates VC... thats not primarily the problem. I believe the problem is the wired headset... that one is the one a lot of people use, and i havnt found a way to make that launch the listening feature of VC as yet.

oh, that.
It won't work, I'm afraid. That button only acts as an answer/disconnect button, no special functions, and it can't be mapped to anything...
Thanks for answering...so the question...or solution is.....
Whar are the best bt STERIO earphones the except VC buttom mapping?
Million dollar question...
Try googling around!
I can't recommend STEREO BT headsets, I haven't seen any so far, even though I know they exist. Right now, I'm using a Plantronics headset, which is very comfortable, but the transmission power is a bit low, meaning I get some static even with the phone in my pocket, and the headset in my ear...
Been googling..so far NOTHING!

On a Fuze, when you're on a call, you can hit the Speaker button to turn on the speakerphone feature. And you can turn it off by hitting the button again. That works great.
Now, pair a Bluetooth headset.
Switching from headset to speaker phone takes many steps: Menu>Headset Off. Hit Speaker phone on button.
Does anyone know of a way to switch the headset on/off like speaker phone? In an ideal world, I'd replace the Video Sharing button with a headset button.
I've hunted around but not found anything remotely similar to this, but I can't be the only one with a problem.
Any suggestions?
Really? Nobody else gets annoyed switching from Speaker to Headset?
Bump. Bump.
I've got the original headphones, and I really like the various functions that are associated with long/short/multiple presses.
Can they be remapped?
Try "Headset Button Controller" app.
If you use PowerAmp, it provides various functions by the way you press the button on the stock headphone
Yes, thats great function. I have short press for play/pause, long press for next song.
I love the media controls on the button, and I'm searching for some headphones that have also an integrated mic to use them instead the in ear LG's found in the box...
Just a question: I wanna buy the "Monster Beats Solo HD", that uses the ControlTalk for iPhone...
Are those headphones compatible with my Optimus One?
I mean: I suppose that sounds have to work (it's a standard, right?)... But, does the mic and the button gonna work correctly? Can I use the media controls? Can I get a call without problems?
Do you know about some "over the ear" headphones (with integrated mic) that works properly with the O1?!?
Sorry for my English, and thanks in advance!
I own a pair of Apple in ear inline headphones which I bought for about 80$. I don't plan to spend more money than this for any other headphones so I want to know if anyone can verify the compatibility with these headphones and the HTC Sensation. I am thinking of either getting this phone, the T-Mobile SGSII (depending on the performance of the new processor), or the Amaze 4G/ HTC Ruby. I was leaning to the HTC Sensation before because I know it comes with some inline headphones, but at the same time I know the quality of those headphones aren't as good as the ones I'm currently using. I don't know where I heard this (and correct me if I'm wrong) but I think I remember someone said that Samsung and Apple use similar stereo input so the headphones might be compatible with the SGSII. If someone could also verify this, it would be very helpful. Lastly depending on the compatibility of the headphones and if the rumors are true of the Amaze 4G/HTC Ruby using the same camera as the MyTouch 4G Slide, then I would probably lean to this over the Sensation.
Anyways I just need verification on the compatibility of these headphones with the Sensation and the GSII so I can decide on a phone to purchase next month because I'm about 6 months overdue for an upgrade.
I have tested stock Apple earbuds from the iPhone 4 (so they have the play/pause, volume+, and volume- buttons).
The only one that works is the play/pause, which works flawlessly. Fine recognition of single, double, and triple clicks.
Neither of the volume buttons work, however. I used an app called Headset Button Controller (Market link) for its "Debug Mode" that detects button clicks. Unfortunately, the Sensation doesn't even recognize any input from the volume+ or volume- buttons.
Hope this helps!

Thank you very much. I will definitely take this into consideration. I just have a few extra questions though. Does the microphone work and can the double and triple click be used for skipping tracks and FF/RW through songs(by holding double or triple click)? That's the only real thing I need to know now. I will try to get by with the volume keys.

I'm a HTC Arrive/7 Pro and I love Windows phone but the only problem I have is lack of headphones support.Meaning unless you have the original ones that came with the phone you wont be able to skip tracks/control voume(Only button that seems to work for me when I try different headphones is the Pause button). But recently I seen this:

Klipsch made a headphone with 1 button that you can configure to the diffrent things(1 click pause/answer,2 clicks skip music etc...) so I was wondering would it be possible for someone to make a app like this for Windows Phone 7?
That would be wonderful & popular app for Windows Phone.

Same I have the solo HD and the controls work perfectly on my iPod touch 4th gen and my sister iPhone 4s but only the pause button works for me...not even the mic works
My motorola headphones work perfectly (they have volume up/down and play/pause), would be nice if you could change what they do though.

Have you tried to double-press the pause button to skip forward, and triple-press the pause button to skip backwards? Also, press and hold to initiate voice commands.
I've found this works with virtually all headsets. The only things that typically do not work are digital volume controls.

Appears to be a HTC thing... multi press works fine on the samsung and LG's...
Sucks for us HTC owners...
Best bet is to get a bluetooth adapter.. Sony erricsons MW600 is a good one... can use any headphones, volume control, skip tracks, voice cmds and it has a little screen that tells you what track is playing or who's calling....

Really trying to find a Bluetooth free solution.I use my phone ALOT for music and having Bluetooth on will just decrease the battery.
Bump......
I've bought these earphones for my HTC Desire:
V-MODA RRMT-E-NERO Remix Remote - Black (Inline Volume Control)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/V-MODA-RRMT-NERO-Remix-Remote/dp/B0037KLP72
As soon as they arrived I realised they're designed for Apple products only, so they would work but the controls wouldn't.
Pursuaded by a Head-Fi forum member I opened them, only to confirm what I was afraid of: The only thing working is Play/Pause.
You see, the earphones have 3 buttons: Vol-up, Vol-down and a multi-function button. The multi-function button is meant to work in the following way:
- 1 press: Play/Pause (worked on my Desire)
- 2 presses: Next song
- 3 presses: Previous song
On my HTC Desire though, when I press twice it goes to the previous song! And three times would just go to the previous song and then pause...
I was also suggested to buy this cable adapter that supposedly should fix the controls of these earphones for non-Apple products, but turned out to be absuolute rubbish:
http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk...hones_on_different_brands_of_phone.13276.html
Does anyone have any idea how I can make my earphones' controls work with my HTC Desire?
Thanks,
Liran
Either Headset Droid or Headset Controller will probably (hopefully ) help you out.
Search for them in the market, I believe both have a free trial so you can check if it works before laying your money on the line ^_^
I personally use Headset Droid, haven't tried the other though. I had (cable broke on me, typical) a single button headset, and it allows me to assign actions for multiple button clicks or multiple button clicks ending in a long click to that one button. For you it'll allow you to assign the same multiple functions to all your buttons.
I've found that clicking interpretation is off and on though, so keep that in mind as you compare apps. I need a new headset first before I can use it again, so currently can't test anything

Thanks for your help, but none of those apps work.
I've tried Headset Button Controller, Headset Droid and Remote Control for Earphones, and non of them even register the clicks!
Any other ideas anyone?
