Increase TouchFLO font size - General Questions and Answers

Is it possible to increase the preview text of SMS on the TouchFLO interface. I jst got a Fuze aka Touch Pro and I'm having a hard time seeing the preview SMS.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Not 100% sure if this'll work on anything but a diamond, but if the fuze is TF3D, try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437420
If 2D, then mosey on over to the Development and Hacking forum and pick up Manila 2D Customizer.
Can't remember right off the top of my head.
Of course, I don't even know if the 3D customizer will let you change font sizes, but it's worth a shot. I know the M2DC will let you in the newest version. But if the Fuze is 3D, that won't help you much.
Figured i'd toss the idea in there though.

Looking for a rom..... With landscape support

In a bit of a n00b when it comes to these sweet cooked roms. (my first decent phone in a while)
I currently have the Hyperdragon III rom on my Tilt now, And I LOVE it!! Great work man!
I have spent many a nights at work (network engineer) customizing it the way i like it.
But I am looking to find one that supports landscape as well, as that one gets wonky when in landscape mode.
Whats the best one for my tilt?
Thanks guys in advance.
What do you mean supports landscape? All devices support landscape.
Please, either post your request in that thread or go through the ROMs offered here and choose the one best to your likings.
I think he means which kaiser rom with Manilla 2D, that supports landscape.
Anyway, to answer your question, Solace 1.5 by Mbarvian has a landscape menu, but it takes a few seconds to kick in, and can take even longer when you close the keyboard because it has to re-launch TouchFlo.
Your other option is to edit your XML file(s) to better compensate for landscape. There are a few threads on how to do this. Since Manilla 2D does not support landscape at all, xml editing can't resolve every issue, its more of a workaround at best.

Have any of you completely ditched Touch Flo in favor of any other software?

I totally love touch flo but I am not sold that it is anything but eye candy and that other software overlays for WM6.1 might be better.
I was curious if there are people out there who have jettisoned touchflo in favor of something else, and what is that else?
Thanks for your opinions, input and software suggestions.
i go back and forth between wad and manilla
I googled WAD and was soured by what Google thinks I was referencing. )
What are you referencing? Manilla is TouchFlo right, but where does hte manilla come from? What is WAD?
WAD is Wisbar Advance Desktop, here you go:
http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/products/pocketpc/WisBarAdvanceDesktop/
There are a lot of nice skins for WAD.
ufufu got it for you
yes manilla is "touch flo"
manilla comes from htc but has been reverse engineered by some developers on xda.

i added wad to pda V10 and cant get it to work.. i disabled tf in today but wad still wont display weather etc..
its just a black screen
i really like the look of what wad is supposed to be..
any help is greatly appreciated
thanx
i see it the same way.. Manila2D/TF3D is good only for having your PDA look cool. it's not as useful as a PDA could get.
I set my UltimateLaunch to be as useful as i could using FEWidgets/Makecall (for speed dialing)/Rumball's weather/some internet icons and a networking plugin... and so forth.
..
How do you feel wisbar advanced desktop comapres to SPB pocket plus, do you have any experience?
Glad to hear I am not alone with tf3d not being the ultimate in work horses, I will look into ultimate launch.
by blank screen does it actually look like a blank screen, or does it look like there is nothing on your today screen. wisbar has to be completely designed by hand, or you have to download a theme file.
go here for a theme and tutorial i have put together.......

I have the same question and thoughts - perhaps WAD or SPB mobile shell would be a better fit b/c of the greater potential for customization. Can anyone comment on the memory usage / responsiveness between tf2d and WAD or tf2d and SPB mobile shell?
the opposite here. i used to have ultimateLaunch, but when Manila (TF3D) was born, ditched UL and now I am a happy manila user... love the changing themes every now and then, and everything else that comes with it, e.g. great graphics (rain animation is nice) and the close to no maintenance. manila is a little less flexibile the UL, but, pros overcome cons, for me at least.

TouchFlo 2d --- Can someone please explain?

I have been around here a bit and have searched and found the ELFIN threads but can someone please explain the what and why behind the TF2d replacements?
I would also appreciate what exactly one needs to play with them if they are as cool looking as they seem. I have the v20 zip but I am not sure how or even if I should proceed with installs of the numbered files.
ANY Help on this would be greatly appreciated!

most of the stuff you may not need to install if you dont want too but plug your phone to your pc and then transfer the files to a place on your phone.
say make a folder on the storage card and then start with number 1 and go all the way till the end. you may see a file called manila test or something well thats the M2D theme but you want to install the other items 1st.
if you have a touch you may have to disable your cube which is easy, just replace 3 files on your phone in the windows folder.
its good to get a registry editor also you may need it
Thanks for the help, I have the reg editor. Can you be a bit more specific as to which 3 files I need to replace and replace with what?
Can you give me some background as to why TF2D is better than TF3D. Really, nowhere is this addressed. I have various themes for TF3D, different clocks, icons, etc. What does one get by installing and using TF2D???
rac
well first what pone do u have, because dependig on the phone you have, manilla 3d may not work. so far its only on the diamond, hd, touchpro, and sum have it on teh xperia. manila 2d is for those who like the way 3d looks but dont have a 3d capable phone. manilla 2d is not better than 3d, but its pretty much the same, without the 3d animations.
just noticed u have a fuze. disregard my last statement. u dont need tf2d cuz ur phone comes with 3d already. dont even wori about the cube edits, because ur phone doesnt come with a cube.
EDIT: you just need the tf3d editor. its somewhere around here. use the search. im not sure as to where exactly it is.
TF2D and TF3D are completely different. TF3D is built for devices with a stronger hardware accelerator but has been ported so that it is somehow (poorly) useful on other devices.
TF2D fits most devices now.
The main difference between userwise is graphics.
TF3D has a nicer looking interface (at least in my eyes).. has animated weather, animated clock...
TF2D doesn't have those.. and is mostly static (besides the bottom buttonbar).
You can't really measure how much TF3D or TF2D are "better" than each other. it depends on which device you've got and what you expect graphicswise and usabilitywise.
If you have the EFLIN, i'd suggest either using TF2D or... FEWidgets...(you can search for FEwidgets and see what it's all about).
cheers
Thanks that's exactly what I was looking for in an answer to my question. I really am having a ball checking what each icon set or clock is going to look like and I wondered where TF2D fit into this universe.
Thanks for the answer!
rac
btw, i personally suggest at least trying FEWidgets. I'm using it now and it's undoubtfully the best interface i ever had. looks and usability.

M2D Question and WAD2 Question

Two questions:
1. I have read in a few m2d threads that there is a good chance m2d will never support landscape mode. I was just wondering why?
2. Anyone know any really good wad2 themes? I wanted something similar to diamond (w/ the text, email, since I use that alot) or something else that is really cool. I just got wad2 and wa3 and they are really fun to play with.
Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I am not a programmer. Just a huge fan of these phones like the rest of you guys.
why manilla 2d will not support landscape
Manilla 2d was built by htc, therefore everythingw as hardcoded by them (and we don't have the source code to modify it) everything we do to manilla 2d (hacks and tweaks you see everywhere) area accoplished by editing resource files (which are not hardcoded in) There are work arounds available that kill m2d and opena diffirent program in landscape, but then when you return to portrait you have to wait for m2d to load again.

Thanks for the explanation.
I love M2D, but landscape is something I need so hopefully something comes out in the near future.

WM6.5 'buttons' in manilla 2d?

I've been flicking through roms, and settled on a manilla 2D one. It's wm6.5, but it lacks the nice big 'start' and 'close' buttons on the bottom of the screen, instead they're being all default and sitting at the top. Is there any app or anything to change that? Also, I don't have the useful slider unlocker, is there an app for that?
Thanks!!
Thats nothing to do with Manila 2D, thats just a shell created by HTC to improve WM6.5's limited functions. It's the version of windows mobile, you'd need 6.5.3 or above for those buttons.
I know its not anything to do with Manilla, but I coulda sworn this rom was above 6.5.3. It's not a registry option or anything?
I dont think so mate, what rom is it?
Darkvisions 5.0 Manilla
