Flashing Rom tutorial request - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hello everyone. My Fuze, which I will be getting next week, will be my first WinMo SmartPhone (my first smartphone for that matter as well), and as suggested, I will flash the rom to get rid of AT&T Bloatware and to have my device run faster. The only problem I'm having is that I can't find a tutorial for flashing the fuze anywhere, on google or here.
I was just hoping if someone can put up a guide or a link to a guide for this newbie. I have downloaded the Elite Team Rom and everything, but I'm not sure what things, such as HardSPL and what not are or why I need them.
Basically, I'm new at this and I would like some guidance.
Thank you.

Here's a short summary that may be of use:
Step 1: Install Activesync, get your device sync'ed up (as a guest is fine, you don't need to pair it)
Step 2: Download HardSPL, and follow the included instructions. This only needs to be done once, the reason is to allow your phone to accept ROM's from other sources (like here)
Step 3: Download the ROM you want to install. Should come with a .nbh and an .exe, run the .exe and follow the onscreen instructions to install the ROM.
Should you need to revert to the stock ROM for some reason, reverse the steps (download and install stock rom, then stock SPL)

How to HardSPL unlock your phone. (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503)
) You're running the installer from the computer, making what's on the phone irrelevant.
a) make sure you have .NET framework installed on your PC! if not, get it from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&DisplayLang=en
b) if you have vista, WMDC update is recommended: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx
a) Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.zip is for normal
b) Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_025_MFG.zip is for development/hacking
) you must Have Phone Synced with PC in ActiveSync/Windows Mobile!
) run Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.exe (or maybe 025, if you want to experiment with MFG SPL),
) follow steps in the RUU, and check on the device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
) It should want to flash from version 1.03.651.3 to version 0.37.hspl
a) The Phone should go to a tricolor screen now and say 0.25.C-SSPL.
b) If it does not goto the tricolor screen, see NOTE 2.
) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 0.37.CMONEX (or 0.25.CMONEX MFG).
NOTE: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!
to enter bootloader mode to see version: with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button along with the power button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the volume down and power buttons when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
NOTE 2: anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe from the SSPLManual.zip attachment to the device and run it. then once the screen is in SSPL, run RUU manually. i.e. you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious.
NOTE 3: this is unsigned Hard-SPL. no limitations on flashing ROMs or radio packages. also, this has overwrite protection, if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, a stock SPL downgrade package is also available here.
NOTE 4: do not use this RUU to flash anything else! this is only intended for flashing the Hard-SPL.
NOTE 5: use Relocker *only* if you need to return the phone for warranty. only use it as last step - after reflashing stock OS and radio.
boot loader mode:
Boot Loader Mode - Touch Pro
) Turn off phone (top button)
) Press Vol. down + enter and then turn on (top button)
) will prompt you to turn off phone (yes)
) Now that it's really off, press Vol Down + enter and turn it on (top button)
) you should now see the tricolor screen
) To get out of it, simply use your stylus to reset the device.
How to Flash a custom rom onto the phone.
) MUST HAVE THE PHONE HSPL UNLOCKED FIRST!!!
) Format microSD card to FAT32. (format <drive letter>: /FS:FAT32)
) Just drop the rom.nbh (or whatever it's named) file in your storage card root, rename it
to RAPHIMG.nbh and voldown+enter+power and BINGO BANGO, ready to flash.
XXX) or Hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. While you're still holding those 2 buttons, press the reset button with your stylus.
) When your Touch Pro tells you to do so, press the power button to begin the flash process.
If you do not get the message to press the power button to flash, there is a mistake in
the name of the NBH file or you do not have the file at the root of your microSD card.
) When flashing is complete, perform a soft reset.
How to get back to stock (if you have to return it, etc...)
) Must still be unlocked aka hardSPL as with all dumped roms
) reflash the Stock Sprint Rom to the phone
) run the relocker

Did you look at the Raphael ROM Development forum? There is a Sticky there very nicely written by mskip. Strangely enough it's called:
[Resources] Flashing your First Raphael Rom (For Newbs)
And yes those instructions work perfectly on the Fuze.
-e

thats a great detailed help up there wish i had that when i first did it
but heres my dumb noob question
changing the radio
#1 is it worth it? i have a fuze and running romeos
and what must i do if it would help?

*MICROSD FLASHING*
***IMPORTANT***
Please make sure you have HardSPL on your device.
1. Get a 128MB MicroSD card (or whatever size you like) and format it (***please make sure you format it, but not just delete all contents on it)
2. find the ROM image you would like to use, normally namede RUU_Sign.nbh, and rename it to "KAISIMG.nbh"
3. Plug the card into the phone, then enter boot loader mode by pressing down the Power and Camera buttons simultaneously, and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the left side. Continue pressing the two buttons for a few seconds after pressing and releasing the reset button until the bootloader screen appears. (taken from Wiki)
4. You will first see a tri-color screen then the information on the card. Press power button to start flashing.
5. After all these are done, press the reset button located at the bottom of the phone to reset the device.
Thank you very much, back to normal!

how to unlock tytn II

hi! i am from the philippines.I bought a secondhand tytn II last october. My sim card worked with this phone and so I didnt know that the unit was sim locked to a certain network until I changed the sim card a few days ago. Ive read from different sites that I can do the sim unlocking of my phone personally but I'm really new to this thing and I'm afraid that I'll "brick" my phone. I already upgraded my phone to wm6.1. I read form you site an instruction on how to unlock the phone but I think it works for wm6 phones only. Here are some information about my phone:
R 1.65.17.56
G 25.83.40.02W
D 3.28.00.00
KAIS130 MFG
SPL-1.0.Olipof
CPLD-8
If you know of any way to unlock a wm6.1 phone, please help me...or if there's none, please just send me instructions on how I can change my os to wm6 so that I can follow the instructions below:
Thank u in advance!
Btw,here are the instructions I mentioned:
Instructions
============
1. Make sure you installed HardSPL as follows: power off and then press power on while keeping camera pressed, this will enter the so called bootloader mode and you see a tri-color screen (Red, Green, Blue). You should see "SPL-1.0 OliPof" on the second line in the top left corner. You can exit this mode by means of a "soft reset": press the reset button with the stylus.
2. Make a note of the radio version that is currently installed. You see the version strings in the splash screen which appears soon after power on (e.g. "R 1.27.14.09"). Since we will flash a special radio in step 5 you need to flash back your original radio in the last step. You can download radio roms from XDA devs here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349375
3. Connect PC and Kaiser with a USB cable and keep it connected until the last step.
4. Power on the Kaiser and let it boot into Windows Mobile. On the PC make sure the activesync icon is green
5. After you unpacked the download you see directories "step1" and "step2". Go into "step1" and run KaiserCustomRUU.exe. This will flash the special patched radio rom. Follow the instructions until it is finished.
6. Power off your Kaiser and insert a 'strange' SIM, i.e. a SIM from another provider than the one your phone is locked to.
7. Once Windows Mobile has booted up it will show a window called "Simlock" and a textbox where you can enter a 8-digit unlockcode. Now perform a soft reset by pressing the reset button *but* at the same time keep the camera button pressed. If you did it well you will be back in bootloader mode and you see the tri-color screen. The best technique is to press and hold the camera button first and then shortly press the reset button with the stylus.
8. On your PC go into the "step2" directory and run "kaiser-simunlocker.exe". If all went well you will see the unlockcode on your monitor and your Kaiser is being restarted automatically.
You should see this:
=== Kaiser Sim Unlocker (c)2008 by jockyw2001
=== Donations happily accepted, paypal to [email protected]
Your Unlockcode = 12345678
[] Done, enter the unlockcode
[] And then flash your original radio
Press Enter to exit
9. Once Windows Mobile has booted up it will again show the "Simlock" window. Now enter the 8-digit unlockcode and your phone is permanently SIM unlocked
10. Download the original radio from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349375 to the "step3" directory on your PC and flash it with KaiserCustomRUU.exe
That's all folks
Now you can look forward to some other great tools which I will release soon: "Kaiser SuperCID" and "Kaiser Radio Dumper"
Enjoy and ... donate to keep R&D going! Thx!

Help, trying to flash.

i was following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 using a PC (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Raphael Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your computer
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to RAPHIMG.nbh
4. Copy the RAPHIMG.nbh file to the root of your microSD Card
5. Remove Sim Card and Restart phone
6. Plug the microSD Card into the phone
7. Press and hold the volume down button, then press the reset button with the stylus. Release the volume down button when bootloader tricolour screen appears
8. Follow the onscreen instructions to start flashing
9. Once phone finishes flashing and says Update Complete, reset with the stylus
10. When it gets to the screen where it configures the stylus, HARD RESET
(hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER (center) Buttons, press the RESET button with the stylus tip, then release the RESET button but continue to hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons until the reset screen appears)
11. Follow onscreen instructions to set up your New Rom
fine upto step 8, it goes to the tricolour but then it just stops and it says
RAPHL100
SPL-1.90.0000
MICRO-RAPH (LED) V13
MICROP-RAPH (KEY) V5
PSOC-RAPH STAGE_CVT V0X36
and it just crashes....anyone help me?
FORGOT TO ADD:
It goes to a grey screen and says ' no image file'
This is the guide you should have used.
Sounds like you tried to flash your phone before you Hard SPL'd it.
Good luck!
IMO, USB isn't the best way to flash, because of
- not installed USB drivers for device in bootloader mode
- accidental desktop sleep or usb unplug
SD flash though
- corrupt SD card
- those microSD cards accidentally get dislodged and thus bad flash
i think that the best way is to flash via USB and make sure all drivers are installed... don't touch the computer or phone when it's flashing (maybe move the mouse a bit to prevent screensaver etc.)

Your phone is NOT a Kaiser, its a raphael.
You really should have read the guide I pointed you to.
It had the link to the correct SPL for your device.
A little time to read would save you hundreds of $
You may find a fix ( there is a hit and miss solution for this) but you really need to search, read and learn.
Start with this thread.
ah okay thanks alot man, i appreciate you're help.
ive done all that, i get the error {262} it stops at 0% for a few mins then displays the 262 error, i have turned of firewall and ive searched the forum, but no avail?
Okay, i tried to do the hard spl with the sim card and memory card out
but still no avail, ive turned off the firewall and then i ran
RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3 but still can 262 error, please help this is very frustrating!
what happens is that i run through the steps on the RRU, then the phone goes to a black screen, and the progress bar appears, stays at 0% for 2-3 mins then error 262 appears
please help!!
Okay, i have now successfuly hard SPL my phone.
however, i have inserted a ROM in my micro SD hard, pressed volume down and then clicked reset, however i can only see the tri-colour screen and it still says no image .
please help!

Help me please

Hello. I have a big problem with my HTC Vox, I hope you can help me.
Yesterday I tried to install a new rom on my device. I followed every step, all worked fine. When installing has finished and the device has restarted, appeared a problem. The phone has blocked on the loading process. I can't turn off , the phone doesn't read data cable. I don't know what to do.
I attached a picture to see exactly what i whant to say.
The first boot of a ROM usually takes long as initial setup tasks are executed. Check in the relevant ROM thread if there is anything to take care about.
If even after 15 minutes nothing happens, then try a hard-reset. Switch off (take out battery if needed). Then press and keep holding down both softkeys (L+R) while switching on the device - keep the L+R keys pushed. When the query comes for reset, press the green key.
If you don't succeed, then go back to the original ROM with the standard files from Orange.
Thank you very much. I solved the problem.
And how did you solve it? It may help others with the same problem.
I access boot-loader (Press and hold “Camera + Power” button simultaneously then release the power button first after hold for about 1 seconds, and then the device will enter boot-loader mode.) and then i installed a new rom. I was very simply but for me lasted more to realize how to enter in the boot-loader.
Yes - but this works only with the shipped ROMs - and it will only work for the original one that matches your CID. There is no free CID-Unlock for the VOX, only a CID-bypass with usually a RAM loaded SPL. For that you need to have the OS running to get the SPL loaded there. USPL batchfiles + tools are used for this.
Did you "Hard-SPL" the device first? This means to put the "CID-bypassing" SPL into the ROM? This way you can load any ROM on the VOX in any state of the device (OS up or bootloader).

[Q] HTC HD2

Hi everybody,
i have a htc hd2, it was running on windows mobile and i wanted something new so i decided put android on it.
So i did i ran iit it worked great, not problems.
after a month it started freezing up so id just reset it and it was ok for a while.
than once i hard reset it, and it froze at the tmobile sign, since than it will not turn on.
i dont know what to do or how put something els on it.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you might have had more luck if you posted in the HD2 forum, but your in luck as i happened to be passing by!
Okie dokie, first things first, when you have issues with the HD2 its quite good pratice to revert it to factory defaults, problems can come from the ROM, radio or SPL or any other things popped in there, like magldr for example.
so getting rid of it all and starting again is usually a good start.
its not always nessary mind but its probably worth it
But before we do that, try hard reseting it or flash it with a new ROM, this can be done in bootloader or magldr depending on how you installed Android
if you want to revert to factory defaults
1.) Reformat SD card to FAT32 (use the panasonic SD formatter, low level format with delete)
2.) Find and downloaded an original stock rom for your device
3.) Extracted "RUU_signed.nbh" from the ROM
4.) Transfer it to SD card, do not place in any folders
5.) Renamed it "leoimg.nbh"
6.) Inserted SD card into phone
7.) Turn on the phone into bootloader mode (tri-colour)
8.) Follow directions
To get bootloader to work Turn off phone or pull the battery, hold down the "VOL down" button and turn back on again) (continue to hold the vol button down until you get the tri-colour screen)
With a bit of luck it will detect the SD card image, follow the directions and flashif its not detecting the SD card then connect your PC to the phone (it will install some drivers) and then run the original stock ROM exe file.
EDIT, to hard reset turn off device, hold down "VOL up" AND "VOL down" turn on again (hold the VOL buttons down until the tri-colour screen comes up)
if your using magldr turn off the device, hold down the "phone" button and turn on (keep holding down the phone button until magldr comes on)
What about your ROM, radio version and so on ?
