I just noticed today that the Volume Icon or the Speaker icon on top of the task bar usually beside the battery icon for winmo is missing? Is this a Palm thing or is WM6.1 doesn't have this option anymore?
Lastly is there a way to enable this icon?
I think it is a Palm thing.. i wish we could reenable it and also have profiles.

I have noticed this bug on my Atom with O2 Plus and need confirmation from other users before I try to feedback to their support.
I have found that my Atom intermittently does not sound Notifications and Alarms. Couldn't figure why for awhile then I discovered this workaround :
1.
Using O2 Plus, switch profile to Silent. You will notice speaker icon on the top bar shows muted.
2.
Switch profile back to Normal. The icon at the top bar now shows the speaker as ON (but actually notifications and remoinders will now fail i.e. not sounding)
3.
Go to Settings / Sounds & Notifications / Notifications
On the Event drop down, select reminders
4.
You will see your notification alarm sound with a "test play" button.
Hit the test play button a couple of times, then wait a few seconds.
5.
You will mysteriously see the speaker status in the top bar change to MUTE !!! Click on it, turn speaker back on, close all the windows. Your notifications will now sound correctly at the appointed alarms and calendar times.
It seems the O2 Plus profile when switching back from silent to normal does not do a full job in turning on the notification sounds, just system sound or something like that.
If you carry out this procedure everytime you switch your profile you will no longer have missing / silent notifications !
Can other users confirm this bug / phenomenon ?
Anyone able to write a simple proggy or script to do the above procedure automatically ?
Haven't noticed it before, and I haven't missed any notifications, but you're right.
yeah i noticed this!!!THANKS FOR THE FIX!
just to add.besides notifications, you also lose screen taps when switching from different profiles.this apparently is not fixed by your solution.
hi, currently on my HTC u11 which I got yesterday.. Was wondering is there a auto hide notifications when I'm playing games or idling? Espacily when I'm playing Pokemon Go or in ig, the boom sound will show up and it's quite annoying.. Even when listening to music.. Is there a way to disable that or just autohide the notifications bar when idle?
Edit: basically when there's sound on an app it, will pop up..
+1 with also like to know how to do this.

yeah it seems like there's an option to remove it in Settings -> Sound & Notification -> Notifications.... and there's a list of apps and also system apps that we can silent from going to notifications.. just that i dont know which one is the boom sound :/
i pressed and hold to make it 'show silently' but it still on top there its quite annoying

As far as I know, without compromising your security by unlocking the bootloader and such, to reprogram the inner workings of android system, the only way to rid ourselves of this little ahole that the HTC programmers are seemingly not allowed to let us get rid of...is to use Bluetooth. As I recall from my most recent wired headphones, it remains at that time.
So get a bluetooth speaker for every room you listen to music in, and a pair of bluetooth headphones and you all set
What I find MORE irritating is the inability to change the white a$$ notification on lock screen to transparent. I guessed a theme might solve it. But I don't know how to design the notification strip on a theme. All I ever done was just set icons and wallpaper and stuff.
Has anyone heard anything about features we could look forward to for the OP 6? Maybe we will get Always on back?
Definitely getting Selfie Portrait Mode and fix for ringtone volume.
I got this from Android Authority. Had a pretty nice list for the next update. Hopefully it's why it's been a little slow coming out. I haven't noticed the the phone audio silence bug with the speaker phone as I use the speaker phone 100% of the time when home.

Display more notification icons in the status bar, when reducing the display size setting has created more space before the notch.
Removal of the three overflow status bar dots on all devices.
Increased notification and ringtone sound volume.
Rear camera autofocus improvements.
Fix problems when using Indian carrier IDEA as secondary/non-data sim.
Fix silent phone calls bug.
Restore status bar battery percentage option.
Add scheduled do-not-disturb feature.
Does anybody else think the Alert Slider is a bit backwards?
Surely it should work similarly to a volume rocker in the sense that when the slider is up it should be in loud mode. Middle should be vibrate. Bottom should be silent. Instead of bottom being loud. Middle being vibrate. Top being silent.
I know that when i receive my silk white edition....if their is an option to remap the alert slider, I will be doing it.
There was a similar app/mod for oneplus 5, check in that forum, i think it was with tasker and root
Think of this like that :
The alert slider control sound. So either you put sound away : away from you the alert slider is. Either you want the get back sound, or keep sound :alert slider placed near you.
When I am on a call using bluetooth, I can touch the connection label that used to allow me to switch to phone speaker, or speaker option. This is useful when going from by care to the office and back to a BT headset.
For the last few updates, this screen is blank when selected. I can touch the middle of the white space where the menu used to be and go to the phone speakers, but I can not see the menu items any longer.
Has anyone seen this?
Is there a setting or a fix for this?
I have been having the same problem for the last couple of months. Not found a solution yet and not great because I basically can't switch speaker devices during a call. Any have any ideas?
I had the same exact issue on my phone. What fixed it for me was changing my Preset Theme in Settings > Customization. I don't remember what I picked because I formatted my phone after that but I believe it was Vibrant tints. Just try changing the preset, check if it fixed it and then do more fine tuning with the accent color etc.
Hope this helps you as well, I know it was driving me crazy
