FUZE: Change theme without flashing ROM? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Complete noob here, so forgive me if this is a stupid question!
I'm wondering if there is a way to change the theme on my ATT Fuze without flashing the ROM - I'm insecure about doing this, since I am deeply ignorant! But I would much prefer the look of the original Touch Pro (all black) look to the greys of the ATT Fuze.
Is this possible? Or is flashing the rom = to changing the theme?
Thanks very much!

no you don't need to flash a rom to change your theme. You can do that without flashing a rom.

CID Unlocking with new ROMS

Quick (and maybe stupid) question from a newbie:
I have been looking around and reading all the threads about flashing new roms and I have one final question before I start.
After I flash a new ROM, do I have to go through ALL the steps again to flash a new Rom, (like flash it with the button ROM and then the T-Mobile Rom) or can I just flash a brand new ROM. Or does it depend on the ROM's themselves?
Anyway, I would like to thank everyone who posted all this great help on here, its VERY helpful and easy for anyone to understand.

Your question all depends on what you are flashing. Do you have a G3 or G4? If you have a G3, then once it's unlocked, you can flash away to your hearts content. No need to worry about downgrading or flashing extroms or IPL/SPL issues. However if you have a G4, if it's unlocked, you can flash anything you want (just be sure you're not flashing anyything with an extrom or IPL/SPL).

Im getting a little frustrated that people is too lazy to ready and research for its own.
Surf into the forum, do some research, this kind of question has been already answered in every thread of the forum. Oh my... no offense, believe me but please do some research.
Best regards.
Yeah, sorry, found it after I posted, it was actually on a thread about a specific ROM. Thanks TaurusBullba for the quick reply. Oh, and my 8125 is G3 and I just flashed AKU3.3 to it, works pretty good, but I'm already itching for something new.

You did the right thing by asking. Better to look like an idiot with a working Wizard than be a silent fool with a brick, right. Good luck on your journey. There are a lot of ROM's out here right now. Choose wisely.
BTW, welcome aboard.
Thanks, jwzg, right now I'm searching around trying to find info on making (or cooking, i guess) my own ROMS. There are so many great ones out there, but I have also loved customizing things myself. Thanks again everyone, your all very helpful around here.

HTC diamond 2 - advice on flashing a ROM and retaining operator settings

Hi,
I have a Dutch HTC diamond 2 and would like to flash the ROM to get windows 6.1 to work in English. I have never done this and have a couple of small questions i hope you guys can help me with. I have read some guides and i think i understand what i need to do:
1. install hard-spl 2. find a ROM (i will use a signed one) and install 3. update radio ROM if required.
The only thing im concerned about is i read in some places that i will lose my phone operator and MMS settings in the process - (i am on the dutch vodafone network). Can someone please advise me what details i need to record before flashing the ROM or if there is a program that can do this for you as i want to be able to easily use my phone without going back to vodafone afterwords!
Finally i would appreciate advice on a good ROM to use and a good radio ROM if anyone has this.
Thanks in advance!
hi,
Check theis thread out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509708
Its here you find the anser relating to you model of phone.
As for the operator settings - these are easy to put back, if the ROM does not do it for you.
I think all ROMS asr great in there own right - so try one, and if this does not suit your needs then flash another.
Good luck

Newbie quite lost about manila, max manila, touchflo 3d versions

I'm a newbie to HTC HD2, I've been reading through this forum for a few weeks but I'm still quite confused about versions and mods available out there. So, can someone experienced explain to me about the following:
My HD2 comes with Traditional Chinese ROM (probably from Taiwan) and the manila version in it is 1.0.19211620.0.
When I browsed through the max manila thread, and the top "sense 2.5 tweaks and mods" thread, it seems that all those mods are for "sense 2.5" or "manila 2.5" version. So, does that mean that my manila version is far behind? If so, can I still download and try those mods with my HD2, or should I upgrade my manila (and how can I upgrade it?).
Well.. that's about those questions I'm confused. Thanks in advance for any one who can kindly help me.
This will be an interesting thread for me to watch. My Manila version is 2.5.19202525.0 and that's how it came from the store.
I kinda have the same question you have. also i wonder how it all relates. i get the idea max manila is an upgrade for the standard manila, whatever it is i don't know. niether why some sense addon cabs don't work for me (like the call history, didn't look too complicated for an addon to me)
I'm not sure if you can upgrade manilla without flashing a new ROM. Though don't take my word for it, I just haven't seen it on XDA. Although I did see something about the document tab in manilla as a .cab....
Anyway, have you considered flashing a new ROM? I flashed Miris 6.5.x V3.0 and works great (was first time too, it was easy). That would upgrade your manilla. Although, i've no idea about flashing a ROM and region of your handset. I just know I used WWE. You'll have to wait for someone more knowledgeble than I to reply.
If want to find out if the .cab files work, just try one. I assume it can be uninstalled anyway, if it doesn't work then you may want to consider flashing a custom ROM, or perhaps a more recent stock ROM. There's excellent video guides on how to flash Stock and cutsom ROMs using HSPL in the ROM section.
Hope this has helped.

Thanks for the reply. I did try some mods and some of them work while others don't. I believe some mods crashed with the camera so I became more cautious about trying them out now.
For the region thing. I have yet another question. I understand that the official ROMs were from different HD2 released in other countries, but does that mean that if I install a US ROM then I can't read or type Traditional Chinese, or it's only a interface difference? If that is the case, I don't think I am going to flash my machine because I need to type and read Chinese language.

Need Bloatware remover & list for Att Htc Warhawk

Hello, was wondering if anyone here has a list of the bloatware and files to remove from the htc pure, and how to customize the start screen and get rid of unused programs?
This has been answered before, but for the start menu, use the file explorer (I think ATT put it in tools) then go to my device > windows > start menu > programs. From there you can add or delete items from the start menu
i understand that it has been answered before, i have been searching all the forums and still have not found an actual solution! Pointin me in the right direction with a link would be appreciated.

Flashing a ROM is a little more indepth than just finding it.
Read the flashing guide from the Wiki.
Start here.
HSPL must be first!
ice thanks, but i have been there and nothing states HTC Warhawk (Pure), everything says TD 2 or Topaz. Been searching for 2 days, I need a specific pure rom! I have flashed new roms before on the Samsung Blackjack II. just need specific instructions and rom files to do it!

They're all the same. Topaz = Pure = Warhawk = TD2
If you're looking for a stock ROM upgrade, you have to do it from HTCs site with your S/N.
If you want to flash a custom ROM, once you're HSPL'd you can flash any ROM in the Topaz forum.
cool m8, thanks! Now does it update the radio, or do i need to flash the radio to the newest version

Cooked ROMs may contain a radio but usually not. It would be denoted in the title of the ROM, i.e., WM6_5_23541_4.49.25.91_TOPAZ
There is also a radio thread where the radio ROMs have been posted separately in the Wiki.
I have tried a few Topaz radios but have not noticed the difference I've noticed with flashing radios on other devices.
ps, there have been issues with HSPL so if you aren't able to flash per the instructions in that thread, you will need to download the autoinstaller and "make a donation" for it to work. They have been fairly slow to respond to requests as well.
Bruce any recommendations on a rom, i hear Dutty is good but does he do Pure or Topaz? And how do i choose the best one out of the list givin?

SENT FROM MY AEON ROCKIN INFUSE
Thank you. I read that and I still have no idea what that stuff is. I just want a different theme, and I thought I could find it in the market but its only wallpapers. or am I missing something?
If your just wanting a theme download go launcher from the play store and then download themes for it.
In market/Google Play download Go launcher or AWD launcher to change main themes. I prefer AWD myself more things to tweek in settings. Once downloaded you can search the market for premade themes or create your own with a plugin for Go
If you want to change things like contact themes or dialers, I use Go contacts Ex. Same for SMS layout. Go has a Go SMS Ex and Go keyboard. All ive metioned are fully customizable and free. But some premade themes are pay
Hope this helps to get you started

Another Idea ...this is what I did before taking the plunge into these awesome custom ROMs,
YOUTUBE, do a search there for Samsung Infuse and themes for the android 2.3, you can get a great idea and some videos post the links to the market...
Just a idea, that's what I did...
BTW welcome....
Short Explanation
I'll try to keep this simple since I was a newbie recently lol
ROM - basically all the software on your phone, your entire OS, since you have ATT, you have:
stock ROM (unchanged), Android 2.2 Froyo (OS name)
Kernel - the drivers to make the hardware and software click, you have:
stock kernel (unchanged)
Developers edit stock ROMS and tweak them and release them for eveyone to use. Often, they release themes for them. To change your ROM, you have to:
-root (get administrative access, jailbreak for Android)
-get recovery (where you can flash ROMS, kernels and stuff) (flashing is another way to say installing)
-download a ROM, follow instructions and flash (install)
-download a theme FOR THAT ROM, follow instructions and flash (install)
If im missing something, let me know people thnkz

Themes
I have had very good results with the GO EX Launcher. There are all kinds of add-ons and themes you can get for free (tons more paid). You can also download an app called Zedge that will help you select wallpapers, sounds, and ringtones for free to finish it off. Enjoy!
