I just did the mobile speed test on my new Fuze. I flashed QSQA's 1.02 ROM and love it so far, but what i noticed is that for my DNS it says mine is myvzw, even though i have AT&T as my operator. does anyone know why it is saying i'm on Verizon's network?
Also does anyone know why under advanced settings in Opera Mobile there is no option to identify myself as a desktop? it keeps directing to the mobile versions of websites
Thanks!

T-zone only working with proxy
I got it working but only with proxy setting, 216.155.165.50:8080. Before I didn't need to do that, I just installed the t-mboile wap setting cab from Faria then everything was working fine include sling mobile too. Since I used this proxy setting, my sling mobile doesn't connect anymore.
Any one have experiences with this problem please help.

Are you paying for unlimited internet? If not then you DO have to use the proxy. If you are paying for unlimited internet you should be using internet2.voicestream.com

maybe you should try UC Browser 7.4 offers support WAP2.0, you can mengundugnya at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847784
It works for me with 7.2.2.51. I hardly ever use that browser though as for WinMo standard also Opera mini and Opera 10 are available that both work great.
I think that UC is also not using ActiveSync connections, so your device must not be connected to the PC when you try using it. It also asks if you want to use a WIFI connection if availble, which other browsers don't do. So it seems that UC is not using the standard hierarchy for connections but picks them in an own logic.
The normal sequence of connections is:
- AS (including Proxy Settings)
- WIFI
- GSM
it still doesnt detect the network, i tried to change the phone settings from http to wap but still shows the same result . opera mobile and opera mini work properly on both settings , uc browser java version. so im wondering what could be the problem.
I think UC-Web is a proxy service just like opera-mini. It is hosted in China and it may block certain regions of the world to access their proxy. UC-web knows your region by the geo-location of the assigned IP of your provider. Consequently it should not work on any device with the operator you are using for WEB access.
thanks . i will buy another operator sim card to see if that solves the problem.
Well, if they exclude Ghana from their service it should be the same for all operators in that country. A new SIM card will have the need to setup the GPRS settings for the new operator as well, so there is effort attached to swap and test this.
It could also be the other way round, btw. Not that UC-Web blocks Ghana form their service (in China), but that your local operator will not allow to access the internet (or China) from the GPRS settings that you have in the device.
So first test if normal internet access works (iexplore or any non-proxy service) and then check with UC-Web.
just fixed the problem. it seems uc browser does not with proxy. so i tried settings without proxy and now it works superb.
I have a corporate intranet site I need to access from my phone (it's a SSL site with a port - ie https://example.com:1234/). Had no issues getting to it on my N4 using the stock browser, FireFox and Chrome.
Have tried both FireFox and Chrome on my N5 and I keep getting Server Not Found error on both browsers. Pop the SIM back in my N4 and it comes right up.
Have tried the 'Request Desktop Site' on Chrome and FireFox as well without success.
Chrome reports a ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED error.
As an update, I have found that I can access the page when connected to a wi-fi network, but not when on AT&T cell network.
Intranet=internal network. If it's reachable from an outside network it isn't intranet. FYI

Yep. Sorry. The keys here are the non-standard port and the fact that I can access the site on any wi-fi network but for some reason not AT&T's cell network on my N5.
I am going to dig out my N4 and see if there is something different in the AT&T network settings between the two devices next. Was hoping that rooting might help (the N4 was rooted), but that didn't work either.
Anyone working on a custom 4.3 ROM ....
Success!
The N4 did not have a proxy set up in the APN settings, but the N5 did. Deleting it fixed the problem.
Sorry. My former boss used to keep calling our website an intranet, and he refused to acknowledge the difference. Lol. It became a pet peeve of mine. Apologies for interrupting.

Hi all.
I'm on an stock unrooted OPO, v11.0-XNPHO5Q with a baseband version MPSS.D1.2.0.1.C7-00020-M8974AAAAANPZM-1 on Virgin in the UK.
I've chosen the 'EE Internet' settings sent to me when first switching on the phone, plus I created a new APN for Virgin Internet from settings I found via search.
Regardless of which I use, my mobile internet speed is absolutely PANTS! My last speedtest was 0.11 down and 0.47 up....and that was with H+ with four bars showing!
Amy ideas please?
Thanks a lot.
Bumpety bump!
Is there anyone on virgin UK with a OPO who could post their APN settings please?
Thx
