From time to time Vox spontaneously starts to playback mp3 files with speed up. Anywhere, any player, ringtones, reminders. After turning phone module off/on, everything back to normal till next 'madness'.
Any ideas? Updated to Windows 6.1. Same thing was on 6.0
Thanks.
No ideas at all?
I have the same problem, but I've never encoutered a solution The only thing I noticed is that it happens less frequently on WM 6.0 comparing to WM 6.1.
Since turning the phone module off solves the problem temporarily, maybe this is somehow related to the operator?
DmitryDV, are you from Russia? Do you use MTS, BeeLine or Megafon?
MTS, Moscow. Yes I have a strange feeling that it's somehow connected with provder / SIM card. But it's definetely 710's hardware/software bug.
I had the same problem. It happened when the phone lost the network coverage, but after a reset everything was fine.
this happened to me once but you dont have to reset the device.
end the media player process from the task manager and when you start it the next time its all fine.
I encountered this only on WM6.1 that too just once.

That's correct. When I am in subway it happens frequently. I am wondering if any solution available except turning off/on phone module?
Same problem with the sound here. My phone works fine for about an hour and then the sounds speeds up and gets lower in every application. My phone is HTC S620. I am using WM6 now, but I had the same problem with WM5. I am from Bulgaria, my operator is Vivatel.
I am waiting it now to happen again and will try turning off/on the phone module. Until now I thought that it had something to do with some of the installed programs.
After changing the ROM version several times I am certain now that it is something from the sim card or operator. When using a card from one operator this happens every hour. When using a card from different operator the problem doesn't occur at all.

I feel the same. Any solution at all rather than changing operator?
Any update on solution?
I had this problem with an Excalibur (HTC S620), it came sporadically, not only with MP3s, but with AACs as well. So far, my VOX hasn't suffered from this problem. I am in Mexico, with the same operator as before. MAYBE it is the SIM card, for I got a new one (updated software) when I got the VOX.

Every now and then my XDA2I inexplicably slows down to a crawl and equally mysteriously comes back to normal speed after several minutes. The only additional software I have installed (but not necessarly running) is Calligrapher 7 and OmniSolve (a calculator that allows me to use RPN.
Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

Slow down
It happens to me as well, think it's when the phone is calling home/getting a sync to the nearest beacon..
Mine does this too, the only thing i have found to cause it slowing down is the SD card i have ...
Its a cheap 1 gig card but when the phone slows down if i remove the sd card it will skip back to normal speed.
Very wierd and a mega pain in the rear...
Me too!
My new O2 XDA IIi has the same problem, a few times a day it slows to a crawl. I touch the screen, I count to three, then I hear the screen tap!
I'm on the verge of returning it.
I also have a 1 gig SD card - branded Bytestor hi-speed.
Any tips from anyone?
Thanks!
Conor

Remove the card for a week and see what happens?
I have the same problem with my Qtek 2020i, but I don't have a SD Card inserted.
maybe this?
I outstalled the onboard 02 UI software, (which is always unwelcome and distracting) and everything seems to be much smoother now. Could it be their software I wonder that caused the problem?
Cheers

Hi,
I have the same problems with no extended rom files installed.
I also have a Extrememory 1GB card which I blamed for the speed.
It got a little better after disabling Microsoft Voice Dial and the Pocket Plus today plugin, but these problems persist:
It is not possible to enable Wlan after having BT enabled, only after a reboot.
Sometimes the phone hangs when a call arrives (caller gets to the mailbox - very funny)
BT-Headset loses connection frequently.
BT-range is about 1 meter, than it sounds distorted.
Funny also that I noticed that there was no \Windows\Rings folder on my Qtek 2020i.....
BTW: Rom is 1.11.01 Ger. Radio 1.02
Where do you get updates from (in German).... :?: I know that the German xda2i have Radio 1.03 which does not seem to have the problems of my Radio.
Came across an interesting issue with my RAPH whilst away.
The phone would reboot when ringing, or making outbound calls, sometimes the call could be established and a conversation could be had for a random amount of time (never more than a minute) and the phone would suddenly reboot.
I fixed the issue by turning off bluetooth (might have been looking for my headset) and just changing every setting in "Phone" to something and then changing it back.
Havent had an issue since.
figured id post incase anyone else had this frustrating issue.
I guess this might be solved with a different Radio version.
what version are you in?

Are you using S2U2 by any chance?
Mine started doing it since i put S2U2 on but am not sure if its entirely to blame.
Hi all,
I have been doing further testing and can report that S2U2 is not the problem. Its a device issue that occurs when i roam to a GSM network. When on 3G its usually fine. I have just upgraded radio to the .28 to see if this helps.
Both myself and my brother who have the same devices are seeing the same issue. I have seen it on the 3 rom and also the HTC asia rom hence why im looking at radio now.
I tried Radio .32 with no luck. Tried a few different ROMS as well, ROMEoS, the HTC ASIA update as well as the updated 3 ROM with no joy. Shame cause the phone is great apart form this "showstopper", back to my ever trusty Blackjack until a new handset arrives.
I'm on NextG btw, and problem occurs when swictching between GSM, Edge and HSDPA. Unfortunatey both home and office are in spots that switch between signals depending on where I am in the house/office, very frustrating. I'm also 90% sure it only happens when a call and data are happening at the same time, as my phone syncs wth Exchange, this is regularly.
I rang HTC support, they suggested a hard reset, which of course I've done many times, otherwise return for repair/replacement.
Some time ago I wrote a thread at the Diamond section about a problem with my HTC Diamond, regarding the unusual waking up of the phone in random periods of time. This happens on a freshly installed ROM from the HTC, official one. Nobody could help me, so I switched back to my Touch Cruise, again after freshly installed ROM (no third party software installed) and the problem started apearing again. I came to the conclusion that the problem is somehow related to my SIM card. I guess there is some bug either in WM or in my mobile operator's network, regarding something with 3G or HSDPA. My opinion is that on random intervals my phone recieves some kind of a signal from the network or loses some kind of a signal, which makes it to wake up. I reached this opinion because there is a certain place on the road between my home and office, where the phone ALWAYS wakes up. I guess there is a weak spot in the network.
My question is: How can I find and read the system log of Windows Mobile 6.1 ? I am asking this because I am almost certain that there will be some kind of information or error message on the times of the wake, which will help me determin the problem.
try to use your phone in Airplane Mode.. if it happened again then it doesnt belong to your network
I Found the problem !!!
Finally after months of agony, I have found the source of my problem. It was my SIM Card ! The damn thing was broken. I found that this is the problem, because I was already given up on my Diamond and wanted to sell it. So i put my SIM Card in my older Touch Cruise. And as you guess, the Touch started to act the same way as the Diamond. I went to my operator, exchanged my SIM card with a new one and now everything works as a charm. I don't know really what was the problem, but I guess it was some Voltage issue or maybe the card just wasn't getting the right signals. The important thing is that now I get to keep my Diamond and enjoy it without the problems I had.
Thanks for the replies !
I've been playing around with ROMs for quite a while now and today I installed the latest version of RCMixHD ROM for the HTC Desire. Everything runs fine, except for the very annoying fact that it looses network connection every time the screen turns off. This includes the screen turning off when you're in a call and the proximity sensor senses your head and turns the screen off. This is of course very annoying. I started looking at the Mobile Network settings and noticed that it hangs on reinitializing the network connection. That's weird, because it's not supposed to shut off the connection at all. Are there any devvers or users that experience the same problem and who can help me with a solution? The ROM is installed on a 2GB EXT3 partition. Rest of the SD card is FAT32.
Edit:// A2EXT should read Data2EXT, my bad
Edit2:// Just saw in the main thread there is an experimental 3.5 version. Anyone having the problems I described with that version?
FINAL EDIT :// Okay, cancel this all. I also had a USB brick but I thought that was unrelated to the network problem. Seems it wasn't. Flashed the update.zip provided on modaco (http_://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desire-desire-modaco-com/309939/usb-brick-rickrolled-b0rked-fixed/ (remove underscore)) and everything works fine now. Thanks if you thought with me, otherwise this might be handy for some others
Hey
Does anyone experience problems of phone having full signal and then dropping it.
The problem I'm experiencing is frequent dropout during calls and being unable to establish them afterwards.
I can send texts and use the internet one minute and the next the phone doesn't work and drops my calls as well as doesn't accept them.
I tried swapping SIMs, rebooting, flight mode, you name it. The phone starts working again after about five minutes.
Here is the error:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1e6_D3RM6luCK_LWDQSmOq-gJmmxjQOd9/view?usp=sharing
I would really appreciate some help. I highly suspect that this started happening with one of the latest updates.
I'm on a vanilla 12.0.3 Global rom.
Cheers

Yup. I have it pinpointed to a software problem as the phone worked just fine until a couple of updates ago. I can't however work out what could cause it.
I'm currently trying toggling VoLTE and changing APN settings (APN had wrong settings but still worked). Maybe the combination of both could cause problem.
I have also found out that SMS and data connection works fine all the time. It's just the calling function that causes the problem. I can listen to Spotify all day and it will work but as soon as someone tries to call me the signal will drop and everything stops. When I call the same thing happens. The bars just drop to 0 and playback stops. It resumes right after and works fine as long as I don't try to call. If I do the same thing happens.
The issue resolves itself after 5-30 minutes or so and then everything works totally fine.
So yeah if I had a rooted phone I would definitely contribute this to faulty rom or a rogue app. But I don't have one so it should work fine.
I've managed to capture it on video (sorry for the shaky camera but it was hard to film using one hand):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxusuCwsiBc&t=2s
Reboots, flight mode, swapping SIM cards (using a brand new one), using a SIM in slot 1 or slot 2, heck both slots, VoLTE on or off... I have literally tried everything. Nothing changes. Placing the same card in my other phone is fine. The problem happens everywhere and not only in one place so it's not reception. Also it doesn't matter if I'm moving or not so it's not switching between towers.
Same prob
I have the same prob, and I also tried every thing even flashing lineage didn't help, did u manage to find solution????

Sort off. I had to send it to a service center and they've returned my money as it was deemed irreparable.
