Polaris and Tungsten (Palm) bluetooth connect. - Touch Cruise General

Is there a software or download patch I can find that will allow my wife's Tungsten (Palm OS) to send Calendar and contacts via bluetooth and my Polaris actually recieve it?
Every time she send me an appointment or contact, my Polaris will see it but says it cant read it...or something. I thought there was a Palm and Microsoft patch somewhere. I after a few searches on this forum, I couldnt find it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Email notification for e-mail in inbox and subfolders

I'm posting this here since it's more of a general WM5 question...
I'm very happy with the new ROM for my HTC Wizard, and Push Email especially.
However, in Microsofts infinite wisdom I am not alerted when new e-mail arrives in subfolder to the main Inbox (however, I am alerted when I get new email in the main inbox). I'm not very surprised since Outlook 2000/XP/2003 works the same way, but it is very annoying having unread e-mail I don't know about.
Is there a program or a ToDay-plugin or a registry setting or anything that enable alerts for new e-mail in subfolders?
*bump*
I would very much like to have this feature as well. I receive emails when servers go down, and I have an Outlook rule setup to send the email to a subfolder under my Inbox. I do not receive any notifications when I get emails in those subfolders. Did anybody ever figure out a way to get this working? I have a Cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard).
I am sorry to bring up this old thread but I have the exact same question I seach around and didn't find anything. I also seach HF and seem like no one know if notificiation for sub folder is possible.
Can someone verifiy if getting email notification for sub folders is possible? I have a 8125 running wwm6 rom.
bump up to the top - looking for the same feature.
I am looking for this same feature. I am using emoze to sync my inbox and a few subfolders. I am using a AT&T Tilt (HTC kaiser) with WM 6.
So there is still no solution to this ?
It is a "feature" of Outlook.
Desktop and Mobile versions do not notify the system that subfolders have received a message. Desktop 2003 used to do this, and then it was removed.
I don't have a workaround for the Mobile version. On the Desktop, I use search folders instead of subfolders. It sucks, but it works.
The reason subfolders don't notify, is that most subfolders are used for non-important messages (i.e. spam, or system notifications). I get over 200 emails an hour about servers being up/down. So, I get a lot of notices. However, using subfolders, I never saw anything!!!
Yes I understand the rationale behind the 'feature'. But I have important mail in the subfolders. Unfortunately at this time there seems to be nothing we can do.
I was hoping a registry entry which would let us add a subfolder path or something like that.
Voice Command Will Tell You (sometimes)
I think there must be an event that can be trapped if someone (more capable than I) can cobble together a few lines of code.
I have MS Voice Command with the JetWare bluetooth addon. On my 8125 running WM5, I would get the read-out-loud notifications for mail delivered to subfolders. I've recently upgraded to a Tilt with WM6 and this bug/feature doesn't repeat.
I think this is a feature that many "power users" would appreciate... at least as an option.
Have a look at SPB Diary. This can show your emails on the today screen...including subfolders that you choose.
Did anyone ever find a better solution to this?
I saw people asking the same question here: http://discussion.wmexperts.com/showthread.php?p=1409571

I'm sure there's loads of other places where this has been suggested. It just seems like an obvious feature to me, especially if you are promoting WM6 as a business tool.

Too many notifications...
On a related note, this question:
My Hermes (AT&T 8525, WM5) alerts me when new mail arrives... that's no problem. However, If I don't stop and read it then, the next time it syncs it notifies me again about the same mail. Is there any way to set this up so that it will only sound a notification when something *NEW* comes in?
Thanx,

Sending vcal as e-mail

On my pocketpc (HTC Tytn aka Hermes), I have the following problem, and I find it hard to believe there is no solution. So please guys, girls, help me.
When I tap and hold an appointment in pocket outlook, I find an option to BEAM the appointment and to SEND it as vcal. What I want to do, is send it as vcal by e-mail. However, if I tap the "send as vcal", poutlook opens the mms app. The BEAM option does not help me either, as it only applies to infrared and bluetooth.
So: how do I send an appointment via e-mail (I know I can send meeting invites, but that is not what I am looking for). I remember that I could do this on my Palm Treo: it would ask me infrared, bluetooth sms or e-mail.
Am I overlooking something or do I need to hack the registry? (if the latter, I would appreciate advice).
Thx
Bump.
Anyone know how to do this?
My Treo does it.
My SE does it.
My Nokia does it.
My Tytn MUST be able to do it? 3-d party software?
Anyone?
Anything?

Outlook-Help Please???

I am very new to the whole Palm thing but not to the computer thing. Anyway... I have had a regular cell phone for years of course but I really wanted to get my msn mail on my phone and also have a date book ect. So I got the crackberry but the only way I could get the MSN mail was to sign in to the web and go about it that way. What I was looking for was for the phone to just tell me I had a new message. I do have the paid version of MSN so I am able to check it through outlook on my laptop. Anyway... Thanks you do guys I have been able to at least get Microsoft Live onto my Trio 750 and as soon as I got it I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.0 (thinking that might have been a mistake now). How in the world do I import all of my Outlook Express contacts from my laptop to this damn phone. Also is there anyway I can set-up outlook on the phone to check my various accounts (msn, Verizon, work)? Please please help and again I am sorry I am sure this is a neeewbe question.
Thanks again,
Glenn
Im not sure if you have already done this, but did you install and set up activesync. Activesync is a program that interfaces your treo with your laptop and there is also an option in activesync to save your contacts from outlook to you treo. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/activesync45.mspx Go there to download activesync 4.5, it is the latest one. Make sure you scroll towards the bottom of the page and click on the link that says "Worldwide English" Hope this answers you question.

Pocket Outlook settings?

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to build a small utility that would correctly set up Pocket Outlook for my e-mail account. Whenever I flash my device, I want to run this little program, removing the need to manually configure it.
The problem is that I can not find out where Pocket Outlook stores its settings. I'm pretty sure it's not in the registry (where I would expect them...). Can somebody help me with some info on this?
It's a WM5 device.
WIth kind regards,
Jurrie Overgoor
I've already found the answer, so for future reference: check http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa457968.aspx

Migrate Contacts/calendar from HTC Wizard to HTC Touch Diamond 2

I'm new, and this has probably been covered, but I can't find it. Does anyone know a way to migrate the contacts and calendar from my old HTC (Cingular 8125) to my new HTC Touch Diamond 2?

You can sync through exchange server or through software such as My Phone.
That, or you can use PPCPimBackup to write everything from your old phone to a single file, and then import that on your Topaz. It's just a matter of what you prefer, really. But I can really recommend PPCPimBackup, as it allows you to do much more.

Problem with PIM backups are that it can hose up your manila if you flash from an older build.
Syncing the Touch Diamond 2 with Groupwise
I'm 57 and used to be considered a tech whiz. You guys make me feel like a septic tank pumper. (No slight intended to the Honey Dippers. It's an honest and necessary profession.) I've been reading XDA about 1/2 hour now and am flabbergasted by the expertise and savvy I see in this forum. Some of the old coots who worry about our next generation should read here a while
I have moved (with some help from XDA) from an HTC (cingular 8125) Wizard into an HTC Touch Diamond 2 I bought unlocked from Hong Kong. My latest problem is syncing with Groupwise at work. I was doing this on the wizard by using Groupwise PDA connect to translate from Microsoft Active Sync. I downloaded the latest Active Sync and installed it. It installed, and I can see the device, but I get an error, with support code 85010014. When I try to run PDA Connect it says it can't connect and asks me to be sure Active Sync is running. I am constrained by our I.T. department to using Groupwise.
Has anyone encountered this and found a fix for it? Remember, I'm old. You might have to spell it out a little.
Thanks a lot!!

First, I am not familiar with Groupwise, however go to Settings\USB to PC and see if "Select faster data sync" is checked, if so uncheck it and see if that resolves your issue. (It usually would be checked though)
Please clarify, you can connect through active sync (meaning you can access your device and see your files, programs, etc), but not Groupwise?
Also, searching on that error code in google produced many results, you may try a search and read, it seems the error is possibly related to your .pst in Outlook.
Syncing the Touch Diamond 2 with Groupwise
Hi, Bruce.
Thanks for trying to help me. Yes, Active Sync does connect and says it is connected. It just has the yellow exclamation mark indicating a problem and gives me that error message. Active sync only works with Outlook, so it can't get my contacts and calendar out of Novell Groupwise (our email program, Novell equivalent of Outlook.) With my old phone I used a Novel Groupwise patch called Groupwise PDA Connect. Basically it translated the Groupwise contacts and calendar into something ActiveSync compatible. PDA connect is no longer supported by Novell so I can't get help from them. I was hoping someone on XDA has gone through this already.
I will try changing that setting you suggested.
Also, Bruce, is there any kind of user manual for the XDA website? When I log back in, I don't know how to find my thread back. Basically, I am saving a bookmark every time before I log off.

Not sure about manual for XDA, but Quick Links are very useful.
I just save the Topaz Forum as one of my home pages, but you can subscribe to any thread and access it through your Quick Links at the top/right.
You may have to maintain 2 separate DBs, for example, set up gmail as your exchange server and then duplicate everything from Novell over to gmail.
I know its a PITA. I have to do this as we are on Lotus Notes (POS) and I have found no option to sync.
Sorry.
